Thank you for sharing. This is really disappointing. We had a great Anthology cd package in 2018. I would have loved his "new album" to have been out this August. It's coming up on three years since his last studio album. I doubt this box set will "make money".

So, after a little digging I found the eight special rarities (as shown on the German amazon music):
Holiday road
Dancin' across the USA
Go insane (Extended Remix)
Slow dancing (Extended Version)
Time bomb town
Soul drifter (Radio Remix)
On the wrong side
Twisted
Slow dancing (Extended) can already be streamed...
And...it seems this compilation will be released in Germany mid-June

Nothing new for me here that I don稚 already own . At least with Stevie痴 box set her rarities cd was worth the purchase. (IMO)

I値l be buying this. Before Christine died, I had made the decision to purchase any material that was rereleased, in the hope that more material would be forthcoming, such as a Deluxe Edition of Behind the Mask, or blu-ray editions of concert videos, so I知 happy this is coming out.

Rhino has done some vinyl reissues that sound amazing lately. Their most recent campaign of Little Feat reissues have been superb. I'm hoping these vinyl pressings will be just as great.

I would much rather have an expanded or deluxe edition of OOTC (ala those Mac 70s albums deluxes), not with radio remixes like the Tango deluxe, but with rehearsals, demo and alternative versions, etc.

Not a good name for it though. '20th Century Lindsey' would be fine for the title of an article on an online music journal, or even a thread here! But it seems too trivial and throwaway to me.

Mick probably wanted the full cut of the royalties (joking). There are probably rights issues with it since the I'm Not Me CD is now long out of print even though it was released 12 years ago.
I think I need to buy it, even when the "rarities" CD is not that rare, and I have Law & Order and Out Of The Cradle on CD too (I have Go Insane only on cassette)
The real "rarities" were those first versions of some 2000s songs, those from the Gift Of Screws "demo" album...Weren't they recorded in the 90s, almost all of them?
Where's Wear You Down?? I need more Law & Order demos and rarities!

My guess is that there's no data for the record company to back up the idea that releasing an album consisting of demos and rare tracks for Lindsey would make any money. I would buy this release regardless but hopefully it does well so that a potential project like that would happen in the future.

So it's already released as announced in his networks. I was listening it and have a question. Is the Soul Drifter Radio Remix an old one? I read it is a "remaster" so I understand it was released in the past, but I had never heard it before.
And I'm reading comments that the 2018 remasters sound better than these.

Yes, the radio remix was serviced to various adult contemporary radio stations in the US to my understanding. This mix was uploaded to YouTube around 2019, so it was not specifically made for the album.

I must say that I am really enjoying the remix of Soul Drifter, having not been previously familiar with it. This mix brings to front some different parts of the song that had been buried.
The keyboards get pushed reveal a synth string pad from the late 80's or early 90s. Could be from the Fairlight II, but sounds a little more like a Roland or Yamaha patch from that time.
The bass part which shares some lineage with Hall & Oates' "I Can't Go for That" has been mixed further up and gives the song a more prominent groove.
The layers of percussion tracks get a little more simplified giving more prominence to the programmed snare and then the weaves of live and machine percussion come in an out with less obvious markings.
Some of the plucked sounds from the collection of stringed instrument tracks become less dominant, and the music box twinkling guitar sound gets to stand alone in distinct parts.
I adore the original version of Soul Drifter, but having recently discovered this alternate version, I am getting to hear the song in a new way that is pleasing me greatly.

I listened to the first two albums the other day on Spotify. I was having trouble making out differences in the remastering or some of the different mixes. Everything sounded very faint to me, to begin with. I致e heard that Spotify tampers with the volume of many albums, but I thought they usually drive it up, not down, toward distortion rather than away. Is it possible that Spotify lowered the volume, or did the engineering lower the volume to maneuver more room to work?

The alternate mix of "Soul Drifter" is easily the best addition of the box set. Unlike the original, which has a far peppier percussion track, this one is more conventional. The bed of synth strings is also pleasing.
I wish that the soft mix of "Countdown" was also included in addition to some demos or unreleased material, but I'm glad that we got a few more songs that are now commercially available.

I think it was chosen because having Stevie's name in his advertisement for this set will help sell more.
And just as a fact, the Twister film soundtrack is not easy to find in stores. I'm guessing one could find it in a collector music store.
Soldier's Angel would have been cool but that's not a duet even though Lindsey's vocals are very much present. In Your Dreams is actually hard to find in stores now too.

It meant Stevie was open to working with them, making a Fleetwood Mac reunion probable.
All Stevie really needed to do was lose weight, stop smoking, get a makeover, and do a post-Klonopin 鼎omeback concert on MTV with celebrity guests (Sheryl, Dave, Eddie, Tom, Don, Courtney, Billy Corgan, etc). I doubt it would have been as durable as the Fleetwood Mac reunion, but she was the only one who could致e gotten back to relevancy without The Dance.

At The Forum in 1990, Stevie cried next to Lindsey on stage and said she hoped he would work with her again. She called Lindsey in 1996 for help with the song Twisted because she needed help with the song's production, same as the need for help with Soldier's Angel in 2010.

I have no words for that last sentence especially 2014. Stevie is always beautiful. That year was the launch of Stevie痴 entrance to the young social media generation. Very 堵et off my lawn sounding sentence.
You said in 1996 Stevie showed she was open to working with Lindsey and Mick. And? That痴 not entirely true. Stevie was open to working with Lindsey 6 years earlier in 1990. It was Mick she was mad at after the BTM tour because she wasn稚 permitted to include SS on TS.

Which is why I said “Lindsey and Mick.”
“Twisted” was their way of letting the world (i.e. MTV, Clear Channel, promoters) know Fleetwood Mac -the one people remember- were open for business.

According to Mike Bise in his Mirror Mirror fanzine, this is exactly what Stevie was planning to do — a full-length documentary and concert for Lifetime (or one of the other cable networks in the day) to stage a comeback. The business offices were moving forward with plans, but of course they were canceled as the full-on Mac reunion started revving up.
I was actually looking forward to the plans for the documentary and concert. She was recording with some producer known for his hip-hop credentials, probably hoping to increase her appeal.
In 1995, she had the fateful conversation with Don Was on the airplane. Apparently, he was the guy who convinced her to get going again — start writing, start playing, join the human race again, like Dolly Levi. Her three appearances in 1996 (Ft. Lauderdale, Boston, Columbia) were the result of that conversation.
