I never read (at least I don't remember) Stevie saying Moonlight was about Joe Walsh. I thought it was about Stevie and Lindsey.
Apparently she waited by a window wondering if she'd see Joe Walsh again and related it with Bella Swan waiting for Edward Cullen.

I don't believe any of this. Stevie just strings words together that sound good together and then later, comes up with these big explanations to add depth to the songs because the songs don't make any sense. She is a lazy writer.

Would you say that to Bob Dylan?

Just wait til you see the epic saga of Rhiannon she’s putting together. After nearly 50 years…it is going to be Shakespearian.

Dear lort, does she have any idea how dumb it makes her look, to talk about a project for 50 YEARS, that's never going to happen?

I think we’re all hoping it DOESN’T happen. (And it won’t.) Some projects, no matter how deeply the artist feels about them, are inherently indulgent and dull. Who would actually want to see this Rhiannon film?
Still, in fairness, Christine talked about cutting a straight-ahead blues record for decades. Decades. THAT one hurt.

Please don't exaggerate, it's not 50 years, just 43.
There we sat down to a press conference (december 1979), to which I arrived late in a semicomatose state due to warring bouts of hypoglycemia and a mild touch of diabetes. For the next hour we fielded questions:
Stevie, who is Sara?
Stevie, when are you leaving the band?
Stevie, when are you making a solo album?
Stevie, what about the "Rhiannon" movie?
Stevie, are you busy for dinner tonight?

I believe Stevie did write Lady From the Mountains about her time with Lindsey in the late 60s and very early 70s.
But I'm not sure whether she is also singing about Joe in Moonlight: "then she sees him, the candle burning." "He slows down so desperate to stop her" "If he leaves her, he'll be losing the chance to stay alive"

I would.
Please do not speak for me or others.
Forest of the Black Roses, Three Birds, etc. are great songs.
Rhiannon has a great story.
I thought this was a fan site?

I believe the song "Lady From The Mountain" (which begat "Moonlight") could be about Joe, since it's a RAL era demo/outtake. The part about burning the candle at the middle could be about cocaine, the part about the love interest loving "your life alone as well" sounds like Joe not wanting to be bothered by Stevie lol.

Great thoughts! Thank you.
Was it first demoed during RAL era? I know the character LFTM started with "Sorcerer" in BN. But I thought Stevie demoed the song LFTM for Wild Heart?
I took the line about Your Life Alone as Well to be about Lindsey playing with Don Everly.
And in the demo, when she sings "Go with her, You know you want her, You Could Use a Dreamer, Someone on your side" I took that as her singing to Lindsey to stay with her as they tried for success in the music business during the 70s.
But it was Joe Walsh after all:lol:

You mis-read the article. Stevie did not sit down with this publication to give a new interview. They simply wrote about Stevie basing the movie on a past relationship and guessed it was Joe Walsh she was referring to.
