Yay for LB fans! Honestly happy for you all. Hoping this acts as a salve of sorts for all the hurtful animosity around here. Concentrate on the positive.
The Spreckels theatre in San Diego is tiny - great for an intimate show. Word of warning though, there's no AC and it gets hot in there. Wear light clothes. I saw the Conan O'Brien show in there during Comic Con and I was pretty hot.

Lindsey Buckingham Announces New Album SOLO ANTHOLOGY and North American Tour
TV News Desk Aug. 14, 2018
Lindsey Buckingham Announces New Album SOLO ANTHOLOGY and North American Tour
Lindsey Buckingham is widely considered one of the greatest guitarists and songwriters and musical expressionists of our time. A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and 3 time GRAMMY winner, Buckingham is best known as the producer, guitarist, vocalist and chief songwriter for Fleetwood Mac and as a widely celebrated solo artist. His forthcoming Solo Anthology - The Best of Lindsey Buckingham is a comprehensive record of this illustrious career. Out October 5th on Rhino Records, Buckingham's Solo Anthology will be released as a3-disc set on CD and digitally and will also be available as a single disc abridged release. A 6-LP vinyl release is slated for November 23rd. The album is available for pre-order now.
Solo Anthology - The Best of Lindsey Buckingham includes album, live and alternate versions of some of Lindsey's celebrated solo albums including cuts from Law and Order, Go Insane, Out of the Cradle, Under the Skin, Gift of Screws and Seeds We Sow and incorporates songs from his collaborative album with Christine McVie released in 2017. The anthology features Buckingham's film work with "Holiday Road" and "Dancin Across The USA" from the 1983 motion picture soundtrack to National Lampoon's Vacation and "Time Bomb Town" from 1985's Back to the Future. Live versions of Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" and "Go Your Own Way" round out the album, but the most thrilling tracks come in the form of two new songs that have never before been released, "Hunger" and "Ride This Road."
This fall Lindsey Buckingham will head out on a North American Tour in support of his Solo Anthology. The tour kicks off at Revolution Hall in Portland, OR on October 7th and highlights include the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on October 12th and Town Hall in New York on December 4th. Tickets go on sale Saturday, August 18th. Every ticket purchased online for the Lindsey Buckingham tour includes a CD or digital copy of the single-disc version of the new Anthology. Fans will receive instructions via email on how to redeem the album after ticket purchase. Tickets begin going on-sale this Friday. Please visit www.lindseybuckingham.com for further information.

Lindsey Buckingham announces North American solo tour
The lengthy jaunt comes in support of Buckingham's new solo anthology
BY ALEX YOUNGON AUGUST 14, 2018, 10:48AM
As far as we understand it, Lindsey Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac due to his desire to focus his efforts on his solo career, rather than join the band for another tour. Incidentally, this fall Buckingham will go head to head with his former bandmates, as he’s just announced a solo tour that’s scheduled to kick off just days after Fleetwood Mac begin their own North American outing.
The lengthy jaunt comes in support of Buckingham’s new Solo Anthology – The Best of Lindsey Buckingham. Available digitally, as a single-disc abridged set, or as an expanded 3-CD or 6-LP box set, the comprehensive record includes album, live, and alternate versions of of Lindsey’s solo recordings, collaborations, and film compositions. It will be available digitally and on CD beginning October 5th, with a vinyl release following on November 23rd. Pre-orders are ongoing.
See Buckingham’s upcoming tour schedule below. Tickets go on sale Friday, August 17th (you can also grab them here). The artwork and tracklist for Buckingham’s anthology follow.

Of course everyone is going to have their own choices for the anthology, but I am surprised that A) he only included one track from LAW & ORDER, and B) that he didn't include "Wrong", arguably the strongest track off of OUT OF THE CRADLE.
Can't wait to hear the deluxe anthology cd! Sounds fantastic! Most songs released remastered and a LIVE cd in the package! AND two NEW songs! YAY!!!
Happy that this is all happening for Lindsey and his fans. How good he must feel to know he is finally unchained from the FM baggage. :woohoo:

there are just 2 from what i can see - go to LB website and look at the pic of the dates - https://rhino.warnermusic.com/lbsite/
https://widgets.rhinofy.com/roadblocks/buckingham/img/tour-updated.jpg - on in CT and one in NC.
note that there are several venues that are already on sale today - together with m&gs and all other types of tickets. those are mostly the ones that are through venue sites, and not through TM or ticketfly. so go to LB's website, and check your local venue or venue you are interested in because you may be able to buy already.
and PLEASE do not be fooled by scalper sites. almost all dates are on either Ticketmaster, ticketfly, or local venue. go to LB website if you are unsure and click through from there. scroll down, all the dates are there and clickable although some not available yet https://rhino.warnermusic.com/lbsite/ .
i had several people crying to me how expensive tix are and then linking me to scalper sites.
all regular tickets are below $100.
VIPs are $200.
VIP M&G are $300.
if you are getting prices over $300 you are almost certainly looking at the scalper site.

Such a generous array of tracks in this Anthology!
There's one or two tweaks I would make (yes--"the man got it Wrong!"), but it's 90% on the money I think.
No complaints here about the limited contribution from Law & Order.
Very interested about the mention of 'alternate versions' in the Rolling Stone article (https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/lindsey-buckingham-announces-solo-tour-after-fleetwood-mac-firing-711015/), unless that just refers to the apparent 'remastering' of every single track. After all, if Lindsey's such a studio perfectionist, wouldn't the original versions of the songs be his favorite versions?
It's a bit nerve-racking to speculate on what the tracklist for the 'single CD' will be. I hope that he/they don't fall into the trap of putting in too many OOTC tracks (yes OOTC is full of great tracks, but we don't need another copy of it)!

That name is listed on the Ticketmaster website for a lot of but not all of the shows. For instance, I don't see that name on the DC, Charlotte, and Salina (Kansas) shows on Ticketmaster. Not sure about the shows that aren't sold on Ticketmaster, though.

For as much as we'd all love to hear it---he'd never pull a "Joe Walsh" and LB would have a ton more credibility than Joe Walsh.

 I am excited about this as well. Just wish there was outtakes /alternate versions etc. Esp from OOTC , Slow Dancing 12 " single extended version. Unless he is going to release deluxe versions because he needs to. I will still get it for sure. I am excited for him. I hope it all does well. The Anthology and the tour.

Ah yes! I am hoping for this as well. I'd be right there in line with you to buy these potential deluxe recordings. And LIVE footage included would be very welcome too! Excellent point.
I wish he would have put In My World on the anthology instead of Sleeping Around The Corner. It actually got some decent air play

Probably the original, not LBCM version.

I wish this tour's schedule were more akin to the 2007 Under The Skin tour since there's no way I'll be able to see him on this upcoming one. I also wish the Amazon exclusive version of End Of Time were on this just so it could be on a disc for posterity's sake.

I am in total agreement with you, do you think he will do this at some point since he's not apart of Fmac anymore, since they were stupid to fire him. Still makes no sense at all.:D

Hey Sue! :wavey:
I think there is a lot to expect from Lindsey at this point. I'm sure he will continue working in earnest on his solo career, especially now that he is free from the dead weight of FM. I'd bet that he will work more with other artists in the capacity of recording, producing, and playing with them.
Funny, I can tell by you sig line that you are(were) predominantly a Stevie fan, as was I. Yet the general consensus amongst most FM fans, even the ones like us, is that Lindsey getting fired was stupid!
I'm looking forward to the guitar god known as Lindsey Buckingham to blow us away! I'm sure we can expect a lot of good things to come from him. This anthology set is looking very interesting to me. I've already pre-ordered it on Amazon. :]

I agree with you that he will be very very busy. I was a big Stevie fan when I had started here (in 05) and Mac starting about 1988 (the last time Lindsey left though it was 87) but my opinions have changed through the yrs as well as I am sure many other long time fans. It was such a stupid move on there part. I haven't seen them live since 03 the SYW tour and Lindsey was amazing really , he did much better than Stevie that night. I haven't seen Stevie either since 08. The high cost of ticket prices and well the Greatest hits machine thing just gets old. I still have bought the deluxe editions of the Mac and Stevie stuff though I think there's much more that can still be released . I always feel as fans we get the short end of the stick. When we should be there 'bread and butter' so to speak. It is what it is. I probably need to get rid of some of my 'collections' just not sure what route to take and all. Plus the time involved. Other than keeping what I really like some of it just isn't the big deal it once was ya know. Anyway, I do hope he has continued success. I so look forward to this release. It would be cool if he'd do a guitar instrumental lp like Peter Frampton did. I so love Frampton. I won't see Mac on this tour. Wish I could see Lindsey but doesn't look like I will be able to go that night he's here. I will have to read all the posts here. Maybe he'll release another live cd/dvd that would be cool too for this tour. The possibilities are endless for him. Well, great talking with you and we'll talk again for sure!!:) Take care!! I wrote those song captions along time ago guess I need to change them up some. Stevie gets on my nerves now some, part of me will always love certain periods but not everything thats for sure. Guess some won't like that statement but to each his /her own. Just how I feel now.

I am travelling from Tokyo to see Lindsey front row in Birmingham in November!
Meanwhile, I don't think I'd go see the current lineup of Stevie Mac even if they came to Japan. (But I don't begrudge younger fans who haven't seen them before and think this might be their last chance.)

No complaints here about the limited contribution from Law & Order.
Hey! Hey! HEY!

I might be the only one, but I love Law and Order. It's my favorite record from Lindsey. Maybe it was the year it came out or something, but it brings back fond memories for me.

Now that makes me feel bad as I'm not going
and am only a few hours away.
Enjoy the show!

wow that's AMAZING! i hope you have a m&g and get to tell him that!
i didn't even realize you are in Japan. i do know several people travelling in from Australia and Europe to see this LB solo tour.

as it should. any show within 6 hour drive is a fair consideration for me.
i did drive 8.5 hrs one way for BuckVie tour last summer, and that's a bit much. but below 6 hrs? easy decision for me, especially if close to the weekend.

Good album! I like most of it. Johnny Stew is a favorite, for sure.

It's a great album. I guess I'd rank it second or third.
I'm simply happy, Happy, HAPPY!!!! with the new announcement!! -Of course I'm talking about the Anthology, because I can't travel to see him on tour...-
It's rare to see there's only ONE song from Law & Order. Where's Bwana?? It Was I??
And I think it's unusual to see Turn It On and Doing What I Can in the collection. I think This Is The Time and Wrong were more logical choices.
But anyway, I'm really excited to hear the songs!!! Old and new ones, I'm going to buy the 3 CDs. But, I have an LP player now, so I don't know what's the best option...

Agreed.
anthology review (i would rate it similarly, but for different reasons. i am ok with what LB included, ecstatic even about some of his choices, but wish he included at least 5-6 different ones instead. which i guess would give a more balanced retrospective, that the review noted also.)

Lindsey Buckingham: Solo Anthology — The Best of Lindsey Buckingham

Lindsey Buckingham
Solo Anthology — The Best of Lindsey Buckingham
(Rhino/Warner Brothers)
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
If there was any doubt of Lindsey Buckingham’s mad skills as an accomplished finger-picking guitarist, the opening half of the third platter of this triple CD compilation will put that to rest. The first six tunes feature Buckingham on solo acoustic guitar, whipping off frenzied licks with a proficiency and expertise that will leave most listeners slack-jawed. When he adds emotional vocals to “Big Love” or drops down to near silence on “Never Going Back Again” as he caresses the words and reworks the arrangement, it’s clear he’s one of the most talented artists to front a major act.
Of course, if you’re playing the discs in order, by the time you get there, you’ll have already absorbed almost two and half hours of music cherry-picked from six studio albums worth of Buckingham’s non-Fleetwood Mac work (and one from 2017’s collaboration with Christine McVie) released from 1981-2011. It’s a handy way to catch up to the less-pop worthy tunes Buckingham has recorded intermittently over a 30-year period. For the most part, this material is too unusual, twisted or just plain peculiar to fit into Mac’s slicker repertoire. Occasionally Buckingham — who impressively overdubs himself on most instruments — finds a more commercial voice as on “Love Runs Deeper” or “You Do or You Don’t” that lightens the overall mood with tracks that might have fit onto a Mac album. And even if the guitarist sometimes tries a little too hard to show his oddball, i.e. artistic, side, the 39 studio tracks reveal often hidden gems on albums that didn’t exactly set the charts on fire. Two “new” selections, both recorded in 2012, make their debut here but neither the hummable “Hunger” or the indie/folky “Ride This Road” is good enough to recommend that fans who already own the rest of the previously issued items splurge on this.
Oddly, there is only one inclusion from Buckingham’s 1981 debut (the single “Trouble” is here in both studio and a stunningly rearranged live version), which seems to be unfair to that generally impressive work, especially since eight songs are grabbed from 1992’s Out Of The Cradle. Buckingham penned or co-wrote virtually everything, although an acoustic version of Jagger-Richards’ “I Am Waiting” is an inspired choice which makes you yearn to hear more covers.
Much of this hews closely to Buckingham’s talents as a songwriter, singer, producer, finger-picking master and arranger. It shies away from Buckingham’s reputation as an electric guitar-shredder, although gripping concert renditions of “I’m So Afraid” and “Go Your Own Way” that close the package allow him to open up on intense, hot-wired plugged way in solos that not only display his nimble abilities but begs the question as to why there aren’t more tracks where he lets it rip.
As a career recap, this three hour-plus overview (also available as a redacted single disc) is a reasonable if flawed summary of Buckingham’s side project solo work. But most importantly it lets us rediscover music created outside of the iconic band he fronted for three decades. Fleetwood Mac gave him the freedom to release music that skews to his edgier/odder proclivities, which is generally an artist’s most interesting side. Hal Horowitz
