View Full Version : Houston Ticket Prices Substantially Reduced

9 days out, ticket prices for Stevie's Houston show on August 12 have been substantially reduced with large quantities of tickets in ALL sections still available. Lower level seats are now as low as $79 to $104. Balcony seats are $59. The initial prices were very high in the first few weeks they went on sale.

The promotors might be wishing they had booked the smaller outdoor amphitheater like The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion instead of a large arena like The Toyota Center. Stevie played the outdoor pavilion last fall.

Had I waited until this week to purchase, I could have saved almost $200 on the total price of two tickets. If anyone is thinking of going, NOW is the time to buy.

How much were your tickets there at Toyota Center for the 24 Karat Gold Tour? I can’t remember the last time I paid $59 to see Stevie!

I just checked the Pittsburgh arena I saw the 24K Gold tour at. She plays there in late September. The arena is almost sold out. The seats I got back then are for sale $525.00 a piece. I never paid anywhere near that in 2017. I think they were about $250 for side seat shows. The people next to me were on the backstage VIP list. I got to see Stevie's dogs and saw her backstage before the show from the angle I was at.

So Stevie hasn't played this venue, Toyota Center in Houston, solo since the 24 Karat Gold Tour 7 years ago. Tonight is her first show in like 40 days and it is at Ohio State's enormous football stadium.

She's had plenty of time to have shaken the set up, well over a month. Here is a reasonable revised setlist for the rest of this year's tour.

1. Outside the Rain
2. Dreams
3. If Anyone Falls
4. Rooms On Fire
5. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
6. Ooh My Love
7. Leather and Lace
8. Gate and Garden
9. Wild Heart
10. Bella Donna
11. Stand Back
12. After the Glitter Fades
13. Rhiannon
14. How Still My Love
15. Gold Dust Woman
16. Edge of Seventeen
17. Think About It
18. Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You? (photos with Christine on the video wall)

Plenty of hits and some treats for true fans.

I don't know what she does with 40 days in between shows. Especially since she only did four shows before that 40 day break.

The most exciting thing about last night was she wore a different dress.

Here's a video of For What It's Worth. My eyes start to droop watching it. Such a boring song. She doesn't look like she's enjoying the performance.

I know she's laughing all the way to the bank playing these big shows and doesn't care what her die hards think of these performances just that they buy tickets, but this 2023 solo tour/Billy Joel tour is just sad. So much for that post she made saying she was working on a NEW SETLIST.

It’s okay but to me, nothing special. The irony of Gypsy is that the studio version is so good it’s nearly impossible to pull it off live. I think the first few tours where it was trotted out, various versions of Mac and solo struggled to make it sound right musically. I think they finally figured out the music by 1997 and Stevie’s vocals during The Dance were still able to pull it off. Ever since then she just can’t hit the right notes.

The 1987 live version of Gypsy is actually really good. Sadly it was yanked from the set very early in the tour. But I got to see it live. She could still hit the high notes then. Chris's keyboard was more prominent too.

While not like the studio version, I always liked the 1982 Mirage tour version. Its sort of country and love when Chris and Lindsey both sing back up which is something that was dropped.

Yes stop..stop. You are spoiling all my beautiful memories.
She sounds dreadful, sort of talking the song, no shouting the song in a very flat tone..
And don’t get me talking about her hair.

I don't get it. The hair and make up look unkempt. I don't know if she has a new lipstick color on or she had her lips done. The outfit is so tired now. The tennis shoes are just awful. There has to be something more flattering she can wear. Check out Vionics. They make a good fashionable supportive shoe. And she really looks like she is not even enjoying it. The voice is pretty much shot now. The line endings are a bit wobbly sounding. Every one ages differently. And 75 isn't young. I really think her touring days are numbered. This should be it. Focus on other things in the future. You can't tour forever. If that is all you have in life then, that's pretty sad.

The hair is dreadful; the dress is horrible, the spins are geriatric. Smh. She looks embarrassed, and I understand why. These are Billy Joel crowds. When she OPENED for Rod Stewart in 2012, I sympathetically told the people sitting beside me (who were just arriving) that she had just finished her set, and they looked at me like I was crazy. They had come to see Rod Stewart and really couldn't have cared less about SN. Her show came across like a series of funeral dirges when contrasted with RS. ...and that was over ten years ago. :(

:sorry::eek:

Maybe she should accept using auto tune.

I recall one of her well-known interviews back around the Tusk days where she talked about wanting to be known as a songwriter and said something about not doing this (performing onstage) when she's 60. Then she laughed and said, "I probably will" but then added "I may not be dancing around QUITE as exuberantly when I'm 60, but I *will* be writing then"

There is some vocal alteration this tour you can make out in videos. Some have said reverb. The Sara from Sofi Stadium sounded auto tuned to me because her vocal was perfect like a studio recording. I’ve watched clips here and there and she looks bored. Her set is boring, a lot of the songs just sound boring, the audience looks boring, it’s all a bunch of meh. I don’t think she sounds particularly worse than she has in recent tours, but she hasn’t sounded good in years now. I won’t rag on her for aging - if we’re lucky we’ll either all age or die trying. But she doesn’t look like she is having a good time and her choices in clothing, hair, songs, keys..it’s just all a mess.

And whoever thought it was a good idea for her and Waddy to share a hair person should be immediately fired.

She must make a ton of cash from doing these tours. I don’t know what else is the reason. I thought after the Rod Stewart debacle where she looked miserable, she’d only do something where she’s the headliner with someone else opening before her like The Pretender’s.

I don’t get why she needs to make anymore money she is so rich.
She has no kids no family etc to support.
So, why if she is bored (and yes she looks it) does she do it.

Do something more artistic, smaller venue acoustic concerts.
Where she could use a quieter voice and actually sing.
She has such a large repertoire she could do marvellous concerts….
Just do something bloomin different…

I agree with your premise about smaller venues etc

But I do think she is the main support for a TON of other people. You know she supports her brother, his (ex)wife and their kid... who now has a kid of her own, her mom (while she was still alive). She is the employer of so many people... not the least of whom is Karen, but also I'm sure she has other staff to run her personal/home life managed by Karen (housekeeper, groundskeeper/property maintenance, some sort of small office staff, etc). She has manager, publicist, accountants, lawyers (you don't think Stevie is Oprah and writes every check do you?) who are working on her behalf and must get paid regardless of whether she's on tour or not.

She's probably better now about having tons of pals on her payroll because most of them seem to have matured, gotten married/had kids etc... but...For years she was the sole source of income for Sharon, Lori, Christopher, Robin, Rebecca, Glen, and whoever all else, on top of her brother, his family, etc. She paid I'm sure for any education of her niece, for Matthew, and who knows how many of the gazillion god daughters she has. Now, she's the one who created this situation of having lots of dependents for sure, but I'm just pointing out that she does have dependents even if she didn't give birth to them.

Yes it was so bad. I actually felt sorry for Stevie. I could sense Rod's arrogance and it was sad how they had to find clever ways for them to appear on stage together. Correction: On Rod's stage. She was an opening act and came out a few nights to sing with Rod. They did Leather and Lace a few times and Rod looked like he never even practiced with Stevie. His singing was reduced to reading every word off the monitor.
Its all about $$$$$ money. The next few years Stevie was packing arenas. She did not need to do that just like she does not need to open for Billy Joel. She's on stage during the daylight with people fumbling around trying to find their seats. She does not need to sell out for such gigs.
But then again I say all the time. These concerts are not for us hardcore fans. They are for the bored masses who want to attend concerts in the summer.

I wish she'd cut herself some slack. Everyone gets older and adjusts one way or another. A smaller venue - such as a theater - would be fantastic. And, she might enjoy herself a bit more.

She could charge an absolute fortune and play in theaters which she would 100% sell out and put a show on that’s more fitting for a 75 year old who doesn’t have the mobility or voice to run around a stadium stage anymore. I know it’d be less money but I really think going that route and creating something special would be much more interesting than another blah greatest hits tour with an even more blah version of Rhiannon.

A Storytellers like tour would suit her very well now - she just needs a pitch clock to control the length of the stories.

it does sound like reverb, with one of her singers taking the high notes at the very end.

She really isn't even moving around much at all... not just her lower body, but the arm movements and all that she does to camouflage the fact that she's not moving around the actual stage very much anymore are quite diminished. She just shouldn't be doing stadiums. I mean, Elton and Billy sit at the piano for whole portions of their shows; but she has to be standing right up front, center stage the whole time. She can't do it any more.

This is very intriguing, and I never thought about it in these terms. Sure, I assumed she financially supported her brother and mother, but not the others.

Do you think Sharon Celani and Lori Perry have been on a continual salary since 1981, even in times when they were not touring - or do they just receive a lump sum for each tour. Also - Lori hasn't toured with Stevie for several years now. Is Lori still on the payroll? What does Jessica do for a career? I know that Chris handles merchandising, but how hard could that be?

If Stevie is 100% financially supporting the whole entourage, that's a bit much.

Christine wore wigs onstage for the last two Fleetwood Mac tours and the BuckVie tour.

Not sure how that works these days. Sharon has had a career singing backup for other stars.. ( I think she's sung on album(s) by Mick Jagger and others) and so.... And of course she's on the FM payroll when she tours with FM. Lori I dunno... I think she does get paid some kind of salary and does things for Stevie.. like she's mentioned in different interviews about how she sent Lori to go digging through storage units in Phoenix to track things like demo tapes down for her. Most performers have pretty impressive storage units where they keep all their stage outfits and instruments/equipment and whatever all else they need when they tour and all that. So someone has to inventory all of that stuff and fetch it as needed by the star. Lori chose to stay home and raise her daughter, but I don't think she was out doing a 9-5 job during that time... and what did her husband do to make money?? They lived in Stevie's Phoenix house as well (rent free? Just pay for your own utilities???)

I don't think Chris does her merch anymore and hasn't for a while.. but others on here will know far better about that.

Jessica was a make up artist at one point, but since then she's had a baby and not sure if she's still doing make up or what. I think she was living in Stevie's big house for a while, so the house was being taken care of and wasn't just sitting empty since Stevie lives and sleeps etc in her apartment.

I recall when Stevie was making the iYD album at her big house she talked about how one of her god daughters cooked for them every night big sit-down meals... I would think she would have been "hired" for that (doing the menus, shopping for the food, cooking and prepping it) but....that's just my guess.

I wonder if Stevie has regret for not wanting to make a new album or albums with Christine since Christine returned in 2014 (a period of 8 years) and for basically deriding Christine's album with Lindsey. Whereas Mick, John, and Lindsey jumped at the chance to make new music with her. I'd bet Neil and Mike wanted to make an album with her too. They (Stevie and Christine) could have spent so much time with each other in the studio and left something of value for the world on a disc or a vinyl record.

I dont believe a word of that. Its almost like the stories she told during the 1980s why Sara was never performed anymore. She always told stories.
Would it have anything to do with her not knowing the song and when to come in as was shown in the video? If she does not perform Sara because of Chris's passing then why is she doing Dreams or Rhiannon where Chris sang back up. Not to mention she is singing a tribute to Christine in the show. So she can get through that but not Sara?
I am throwing my B.S. card

I now have considered Stevie has dropped songs since On With the Show, right? She dropped Seven Wonders. On 24 Karat Gold, she dropped Annabel Lee and then New Orleans at the end of the tour. FM 2018 she and they dropped Storms and All Over Again (I know it's Chris' song but they sang equal parts), and this 2022-2023 tour she dropped Moonlight, Rock and Roll, and now Sara.

However, she also said she wanted to do Silver Springs on her Crystal Visions Tour so there could be songs she feels that should only be done with FM. Having seen this 2023 Sara live, it felt very empty unlike FM's versions.

I feel for the backup singer that made this comment when unexpectedly asked why Sara was dropped. Does anyone really believe she was going to say "Stevie really struggled with that song on stage" So I believe it was an easy excuse to say because it reminds her too much of Chris.

She has been performing Free Fallin for years and has no issues of it reminding her of Tom. She should drop For What Its Worth because it reminds her of JFK and Martin Luther King.

WTF would she be doing FM with, exactly?? First, John is done done done touring. But let's play along and assume either he will change his mind (have to go buy a bunch of new guitars) OR they replace him with someone else, which is a motherf****** disgrace. Would it just be her and Mick then?? with her backup singers?? FM without Chris still had two front people/singers. BuckVie without Stevie still had two front people/singers. FM with no Chris AND no Lindsey.....??? That's not FM, that's the Stevie Show. Explain to me how that's in anyway different to her solo shows, except with Mick on drums??

Or does "FM" mean Stevie with Neil and Mike up front????? Egads. Stevie and Mick, supported by Neil and Mike. Do they drop Christine's songs?? Does Neil do double duty and sing Lindsey's AND Chris's songs?? Does Stevie sing Chris's material? (can you say sh*tshow?) WTF.

This comment from Marilyn Martin is such delusional PR spin on behalf of Stevie. Stevie just wants to tour solo but just won't bring herself to shut the door to FM. Is that loyalty to Mick??

Just to be clear then, should there be some FM thing that she "would never say never" to  that would include just her and Mick supported by (maybe) Neil and/or Mike, and then all of Stevie's solo band....???:]

My hunch is that her concert promoter told her to play ALL her Fleetwood Mac hits since Fleetwood Mac does not exist anymore. For the first time since her very early solo days, she was performing every Fleetwood Mac single hit that made the top 15. She does not do that. I believe she was told to do Sara. She flubbed it and did not like it and killed it in the set. But of course no one can admit that so Christine was the throw down excuse.

Considering she does radio songs that weren’t chart hits like Landslide and Gold Dust Woman, imagine if she sang I Don’t Want to Know and Silver Springs with Al Ortiz or Waddy?
Seven Wonders could go in her solo set, it wasn’t Top 15 but it is a radio song. Though I don’t know if Ricky and Waddy could play it as well as Brett and Lindsey did for OWTS.

The show was fine. Since I've been participating in this concert going ritual since 1977 at the age of 7 years old, going to see Fleetwood Mac or Stevie Nicks in some form is just a sentimental habit. I've accepted that the set list will not change much. My new philosophy is that I have only a few years left to see them/her live, so I'll happily participate.

The only factor that is hard to digest is the new technology that uses pre-recorded backing tracks to add layer to live shows. It's not just Stevie, all of the old bands are using them.

We had seats on the far-right side 5 rows from the stage - excellent view! HOWEVER, the sound was odd and distorted. The reverb coming off of the backing tracks had an annoying echo that was absolutely jarring. It's like she was singing into a psychedelic echo chamber. Her touring operation has downsized substantially - There are only 6 musicians playing onstage (plus the two backup singers). But those backing tracks designed to fill out the sound are torture. We sat in this exact same section for previous tours and the sound wasn't this bad.

Whatever the case, I have to accept the fact that Stevie is 75 years old. Spins are gone. What can any of us do at 75? I'm 53 and I already get tired, so I can only imagine 75. I'm trying to be more understanding of her advanced age and the fact that she needs backing tracks and other tools to make touring easier. It is what it is. We had a good time singing some great old songs (wine helps enhance the experience). If we are lucky, we might have about 8 more years left with Stevie alive, so let's just enjoy the experience for what it is, precious memories and the soundtrack of our lives. Reverb and all!

We left at the beginning of "Rhiannon" to avoid the crowd and catch an UBER.
Up to that point, she had not mentioned Maui. However, I do have a feeling that she probably mentioned Maui right before the last song, "Landslide".

Before "For What It's Worth", we appreciated her words about the importance of voting and the need to heal the heated political landscape. It is obvious the divisive political candidate who she was referring to - without naming names.

"I Sing for the Things" was magical - it was such a treat to hear this beautiful deep cut live in concert. The best part of the song was watching a middle-aged woman down in the very front row joyfully dancing slowly and singing EVERY word of "I Sing for the Things" with her hands held out. You could definitely tell who the true fans were. At least 70% of the arena were casual bandwagon fans - but you could still spot the true believers.

The arena was mostly full, with only a few empty seats. With the substantial price drop during the last week, the ticket sales seemed to pick up. The local radio station was also giving away tons of free tickets to call in winners.

The jarring reverb of the pre-recorded backing tracks is annoying, but it was a great evening.

To be fair, Jagger has been avoiding a verse in Sympathy for the Devil for 20 years including the iconic line “i shouted out, who killed the Kennedy’s..”

That said, I find Micks omission of such an iconic part of an iconic song stupid. And Stevie’s absolute awkward decimation of her most iconic song is ridiculous.

Actually, last year I saw two concerts by two young bands: Phases and Levitation Room. Both setups were heavily hard-drived on computers. Kind of disappointing. I really do prefer hearing a traditional rock combo just slam through all on their own. (The great Welsh band Stereophonics still play that way.)

But here’s how I feel about the microchips onstage or backstage — I think they’re overused or misused. Talking Heads started their first several years of concerts with plenty of high tech, too, but they integrated it perfectly into their live act so that it added to the excitement of the set rather than overpowered it. If digital and prerecordings are used tastefully and inventively, they can be seamless and positive. Fleetwood Mac, unfortunately, does not use the technology that way. They just trowel it on until you can no longer distinguish what the five stars sound like from the backline. Unless you’re performing a violin concerto, the backline head count should never outnumber the frontline.

Part of the problem may be that today’s audiences from about row five and back don’t really care about what’s happening onstage. They’re on their phones.

Yes, she initially said "I Sing for the Things" was recorded for "Bella Donna", but there was no room on the album. Then she mistakenly said "I Sing for the Things" made it on "The Wild Heart" album. You would think someone on her team would have corrected her by now. Her team is probably so used to her speeches, they don't listen and tune her out.

The only reason I can think of for this mistake is that the up-tempo version she plays in concert sounds like the demo she recorded for "The Wild Heart".

Also, it was the 80's and everyone was constantly high. Facts and memory get distorted.

Yeah, she may just be thinking I Sing For the Things was on the Wild Heart album because the demo was on the WH deluxe edition. As for why no one in her band has corrected her- probably because none of them know it was on Rock a Little. We fans know every song on each album, sometimes even the album sequence, but I doubt anyone in her band knows these things. Stevie does have a very bad memory, which I think is from the drug abuse, Klonopin, and perhaps now from long COVID-19 considering she told her audience earlier this year she was in bed for a month.

I agree completely. I hate tracks. "We can't sing anymore, so here are some karaoke tracks to help us cover that up!"

Kansas City. Was anyone at Kansas City yesterday? The setlist website appears to show that she didn't sing I Sing For The Things.

It also says Bella Donna was played and not Wild Heart but that is not true. A lot of people sadly probably think it's one song because of the way it's presented as snippets of two songs these days.

When I saw her in Philly the person updating the set list also just listed “Bella Donna” and my guess is yes the playing of “Wild Heart” in conjunction with it is what makes casual fans not know the difference.

Even at the first show she played “I Sing for The Things” she never said the album it first appeared on but she did acknowledge that Waddy thought the final version of the song was “agonizing” and that it was recorded during a rough time (saying “I was not in a good place”).. However, she was closer to saying the correct year then and said it probably came out around 1986. But then, in the coming shows, she started adding ‘Bella Donna’ to the story and recalled it was tried out for ‘The Wild Heart’ (which we know to be be true per the deluxe edition) and didn’t really examine the timing of this song any further beyond that LOL
Even if she did play it, fans who update the setlist fm site often get the title wrong, even recently mistaking it for “After the Glitter Fades” — and even though she typically says a longer version of the title (“I Sing for the Things Money Can’t Buy”) before performing it. I just think people don’t listen or care to get things right unfortunately.

I seriously doubt this is true.

The entire show is performed with the accompaniment of PRE-RECORDED TRACKS - therefore, it is very hard to deviate from or change the set list.
A song can be taken out, but the arrangement of the Bella Donna/Wild Heart sequence cannot be changed on a whim.

She hasn’t done anything creative from a touring standpoint in years. This is a cash grab. You could argue Fleetwood Mac hasn’t done a creative tour in 20 years. A few new songs in 2013 but that was it. BuckVie was the most commitment to doing something unique by Fleetwood Mac in ages and they couldn’t even market it appropriately as Fleetwood Mac despite involving Fleetwood and both Macs.

Thanks for sharing that. I just watched it and enjoyed several moments, though naturally time is relentless and several things have changed since 2014 (the last time I saw her), like Stand Back's spinning and especially how she moved during Gold Dust Woman 2014, which was the Stevie moment I liked the most at that time.

Got to hand it to her — she is packing ’em in. Her legacy is staying power and personal voice. Look at what she’s done all these decades, imposing her style on music, dance, and relationship politics. She’s the heir to the Romanticists. I think I’m growing more impressed with her every year (despite the fact that she never strays from her formulaic path).

Is Billy Joel single? Stevie and Billy ought to tour together and then go home together. Think of all the stories about Liberty DeVitto they could tell us.

There’s something heroic about a singer who can barely sing anymore, a songwriter who never writes anymore, and a dancer who waddles around and is adored for it. She ain’t giving up. I don’t know why — to keep from falling into despair? to avoid oblivion? If that isn’t Romantic, nothing is.

A verse is also cut from Soldier's Angel too (I am a soldier's girlfriend...). I think the punch-up is because the original is pretty hard to sit through. However the original to me is more serious. Too much drumming and staccato from Waddy in this new version.

I think SA will be the next song to go in her setlist (Sara and Sing for the Things were gone at the last show)

It was a Billy Joel show. I never thought of her being the opening act for Billy Joel but it looks like she plays 90 minutes and Billy plays 2 hours.
She did I Sing For The Things at the Philadelphia Billy Joel show but not in KC. But maybe she dropped it so she could talk more.

Last year she dropped Moonlight and Rock & Roll so I expect there would be 2 drops on this tour (which continues in to 2024 with the Dallas date) too.

Free FallinÂ’ could have been performed on her November - December 2017 Tour.

I remember Waddy doing an odd tribute to Angus Young during that tour before Stevie started singing Edge. I think he played Hells Bells.

My belief is that playing Stop DragginÂ’ is a tribute to Tom, and I donÂ’t even want to hear that song live because Stevie doesnÂ’t hit the chorus anymore. She sang it beautifully on TomÂ’s 30th Anniversary Tour and her pre-Crystal Visions Tour shows. But I understand she has to play her biggest hit. But Free FallinÂ’ can go please! Our tribute now is done. We feel like that was adequate and honorable and respectful. And we’re going to just go be Eagles again. It was a one-off thing. We don’t feel we need to beat that into the ground. But it was a heartfelt tribute.

With current technology providing pre-recorded backing tracks, they can do any song without much effort. Just program it into the computer. It's now a karaoke show, and they are playing and singing along to backing tracks.

While I’m sure you’re right about the lack of spontaneity with technology, I can’t say that the last three concerts I’ve seen live were soulless. Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham, and Belinda Carlisle, and all three were awesome. And despite the prerecorded vocals I assume they had, I could still hear imperfections in Christine’s vocals during Isn’t It Midnight and Little Lies, as well as highlights when she held the notes in Everywhere and You Make Loving Fun.

No, sorry to have surprised you. I just figured with all the time Stevie has between legs she could practice a few things to throw in her set. She has three weeks until her October 28 show in Memphis. And then after her SF show in December she has two months until Atlantic City.
In Your Dreams could replace Fall since it's a fast rocker. Ghosts Are Gone could too though it's a bit of a dragger compared to IYD which keeps rolling. If she hasn't done Talk To Me and I Can't Wait in decades she could surely do Seven Wonders and even Silver Springs.

It's been 23 years since she did Rooms but I still think that could come on a future tour since she said she rehearsed it for the 24 Karat Gold Tour.

What did Stevie say about them kissing?

I’ve heard a story about Christine being homophobic as well, but in all fairness, I’ve always tried to give the benefit of the doubt that people change, and just because Christine may have made one comment about homosexuality doesn’t mean she felt that way her entire life. I know Stevie has spoken favorably of Night of 1000 Stevies, and given interviews to Out magazine. It always surprises me when anyone famous speaks negatively of gay people, considering how many gay people must be in their lives or inner circles.

In fact, my impression is, of all the members of the Rumours gang, Lindsey and Mick were probably the most comfortable with gay people. Just a feeling, I just suspect they’re more comfortable with the idea. There have always been rumors about Stevie being gay or bi, based on her closeness to females, so I can see her possibly being defensive about that, whereas I don’t think Lindsey or Mick would care if someone thought they were gay.

Stevie said Brit dug herself into a hole for kissing Madonna and Christina. I think she said the kissing was disgusting or along those lines. And then said Madonna was too old to be kissing Brit and Christina. Meanwhile Madonna was only like 45 then. LOL!

Night of 1000 Stevies isn’t marketed as a “gay event” to my knowledge but a celebration of Stevie. One doesn’t have to be gay to celebrate Stevie in costume.

On the topic of Ginny - I remember hearing that she was involved in a car accident and never quite made a full recovery. There was weird behavior as a result of her injuries. Don't quote me on that, I just remember those rumors swirling around way back in the day.

She’s completely self absorbed and lacking any self awareness, she believes all of her own crap despite evidence of whatever she’s saying being false (usually her own words contradicting herself), she is in love with the brand of her own name, and she looks a mess usually but sticks to her branded look because the suck ups she surrounds herself with are way too fearful to tell her the truth. The vocabulary of a 3rd grader probably isn’t super fair but I see where you’re coming from. I’d say it’s more of a pre-teen level.

Stevie has not always spoken positive about A Night of 1000 Stevies. Going way back to the early days of the internet and Nicksfix (mid-late 1990s), there was an interview posted where she was asked about it. I think the event may have only happened a few years then. Her exact quote was "I think its really scary." Even for the mid to late 1990s I was shocked at her response since gay acceptance was fairly normal then and people were praising her by posing as her.
I was not impressed with Stevie's MTV's Fanatic episode where the gay girl reveals to Stevie she was thrown out of her house and scraped money together to buy Bella Donna to get her through her hard times. I don't think Stevie is homophobic but she just sat there without much concern. It was a moment she should have stood up and hugged the girl. Stevie's first agent David Forest was gay. I think sometimes peoples statements or actions dont alway portray them in the best light.

She was completely justified in attacking the Madonna/Brittany tongue kiss and doing so is not homophobic. Anyone gay/straight that sticks their tongues together on live TV just for shock value deserves any criticism they get. If they were truly a couple and had a passionate kiss then it would be different. It was done for shock value and those performer's music sucks so bad they had to resort to such tactics to be talked about. I also applaud Stevie for stating she wanted to strangle Nicki Minaj to death
Stevie stated she was going to sing Landslide to Hillary Clinton in 2016 expecting her to win in a landslide. I dont think she likes Trump one bit. But Hillary invited Stevie to the White House in 2000 when Christine politely declined to show up.
I was at the Dance show in West Palm Beach in 1997 and Donald Trump was in the second row.

Wow, this is a twist, but I agree with virtually everything you said. I vaguely remember the MTV show where she spoke to a fan- I believe Bryan Adams was also on that same episode, and they were night and day. Stevie had that formal interview with the fan before a concert, while Bryan let his fan spend the day at his house, and they played video games and jumped off the roof of his house into the pool. I felt disappointed for Stevie’s fan.

Your comments about the kiss were spot on- it was done purely for shock value. I also think it was Madonna’s attempt to “stay relevant” and it succeeded, something Stevie has done too, though mostly in words, not actions. At the same time, even though I totally agree the kiss was for shock value, I have to admit, it may have helped open the door for showing gay people kissing on tv. I remember all too well when gay folks could only look longingly at each other or hug, or when the camera would cut away just as they were about to kiss. A double edged sword, I guess.

So what then of Stevie at 55 not being supportive of women kissing on stage but at age 72 singing “see my lips on her mouth.” Stevie went where the wind went which is where Sheryl Louis management told her where to go. Would she have said what she said about Lil Nas X kissing people on stage at age 55 too? Or was it only women she has a problem with kissing?
Madonna kissed women in the 80s and even performed oral sex with women in the book, Sex in her 30s. Vanilla Ice left her because of that. And if you watch Justin Timberlake’s face during the 2003 VMA kiss, he was disgusted or angry. Stevie at 55 was not progressive.

I don’t disagree at all about Stevie not being progressive. But I’m not sure which of your comments about Madonna disturbed me more- that Madonna was photographed performing oral sex on anybody for a book, or that she had dated Vanilla Ice. Both are pretty disturbing LOL!

I have always believed Stevie was very progressive. She is traditional in being a woman in dress and such. But being in rock bands with men she has to have a fairly liberal mind. Conservation used to be a conservative issue but the last quarter century conservation is considered a liberal cause. She openly supported Greenpeace which was tagged a terrorist organization by several governments. They promoted conservation by doing reckless acts that endangered lives. You dont hear that much about them these days but when they were at her concerts in booths, it was fairly radical. I am not saying Stevie supported those radical acts. But she supported and encouraged others to support them.
In 1998 during her Edge Walk she grabbed both my hands and gave me an interesting look because of my tank top. It said "Rock Hard." I was honored that I saw her acknowledging me and reading my shirt but she did not look thrilled. But it was a play on words. In those days I was pretty fit and it meant more about the body than sexual stuff. It was a great shirt and got her attention. I remember looking into her eyes and saw her puzzled and irked look.
