I was listening to this cd for the first time in a long time. I forgot how much I lOVE the title track. It really does rock!

Great song and co-write with Dave Stewart. I wish she had done this on her 24 Karat Gold Tour as one of the “lost songs” maybe instead of If Anyone Falls.

Listened to the Phonogenics discussions of FM and Stevie albums again over the past month. I noted that many times panelists referred to ballads as boring.
Funny, I find this song and others of its type quite boring. But I guess it is pretty good for its genre. Could have been a bit radio friendly, maybe.

It's interesting to me because I can't recall the album In Your Dreams having real ballads on it, but I think that's due to Stevie's excellent sequencing of the record. I guess Soldier's Angel is one and Italian Summer is a power ballad.
Whereas on Songs From The Vault, you get She Loves Him Still, If You Were My Love, Lady, Blue Water, Hard Advice, and I don't know what I'd call Carousel - it just doesn't fit on that album.
I was surprised the album In Your Dreams didn't perform better. I know Stevie had pneumonia before it's release. I don't know how that happened to her. So she didn't really promote it until after its release. But the FM Glee episode wave happened at that time. And Glee was the biggest show on network TV.

The ballad heaviness of 24KG is why I love the album and rate it well above IYD which lacks a real ballad and is almost all co-writes and midtempo snoozers.

I love the title track and think this should have been a single. She should have been doing this song on her press tour of tv shows

I concur. Her description of it as a 'lion running through the jungle that doesn't stop, from start to finish' was apt.
I like the line, "you just send those tears away"...as if sadness is room service.
I also of course like the callback to Bella Donna, "come in out of the darkness."

Hi Nathan,
Thank-you for reminding me of how her words/lyrics can be quite profound, and powerful! I, just, I hope she keeps writing about her life in her journals and transfers this energy into new music. :)

The lion does take a short break when there's that drum breakdown:laugh:
I never thought about being a jungle while listening to IYD. But Welcome To The Room...Sara is my Avatar film's Pandora/rainforest song!
