I absolutely loved the setlist and the videos make it seem like it was played well, but it’s definitely become more of the Stevie show than I’d like. I don’t dig how she inserted herself into I Got You, DDIO, and All Over Again or insisted they do Free Fallin’ against Mike’s initial wishes. It’s still an interesting show and I’m still curious to see where it goes.

I know some people wanted new music for this tour, but considering that 9 of these songs are songs FM either hasn't done in 40 years or never done before, that's like having 9 new songs. Black Magic Woman by Stevie?!? Genius. Isn't It Midnight by Christine?!? No one can say that song has worn out it's welcome. Storms?!? Same thing. I'd never heard I Got You so I looked it up and I guess I'm lucky- I love it and can't wait to hear them do it live. I never thought I'd get the opportunity to hear Hypnotized live- very exciting! All Over You and Tell Me All the Things You Do are also like new songs for me, and I imagine, most people who will be in the audience. I'd take deep cuts and cover songs over new songs, at this point. I hated the 4 new songs on the Dance and was bored by a majority of Say You Will, but this set list is so much better than what I anticipated.
Now if only they would swap All Over You with As Long As You Follow, I would completely lose it!

I agree. The set list is wonderful. I also agree that I'd like to see a little less Stevie and little more Christine/Neil but Stevie puts the rears in the seats so I can understand why she's taking a prominent role. "I Got You" is such a great song and I'm surprised but very happy that they added it to the set list. It'll always be an Enz song to me but it's cool to see it reaching a wider audience.

I'm making a conscious decision to not watch any videos so I can look forward to seeing the show myself, so I can't comment about Stevie inserting herself in the songs you mentioned. However, I was actually concerned she would leave the stage during them, so I'm thrilled she didn't. Reading that All Over Again is like a duet between Christine and Stevie makes me happy! More, please.
I am so thankful they're not performing Stop Dragging My Heart, Need to Know, and Stand Back. Or Songbird and Silver Springs. And I'm shocked they didn't sing Gypsy, after playing it on Ellen. Shocked but happy. A little disappointed they didn't do Man of the World, since Neil and Mike played it live a few months ago.

Wasn’t it Lindsey who said or alluded to being tired of playing “Greatest Hits”? So how did we end up finally mixing things up a bit now that he’s gone?
I really like the looks of this setlist. I’m kind of debating the Saturday Chicago show. Wasn’t even on my radar at this point until a friend I turned on to FM messaged me just assuming I’d be there. I feel iffy about giving a band that’s screwed around with my emotions so much so much money (like yikes $230 for a crappy up high side seat to Saturday’s show? Last FM concert I went to was Rosemont on Valentine’s Day a few years back and I could be wrong but could’ve sworn we paid $200ish for floor seats right before the show. I’ve definitely paid less for better seats for other Mac shows so ehhh... I’d have bought my ticket unquestionably the day they went on sale if Lindsey was still with them.). But man I really like the looks of this setlist. Dang it. I feel like I’ve got emotional whiplash over this band lately. Liked what I’ve heard of the current tour in some Instagram clips too. Is there a thread around for people who are waffling on whether to go to this tour? Because shoot am I conflicted. But what a nice setlist. I’m genuinely surprised.

I'm pretty sure it's because of him being gone that they finally felt they had to change up the set list. I'm sure he would've liked to play some other songs but when they were all together it's not hard to see that they probably would've felt it would be safer and easier to keep with the same old greatest hits. But with him gone, that's such a big change and I think they would've gotten quite a lot of flack if they had just played the same things.

Thanks for posting this as a separate thread which is justified.
I give the set list a solid B.
LOVE: Hypnotized, Black Magic Woman, Isn't it Midnight, Storms. No Gypsy intro, No Stand Back, No SDMHA
Not crazy about: 2 Neil Finn songs (1 was enough), too many Lindsey songs. GYOW was enough.
I do not think All Over Again is a message to Lindsey as some were speculating. Clearly Chris cannot play piano anymore esp on a long tour. She wanted another goodbye love song and picked a good closer. "Turn down the lights, etc"
Nice selections from their long history. At least they dared to do it. Who would have ever guessed Fleetwood Mac would play Bob Welch again. I still cant believe it.
I wish Why was the closer. That would have given the setlist an A.

I think they were all tired of doing the same Greatest Hits tours, but had vastly different ideas of how to change that. Lindsey wanted to make new music and the others wanted revisit the other eras of the band.

I would rather have had that over FF. :sorry:

Ditto. Maybe it will show up.
In light of All Over Again being in the set, I wonder if Freedom might be considered down the road.

Love "Why". And "Dust" should also be in the setlist.
Imagine replacing the long intro to Why with Dust…
When your swift hair is quiet in death
And through the lips corruption
Thrust to still the labour of my breath
When we are dust
When we are dust...
There's no use in crying, it's all over
But I know there'll always be another day
Well my heart will rise up with the morning sun
And the hurt I feel will simply melt away
Just an impossible thought!

wait wait - this is a forum for haters!
y'all i enjoyed looking at the numbers of views on TL sometime today (or last night?) and for once - and first time ever that i've seen - the post-Rumours forum was hopping!!:woohoo:
so i like the division of Rumours forum being for fans of Classic 5 and dumping on Fakewood when we feel like it, and post-Rumours being for all the FM6 -lovers!

you should probably wait till the day of the show. people were saying front row Tulsa on Stubhub were down to $100 right before the show yesterday. they were supposedly moving people from the back of the venue upfront because it was so bad.

I understand that Chris' hands cannot tickle the ivories like she used to---at 75, none of us will be able to do what we once did. I'm good with that and I LOVE Chris.
However, I would have preferred that the hired hand 2nd keyboard player play "Songbird" on his piano while Christine sat at her keyboard singing the tune. A Fleetwood Mac show should be closed with "Songbird".
Moreover, to replace the traditional "Songbird" show closer with a song from an obscure lackluster album such as "Time" is a bad decision.

Well, haters and lovers alike need a set list thread! One forum needs it to discuss the positive and negative aspects of their choices and the hating forum needs it as official proof that these sick f**ks actually had the freaking audacity to follow thru on opening the set with The Chain and closing with Go Your Own Way!

Which came as a surprise to nobody…

i guess my math is different but you and i can get that sorted out in Canton! :]
i see only 4 songs that were really different in the set:
Tell Me All the Things You Do- vocals by Neil
Hypnotized
Isn't It Midnight
All Over Again
butchering of untouchable classic like Black Magic Woman? that's unforgivable. i'd rather hear it from a different cover band that can actually do it justice. if people who were spitting on Lindsey's versions of Oh Well are now saying this BMW is worth seeing? well in that case we definitely cannot talk music. your ears are calibrated way different then mine, and i had a lot of classic musical education, actually. oh i and people said while his guitar parts were ok Mike's voice on Oh Well was sad to listen to. most comments were - does he ever sing? good thing he didn't try to sing anything else.
i also heard I Got You clip, someone posted it in my fb group. oy wey. man. poor Neil. it's such a great song and sounded so bad yesterday. i'll look for cheap Neil local solo shows and maybe i get to hear it there how it's supposed to sound. i didn't hear DDIO from yesterday but people say that one was even worse. but at least i don't love that one as much as I Got You.
what else did i hear? someone tried to make me listen to some periscope some time last night and i just couldn't my ears were hurting. i did hear a clip of Storms (isn't that Lindsey's favorite SN song? he said something like that in Tusk reissue liner notes i think?), and what made that song live for me were Lindsey's gorgeous harmonies he pulled live in 2009. there was no harmonies. i had to stop listening.
Isn't It Midnight is nowhere near my favorites of Christine-Lindsey co-writes but i would have loved to hear that one from the 2 of them if nothing for Lindsey's guitar solo. maybe next BuckVie tour?
i heard a bit of Tell Me and sounded kinda ok but i don't really know how it's supposed to sound.
i didn't hear Second Hand News or Monday Morning from yesterday, but after hearing SHN from iheart i think Neil can actually sing these 2 specific songs better than current voice Lindsey. his SHN from vegas was a bit too sing-songy but it was a cute cover and he clearly enjoyed it. not as good as Keith Urban's version from Musicares, but not bad. so i suspect those 2 songs are well executed and well received. Go Your Own Way i did see the ending clip from yesterday and that was cringe-worthy. luckily i get to enjoy the real deal before the week's end!
All Over Again - as usual Christine is the gutsiest one in pulling deep and really deep cuts or rarely played songs. there was Think About Me on the last tour. Hold Me on BuckVie tour (not a deep cut but never played. i'm sure it would have been on this tour if LB was still there). so go Chris!
what else? apparently they let Stevie talk about some Frankenstein or something story and Neil wouldn't play ball with her and she complained that he was ignoring her.

And then she made an ignorant comment about Neil doing the haka....because if she had any clue what that word meant she would know that it is not something he would do despite his nationality.

heh true! well all the positives and the cheer-leading i'm guessing are in post-rumours, and i just listed above all what i've heard from yesterday - which i'm sure most will perceive as negative considering i don't see much about versions by this specific cover band that would be of interest to me. i really didn't plan to follow or listen, but we ended up having tons of fun in some group chats so i did get to hear the setlist and some of the clips - so :sorry: y'all know better by now than me holding back my opinions.
oh yeah, apparently people were going to restrooms in droves when pre-BN era songs or Split Enz songs were played.
i'm glad this opening night is over now, and we can all go continue enjoy whatever we love in peace.

That's not always the case, I'm very pro Lindsey and I was more impressed with the SetList than I expected to be...I think playing MM, SHN and GYOW was too Lindsey heavy but if they dont play his songs then they dont have enough upbeat songs, hence also including I Got You which I though was a great call.
No one is going to write a positive FM review if they are pro-Lindsey really are they, but most of these comments are not unfair or unreasonable

The first part of this sentence is my point, and I was addressing the specific “reviewer” I was quoting.

let's get real - i actually thought their iheart performance was pretty good, and i said that in the thread in post-rumours about it. and if you read what i wrote above, i thought one of the rare good moments were probably SHN and MM.
but yes, i'm happy that there's nothing that *i" am missing with new FM. and i'm happy that i'll never have to suffer through a SN performance again.

The 9 songs I was referring to were the 4 you mentioned, plus Black Magic Woman, Don't Dream It's Over, I Got You, Storms, and Free Fallin'.
I haven't heard any of the audio from the concert, so I can't comment on how the band sounded, but I'm excited about the set list. I don't care for Oh Well, World Turning, BMW, or TMATTYD, but since I've never heard the last 2 live, and I like the idea of switching lead vocals, again, I'm more excited than I would have been. For example, I don't care for Christine's song Why, but if Lindsey sang it live, I would be more interested and curious to hear it than I would have been otherwise. Same thing with BMW. Not sure why anyone spit on Lindsey's version of Oh Well, he did as good a job as anyone else, as far as I was concerned. It's just not a song I like no matter who's singing it. I appreciate your background in music but yeah, we will all have different opinions about music and songs and it doesn't mean one person is right or wrong for liking a song or not. I don't know that Mike sings much, but I saw a video of him singing Free Fallin' and I thought he did a great job... and that's a song I don't care for, and I really hate Stevie's recorded version, so I doubt I'll like her live version.
I noticed FM never performed Isn't It Midnight when Lindsey and Christine toured with the band, or on the Buck/Vie tour, so I wonder if maybe he doesn't particularly care for that song live? Although I'm sure if Christine really wanted to sing it, they would have, I just thought it was interesting.
I am extremely excited to see FM in early November and LB in late November! This is an incredible and unbelievable opportunity to see 2 great concerts in a short period of time. I really am not much of a concert goer at all, I've probably only seen 10 different artists in my lifetime, but FM is a band I've seen 4 other times, and I imagine this will be my last time seeing them.

I understand that Chris' hands cannot tickle the ivories like she used to---at 75, none of us will be able to do what we once did. The idea that Christine can't play piano at all anymore is becoming a meme, and it's been way overstated. I hope I didn't add to that perception because it was never what I meant. Your statement here is the fact on the ground. She still plays—she just doesn't play as much or as flexibly. She blues solos a bit on Black Magic Woman during the concert, even though it's subdued and carries a hint of aching joints. (Whether they actually ache is beside the point—she now plays as if it hurt a bit to play.)
A Fleetwood Mac show should be closed with "Songbird".
Moreover, to replace the traditional "Songbird" show closer with a song from an obscure lackluster album such as "Time" is a bad decision. It's a tradition, sure. But this band, despite its recent reputation for being stolid in its live shows, has certainly demolished many traditions by swapping out members. We've all talked about how this band feels like a different band, so dumping Songbird feels like just another small casualty of changing times. Besides, for my part, I'm all for wrenching traditions out like rotten teeth. I like going "WHOA" at concerts. I hate listening to Rhiannon at concerts.
Why keep competing with your younger, more energetic, more capable selves? Why not play to your strengths now—whatever they are? (I guess you'd have to identify them first.)

I like it. Always good to hear different songs performed in concert. Albeit not "new songs", at least it offers something refreshing. With FM releasing the 50 yrs package it does touch on all eras of the band with the exception of BTM. No love for Rick and Billy. But overall it does capsulize the history rather well. I'd be more excited and enticed to see them on this tour under different circumstances. High ticket prices and shoddy treatment of a longstanding and highly important contributor of the band will keep me away. No, I'm not talking about Bob Welch.
I think they were all tired of doing the same Greatest Hits tours, but had vastly different ideas of how to change that. Lindsey wanted to make new music and the others wanted revisit the other eras of the band.
My partner (half the fan I am) has been loosely following the drama, and asked about the set list after seeing it online; I told him pretty much the same thing. These 5 just can't get on the same page... and haven't been able to for years.
That said, I love this set list (although I'd take "Stand Back" or "SDMHA" over any of Finn's songs)!!! I'm just afraid "Isn't It Midnight" is going to be dropped by the time we see them in November... :distress:

With FM releasing the 50 yrs package it does touch on all eras of the band with the exception of BTM.
Oddly, I half expected “Freedom” to be in the set.

I'm more of a Bob fan than a Billy one. Give me "Hypnotized", "Sentimental Lady", and "Future Games" to name a few as opposed to...........I'm thinking.....I'll get back to you Steve.........

“In The Back Of My Mind,” “Do You Know,” “When The Sun Goes Down,” and “Talkin’ To My Heart” were pretty great. But I was just being tongue and cheek.

I appreciate that they didn’t do Songbird. Unlike opening with The Chain, closing with GYOW, and having Finn sing MM and SHN, it acknowledges that it’s a different band and somehow seems more respectful.
Take home message for me about the setlist is Christine was more empowered or empowered herself. She had the most interesting and creative selections.

Great post and great attitude. I have no interest in seeing this version of FM but I get where you are coming from. Have fun at both shows.

Opener: The Chain
And if, you don't love me now
You will never love me again
I can still hear you saying
You would never break the chain (never break the chain)
Closer: All over again
Well it's it's time to move on to the rain
And finally break the chain
In spite of the heartaches
And troubles in love
I'd do it all over (do it all over)
Do it all over again
The chain's unbroken, at least while the band's playing. Bravo to Christine for an inspired way to end the show. 23 years for a live debut. That's quite a wait.

Same. Billy was consistent. He didn’t quite get to cringe (Bright Fire, Born Enchater), but he was never especially inspired (Lay It All Down, Hypnotized, Miles Away). Bekka brought out the best in him with the band.

I like it. Always good to hear different songs performed in concert. Albeit not "new songs", at least it offers something refreshing. With FM releasing the 50 yrs package it does touch on all eras of the band with the exception of BTM. No love for Rick and Billy. But overall it does capsulize the history rather well.
I know, the exclusion of any music from the Rick and Billy era was disappointing to me, too. Although, that could easily be fixed if they swapped As Long As You Follow with All Over Again. Does anyone know if All Over Again was co-written by Eddie Quintela? I remember Christine implied in an interview awhile back that he didn't really co-write her songs, so I wondered if that was one reason she chose to sing All Over You, because maybe he isn't credited?

I suspect it’s because it’s just a fitting end to a show. It’s about closing up shop.

It is a co-write. He is credited. A little surprised by that. But I actually have my Time cd booklet in hand verifying it. One of 1000 sold! I'd rather "Freedom" get swapped in for something else, but not "All Over Again". I haven't heard it yet but I think that's a cool way to end the show. Something obscure and not "Songbird".

Thanks for confirming, jwd. I owned Time when it came out, but donated it to my library later. I just didn't like it, and I can't remember any of the songs at all, so I'll have to check it out online so I'll know it when I see them in concert.
I'm also with you about Songbird. I love the song, but it is available on every FM concert video, and I welcome the opportunity to hear something new. As Long As You Follow, lyrically, would be a wonderful thank you by the band to the fans. What can I say, I really, really love that song!

Yep, you're right. Another reason it would be a great addition to the set list, because even a casual fan who only has their Greatest Hits album would be familiar with the song. I lump As Long As You Follow and No Questions Asked with Behind the Mask because, even though they weren't on that album, they were recorded with Rick and Billy and produced by Greg Ladanyi (sp?) Paper Doll, too.

you should probably wait till the day of the show. people were saying front row Tulsa on Stubhub were down to $100 right before the show yesterday. they were supposedly moving people from the back of the venue upfront because it was so bad.
Thank you! Tonight even, a full day ahead I noticed drops on prices. That’s good to know. I just babbled to my mother for an hour over whether I should go and getting into all my feelings. I will no doubt go for $100. I mean I’m in Chicago anyway and have no other plans. I wouldn’t go out of my way or anything. And the thought of paying like $250 for some crappy seats when $200 had me on the floor for the real, full band was just killing me. But $100, I’m definitely there.
I am still catching up because I was internet issues even when I posted and had otherwise been silently lurking when crap hit the fan but what keeps getting me is that if there had been a way to do FM without a replacement for Lindsey or anyone new, I would’ve bought my ticket long ago. I would still be bummed but I still don’t want to hear someone else singing Lindsey’s songs. In fact I think I posted here or somewhere else that since I had seen FM minus Christine and also seen the Buckingham’s McVie show, seeing Stevie and Christine without Lindsey was the last piece for my collection. :P But I don’t want other people dragged in. Or as I whined to my mother “I don’t want these random dudes in my band!” I can appreciate pre Rumours Mac and have all those albums and I may be a weird one on that I’ve always loved Say You Will. But I hated Bekka and Billy and that weird period. Didn’t sound like Fleetwood Mac to me. So ugh, I don’t know. I don’t see how you drag new people in this late in the game especially. So much for that farewell tour.... Guess we already saw that.
Anyway, if tickets do indeed continue to drop and I will probably be around to report from the show tomorrow. And I’m definitely going to see Lindsey in a few weeks when he’s here in Chicago. Bummed I missed out on the Meet and Greet tickets for that. But originally I was planning to be traveling that week. Since I’m not I also have a little extra money and hence I guess I will go to tomorrow’s show. But I still don’t know how I feel about it. Being a Fleetwood Mac fan is a part of my identity. Maybe not a huge part but looking around my apartment I’ve got posters and my big thing I collect is every album from all eras of the band including everyone’s solo stuff and collaborations and all the singles that are on 45. I have foreign imports and multiple Buckingham Nicks copies. And I’ve actively enjoyed building that collection. I’ve got a pile of old journals somewhere that have cringeworthy attempts at teenage songwriting that was a lot of me just stealing lines from FM. I grew up with the band.
Anyway, I know I’m one among many around here and I feel the anger and upset. But I’m also just not sure what to make of it all. I’ve never cared even half as much about any other band and no other band has the lifelong memories and connection that FM has for me. I almost feel weird for caring so much? But radio stations must be gearing up for the show tomorrow because while out this afternoon and evening I heard 3 different FM songs (amazingly two Christine, 1 Stevie. Notably no Lindsey lead songs) and I was still all happy to hear them. And I’d still like to see Stevie and Christine and Mick and John. Though I sure wish I was seeing them with Lindsey...

I like what you said here. I do think it’s kind of neat the two tours are hitting similar areas so close together. I mentioned I guess I’m going to Chicago tomorrow night and I’m definitely seeing Lindsey in a few weeks. I think it makes it a little easier for me to cope with the split and while I don’t love all of LB’s solo work I’m going to be so excited and ready and needing some Lindsey when he gets to Chicago! And like you I haven’t been to a ton of concerts either (though I’ve doubled on a couple other singers I like) but I’ve been to 3 Mac shows and a Buckingham McVie. I have missed other shows I wish I had been to (still mad I didn’t go see the Say You Will tour). Heck, I even feel similar to you on your comments about the setlist and such that I deleted from the quote. Wish you were in Chicago. We could meet up and geek out and apparently are some of the few kind of straddling the line here and not vehemently hating on any one side. (Though no judgement to those who do have such strong feelings. My love for Lindsey grew so much after finally getting to see a live show. I was always more of a Stevie person. Though I don’t think I’d want to be friends with any member of the band except maybe John. I want to go chill on a boat with John and get away from all the drama lol).
Anyway, should be interesting to get to see both shows so close together. Maybe I’ll pick a side after. ;)

Wow, thanks! I would have totally geeked out with you in Chicago. Not just because I love FM but because I love Chicago- it's my favorite city! Also like you, I don't love all of Lindsey's solo work. Well, it's hard to explain- what I do love of Lindsey's work (both solo and with FM, I REALLY love, but what I don't like, I REALLY dislike, if that makes sense. So with Christine and Stevie, some of their songs I may not care for, but only one or two songs I really hate. So that has always been a factor in why I'd been hesitant to see Lindsey solo before. I regretted not seeing Buck/Vie, so I am so thankful Elle encouraged me to buy my Lindsey ticket for his tour. I am beyond excited!
As for seeing FM, well, I would probably be crucified if I encouraged you to go to their show  all I would suggest is that at their age, and I hate to sound morbid, you probably won't get a chance to see them again. Even if they live another 15-20 years, they won't be touring. I regretted not seeing Buck/Vie and you regretted not seeing them for Say You Will, so there's a chance you'll regret not seeing them now, while you have the chance. Plus I'm being a little selfish- I would love to get your reaction to the show. It's one thing to read about their set list, but it's quite another to read about how the audience responded to their set list. I mean, are audience members cringing during Free Fallin' or are they in the moment? Are they fleeing to the bathroom during I Got You or Oh Well? Those are things I'm really curious about.

I feel the same way about Lindsey’s work. Definitely. Which maybe also says something about him as an artist and someone so willing to experiment. I sometimes feel like Christine is the weakest link in the band (not that any of them are weak!) in that some of her songs are very fluffy pop and I feel rather “meh” on some. Never unpleasant but I don’t feel very strongly one way or the other about some of her stuff and of course have other songs I really love. She’s also different in that sense from both Lindsey and Stevie. There’s more similarities in L & S’s work but Stevie’s stuff is a lot less experimental and more consistent. You know what you’re going to get from Stevie. Much as you do with Christine but Stevie’s work is darker? I don’t know maybe I’m trying to pull my comparisons too far here. But I think it makes sense that we have strong feelings for Lindsey’s work.
And I’m with you as far as this potentially being the last tour and that’s been a big factor in my thoughts on whether or not go. It may not be everything I want but maybe I need to take what I can get because this may be it. That said oh my gosh the additional fees on tickets. Yikes. I found a nice seat on Stubhub and the price was almost low enough I would’ve just gone for it. Until I caught an extra $50 in fees. Ouch. I know there’s been an increase in entertainment tax here in Chicago so I’m assuming that’s part of it and I have only ever bought from Stubhub once so it wasn’t clear to me those taxes weren’t included up front and they match the fees from Ticketmaster. But yikes. I do hope prices go down a bit later today.
But I’m planning to attend. And will definitely report back! I’m hoping to sit off to the side up close to the stage. Generally one of the best spots for arena shows (maybe the best as someone exceptionally short. I loved the time I got a floor seat for the last tour but I could hardly see a thing.) And it will afford me a great view of the audience as well. I’m so curious about the audience reactions as well. Though at this point, I’m equally curious about what my own take on things will be! I do figure as “wrong” as I’ve felt songs have sounded without Lindsey, it’s also one thing to be watching from a computer screen and another to actually be at a live show. Figure that can only help.

You are scaring me LOL because I understand exactly what you're talking about! I am short myself, so being on the floor in a large venue has always been an issue for me. And you described Lindsey, Christine, and Stevie's music very well and again, I know what you mean. It's easier to have more passionate feelings about Lindsey's songs because they are experimental, or certainly more out of the box, than anything Christine or Stevie does. I dislike When I See You Again, for example, but it doesn't actually bother me. The Ledge or Not That Funny, on the other hand, really grates on me, for some reason. Then again, Go Your Own Way is the quintessential FM song for me, perfection in every way. Crystal, Monday Morning, Second Hand News, I Know I'm Not Wrong, I'm So Afraid, love them all so much. And I know Crystal was written by Stevie, but his voice is f-ing beautiful on that song.
I was/am tempted to buy a really good seat for FM but it's several hundred dollars, plus an extra $75 in "service charges" so I think I'm going to hold off until the day of the show or close to it. I want as close a seat as possible while spending as little money as possible LOL. Anyway, glad to hear you're going and cannot wait to hear all your thoughts about the concert, good and bad!

I don’t know where you’re at but yikes. United Center is selling well (I’m sure it helps this show is on a Saturday night too...) but I’m not sure I’m going to catch a decent price drop. Tickets are going on and off the market like crazy but I’m just surprised how few are left. I wanted to cry when I took a look at Gand Rapids and Detroit. The retail prices are half or less of the prices in Chicago. I’m from Michigan original and if I had a car I think I would take a trip to Grand Rapids for Monday’s show. Like even factoring in traveling I think I would get a better seat for less! So crazy. I really figured given how HUGE the United Center was I wouldn’t have to worry. I’m still going to wait and watch and may literally be buying a ticket at the gate. There are a few 8th row floor seats going for about retail but one already got snatched up. I don’t want to pay $300 but if it comes down to the wire, I might. I wish I could remember exactly what I paid for the floor seats during the last tour at Rosemont. I actually forgot my wallet and went with a friend so the next day I paid him back for my ticket and a bunch of merch and I know it was quite a lot but I don’t think we paid $300 for seats. No way. My friend wouldn’t have been okay with that.
But I’m still thinking this could be the last FM show I’m able to see so... hoping not to pay that much but I might.

Oh man, that sucks! Now I'm thinking I better buy a ticket ahead of time, after all, instead of waiting. I hope you find a good deal!
Chicago has been basically sold out for a while. I have been watching prices all day and they are not at really coming down from the scalpers.
You might have better luck at the box office with a drop.
I've listened to this several times now over the last day and quite possibly this is an ode to Lindsey from Chris, Stevie, and FM. It fits.

I've listened to this several times now over the last day and quite possibly this is an ode to Lindsey from Chris, Stevie, and FM. It fits.

Definitely. Maybe we'll luck out tonight and get a video of it.

One of which I'm eager to see, along with "Hypnotized", and "Tell Me All The Things You Do". I might be a little down on FM, but I'm not out. I can't help but be interested. This is in my blood.

Chicago has been basically sold out for a while. I have been watching prices all day and they are not at really coming down from the scalpers.
You might have better luck at the box office with a drop.
Saw a lot of sporadic seats added or popping up at TicketMaster (the regular direct from the venue ones not the resell ones though there were a few resell ones popping up for short times on Stubhub at face value in great spots). Anyway it was one such ticket I finally grabbed. Looks like fees were lower today than yesterday too. Probably could’ve saved on fees showing up at the box office but I’m in 113 row 3. Should be a great seat. Was probably the best combo of price and view I was going to get unless I gambled it until the very last minute. And maybe I should have but frankly I got tired of staring at tickets and prices.
I hope it’s a good show, for what it is anyway. I’m more tired than I’d like to be but hoping to catch that live show/ Mac vibe to carry me through.
I will definitely report back!

Ended up hanging out way too late last night with my friend after the show. But I had some Twitter bonding moments (I’m Tzipity if any of you were following reports from last night. I got ranty...) that may have been my favorite part. That and I can’t lie I think Christine was a shining light of the show so I don’t regret it. I also had a fantastic seat on her side so that was nice. But I’m all over the place on thoughts and have a zillion photos and audio clips including some I focused on the crowd with. Kind of have to say the crowd was all over in response too.
Anyway, think I’ll do a full review later. It’s so early but lucky me today is the Chicago Marathon and I live on the route so rest is not forthcoming and it’s killing me that “Don’t Dream Its Over” is stuck in my head since the show ended. I don’t know how that happened. I left a FM show with THAT in my head? (And I got up and left during it too!) what even?!?!
I must say my show highlight weirdly enough maybe, was hearing “Isn’t It Midnight”. I happen to really like the song and it was the most upbeat non Lindsey song played so the show needed it even if I may have been feeling it more than most. Truly, while many have been claiming it’s now “The Stevie show” with all the pre B/N songs and with Stevie not doing Silver Springs, Sisters (despite them selling a Sisters tour shirt with Stevie and Christine on it!), or Seven Wonders (these would’ve been my top picks from her. Love Storms but omg the crowd did not and it ruined my own experience of it with people talking very loudly throughout) Stevie really didn’t capture me at all. I think Christine ultimately had more songs? Or that’s how it felt? So I can feel happy with that on some level.
And good lord, it was feeling like the Mick Fleetwood show for the longest most miserable World Turning drum banging, rambling thing from him. I may be slightly exaggerating but I’m relatively certain that was a solid TEN MINUTES of the show. And that felt like a special slap on the face to Lindsey to me.
And oops guess I’ve already typed half my review and am stopping myself here for now. It stings that I spent so much on the show especially as someone in a very poor financial state. But I don’t regret it entirely either, I guess. But I think I accidentally went more into Team Lindsey as a result which.... can’t be what the band intended.
Legit though- Christine was the shining jewel and why I think I am still glad I went.

I’m really sorry to use your somewhat underwhelming experience to prove a point but it proves it better then anything else yet.
This tour is not the the Stevie Nicks show, it is truly a FLEETWOOD MAC show that highlights the great FIFTY year career and incredible accomplishments of both Mick and John and the many who helped along the way and have been largely ignored the past 40 years.
Stevie is singing lead a mere FIVE Stevie Nicks written songs and only four of those are hits. Clearly Gypsy is an option and would for sure gain more applause no matter how badly it is performed.
Stevie is instead using her star power to highlight the rest of the band, both past members and new ones. Above all elese. the greatest thing she’s done is take th lead on Black Magic Woman and hammer home that it is a Fleetwood Mac song written by a Peter Green, so the morons in the arena don’t consider it a Santana Cover. (And apparently Stevie herself is grouped in with those morons? )
She’s also basically taken co-lead on I Got You, which essentially has turned the song into a new Fleetwood Mac song as far as someone like me is concearned since I had never heard the song before Wednesday.
Free Fallin is a tribute to Tom which I could see people thinking that makes this more of the Stevie show but I don’t agree. I find it purely a tribute to Tom and how important he was Stevie and the new lead guitarist in the band.
And then the touching closing song is a duet between Stevie and Christine, which granted is a former Christine solo lead vocal so turning it into a duet could be a point for the Stevie show but I look at it as another way Stevie is using her star power to elevate a very obscure Christine song.
And I’ve felt all this before your review, but this is a perfect example of the true reality of this tour.

For what I’m assuming her voice is capable of, yeah she sounded pretty good. I don’t know that she can sound as great as many would like anymore but she sounded notably better, in my opinion, than at the Buckingham/McVie show I saw a little over a year ago. And i think it’s Black Magic Woman that she really gets to playing the keyboard on or maybe one other song of hers (I need to look and see if I got a clip or which song I’m thinking of) but for all that’s been discussed about her inability to play she was really playing and seemed to be enjoying at a couple of points. Someone from Tulsa described her playing as looking painful and I kind of agree, there’s a stiffness. But solely to her playing. Like otherwise she seemed great and seemed to be enjoying herself. And her Stevie engaged some very sweet looks. And both Neil and Mike were playing up next to her a bunch and she seemed to be enjoying that too. But you could read the history and love between her and Stevie big time. It was the only thing that felt Fleetwood Mac in that sense.
Overall without Lindsey and his energy and his thrilling the crowd... Mike was often way over in the corner alone. Neil doesn’t at all engage the crowd or have the pull Lindsey does. And the entire show there was a lot of the band members turning inward at each other- often literally turning away from the crowd. It felt... odd. I didn’t feel engaged with on a level not only that I’d want and expect with FM but honestly, not even on a level I’d expect from literally any artist or band at a live show. I thinks that’s also what made it harder for me to enjoy the show or how I really slipped off into my twitter rants and such. I don’t know how to better describe it but it was maybe my biggest take away. They felt more alone in their own little bubble than ever.

Well said on all of this. Exactly. And I’m really okay with all of this with a single caveat- I mentioned in my reply above how poorly I felt the entire band really did at engaging the crowd (and Stevie actually didn’t talk much at alllast night especially further into the show. I think I would’ve liked a little more from her or from Chris maybe?). There was so much of everyone turning around or away from the crowd to exchange looks or whatever so they really seemed to be in their own bubble and even taking the fact this is Fleetwood Mac out of the equation- for any live show, I would have wanted to be more engaged with personally. Last night was the best seat I’ve ever had to a show and yet I felt so far away in a sense. Right or wrong or as for whether this is what everyone would’ve wanted, I think if it HAD been more of a “Stevie show” at least there would’ve been a little more audience engagement?
I know the man I sat next to who weirdly explained he and his wife were there BECAUSE of the new band members? (They didn’t elaborate and I tried to explain what was missing without Lindsey and just gather the guy especially would’ve really loved seeing Lindsey too) He was sooo impressed with GDW. I’m so meh to that and the dance. I filmed it specifically for a friend who is a big fan and loves the dance and shawl and all. But I didn’t remotely get the awestruck feel this guy had. But as much as that dance is pretty indulgent it was also one of the only quintessential FM crowd pleasers that even happened. And it all would’ve been such a different show with Lindsey running all over the stage and all. Oh and I mean there was the endless Mick yammering and banging on the drums and a super trippy backdrop with old photos of Mick and John interspersed. Quintessential Mac except it *was* World Turning without LB and Mick drew his thing out so obscenely and wildly long it was frankly disgusting. That’s the most ego by far I saw that night. And it was frankly rather disgusting.
Stevie definitely more than ever felt more “one of the band” than so is often the case at FM shows where she’s that huge draw and her every move makes people scream. I think I respect that a ton.
And I loved Free Fallin and it was “a moment” even if engineered to be one. I love Tom Petty and I spent a lot of my teens playing Stevie’s Enchanted box set so have always had a soft spot for her cover (and the other covers she did in that boxset). It was actually probably my favorite Stevie part of the show and it went over very well. Also I found it super cute the way she was gesturing and smiling and turning to Christine throughout several of the love songs. It was so cute and especially in the present climate, if I need someone to “ship” in this band, well I’m shipping Stevie and Chris. ;) I’ve always adored female/female duets so that was nice to see with them too. And as I’ve already said around here a few times- I would not be near as bothered or conflicted on things if there had been a way to do this tour without pulling in new people and the focus had instead been on all Christine and Stevie.
Also they’re selling a nice shirt with Stevie and Christine that says Sisters of the Moon I just had to buy. Far warning for anyone considering buying merch especially if any of it goes up online- the women’s fit shirts are HUGE. Way more than the last two tours and I’m a very, very small, petite person and was not happy. The Stevie and Christine shirt while gorgeous has the weirdest cut of all too. So if any of those go up online, size down A LOT if you’re expecting them to fit like the women’s shirts from previous years. The current “women’s” shirts could all, with exception of the weird cut and neck of the Sisters shirt, be worn by men and are more or less cut that way but on softer fabric. Lots of penguin logos on all the merch right now.

Haha.
I’d need to see the Setlist to even remember what came before Storms but I remember remarking to the man next to me who yelled at the loud folks behind me finally, that it was also a very poor transition. But yeah, Storms went over worse than anything actually. Even on the floor people up as close as about the fourth row were sitting and talking. Sooo much talking all around the arena and the United Center has very wonky acoustics which really ticked me off. I will always love Storms. I was happy to hear it. But man was i unhappy with the crowd.
I do wonder if the setlist was reworked a bit if Storms would go over at least a little better? Also felt the into was weird on it. I didn’t realize it was Storms at first actually. And not sure if you’ve seen but the back drop is waves crashing and a cut out of Australia presumably for Neil? But that was super weird. Like we had lots of fun older band photos, the Tom tribute and photos, the show opened with a pretty Chicago flag backdrop, so it almost felt like she was supposed to be singing some weird tribute to a tragedy in Australia. Like that’s immediately what popped into my head.

If people can’t enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Storms and realize how lucky they are to hear it then they shouldn’t be at a FM show to begin with.

Anybody got any info /pics of merchandise for this tour?
I wish it were easier to share photos on the forum. I actually snapped some photos (ended up buying something for a friend who didn’t make it so I was sending them to him asking what he wanted). And I grabbed a few things.
A lot of penguin logos stuff. My friend and I each got tote bags and they may be the best thing they’ve got. Only $25 and really nice quality with a zip closure and a zip pocket inside. Very nice. Penguin logo with the present members names around the circular logo. I also bought a track jacket for $70. Kind of weird color and I’m still unsure if it’s a very deep navy or black but white stripes down the sleeve, penguin (a single one. There’s a single penguin and double penguin version of the logo and a mix of each on the merch) logo on the left chest. Bummed there’s nothing on the back but the tour hoodie was the same with just a left chest logo. The hoodie is also a strange brown color and they were sold out of my size so I didn’t get a close look.
My favorite and I can try to send you a picture one way or another here, is the T-shirt I bought. It’s got a close up of Stevie and Christine’s faces and says Sisters of the Moon. I will warn (and I said this at the bottom of my review on the other page) the sizing and style of the women’s fit tees this tour are REALLY weird. Like I’ve got a women’s fit tee from each of the last two tours and they’re radically different in size. Previously they ran a little small and I bought up fearing shrinkage. Well... the smalls look like large or extra large for a women’s fitted tee. And the Sisters shirt I bought is cut especially odd. Wide neck and very wide shirt. I’m a very tiny person. And I was ticked. They had a lot of retro style shirts- A Rumours one with Mick and Stevie (I have a long sleeve tee with the same photo from a previous tour), Lots of penguin logo as mentioned, and I loved this bright blue women’s shirt with a retro Fleetwood Mac logo (just the band name in big bubble letters) but they were all out except L and XL. Also surprisingly there’s a white long sleeve tee with the Kiln House album cover on it! If I had had more money, I would’ve gotten it.
In regular unisex tees there were more penguin logos and the singular shirt that has the current members of the band on it and tour dates on the back. Also a wind breaker or rain coat that has a large penguin logo on the back. And then the tote I mentioned, a hat, and shot glasses. I think this was everything. And ha apologies if I over described.
If you are a smaller size and especially if you want the women’s cut shirts with the softer fabric, buy early. With the larger sizing they were big time wiped out of the smalls and mediums of everything after the show. Of note while the sizing issues on those shirts was a big problem for someone unusually petite like myself, the way these shirts are sized I’d actually say they’re more unisex so if you’re a guy who likes a softer shirt, everything but the Sisters shirt I listed would be workable and not look odd on a guy. I would say the size large “women’s” shirts were more or less equivalent to a size medium unisex tee. But radically different sizing from the previous two tours merch!!! Also no lyrics based tees like last tour had a Sisters of the Moon shirt with artsy lyrics and the one before that had a Landside lyrics in the shape of a flower. I have both and they’re favorites so I was a little bummed not to see something like that this tour. Penguin logos eveeeeerywhere though!

Are there any shirts with the 6 of them on it?
Just one. It was kind of funny to realize that. It’s your typical unisex black shirt with a photo of the current six and the tour dates on the back. There was a major retro theme going with the merch. That said, There’s at least three variations (new ones) of the penguin logo and one of them that’s on the tote bags and I think the hat as well as some of the shirts, says In concert in smaller letters and Fleetwood Mac larger beneath and around the circular border has everyone’s names. I bought a tote for my friend as well as myself and we hung out after the show and he starts looking at it and joked he was going to cross our Neil and Mikes names. I almost missed they were even there. Neil and Mike are on the far sides of the semi circle of names though and Stevie and Christine’s names are sharing the top. So someone put some serious thought into the layout. I think Neil and Mike are also both on one side on the photo shirt too.
Wish I could upload directly to this forum because I just pulled out my tote and the penguin logo is really nice. I really, really like it and might have grabbed one of the shirts with it on had I gotten a good look. I think the redone penguin logo was a fitting choice though for what this tour feels like- a celebration of the bands history. I just don’t know where to upload photos at to share them here, dang it.

I wouldn't really want to criticise the set as such, given the situation they are in but I would perhaps ditch Second Hand News, putting Monday Morning in its place, replace Isn't it midnight with Spare me a little of your love with Man of the World following it. I had hoped for Why as a closer, but I really like the crazily beautiful stunt they've pulled with All over again. The only more unexpected thing they could have done would have been for Stevie to recite Thoughts on a grey day as everyone headed to the exits.
