From Rolling Stone:

Christine McVie clarifies comments that Fleetwood Mac is done. Check my postings as I foretold this was going to happen. She spoke honestly but off the cuff. People tweeted and ran with false and misleading headlines that were unfair to her and the band.
Now it is official

https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...ments-1129059/

From Rolling Stone:

Last week, Christine McVie stunned Fleetwood Mac fans when she told the BBC she didn’t know if the band would ever tour again. “If we do, it will be without John [McVie] and without Stevie [Nicks], I think,” she said. “I think I’m getting a bit too old for it now, especially having had a year off. I don’t know if I can get myself back into it again.”

“[John] is feeling a little bit frail,” she continued. “You know he was ill. He’s fine, but he just hasn’t got the heart for it any more. He wants to get on his boat. You reach a certain age where you go: ‘Hey, I’m not going to bust a gut doing this anymore.'”

She concluded by saying that only drummer Mick Fleetwood would definitely be down for another tour. “[He] would do it in a lightning strike,” she said. “But I couldn’t possibly say. We’re certainly not touring this year either.”

The comments generated headlines around the world. But now, McVie has clarified to Rolling Stone where the group stands with regard to future touring.

“First and foremost, I’m thrilled to see that everyone still cares so much about Fleetwood Mac, how humbling to know what a lasting impact this band has had,” she said. “To clarify my recent comments, I was specifically asked if Fleetwood Mac would tour again. I gave a cheeky answer indicating that the band might be ‘done with that’ or ‘you just never know.’ I always intended to convey that, particularly after the last year, we just don’t know what the future holds.

“In no way are any members of Fleetwood Mac ‘done’ with being part of the band,” she continues. “If anyone took that from my statement, that was a misperception and not intended. Fleetwood Mac is part of the DNA of who I am, and I know the same is true for Stevie, Mick and John. As for future touring………Who knows. We continue to hope for the best.”

The band has been on hiatus since the conclusion of their An Evening With Fleetwood Mac tour in November 2019. It was their first tour since parting ways with singer-guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and bringing Crowded House’s Neil Finn and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell into the fold.

In February 2020, Mick Fleetwood staged a tribute concert to Fleetwood Mac co-founder Peter Green at the London Palladium featuring Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, Steven Tyler, Billy Gibbons, Neil Finn, John Mayall, Kirk Hammett and Christine McVie. It’s coming to movie theaters on March 23rd and March 28th and will be released as a live album and DVD on April 30th.

Oh she got a talking-to that's for sure. I'd have to assume Mick rung her up and gave her the marching orders to undo that. Now, that comment above...soooo, safe to say that Neil and Mike aren't part of Fleetwood Mac's future, whatever that may be? They don't have it in their DNA? But, new band?

I'd be surprised if Mike and Neil would be invited back. Just a hunch.

Probably wishful thinking on your part. I wouldn’t be surprised either way if it’s Neil and Mike or Lindsey if the band ever plays again, but I wouldn’t look into Christine’s comments as being some type of clue. Neil and Mike joined the band three years ago for a tour and haven’t made an album with them. It would have been ridiculous to mention them in that particular sentence.

From Rolling Stone:

The comments generated headlines around the world.
Sounds like a successful strategy cooked up by a marketing team!

For all we really know, maybe the TikTok dude was a plant, too. Anything to make social media explode with your band name and music is desirable.

But all this analysis over whether the band is alive or dead is akin to debates about religious creed. For a band to be “alive,” it has to either record or perform, no? I guess it can also temporarily maintain in limbo, too. But ultimately it has to get down to business at some point if it’s going to be a band. You can’t perform much at the moment (although I guess you could perform in a virtual environment), so that leaves recording. Once again, this damn band — no matter who’s in it — is just languishing. No real activity of any sort. If you think that releasing a TikTok response is “activity,” just go away from me because you are a moron and not worth talking to seriously. Musicians can do their thing even during a pandemic: Dylan released an album, Lady Gaga released an album, Taylor Swift released an album, the Strokes released an album, the Black Eyed Peas released an album, Stevie’s lovelies Haim released an album, and on and on. Fleetwood Mac has been off the road since November 2019 — over a year — and its longtime members don’t even know what the group is going to do in the future. It’s so typical of the Mac and also laugh-inducing. I think Fleetwood Mac could trend in social media for probably ten years without actually doing anything as a band, and maybe that’s the plan.

You could argue that Fleetwood Mac as an intact (ALL '75 members) actively recording band has been dead since 1997 due to Christine's absence for Say You Will.

They've been able to contractually agree to which venue, which city, and when they all need to show up at for concert dates (in various lineup configurations) and that's about it.

Lindsey was able to "heard the sheep" into a room for various sessions that came to be the E.P and then again with Christine's return that became Buckingham McVie.

It's such a shame so much time/energy was wasted kissing somebody's a$$, when so much other ground could of been covered before age became a factor.

Having listened to the interview, I was struck by how Christine-bless her- sounded as if she was showing her years
As regards her comments on the band, I think that she may not have been expecting this question and hence 'fluffed it' a bit in her answer: her reference to John not being well would appear to be about his cancer back in 2013, rather than anything recent( notice the way that she tried to clarify this comment by saying "he's fine")
Let's face it :90% of the questions she is always asked are about Chicken Shack, joining Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey and Stevie joining, Rumours, blah, blah blah....and she has these answers/replies off by heart.
The question that she was asked was one to which she genuinely did not know the answer- and nor , do I suspect, does anyone!

Well the interview wasn’t live...it was recorded at The Americana Awards on 28th January and didn’t air till 7th Feb, on Johnnie Walker show.

So either Christine or management could have taken the statement out..

I think she had a stinking cold and was under the weather, normally she’s a very safe pair of hands, but she made a slip up.....and had her hand smacked!!

I agree with everything you wrote. She did not sound so well. But she was honest and sincere with her comments. However, she did not understand the giant controversy she was going to cause. No one has discussed anything especially about tours so it was silly for her to predict in a subtle way what she thinks will happen. I sensed it right away with the way she spoke. As history shows, no one can ever predict what Fleetwood Mac will ever do.
Mick probably had a cow. The phone conversation went something like this.

Mick: Hello dear Christine
Christine: Oh hi Mick
Mick: You know you have always been like a sister to me, right.
Christine: yeah.....
Mick: You know I have this live album coming out and trying to live off these sales. I even tried to sell Biddy's old undies. I need money Chris.....so why in bloody hell did you say Fleetwood Mac is done with Stevie and John out? I need them Chris. No one will buy tickets to my meet and greet if Stevie is not around. You know that.
Christine: I'm sorry Mick, I did not mean anything by it. I will call Rolling Stone and clarify.
Mick: Thanks dear. You always will be the songbird of Fleetwood Mac. I dont care what Stevie has said about you in the past. Toodles!

Seems like Stevie's plan. Live off your "legendary" status and just get lots of stories that pop up in the press to keep your name out there and create the impression you are doing something. Stevie will NEVER, EVER, EVER publicly say she is "retired" because, let's face it, she defines her whole existence on the planet by her career. Chris saying Stevie won't tour again with FM takes Stevie off the list of top-touring acts and that will.not.do. She can't have #1 albums anymore but dammit she can still be in a top-grossing act.

That's what's frustrating about LB-- he's the one who actually seems to WANT to keep creating, and certainly can without the band, and isn't.... If he has any remote dreams that yet another LB solo album can morph into a big FM project/album he needs one of his wife's horses to give him a swift kick. Get on with it already.

Or, maybe he‘s holding out for LBCM2 or some other Fleetwood Mac offshoot. The Medium Machine is surprisingly preferable to the Small Machine when you’re not allowed to be in the Big Machine anymore.

please stop saying stuff like this. we do not need another [original] Gift of Screws repeat. no more rolling solo projects into Mac. one GOS tragedy was enough. :distress:

no matter how much some people here seem to be clamoring and insisting that Lindsey needs Mac, or Mac members, he doesn't. sure for friendship, but not for his career or his legacy.

he's not Mick and doesn't need money, plus his last few solo tours have been making money anyway. he needs artistic fulfillment. he needs to add albums to his legacy, the ones he has completed or in the making. what he doesn't need is to wait. so i'm with you there. that album needs to start getting out slowly - start releasing singles.

If she got a call from anybody, it was only to clarify this person‘s or that person’s standing with the band, not lecture her. Christine is almost 78, has been a part of Fleetwood Mac to some degree since April, 1968, and has written most of their hits. Stevie isn’t in a position to lecture her. THIS is why:

Seems like Stevie's plan. Live off your "legendary" status and just get lots of stories that pop up in the press to keep your name out there and create the impression you are doing something. The implication of this suggests that since the big touring days are over, Mick, Christine, and Mike now have the power, not Stevie. It was one thing during the LBCM days when Fleetwood Mac still had at least one more huge payday tour in it. That’s not the case anymore. If I were those three, I’d give her an ultimatum to make an album or be fired. Have the termination letter and a press release ready ahead of time. Stevie would be publicity humiliated, lose an income stream outside of her solo career, and Mike could threaten to bar her from any Heartbreakers reunion/tribute show.

Food for thought.

Sure, his last few tours made money. One was him and a karaoke machine, one was with Christine, and the last benefited from his firing from Fleetwood Mac.

Whether or not Lindsey needs the money is irrelevant. Lindsey is in business and making money is a priority. Why do you think he’s been waiting to release it when he could tour behind it? He needs to promote it. If it was just about the art, he wouldn’t have signed to a label.

History has shown that whenever Lindsey teams up with Mick, his music gets much more attention than if he goes it alone. And, with Mick gushing about him in recent interviews, what’s the single easiest way for Lindsey to promote his music at this point?

right, like BuckVie? Mick was on it and gushing about it.

the main sales it had was because of Christine and BBC advertising the sh*t out of it in the UK, where it was like #2 or something on the charts for a good long time. and they were stupid enough not to tour there.

Mick's presence and gushing about it did absolutely nothing for BuckVie album. and if he was on the tour with them, it would have been the same.

what history has shown is that Fleetwood Mac is a brand.

right, like BuckVie? Mick was on it and gushing about it.

It still charted in the Top 20 (#17) in the USA, which is significantly higher than any of his solo albums.

L&O was his highest (#32), driven by his Top 10 hit, “Trouble,” and we remember who played drums on that.

Christine was speaking honestly in that BBC interview. Her comments were very likely based on conversations she has had with various band members.

It is equally likely that Irving Azoff and Mick blew gaskets for different reasons. Azoff is looking out for the viability of his start client (Stevie). Fleetwood refuses to let the Mac torch die, no matter how low the flame burns to the wick.

I’m sure Stevie was pissed by Christine’s comments, too.

I, in turn, applaud Christine for being the same candid, and occasionally loose-lipped conversationalist she has always been.

One thing should be noted. According to Stevie, Christine was willing and eager to work on SAY YOU WILL, but was not willing to tour. Mick and Lindsey argued that this would not bode well for the band’s future. If they’d toured live without her new music, fans might get pissed. They had a point: if they were to survive the retirement of Christine McVie then they had to go full bore without her. But just imagine how awesome SAY YOU WILL would have been had she been allowed to participate!

The album actually would have been listenable and enjoyable!:D Seriously, cut that bloated POS down to 12 songs, with 4 of those being Chris songs.

I actually agree with Lindsey and Dick's argument. IF they had a hit, how could they go tour it without THE hit maker?

They should have let her record, and talked her into a SHORT 15-20 date tour, with no extensions.

This is the end of Fleetwood Mac. Christine may have spoke pre maturely without checking with the band but it’s word. She is back peddling a bit now. It would be embarrassing if they attempted to step on the stage again. I couldn’t even bring myself to see them on their last tour. Sad but true.

Me either. Although I bought a tour shirt from it. Some guy on eBay had them(the real tour shirts) a month ago for $12, including shipping. The front only had the penguins, not the fake guys, so I bought it. The fake guys are on the back though, so I'll have to wear it with a jacket!

No dude, that's not the effing point. The point is, you're incapable of having a conversation that involves talking about the artistic careers between two members of a band without using chart positions to prove their artistic credibility as if that's the only thing that matters.

LOL, it has nothing to do with artistic credibility.

Lindsey has tremendous talent and I think he envisions himself as someone who pushes the creative envelope, but he’s also working within the paradigm of the big label music industry. Compared to guys like Robert Pollard (who’s released over 110 albums since 1986) and Richard Thompson, who will play and release whatever they want, whenever they want, however they want, Lindsey falls short. Sometimes their albums are great, sometimes they’re not, but they don’t dwell on albums for years on end. I had hope for Lindsey with SWS, but then Christine came back and he signed with a label.

I’m not debating that Lindsey could do it on his own. He has done it on his own. However, he’s been sitting on his album for three years so he can tour to PROMOTE it. Given that we’re in the digital age and coming out of a global pandemic, the album won’t sell a lot of copies and the market will be oversaturated with bands on tour and sporting events.

This is where the charts begin to come into play. The charts show that Lindsey gets lost in the mix when he’s on his own. He’s never had a Top 20 album on his own and he’s never not had a Top 20 album whenever he’s worked with Mick. History has shown that the single easiest way to MARKET Lindsey Buckingham, the easiest way to PROMOTE the tour is to somehow involve Mick Fleetwood. And, Mick has made it clear he’d be on board.

But just imagine how awesome SAY YOU WILL would have been had she been allowed to participate!

there's your mistake.

although it might be true. i always thought that was true, but if that's just "according to Stevie" then now i have to doubt it.

all perfectly said, and probably all very close to what happened.

it is really sad that Christine, main FM hitmaker, musical legend and a grand dame of RnR, even after FM is basically over and done, with all her money at 78, has to publicly eat her words and bow down to these people.

hope that 2018-19 tour money was worth it.

I think you need to go back and re-read what I wrote, because what I was saying was exactly what you are saying...

I said that if he thinks he can hang on and turn his solo project yet again into a FM project, he needs to get a kick from one of his wife's horses.... as in, a kick in the head, as in, bad idea. As in, release your damned solo album already.

Here's a direct cut and paste:

"That's what's frustrating about LB-- he's the one who actually seems to WANT to keep creating, and certainly can without the band, and isn't.... If he has any remote dreams that yet another LB solo album can morph into a big FM project/album he needs one of his wife's horses to give him a swift kick. Get on with it already."

ah! yeah must have read too fast and was like - man i didn't expect that from you!

Flashback: Fleetwood Mac Play ‘Little Lies’ on 2014 Reunion Tour With Christine McVie

The singer recently walked back comments indicating that the group might never tour again

ANDY GREENE
FEBRUARY 18, 2021 11:42AM EST

The future of Fleetwood Mac seemed to be in doubt last week when Christine McVie told the BBC that the band might never tour again. “If we do, it will be without John [McVie] and without Stevie [Nicks], I think,” she said. “I think I’m getting a bit too old for it now, especially having had a year off. I don’t know if I can get myself back into it again.”

She went on to explain that John McVie was “feeling a little bit frail” and didn’t have “the heart for it anymore” and that Mick Fleetwood was the only remaining Rumours-era member who would definitely be up for another tour. The off-the-cuff remarks created headlines all over the world, and she walked them back yesterday in a statement to Rolling Stone.

“In no way are any members of Fleetwood Mac ‘done’ with being part of the band,” she said. “If anyone took that from my statement, that was a misperception and not intended. Fleetwood Mac is part of the DNA of who I am, and I know the same is true for Stevie, Mick and John. As for future touring………Who knows. We continue to hope for the best.”

The future of Fleetwood Mac has been a murky thing for decades now and the touring lineup changes with great regularity. Despite all the shows they’ve done in the past 35 years, they’ve only gone out with the complete Rumours line-up for the brief Dance tour in 1997 and the 2014–15 On With the Show outing. All the other tours were either missing Christine McVie or Lindsey Buckingham. And even that’s discounting the 1995 tour that was just Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, and a bunch of ringers playing dates with REO Speedwagon and Pat Benatar.

Christine McVie Clarifies 'Misperception' That Fleetwood Mac Is 'Done'

Here’s video of McVie singing the 1987 Fleetwood Mac hit “Little Lies” at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on October 15th, 2014. It was a glorious tour that welcomed her back into the fold after a 17-year break and played 120 dates all over the world. But the band booted out Lindsey Buckingham prior to the next one in 2018.

As McVie says herself, nobody knows what the future holds for Fleetwood Mac. But with everyone now in their seventies, there’s only so many remaining years where all five of them will be fit to handle the strains of a world tour. Let’s hope they find a way to make peace with Lindsey Buckingham and give the fans a proper farewell tour while it’s still possible.

The headline “Fleetwood Mac Fires Stevie Nicks” would humiliate Stevie, to be sure.

That would never happen, as it would KILL any tour sales. If they did it, they'd offer her a buyout and ask her to say it was a 'creative difference' issue.

There aren’t going to be any more tours, though. Mick and Mike said as much last year and Christine basically confirmed it. Having lost at least one year which may extend into two years, even a small run of shows here or there is becoming less realistic. They’re still on the table, though. Even if Fleetwood Mac only serves as a way for Stevie to get more attention, it’s a lot of attention, and something she’d hate to lose.

Fleetwood Mac might be in a position to force the issue of an album, which is really the only reason for a non-touring band to exist. At this point, the McVies are ready to wrap it up, so the threat of losing Stevie’s star power doesn’t hold a lot of weight for them. Neil has Crowded House, Mike has the Dirty Knobs and maybe the Heartbreakers (which gives him even more leverage), and Mick will likely have Lindsey.

The big tour paydays are over and everyone who wants work can get it. However, Stevie might benefit the most from Fleetwood Mac still being an entity. Otherwise, she’s just a solo artist and not also the star of a legendary band.

It would not surprise me too much if she recruited Mike and Mick ( who may by then be in serious need of $) as members of her band touring as an almost de facto Fleetwood Mac. She wasted no time in throwing together a box set and touring solo when the Dance reunion ended prematurely with Chris leaving. She even hit many of the cities that they missed on the Fleetwood Mac tour.

no matter how much some people here seem to be clamoring and insisting that Lindsey needs Mac, or Mac members, he doesn't. sure for friendship, but not for his career or his legacy.

The problem is, while his fans have every right to feel this way and this position is more than justified, I am not sure that Lindsey feels this way. He is not the man who left in 1987 and did not look back for 10 years. What he wants and what he should want maybe two different things.

I wonder how many of the fans who feel that way were around in the ‘90s, back when Lindsey thought he didn’t need Fleetwood Mac for his career or his legacy?

OOTC, the masterpiece he had to leave Fleetwood Mac to make, got one of the most glowing reviews I’ve ever read in Rolling Stone and it was heavily promoted. Still, it only peaked at #128. That’s why he’s not the same guy who left Fleetwood Mac in 1987. He got thoroughly humbled by that experience and was back in the picture by 1995, two years after the OOTC tour (hence Time being DOA).

Lindsey doesn’t lose anything by putting Mick on drums, though. The actual art doesn’t suffer. His songs and sonic textures don’t change. If anything, adding Mick would give the songs a more organic feel compared to how Lindsey usually does the drums, and give Lindsey more attention with the association of the Fleetwood name.

ETA: It will also give him a new five minute psychobabble-laden speech on healing, forgiveness, and growth.

i agree with you that artistically, Mick is a plus. for any releases, yes.

however, Mick on tour is overpriced and makes the tickets more expensive for fans. he will want to make more money than on MFBB solo band - where he makes money by $400+ M&Gs.

meanwhile, Lindsey has now figured out he can make money on solo tours by doing relatively cheap M&Gs ($250-300), sell VIP packages, and have market-priced ticket sales (ie variable prices depending on the demand) - while his prices are still very affordable for fans.

Mick added to Lindsey solo tour would raise the price for fans and probably create less profit for Lindsey, since Mick would want to make at least as much as he's making with his overpriced MFBB M&Gs. Mick has not done any FM or MFBB / solo tours without his overpriced M&Gs for more than a decade now. i don't see him starting now, just for the pleasure of playing unless he all of the sudden has reverse in personality.

if there was FM 4 project with Mick, Chris, Lindsey and John starting with issuing a new release, i could get on board of that. as long as there's no Stevie who would hold the project hostage as she had been for the last 2 decades.

SteveMacD
02-22-2021, 04:10 PM
I’m not sure the price of M&Gs is a convincing justification for not adding Mick. Touring generates the most income for artists these days, and adding Mick would likely lead to bigger venues.

i've heard many breathing a sigh of relief when we found out Mick will not be a part of BuckVie touring band. the price of tickets, interacting with performers on stage, and therefor proximity to the stage is important to many fans i know. it obviously is not important to you, and that's ok.

Mick and his band play bars, vineyards, and tiny clubs. i really don't understand why you think that somehow adding him would expand the venue sizes - plus again, even if that would be the case, why would fans want to see shows in larger venues? if i can see any of my favorite stadium bands in clubs or theaters, i would definitely prefer that.

If Mick and Lindsey were to do live shows together, I believe it would be billed Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham. I can't see Mick as a member of Lindsey's band. Yes he'd play the drums with Lindsey, however I'd see it being Lindsey and Mick's band.

you can't have it both ways - you cannot argue Mick's name fills venues right after acknowledging his name doesn't fill venues and he plays just miniature ones. yes, Fleetwood is known name, yet evidence is there that name alone does not draw people to see him.

yes, that's the most he could get.

which again, would lead to Mick trying to get a portion of seats in the front for his M&Gs. if his M&Gs don't come with seats, then all good, whoever wants to pay to listen to him rambling is welcome to! did we ever find out how many people bought those Mick m&gs without tickets at the fakewoods' tour?

Maybe better to say "it can't be both ways" because I don't want to "have" anything:laugh:

One thing I'd pose is perhaps the evidence out there for Mick's concert attendance draw might not be reflective of his draw now. And it might not be his drumming that draws people but just the word Fleetwood next to Lindsey's name that gets an unusual ticket buyer to bite.

Stevie from 2011-2012 wasn't playing full houses unless they were theatres or casinos. Then in 2016 she was playing the Verizon Center and MSG.
Maybe Mick could do the 930 or the Howard Theatre nowadays bc of TikTok, American Horror Story, and wherever else Mac's been mainstreamed daily.

good point about Stevie's popularity after AHS and possibly similar spike of Mick's popularity after tiktok.

Mick can try touring and see how he's faring. he definitely made a good business decision jumping on that train immediately and being subsequently featured in all tiktok commercials. :)

so maybe Mac 4 tour without Stevie is something they could try, but after releasing an album first - so hey, they should work on it now since they are stuck at their homes anyway! otherwise, i guess they could do BuckVie part 2 under Fleetwood Mac moniker, but that's rehashing of the tour we already had, so unless they seriously shake up Mac and Buckvie setlists and add stuff like WATLs and Christine's deep cuts, personally i'd have not that much interest in it.

that said, remember in 2018, Christine was going to show up as a special guest at some of the Lindsey solo dates, when he was planning solo gigs in between FM ones.

either way, y'all are getting me off track here  - we need Lindsey solo tour first for the new album, once when touring starts again!

One would assume that they would be playing larger venues because there would be more demand.

And, I’m not worried about anything. Lindsey can play smaller venues as a solo artist, Mick can fall back on the blues...Everybody who wants to work can find a way to make a buck.

However, I also get that playing a two hour show to 2500 people is the same amount of work as playing to 4000.

i've heard many breathing a sigh of relief when we found out Mick will not be a part of BuckVie touring band.

“Many on the Internet” is anecdotal. All of the TeamLindsey FB crowd wouldn’t have made up one section of the crowd at a Fleetwood Mac show.

Mick and his band play bars, vineyards, and tiny clubs.

Yeah, and they made a Grammy-nominated album...

Mick Fleetwood on his own isn’t a huge draw. He doesn’t sing or write songs, he’s just a drummer. However, he has the “Fleetwood” name and Lindsey’s most critically acclaimed work was with the “Fleetwood” name. So, for Lindsey, including Mick Fleetwood means a bigger show.

“Fleetwood Buckingham” would get much more attention than either the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band or Lindsey Buckingham.

Did Mick write the orchestral/horns part of Tusk or was that Lindsey?

I know Tusk is listed as written by Lindsey but I thought Mick wrote that horn part that comes in after the drum break

Mick had the idea to add a brass band, but neither actually wrote the arrangement for the marching band. Neither read music.

That was it. I remember reading that in Play On now. Mick wanted USC Band to join them at the Forum in 2014 he writes in his book.

If Mac ever did a farewell gig at the LA Coliseum, I'd go for sure just at the chance of the marching band joining for Tusk.

I heard UCLA Band play Satisfaction before the Stones came on at Staples and it was freaking amazing.

I see them sharing the billing, kind of like Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, or Matthews and Reynolds

If they toured together, they could call it the Young Mr. Rockcock tour. The T-shirts could have all sorts of text designs:

Irving has bigger balls than anyone. And he's worth 350 million.

not sure whether you saw when Lindsey did a Q&A at USC several years back, and it ended with him and USC marching band doing Tusk and GYOW. USC dept that organized it put the whole thing on youtube, very bice recording and very cool gig.

there's your mistake.

although it might be true. i always thought that was true, but if that's just "according to Stevie" then now i have to doubt it.

I remember an interview that Mick did where he said he had dinner with Christine in the UK and asked about a new FM album and she said she'd be on board to record but not to tour so it was basically thanks but no thanks.

He told me something along those lines when I met him in 2009.

yep - did you all see this? Irv has plans for end of 22 - 3-5 nights of Eagles for his new areana(s) regarless of them being in at least mid 70s by then, plus i'm sure some milking of the whole Beach Boys catalog he just bought - plus if anyone is still holding on to a big Fleetwood Mac Classic Rumours 5 reunion, this will be where it happens if IA can help it!

I think Mick would rather play with Neil than Lindsey though.

A recent interview makes it pretty clear that he really wants to work with Lindsey. He also wants to work with Neil and Mike, but I think he (understandably) feels a deep connection to Lindsey.

I don’t know if Lindsey can ever be in Fleetwood Mac again, so having Mick on board is at least medium machine, which is good for Lindsey.

yes, like in 2018-19 when he was pooping all over Lindsey every chance he got, and then some. it's a deep deep connection that he feels.

understandably.

I'd love to see it. It's weird...even though the Eagles were always my second favorite band, I never saw them until a couple years ago(obviously after Glenn's death)(and I did see Henley solo probably 6 times, back when his solo career was on fire). When they reunited in 1994, tix were like $300, and I just thought that was too much, so I just never went. I remember tix for the Dance were $90???, and that's the most we'd ever paid for tickets. When you grow up poor, $90 is a lot of money for 2.5 hours of entertainment.

Really, as long as Henley's voice can do the songs, I say more power to them. Walsh and Schmit's voices seem holding up fine, and they've got Vince Gill and Glenn's kid to do Glenn's songs, so again, Henley's voice is the key to them going on as long as possible. I'd love to see them again!

I think FM are a lot closer to the final chapter of their book than the Eagles.

So Lindsey can sing the praises of the festival, like Classic West?
