Are they really that different from what we have? I’m asking not disagreeing since I haven’t listened.

NO Questions asked is a totally new song -- it sounds amazing. as are some of the old Pre-BN Christine songs. really great remaster. The weird WEIRD thing is that some of these songs (NO Questions asked, Skies the Limit, and more) are remastered on Spotify but are NOT on the CD or Apple Music.

I think so far Love Shines and No Questions Asked have been the ones that have really blown my mind. They should be performing more of these songs!

Say You Will sounds different to my ears. Almost liked either some of the guitars got turned up a notch or something else got turned down. Especially in the beginning 20 seconds.

Say you will is the rare single version.
No questions is not a remix but a poor Remaster. They just Bricked it and amped up ALL the volume and took away the dynamics. Its Flat and loud. Thats all. Its what they do to a lot of music these days to sound “better” on small speakers and headphones. Gone are the days music is Mastered for HiFi and big floor speakers with flat response curves

These remasters make me want to turn it up, up, up!I'm only listening on Spotify. Save Me and the other 1990 tracks don't sound any different from the Chain box on Spotify. I'm spending a little more time with the pre-1975 tracks to see whether I'm pleased with the remastering. So far, my problem is with the 1990 material. Affairs of the Heart is the same washed out misfire that it was on the box. On all three releases, Stevie's lead vocal is mixed like a background vocal. She seems to be singing from the next room over.

Bummer. I haven't listened on vinyl yet but the folks who have are descibing it as perfection. Affairs of the Heart you say? I must hear that. But right now I'm listening to Etta James cover You Go to My Head. Woo, woo, woo. Sigh. :woohoo:

Maybe but it's not the Chris Lord Alge remix. I must dig that out. It's sooo good.

Yes. I have a hard copy somewhere and mp3 just not on this computer. In the version we're talking about on 50 years Sheryl Crow is a little more prominent too.
Additionally in the Destiny Rules doc or some press thing they did around that time Mick is being interview and they're playing SYW and it's yet another mix of the song that hasn't ever surfaced. At least it sounds different to me.

Is it me or is the version on Spotify the old remaster from the very best of fleetwood mac?
Seems the YouTube version is not the one on Spotify? Maybe I'm wrong... It's hard to spot the differences between the original and the remaster anyway.

Fleetwood Mac: 50 Years - Don’t Stop - album review
Career-spanning but hits-heavy collection from Fleetwood Mac
From the Peter Green years to the recent arrival of Neil Finn, in their half-century career Fleetwood Mac have regenerated many times, like a increasingly successful rock Doctor Who.
They began as a British bluesboom band, complete with obligatory back-alley album cover shot and a repertoire of amped-up R&B numbers, evolved into a proper early-70s rock band, moved towards a more melodic repertoire, and then turned into a multiplatinum rock-pop soap opera, which they remained as pretty much for three decades, before fading gracefully into stadium nostalgia.
The 50 Years: Don’t Stop collection attempts, in strikingly truncated and biased form, to do justice to that career. It does so by devoting three CDs to the band’s 50 years in music (a single CD, reverse-tracklisted oddity is also available for people who like to hear songs in the wrong order).
The first CD comprises material from Fleetwood Mac’s blues prime – Shake Your Moneymaker, Black Magic Woman and so on – to their rock era with songs such as Station Man and Sentimental Lady.
It’s a career that could have ended there, another rock band who foundered on the shores of the 1970s.
But the second CD is, as it were, the money shot, with all the best material from the Buckingham and Nicks years.
It’s a sudden and quite jarring break, with only the brilliance of Christine McVie as a bridge between the two eras (Mick Fleetwood and John McVie being more of a chassis than anything else in the band named after them). Suddenly everything is shiny divorce pop.
By the time you’re listening to Sara and wondering if the chorus is ever going to come in, a certain sterility has set in. Disc Three is a mixture of late hits from a more relaxed Fleetwood Mac (at least on record), plus the odd rarity and live track.
50 Years: Don’t Stop is not a comprehensive collection (how could three CDs represent the work of a band who’ve released 17 albums?), and, unsurprisingly, is heavily weighted towards the very big hits, but it’s a useful beginner’s guide to an extraordinary band.
Fleetwood Mac are a group whose internal chaos and constant dissolution and re-formation are, bizarrely, the reason they’re still together.

I think Spotify has everything labeled wrong.
But the songs are correct, I played the whole album a couple of times.
Thank you for the advice on YouTube!
But what I don't understand is: why is the new remaster on YouTube and not on Spotify?
If I listen to No Questions Asked on Spotify it does not sound new, but the one on YouTube sounds new. That's weird. Maybe it's just compression that makes it sound new on YouTube and it's actually both the old version?
