@MickFleetwood you are so busy telling the world how “unhappy” the band was. It would have been nice if you told Lindsey that. He’s still wondering what happened. You are a dishonest coward and I have zero respect for you. That goes for all of you FM,you really suck @fleetwoodmac

thanks. i posted it in Rumours forum since it's about the band, specifically in Mick interviews thread considering it looks like she's replying to Mick's bs in those interviews and then providing us with some additional info.

but it's probably good to discuss it here too. i'm just sad Bucks have to go through this crap, like they don't have already enough real health problems to deal with.

apparently Lindsey would like to know that too.

and also, who all was unhappy. because Mick implied it was all of them including Lindsey being unhappy too. seems that's news to Lindsey.

Goodness, I love Kristen so much, she is just fierce and awesome and protective and kind and honest.

That FM group of a**hats are going to get their comeuppance one of these days. They are the most lying, cruel, idiotic group I have ever seen. Karma is a b***h.

I used to be mad at St$vie and M$ck. Now, I get more and more mad at all 4 of them.......because at any point, any one of them could have stopped this cruel act of bitterness. Chris and John are just as annoyingly complicit with this behavior, and could have reached out to him (and more than Christine's one stupid email, and John's pathetic quick reply to Lindsey's email) or defended him. Shame on you John, after Lindsey defended you. Shame on all 4 of you.

Notice how none of them ever state what actually was the "issue" or the "unhappiness?"

Karma, all 4 of you, just watch over your shoulder for Karma.

I think we all would like to know the root of this unhappiness. I’ve said it before, and been slammed for it, the lack of promotion around this incarnation is pretty obvious. They are playing MSG this week, normally we would seen them on the Today show or Good Morning America around their NYC dates ( and yes I am waiting for someone to respond with “it’s sold out why bother”) but it was sold out in 2015 when Christine came back and they played the Today show. Mick/ Stevie/John/Chris, you have an actual Heartbreaker and the lead singer of Crowded House, isn’t that as big as one of the Rumours 5 coming back, or leaving???? But when you need to tell the tale about why he left, and 12 months in none of you are on the same page....well maybe live television isn’t the way to go.

I believe you're referring to the Summer Concert Series that both the Today show and Good Morning America have. Since this is March, Fleetwood Mac wouldn't perform an outdoor show. A very simple explanation.

I also don't think FM is afraid to appear on live television, especially Today or GMA. None of the morning shows would ask hard questions, I mean those chat shows are not known for their investigative journalism.

It's not always a summer concert series. In 2014 they played in October. In 2003 they played in April and Stevie rocked a full length fur to keep her warm. Other artists, Stevie included, have play indoors at the studio. As far as hard hitting investigative journalism, these anchors have interviewed presidents and dictators, I think they could snuff out a line or 2 (no pun intended actually) from this group. I belleve they are avoiding any kind of press around this tour. They aren't willing to publicly get called on the carpet for the decisions they made, so a random weird soundbite here and there is what they are tossing out. If you go back and look at any press around any of their tours before 2018, this tour is decidedly different.

Any real journalist would be hammering the question of why Lindsey was fired.

Exactly---I think they are deliberately
avoiding having to answer the question in a forum that cannot be scripted/edited out.
The Anthony Mason interview was a DISASTER. Their appearance on Ellen was hideous. Sound bites given out to the NY Post, or Newsday---that will suffice for now. And I am sure the same will happen when they hit EU and NZ/AUS--perhaps in NZ/AUS Neil will actually give a proper interview. He and Mike have actually been very respectful of the situation.

Whatever the case before, they certainly can't do broadcast interviews now. It would just remind everyone that the guy they fired just had a heart attack. Even if nothing about it is said, there's no avoiding those optics.

Funny how Mick Fleetwood always said they were the most poorly run band in the business, he left off the second part....run by the the most terrible people in the business.

Christine though, so so low. They just worked together and Lindsey made such an effort to welcome her back into the fold of the band. She just stands by and acts like she was a victim because she wasn't steering the ship that decided to throw lindsey overboard.

Screw all 4 of them.

And really, as one of the front people, what she says carries more weight than what John and Mick say in the eyes of bean counters like Azoff.

Plus, it distresses me that John has stopped talking. I want to know him. I feel that I knew him more in the early days. I don’t now, but I would like to speculate that Christine planting her feet against the ouster would have made him stand up against Mick too.

On the other hand, I still do not know what he meant when he said that Christina was fragile. Maybe there is something going on with her that we don’t know about, aside from her just being two-faced and horrible.

David was saying he lost 80% of respect for the McVie’s and I thought quantifying it was good. I can just say I still have reluctant feelings of love for them that I cannot shrug, even though I want to. The warmest feeling I could ever have for Mick and Stevie is apathy. I never really liked Mick, but I was once enchanted by Stevie and a great fan of her songs, even up to IYD (but not the horrid Cheaper than Free). I saw more than 100 of her shows. Now, only venom remains, after the glitter fades.

They are all disgusting. The tour will end. Mike and Neil will go back to their real jobs, because they are artists that want to create. I don't think Stevie wants that, and Christine won't without an external influence (Lindsey, or maybe Mike or Neil now...theres so much love there ya know) and these 4 people will have to look at themselves in the mirror. It has taken me a while, but I agree now with you fully. I was so willing to give Chris and John a pass, because I thought there was no way they could have done something so cruel. But I will admit that I was wrong, and it's because they have shown no compassion since this all happened, and with Lindsey's health crisis. The f*****g least they could have done was contact him after that. But f*****g crickets is all the guy is getting.

Mike and Neil won’t waste their time on Christine. Only Lindsey was willing to work on her music.

FM has become a job for all of them, no matter how much they want to sell the perfect family image. Once this tour is over they will all go their own way. And Stevie will be left alone with her thoughts....

Yes, many of them have sunset clauses at 10 years and also have terms that change upon specific events, like the birth of children. I should add that because they live in California, their marriage is treated differently after 10 years, for alimony calculation purposes. That's not true in all states.

I don’t get it either nor do I get why Stevie fans even care about her if they all hate/don’t care about Lindsey . She was always so supportive of the band when Lindsey was part of it and seems to be a great mom/wife/horse lady. And the term gold-digger is laced in such ridiculous comical misogyny I can’t believe people still use it.

Kristen is a wonderful wife indeed. I'm not gonna lie, I do like to read SteviexLindsey fanfics every now and again (provided they're not overtly sexual). But I can't handle the ones that take place after Lindsey's marriage and involve him being a cheater. Kristen is just such a wonderful and supportive wife that, even if its just the fictional world, I can't deal with her being mistreated like that. Its even worse when they villainize her.

I remember when Stella was born. People were saying that Kristen was standing in the wings taunting Stevie with the baby and upsetting her. And they faulted Kristen for not having headphones on the baby too. It was pretty hilarious.

Kristen has given me many a laugh. The pears. The 3000 clashing picture frames in her parlor. The spy hat and sunglasses she was wearing when she and Lindsey were ... I don't even know where the heck they were, any longer. But it was one of the funniest threads here I can recall.

But she's been stalwart and true and it made me go back and rethink When She Comes Down, because you know I had something flip to say about it when it came out. I'm just very thankful to have her.

yeah i've been trying to read some new info from this. and there's def some new info there:

It would have been nice if you told Lindsey that. He’s still wondering what happened. You are a dishonest coward and I have zero respect for you. That goes for all of you FM,you really suck @fleetwoodmac

while they've been on the road and probably not physically in LA at any time since end of Jan, they could have called. even if Kristen screens calls (which considering, i'd think it would definitely be purely medically recommended), they could have told her something from what she would figure out whether the call is friendly and reconciliatory and would cheer him up or the call is just gonna be trying to stir yet another fight. so sounds like there were no conciliatory calls, and definitely no calls explaining wtf happened a year-plus ago.

and the worse thing?? he is still wondering. :distress: he is still trying to figure it out. even though back in Dec in CBS / Mason interview he seemed resigned to probably never knowing.

depends on the story. AMA? not so much. running barefoot through DC? not so much. violence episodes? i usually go with believe the woman. Eric Clapton and darts in the cold english castle story? i find that one amusing so i'll go with believing in that one. Lindsey's fetish for shoulders? i think there's a lot of evidence for that one. so i think it's pretty fair assumption that her stories and interpretations are hit and miss and hard to say which ones are exactly true and which ones are embellished. a lot of dark stuff but also a lot of fun read in Carol's book.

Yes, this is the bottom line. The band's over. O-V-E-R. No matter how much they try to sell this joke of a new lineup, it isn't authentic, it isn't real. As Mark Twain once wrote in the voice of Huck, "You can't pray a lie."

I personally don't feel any desire to trash them. Finn was awesome in Crowded House and I like some of his solo stuff. Mike of course was always a vital part of The Heartbreakers... but neither of them belong in Fleetwood Mac. And yet they are in Fleetwood Mac. Mike Campbell knew what was going on, how Lindsey was being fired and looked the other way. Neil Finn probably found out later and also looked the other way. What did Kristen do? Married Lindsey and had his children? Don’t Stevie’s cultists hate Lindsey? Then, I don’t see the problem here.

Btw, a cult needs more than 12 people. Needs more than a half empty theater. It needs an arena. Those that Stevie fills alone night after night.

It’s weird to see so many Lindsey’s haters here...

Mike Campbell knew what was going on, how Lindsey was being fired and looked the other way. Neil Finn probably found out later and also looked the other way.

They didn’t know what was going on until after it had already happened. If they hadn’t joined, the band would have found others.

What did Kristen do?

Kristen is “the other woman,” the one who occupies a place once held by Stevie. The Stevie fans had an almost identical, if not more severe reaction to Bekka Bramlett. Lindsey/Rumours-only lineup fans are acting the same way about Neil and Mike now.

It’s weird to see so many Lindsey’s haters here...

Not a hater. I’ve seen him more than any of the others outside of the band.

Stevie is certainly reflective. Her views/opinions do change as time go on. If I had to predict, I think she will regret this decision. There's absolutely no chance Mick, John and Chris can do another tour. This is it. You know Stevie will take 3 years to do whatever she wants to do. They can't wait that long. I feel that this is the end of FM touring/performing.

Love Kristen. She just tells it like she feels it. I too gave Chris and John a pass, but John and Chris still have a huge say in what goes on in Fleetwood Mac. Are they that worried about money that Stevie really has all the power now? I believe so.

There are no ticket sales without Stevie. Bottom line is all about the money for these people. Sad.

But what do they need money for? John only has one kid. Surely, he will be leaving her millions already.

Christine has always had lavish, lovely homes, but she can already afford them. I know she wants to leave all of John Perfect's kids something, but she sold her music catalog and made a lot of money already. I can understand wanting more money, but I can't understand wanting it so much that there are no lines you won't cross to get it.

This made me think of what motivates them, along with money. I mean, how long realistically will Stevie be happy dancing in her beach apartment ?? Chris found out the hard way locked away in Kent.

https://ultimateclassicrock.com/geezer-butler-black-sabbath-retired/

Former Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler said he “went nuts” with boredom after the band ended its career.

They played their final show in February 2017, after which he initially enjoyed the feeling of having no calls on his time – but that feeling didn’t last.

“After 18 months of retirement, I would have said yes to anything,” Butler told Billboard. “After Sabbath finished, I just wanted to take time off and wake up every day and think, ‘Oh, great, I’ve got nothing to do today.’ That was okay for a year. After I put on about 20 pounds and watched every TV show there was, I just went nuts.”

He said he’d spent “a couple months” not playing any music before he started considering the possibility of a solo album, but around that point came the invitation to join Deadland Ritual alongside ex Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens and Apocalyptica vocalist Franky Perez.

“We sat down at my favorite vegan restaurant, Crossroads on Melrose Avenue, and talked about different music, and the kind of things I was thinking about,” he recalled. “And the end of it, they all say, 'We want you to join the band. Do you want to join?' And I says, 'Yeah.’”

i have no idea what Stevie fans' reaction to Bekka was, and if they felt that she doesn't sound good singing Stevie's lines and harmonies like Lindsey and Classic lineup fans feel now about both vocals and guitar, i can understand Bekka-Campbell/Finn comparison. but nobody compared them to Bekka here, and you compared them to Kristen, not Bekka.

you compared a pure hate and defamation of someone's wife that nobody really knows much about yet people feel free calling her nastiest possible names, to fans not accepting the sound of the new band.

They didn’t know what was going on until after it had already happened.

I highly doubt that will ever happen. The bloom is off the rose...it was before she got him fired, and it sure as hell is now.

They should have toured BN in 1998 after Chris left. The momentum was there, it was the 25th anniversary of its release...they were huge with The Dance...it was the perfect time.

Forget it now, she'd probably want to call it Nicks with Buckingham.

Why would she regret something she has been waiting all her life to achieve? She FINALLY got rid of him.

By all accounts she was furious and upset when he left FM in 1987. Also, according to Billy Burnette's book, Stevie was the one who requested Lindsey perform with FM at Bill Clinton's inauguration, which upset Billy. And then, there were the tours she went on with Lindsey after Christine left, plus the recording of Say You Will. So what you said is not accurate. It would appear that it was only fairly recently she wanted him out of the band, not "all her life."

She didn’t “request” Lindsey to perform with FM at the Bill Clinton’s inauguration. She told him that if he didn’t do it she would “never speak to him again”. She was thinking more about Clinton than Lindsey here. How bad it would look if he didn’t join them.

Say you will? Really? Did I need to recount all her nasty comments about that recording and about him?

She had wanted him out of the band since The Dance.

She had wanted him out of the band since The Dance.

She's probably wanted to kill him since the seventies, but I don't think she's wanted him out of the band until the last few years, maybe after Christine returned.

She didn't want him to leave in 1987 and she wanted them all together for The Dance and after. If Christine had been with them when SYW came out and she was still mad at him about the recording process, then I suppose she would have started wanting him out of the band then. But Christine wasn't there and she lacked options. If they were going to tour as FM, they needed at least two of the singers. So, she realized he was needed in FM. Maybe if she got Sheryl Crow in and the fans really liked Crow, then she would have started trying to push Lindsey out then. But as it was, I don't think she really envisioned or wanted FM without him until Christine returned.

Christine came back, he kept pushing for a new album and getting on her nerves. He kept foolishly thinking he was still her equal. Heads had to roll.

I agree with this. But I also think he’s wanted to kill her too. Who knows what the final straw was. If it really was just a smirk, she is well and truly insane. There is a fine line between love and hate. And I do think even now, they both love and hate each other. The lack of any reference of Lindsey by the band of him being a crucial and critical part of this band’s legacy is almost sociopathic. It really makes my wonder if they are truly discounting all of this and when they tour is over, they think they can call him up as if this last year (year and a half by the time this tour is finally over) never happened?

You know, about Christine, unless she just totally hates Lindsey's guts, what is her problem??

I mean, she's kind of bullet proof. What could Stevie have done to her if she didn't take Stevie's side? Stevie could refuse to tour, but let's be honest, Stevie wants the FM money as well. If she flounced off and refused to tour, she would only hold out another year and then she'd cave in and do another tour, even if she said she wouldn't. But refusing to tour is the only power Stevie has over Christine.

Stevie can't push Christine out of the band, because she'd look awful. What would that do to her public image, mistreating another woman who is a musician (unlike Stevie), who is responsible for some of the band's hookiest (if not deepest) tunes, who is older than Stevie and who is not widely thought to be as sexy. I mean, Christine looks great to me, but I mean the general public. Stevie would look like the "mean girl" and self-centered bully if she tried to get rid of Christine. So, Christine could basically curse Stevie out and say she would never agree to firing Lindsey. Stevie would have no recourse. Why couldn't Christine just stand up to her.

Christine used to tell people off all the time. Remember how Mick said that Stevie tried to throw a tantrum because she wasn't on Tango and Christine told her off and said the reason she wasn't on Tango was because she wasn't there? Christine made Stevie pipe down. She was like, "I'm sorry you're not on Tango. I wanted you on my Tango songs, but YOU WEREN'T HERE, SO SHUT UP." She had no problem treating Stevie like the little sister that you had to tell to be quiet.

I guess being away from the band for so long made her feel that she had to be humble and meek when she returned. She had to be grateful to them for letting her back, but FORGET that.

Well, I think that old age HAS caught her(as in when Lindsey called her fragile). I think she's getting shaky in her confidence and mobility. Yes, we know that she SHOULD have stopped it, but she didn't. Yet, unless she's a completely doddering old incompetent fool, I'll always hold her partially to blame.

I think this is it, 100%. She feels "lucky" that they let her return, and I would be willing to bet that she feels like she lost her place in the pecking order when she left.

I do agree with you though........where is the woman who would have slapped Stevie silly, when Stevie started her temper tantrum to get rid of Lindsey?? It's just ridiculous that she hasn't spoken to Lindsey, that any of them, esp after the medical crisis, haven't reached out to him. It's beyond anything I could have ever expected. I thought these were decent people, well was I wrong. Lindsey seems to be the only one who has any sense and morals and kindness.

we'll see what Christine says in that Mojo interview coming out next week. if she throws Lindsey under the bus than all the excuses we are trying to come up with in here are swept away. you can only be complacent so much, before you are as bad as people you are appeasing.

Bob getting fired from GbV would be like John Mayall getting fired from the Bluesbreakers, Stan Webb getting fired from Chicken Shack, or Neil Finn getting fired from Crowded House. Those bands are based solely around one artist and the other members are employees.

That’s never been the case with Fleetwood Mac. Peter Green went out of his way to make sure of that.

Stevie could have quit, which would have ended any hope of a big tour. Let’s be honest, 2017 proved that Stevie doesn’t exactly need the band anymore. She was playing large arenas while LBCM were playing small to mid-sized amphitheaters.

At that point, Lindsey would have demanded a delay, since they wouldn’t be in a position to say no. So, Christine would have had to stop working for at least a year and hang her hopes on Lindsey being expedient with his project. Then, he’d demand the band record another album before hitting the road, which would further put them at the mercy of his expediency.

OR, she could side with Stevie, definitely get the big tour right away, maybe another album (band or otherwise), and not have to stop.

She’s almost 76. Seriously, what were her choices?

while you made up a whole bunch of scenarios, the only scenario we know about was that Lindsey was gonna do a short solo tour (he did 2 months!), and that Christine considered dropping in on his tour, according to Rick Turner.

the year of delays, new album, etc etc are purely your speculation and not grounded in any facts.

now, would it be better option for Christine to satisfy her creative juices and make another album at 76, or waste another 1.5 year on greatest hits same ole world tour, after already spending 2014, 2015 and 2017 touring?

and for 5000th time - Fleetwood Mac brand sells. which you yourself were saying in 2017 when you wanted BuckVie to be branded FM (and you have that same argument about your main GbV guy), but now you are conveniently forgetting all about it. so yeah maybe they would be selling out mostly amphitheaters instead of arenas without Stevie. still fine, respectable, and lucrative.

She has now the best of both worlds: the adulation, the money, and a tour without Lindsey and with her favorite people.

She just can’t hide her happiness anymore.
Wonder what’s gonna happen once her dreamy tour ends.

But that’s when you call her bluff. She wasn’t really going to quit yet. She likes the Hollywood of Fleetwood Mac. She’d want to do it one more time, even if she said she wouldn’t to win an argument.

Do you tour with Fleetwood Mac or open for Rod Stewart?
Hey! Excuse me! I love Rod Stewart.

I hope the latter three are in her near future. Well, dementia has probably already happened, given her psychotic judgements in the past year or two...

Stevie Nicks is not a quitter. Bit of a backstabber sure, but one thing she does not do and would never do, is quit. She should have quit while she was ahead and allow Buckingham McVie to forge ahead as a duo, or for the BuckVie studio quartet to tour as the new Fleetwood Mac. But Stevie never quits, especially not when she is ahead.

You wag.

Seriously, now, M'Lady Stevie's got a few things in her future: the Hall of Fame honor, her latest package (is that out yet?), and of course Fleetwood Mac's tour schedule. My hunch is that live performance, with Fleetwood or on her own, is going to be the linchpin of her public life, as it's been for a long time now. She does lots of other little fritty projects, like cameos on dumb TV shows and recording songs with a train of adulatory musicians, but none of those things is long term. Notice that? Stevie has never liked long-term inward-focused work—work that takes intense concentration—like making albums in the studio or writing books. She's very solitary—but she's really not very solitary. She's the eternal work-as-party girl. I think I know why her Rhiannon script idea never came to fruition: it's long-lasting, solitary work (even if Karen is in the room with her), and she doesn't have the drive for it, whether she writes the screenplay or just "oversees" it. Even her cameos on TV, from Up All Night to American Horror Story, obviously take her no more than a single day, maybe two, to film, and all they require of her is to be . . . her.

The other Macsters have always said Stevie gets bored in the studio. She'd prefer to sing live, where she can emote and sing one song once for the night and get high on the overwhelming immediacy of the audience's response. (Remember how her voice and face seemed to fall when she had to redo parts of her Melbourne concert with the orchestra because someone failed to record it?)

This use of touring as some sort of psychological bulwark against sitting at home, turning inward, has been Stevie's life since she hit 50 and it's going to continue being her life. It's what we'll see from her next year and the year after, and so on. No mystery, really. She even said in that most recent magazine interview that she has no intention of quitting—touring.

and the band would be selling out sheds. as Sting does. and Robert Plant. and the Cure. and David Byrne. and Rod Stewart. nothing wrong with that.

except Mick is too greedy. and who knows what kind of favors he called in from Christine and John so that one or both of them don't pull the plug. they both should have. they both came out of this looking spineless and greedy and Christine sounds just plain ignorant in that Mojo interview. maybe they put her quotes together that way, so you can't really see what exactly is she talking about, but she came out looking horrible. worse than Mick almost.

Agree with the bolded part - I think it's because fans expect more from Christine. You expect Mick to sound like a complete and total ass but for whatever reason, Chris seems to get the benefit of the doubt. She has come off terrible this whole time and this latest interview is the bottom of the barrel. I have felt all along that both McVie's have to share as much blame as Mick and Stevie. They all went along with this garbage.

But how long can she tour physically? Jerry Lee Lewis just had a stroke, but says he can't wait to hit the road again. He probably will. But Stevie, by contrast, is very conscious of her physical appearance and diminishing mobility. For many people, ditching the heels would not have been a struggle, but for Stevie (and Prince) it was, because she has an image she wants to maintain on stage. I wonder if feeling that she is no longer the person the people came out to see will keep her from touring indefinitely.

these folks get sooo addicted to the role they play to the point that they can't separate themselves from it anymore. We may think, oh, they go onstage and play the star and then come offstage and back to being "normal" people. They don't. I always recall Stevie's comment about being in rehab and them asking her to write or talk (I forget how the therapy exercise went) about Stevie the person vs Stevie the onstage performer, and her saying how hard that was, like the hardest thing she'd ever done ( bit of Stevie dramatic overstatement maybe) but nevertheless that she really came to see herself as the onstage character. She still does. "I'm a legend and I deserve it". And as long as people are making money off her they will continue to coddle her and go along with her attitude.

She won't be able to give it up. The manager of Kiss made a comment about Gene Simmons and how addicted to fame/performing he is saying "When he's 95 he'll be standing at the end of his driveway, holding onto with his walker, flicking his tongue at passing cars". I put Stevie in the same category. She'll be Elizabeth Taylor in her wheelchair, but draped in shawls and beads and wearing a top hat. Karen will have to strain to see over the hat when pushing her around.

I always want to laugh when I see Stevie's ridiculous hunched over twirling "dances" and arm/hand motions on this tour, all clomping around in those platform heels draped in the same shawls and outfits she's been wearing for decades. In my personal opinion, she looks ridiculous. IT IS ALL SO FORCED AND STAGED! There is nothing organic about her. It's the same formula for decades, which she even admits. And WHY wear the platforms?? Her ankles look like they're about to collapse inwards on those things. Just wear different shoes!

Or maybe she's just focusing on more important things like her family and their future together. You know, those things that last forever, instead of a meaningless tour and an induction to whatever that only make you happy for a couple of months. And then, what?:nod:

Forget it now, she'd probably want to call it Nicks with Buckingham.

Now? Try 28 years ago: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twister_(1996_film)#Soundtracks

LOL, a five year old zombie thread!

That said, Buckingham Nicks wasn’t a legal entity in 1996. “Twisted” was a Stevie Nicks song that Lindsey produced and sang on.

And it is on the actual cd as Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. He’s not a featured guest.

The story from a recent Stevie biography is that Stevie personally wanted Lindsey to produce and perform this song with her for the soundtrack: A. To build the bridge back between them and B. Because the song is about their relationship

I ran across the thread searching for my post of Stevie's two quotes: one (from 2018) saying no member has the right to hold up the others when the others had planned and were eager to tour; the other (from 2012) saying she had put her foot down and insisted the others wait an extra year even though they had planned and were eager to tour: https://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?p=1253644&highlight=absolutely#post1253644

Anyway, I've long wondered in what order the following occured:

–this Stevie/Lindsey collaboration floated
–this Stevie/Lindsey collaboration agreed to
–reunion of Rumours lineup floated
–reunion of Runours lineup agreed to

Also wondered whether this collaboration was a trial run to see whether Stevie and Lindsey could tolerate working together again before making the larger commitment of reuniting in FM (and if so whether Lindsey wanted the trial run, Stevie wanted the trial run, or they both did).

TL : DR, kind of.

Also, Mick was on drums.

WBR was pushing for a Fleetwood Mac (Rumours) reunion. Between the inauguration, the successful reunions of The Eagles and Page/Plant, the commercial flops of OOTC and SA, and the turmoil within the new lineup of Fleetwood Mac that was only an opening/oldies act, the only way any label was going to monetize any of them was going to be a Rumours reunion.

Lindsey had submitted a solo album in 1995 that he’d recorded in Hawaii with his 1993 solo band, co-produced by Richard Dashut. However, the label rejected the album and stuck in-house producer Rob Cavallo on him. Rob then brought in Mick Fleetwood.

By that point, the label was too invested in “Time” not to release it, but it wasn’t going to be promoted, and that lineup was officially disbanded at the end of January, 1996, less than four months after “Time” was release.

So, with Lindsey and Mick working together, I have no doubt that the label started pushing the others even harder, and I think this was sort of a trial run, followed by the McVies being brought into Lindsey’s “solo” album (which I suspect was recorded with the others to give it flexibility as to how it could be released).

You have a lot of hate in you. I was agreeing with you that it wasn't like Stevie shafted Lindsey by not giving him credit. It was listed as a duet. I guess it's the same as Leather and Lace though I can't recall how that's listed on the BD tracklist. Stop being angry and looking to attack and hurt.

That had nothing to do with my comment. If anything, it contradicted it because the whole point was “Stevie Nicks & Lindsey Buckingham” wasn’t a legal entity like Buckingham Nicks was.

Furthermore, Lindsey WAS a featured guest. How he was credited is a matter of semantics, but Stevie was the one contracted to do the song. It was her project, not their project. She chose to use Lindsey and to credit him.

Wait, this was a thing? Did any of those Hawaii recordings see the light of day?

I think the acoustic Stones covers.

Thanks.

I had forgotten all about Given Thing and Wear You Down, seeing as they never resurfaced on any albums.

Before she marries Mike Campbell, Mick will need to force Stevie and Neil Finn to have an affair to create the chemistry and energy and passion (albeit fake) this tour is missing
Spot on

Tim Finn, Neil's brother has all of those qualities. Passion, chemistry and incredible energy. Just listen to Split Enz with Tim on lead vocals, singing and performing on 'Poor Boy'. Just fantastic!:]

Luckily, before that happened, I had the chance to see them at Konocti Spa & Resort (I never saw the spa and I overlooked the resort), where I had chicken, rice pilaf, several cups of coffee, and a fortune cookie or something or other. Before I had downed my last cup of coffee, Fleetwood Mac — or a bunch of guys claiming to be Fleetwood Mac — took the stage and started playing “The Chain.” A couple of people in the small audience were overheard as saying, “Hey, I know this song!” The memories are rich and deep for me. May they abide.

Kind of cool, if you think about it. At least it was a different version of The Chain! hahah..

Circling back to the original topic from years ago I was thinking how easy it was for Lindsey to win his civil case and settled out of court with the band. The case had highly unusual circumstances. The 2018 tour was already under contract WITH Lindsey. Even Chris said in 2016 that the contracts were signed and they were definitely going on tour. If the band wanted to go to trial they would have to produce evidence of how and why Lindsey was in breach of the contract. The band's lawyers would be grasping at straws to tell the jury. "Lindsey danced behind Stevie" Those 2 had bad relations. Well what else is new. This clearly was not a case of a band member being fired and then trying to shake down a band or try and get future riches. The band had nothing to stand on which is why they settled really quick.

And I read Lindsey's lawyer was specialized in those kind of cases, and a vwery good one. I wonder how much will his fees have been. :)

It's been a while since I read the lawsuit (someone posted it here I think), but my impression was the lawsuit was about a partnership agreement that was signed years earlier that states that all members have an equal say in the decisions that are made concerning the group. Lindsey obviously didn't agree to be fired, so that rest of the group violated the legal agreement and were at fault. This might also explain why the group weren't more productive over the years since they all had to be in agreement in decisions that affected the group. The managers (Azoff) and lawyers should have known this or maybe they thought Lindsey wouldn't call them on it.

On a different note, Azoff is currently a witness in a criminal case involving the lyrics of songs from Hotel California and Don Henley. Azoff sounds like a real a$$, but I guess that's what makes a good manager.
