View Full Version : price drops already! (and only presales)

love it!

people who bought same tickets on presale yesterday paid about $60 more for exact same ticket that already dropped in price today. i bet those people are pi******ed!

and it's only presale, the regular onsale didn't even start - so that was FAST! :]

although i'd love it even better if they kept their ridiculous over-pumped prices and played to empty arenas or had to cancel bunch of shows.

Elle, if someone posted how happy they were that some Buck/Vie shows sold poorly last year, would you be ok with that? It's so jarring to see you post comments like this, when you wouldn't like it if someone had done the same to you. I said to you a few weeks back when you threatened to troll here, that it was very unlike you, and you responded that I should have known you wouldn't do something like that. And then you post this thread, where you're laughing at someone because they paid more for their ticket than if they had waited a few days.

I'm sorry you're upset, but these posts aren't like you. Be happy tickets are selling poorly and keep hoping that shows are canceled. Maybe it makes you feel better if other people are as upset as you are. I have to admit I've done that before in my life, been unhappy and tried to bring other people down, too.

^^ you are funny. why again are you in this forum? this is where people unhappy with the fakewood band are, you know the ones that get on your nerves. :)

and btw - i'm doing you a favor. i'm telling you - save your money and you will get better tix for lower prices later. so - you're welcome! :wavey:

I don't think she's happy that people overpaid, BUT that the tour isn't selling as well as they hoped, and that MEANS that they f*cked up by firing Lindsey.

Big difference: The BuckVie tour did not involve backstabbing and duplicity. I would call this karma.

It's not that funny, is it?

SORRY but a beloved band member was FIRED. He didn't choose not to participate. FIRED!!!! None of the five have EVER been fired and we are PISSED. Buckle up because our anger isn't going away. This is how i feel about the price drop. :]:]:]:]:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I want this tour to do badly so that they will realize they made a mistake in firing Lindsey and ask him back. Then, he can come back, they will be the Rumours 5 again, and all of this will just be a horrible chapter in their past.

I'm sorry for the people who overpaid, but I am rooting for this tour to fail.

I haven't bought a ticket, but if I were going to, I would also be happy about a price drop.

But I stand by what I said- if fans of Mick and John were angry they weren't included in the Buck/Vie tour, and they had laughed about poor attendance at the Buck/Vie shows, elle wouldn't have liked it. And I don't remember anyone posting here, for any reason, that they hoped Lindsey and Christine's tour bombed. But when elle makes it a point to slam Stevie superfans from another forum for gloating about Lindsey being fired, and then posts a thread gloating that tickets are selling poorly, it's the pot calling the kettle black, that's all.

You can say FIRED a thousand times. It doesn't matter. They don't get it. Or it's nicer to act as if it doesn't matter.

The comparison is plain stupid. And I can say whatever I want because this person blocked me a long time ago, so :cool::cool:

I didn't respond to you before, that's all. But I appreciated your polite comment to SteveandChris in a different thread, honest. And you definitely can say and feel whatever you want, I wasn't challenging your right to do so. Or anyone else. I just hate to see people kind of going at each other here. And that's directed at everyone, including myself.

As far as tickets selling poorly, I could not care less, for the band, anyway. They'll be fine no matter what. But gloating about fans spending more money, or missing out on a concert because it was canceled, that's akin to people gloating about Lindsey being fired, and that was my point, that's all.

For the heck of it I looked up how much a Taylor Swift concert ticket cost. $200. And those are some elaborate sets. In a Fleetwood Mac show there's just a projector in the back. Why do we have to pay so much while the new generation gets to see their singers with fancy sets for $200?

Ticket sales are extremely strong in Sunrise, FL. I checked this morning and the pre-sale is still going on. The site had a statement "Only single seats available" It appears they sold out all presale except for 4 tickets in the entire arena. Each of the 4 seats are nowhere near each other. You cant even get any pre-sale seats together. ALL of those high priced tickets ARE SOLD OUT. When you check the arena for available tickets ONLY 4 remain (only 4 dots on the screen). And the reason they are still available is because they are single seats

If the Mac had taken in Bob Seeger their Michigan sales would be through the roof too.

Nah
Most Heartbreakers fans are so opposed to Mike joining the Mac. Everyone on a Heartbreaker page was saying how much Fleetwood Mac sucked. I get it, two different kinds of music. Central and Northern Florida maybe I would agree with your theory.

Who knows. The picture you posted just shows the back of the arena. For tickets just going on sale, its a brisk sale so far. I just cant believe the prices. So much more expensive than On With The Show. I found my seats from 2013 and they are hundreds of dollars more

Yeah, I mean here's one that shows the full floor and the other side sections. I'm just not convinced it's selling spectacularly well, especially considering the fact that the gray dots don't necessarily mean "seat sold." Even if I were going to see this tour, the last tour taught me it's smart to wait for the ticket drops, which inevitably come about a week out from the show date. It's nerve racking, but it was usually worth it.

Here's a link (https://www1.ticketmaster.com/an-evening-with-fleetwood-mac-sunrise-florida-02-20-2019/event/0D005497D224D144?artistid=735087&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=1&tm_link=artist_msg-0_0D005497D224D144&f_PPL=true&ab=efeat5787v1) to the Sunrise page, if anyone is interested in seeing for themselves. I've looked at a few venues so far, and they all kind of look like this to some extent. I don't think it means they're not selling... I mean, people have almost a year to buy tickets in some cases.

Has Lindsey ever filled an arena? If I remember correctly his shows seem to always take place in casinos, wineries, school auditoriums, and tiny club type venues. Something tells me FM won’t be feeling any jealousy towards him and his “small machine” career any time in the future, honestly.

Good point. Remember when Christine managed to sell five platinum records all on her own? Oh, wait....

This is a ridiculous argument to even have. We can all go ahead and debate who has more talent, who performs best, who can or can’t sing anymore, who to blame this whole break-up mess on, etc. all day. Those are all valid arguments and discussions. “Numbers”, however, aren’t debateable. We all know who fills the most seats and sells the most records.

No, you were repeatedly rooting for a band to fail and hoping they sell nothing and have to go crawling back to LB. I pointed out rather logically that they’ll sell tickets no matter what and that I highly doubt there will be any jealousy or competition sparked by LB, who we all know does low key tours in teeny tiny off-the-radar venues. Every comment I have made since then was in response to specific quotes directed at me. I never brought the words “numbers”, “sales”, or “hits” into this conversation. You all did and I replied.

Every comment I have made since then was in response to specific quotes directed at me. I never brought the words “numbers”, “sales”, or “hits” into this conversation. You all did and I replied.

We weren't talking about jealousy or competition. We're hoping Fakewood Mac tour fails because they fired Lindsey. We don't care about the quality of this band. We don't need to hear them. :wavey:

At first I wasn't sure about this but I just checked and wow, the tickets are indeed not selling too well. The shows in the Los Angeles area have only sold about 3/10 the amount of space. Significantly over half the seats are still available. Note, the LA area usually sells out VERY fast.
They're going to need to keep dropping those prices or they're going to find themselves playing to half empty arenas.

I'm not surprised tickets for many shows aren't selling as briskly as perhaps expected. A good portion of these shows are a year away, so the general public is in no rush to buy at the moment. You also have a lot of fans on the fence with this one. As shows get closer and excitement builds (and prices drop a bit), they'll step up, even if it's just out of curiosity. Remember, too, that the band is not touring on a hit record or even any new music. They have to really sell the nostalgia element minus one of the key members who helped build that legacy. It's hard for them to really push the "fresh new band" angle without any music to prove that it's actually a fresh new band with a great sound.

All that said, I think the tour will sell just fine. The Boston, Connecticut, and NYC shows are nearly sold out. Overall, it might not be a blockbuster, but the band ain't gonna go home with just pennies in their pockets. A tarnished reputation, on the other hand? Well, we'll have to wait and see how the shows are......

I didn't see a price drop for the San Jose show. The 200 seats were $95.50 for the pre sale and the regular on sale, and they still are. And everything in the 100's is also $229.50. Did I miss something?

I hate to say it, but I actually want the tour to fold before it gets to the Bay Area so I don't have to go. If they come, I'll go. I know. I'm weak. But I have never gone to a Mac show and not gotten tickets the very day they went on sale. I figure the worst I can do is get at 200 seat, which is what I think I'm going to do anyway.

Well, it isn’t exactly Stretch, either. It has Fleetwood, McVie, and McVie, the core of twelve (arguably fourteen in Mr. W and KH are included) studio albums, two live albums, and an album’s worth of b-sides and new songs on comps. It’s not the classic Fleetwood Mac, but it’s most definitely the real Fleetwood Mac.

It would have been a temporary situation due to an illness, just like when Steve Rinkov took over on drums for a song when Mick got sick.. John would still have been a member of Fleetwood Mac. Really no different than when The Beatles had a temporary fill-in for Ringo when he got sick. However, to their credit, Fleetwood Mac canceled the rest of the tour.

Fleetwood Mac tarnished their legacy last year by not crediting that album to Fleetwood Mac. This new lineup has nothing to do with the band’s legacy.

It’s obvious now that Stevie’s people have been calling the shots for years, and everybody plays along. Including Lindsey. By agreeing to release the album as something other than what it was and sticking to the “it just felt like a duet album” script, Lindsey showed he was every bit as capable and willing to tow the company line and ceded any future creative aspirations for the band, all to pacify a certain someone. He also played a part in the tarnishing of the band’s legacy, and frankly his own legacy. But, when he began straying from the company line and started making waves, he got the boot. I’d have more respect for him if he told them that it’s either a Fleetwood Mac album or he was taking his songs and walking away from the band altogether.

Don’t bullsh*t yourselves. They (ALL of them) don’t care about the band’s legacy and haven’t in a long, long time. They all play along and get their bag of money. Credit to Lindsey, at least he was eventually honest about it.

So, as a fan of the band’s overall body of work, I’m at least excited to hear a few songs I never dreamed I’d get to hear live. Maybe hearing more of that legacy they apparently only just tarnished will make me better appreciate just how badly they tarnished it.

I was just reading an article that Taylor Swift's tour is having problems selling tickets. There are so many seats available that she requested Ticketmaster to stop showing the resale tickets on their site. This puts only unsold available tickets as available. I love the idea because it screws the concert ticket hog who only buys to resell at a higher price. Taylor is one of the biggest concert grossers so this was interesting to read. I am curious now how the Mac tour will sell.

People nearly had an aneurysm when I pointed out some of Lindsey's (perceived) flaws. And yet if you're a Stevie fan and don't necessarily disagree with the "firing" then it's open season. What's really sad is that people are rooting for them to fail. What does it say about us as human beings that we want something bad to happen to people we don't even know but are so invested in that we come here every day just to talk about them and find out what's going on.

Mick is the ultimate carnival barker/snakeoil salesman. Like KISS did, I'm surprised he's not hawking Fleetwood Mac coffins.

Kiss was not so much a band as a marketing plan.

It is sad it has become like this, BUT what they did was a seismic event at the very end of their amazing careers. A slap in the face to the fans. They couldn't work it out for ONE more tour? It was the final straw for many of us and now we want to see how it all plays out. Sorry.

I think she's a good person inherently, her biggest flaw perhaps being her 'diva'/narcissist tendencies, I think she just made a really wrong call with this one, largely due to her grief for Tom. I think she just wanted Mike in the band and would do whatever it took. Same how she wanted Sheryl in the band back in the SYW days so she could have a friend, but x100. After Tom's death she wanted to be as close as possible to the people closest to Tom. Kind of creepily analogous to how she married her best friend's widow shortly after she died. She's human and she doesn't handle grief well.
I still 150% believe when she gets out of this headspace she's going to really, really regret this. I think it might actually break her heart down the line that she let this happen.

And there are several more reasons including her writing and singing. But yeah, her behavior... it's ALL about HER, she's always a victim, it's always somebody else's fault (especially Lindsey's) and she doesn't take responsibility for anything whatsoever.

Did Stevie ever interact with fans much to begin with? I don't mean it in a bad way but to me it seems like ever since she got famous she's always been kind to fans in the brief seconds that she'll sign something for them before getting rushed off by her peeps/have a meet and greet to promote something and that's about it. Just hasn't she always been that way? It's not like she's not nice to them, but she just doesn't really open herself much. Maybe she's worried for safety?

Why does anyone do something over and over again.....because it works.

While there are some critical on here of her attitude, the reality is, there are many who support her and applaud her exactly for that attitude.

She's a soul sister for many that feel they are victims of whatever situation they might be facing. This has emboldened Stevie, and reaffirmed to her that this point of view that has engulfed her life is the correct one.

Stevie (and Lindsey for that matter) lives in a world of Black and White...winners and losers, there is no grey, no inbetween. This is prevelent in lyrics and actions. Life is a scorecard to Stevie, she remembers each talley mark in each collum.

I have still not recovered from my last concert experience with FM, where she suddenly, after half of the gig, lost interest, she was upset about something. She did not even try to appear professional after that. People in the first row were dumbfounded by her attitude. We thought that maybe she was upset because we were cheering at Christine at all times. You could see how the other bandmembers tried to cover up her desinterest, especially Lindsey.

I had payed 300€ for one first row ticket and girlfriend did not even say good night that night. I'm still not over that.

I feel the same way. In fact, as I was driving home yesterday, "Italian Summer" came on my iPod which is my favorite track from In Your Dreams, and I starting singing along and thinking how much I love Stevie's music. She puts so much of herself into that music that by extension, I will never hate her.

Like you, I believe she is a good person and this is all a horrible aberration in her character that she will come to regret. I just hope she comes to her senses before one of them dies, and that when she does, Lindsey can extend her the same forgiveness he has received from her in the past.

I'm upset that my favorite band is in the crapper, even angry at times, but I can't hate Stevie. Maybe this is a much lower intensity, less extreme version of Lindsey's love/hate sans the romantic history, lol.

Well, Lindsey was never responsible of Stevie's firing.... and I think he has already forgiven her many times in the past.

I don't think this was a rushed decision, like many fans like to think. I think she knew what was at stake when she decided to put Lindsey's firing in motion. I don't think there will be regrets, or apologies, or come back to the band.

Seriously. I don't want the tour to fail so badly that they all wind up bankrupt (which would be impossible anyway, because it's my understanding that they all receive "guarantees" of a certain amount of money regardless of how well the shows do)*. I just want them to sell poorly enough that they realize they need Lindsey, and ask him back.

As time passes, though, and the casual fans hear all that great FM music during commercials, they may get a craving to hear it live and sales may begin to pick up. I'm not counting on poor sales continuing. We'll see.

*Of course, I also recognize that they are all richer than Midas without the tour, unless Mick has somehow managed to spend all of his money again.

I'm not saying spur of the moment, but simply stewing since Tom Petty's death.

She could have pulled a move like this before, and she didn't. Something changed. I believe that "something" was his death in October 2017.

The official explanation is that what changed was tour logistics, but come on! That doesn't add up. You don't destroy a band over that, especially when you replace him before letting him know that his request was apparently a deal-breaker. He leaves thinking they're considering it and is told after the fact that they've replaced him.

After hearing what his backing band member said / seeing the evidence regarding Lindsey leaving MusiCares believing he was still part of the tour, and seeing the lies perpetuated in the interview with Stevie interjecting that she just wanted to be happy when explaining why Lindsey was fired, it all became clear: he was stressing Stevie out and she used this conflict to remove him from the picture so the tour would be stress-free for her. She said it herself: Tom's death made her realize she just wanted to do whatever she needed to do to be happy.

That's why I think her grief is affecting her logic. Tom would be appalled that he's being used to justify Lindsey's firing. He was Lindsey's friend! I think Stevie will come to realize that treating Lindsey like that isn't really going to make her happy. True happiness cannot be derived from hurting others, no matter how "stress-free" it makes things in the short-term.

I don't think anyone here takes aim at Stevie because she is a woman.
And I certainly would never rejoice in any violence against her or Carol or anyone else. THOSE AREN'T THE ISSUES IN THIS CURRENT TIME.

There are a lot of issues here to be angry about. Calling someone sexist or racist is a HUGE accusation to make and it won't be tolerated here. We don't know each other well enough to make those assumptions.

If you feel that way about someone being racist, sexist, homophobic etc... take it up with me, Giulia or Michele. Bring evidence... and not just.. he called her a goat.. All 5 members have been raked over here.

I will leave my public opinion on Stevie and Mick's behavior aside for the moment to say that there's no room on this board for any of that bullcrap. We've known each other for a long time. (most of us)

I didn't call anyone specific a misogynist. I do see a lot of misogyny here in general. That's exactly what I said. And the fact that here you are so quickly shows me which side the bread is buttered on. I've been called all kinds of things and in a post upthread was threatened with permanent banning but that's okay. Don't worry I'm out. Go ahead and finish running this place into the ground. Lindsey has an army now so why not make it a crusade. I think it''s hilarious and highly ironic that you're a man who thinks sexism and misogyny is "bullcrap." That's because you've never been on the receiving end of it. It's not my job to bring evidence for you. It's not even hard to find. As far as knowing each other for a long time you've just admitted to giving your friends a pass. I've been around for almost 20 years too. What I'm trying to tell you is a large chunk of the fan community has been run off by this but no one wants to say it because of that very clique mentality and favoritism I mentioned previously. I'm going to duck out now so that you and the boys can smoke some cigars and dance around singing ding dong the witch is dead. Which witch is up to you. Once this brouhaha has passed it's going to be the same five people saying the same old sh!t and their friends telling them how funny and right they are. Fleetwood Mac is dead. Long live Fleetwood Mac.

Gldstwmn, I completely agree with you about misogyny on the board and have called it out before. It is the primary reason I barely participate in discussions even though I was initially excited to join the board.

There are a lot of comments about Stevie that are based on her appearance and weight along with insulting names (such as hag). None of these comments are necessary. It is fine not to like her but adults should be able to express their dislike by discussing specific behavior and by using adult words. Resorting to nasty comments about appearance and using words like hag is age-old behavior by men to take down women, period. That behavior is not considered acceptable in most environments and shouldn’t be acceptable here.

The result is that nearly every thread is dominated by a couple of men, one of whom can’t seem to let any comment by anyone go by without a response. It is little wonder why there is so little participation and traction on this board.

I find it interesting that the immediate response by some is to insist there is no misogyny instead of stepping back for a minute and reflecting.

It’s fine at some level for the owner to say that negative comments about band members are fair game, but she should take some sort of stand against misogynistic behavior. Otherwise she is saying that such behavior is acceptable and I find that to be quite sad.

Yup, all the above. There is a lot of anger on these boards from people male and female who dominate most threads. Trashy stuff, mostly, but also way out of line at times.

Some FM fans and especially those of some of its former members really are scary.

Gldstwmn, I completely agree with you about misogyny on the board and have called it out before. It is the primary reason I barely participate in discussions even though I was initially excited to join the board.

So you are criticizing the female owner of this site about how she handles misogynistic behaviour?
Exactly my humor.

I stepped back and reflected the 15 years I'm posting here more or less frequent. IMHO misogynistic behaviour is not common. It happens, but is usually not tolerated between members, other members will step up to put the aggressor in his place.

I'm a woman and I barely manage to not insult Stevie right now, but if, I wouldn't because of her appearance, age or gender, only because of her (*=%&*) character.

And, while you may find that sad, I feel that Stevie herself opened this can of worms by her (sorry, but: unacceptable, infuriating, selfish, delusial) behaviour over the last years. It's not right to insult her appeareance, but it is so tempting, given how she acts of lately, how she seemingly became an ugly person inside. And Stevie herself has always been the one to focus all attention to her looks, everything she does inhabits the element of her being exceptional beautiful. If you look around here, you'll find alot less comments in that regard about Christine, because she does not focus on her appeareance at all, so noone else will. I'm not saying that makes bashing Stevie for her looks okay, I'm merely explaining a possible reason for it.
Because people here are upset, angry and (yes, even) hurt by the recent development, they deal with it in different ways. It may be not nice or pretty, but the current situation is not nice or pretty either.

Agreed, and the comments are no longer focused on the band but on issues of semantics that would probably be more fitting under the Hot Topics thread.

BTW, I have no hesitation in calling Mi˘k a money-grubbing bastard. I think $tevie was the catalyst and he was all too happy to go along as long as it kept the gravy train rolling.

I think John and Christine are there out of loyalty to Mi˘k but I am disappointed they didn't have the decency to realize the band really should just call it a day at this point. I predict one or the other will do so by the end of the new lineup's tour.

First off, I'm gay and don't smoke cigars. Secondly, I've been in an abusive relationship on the receiving end of a man's fist. However, I'm not going to play the victim of it on a Fleetwood Mac forum where people are angry about this member or that member. This is not up for discussion in this forum.

You are free to get mad and leave. Nobody is stopping you. But, I won't allow you to make it worse for actual victims of abuse by conveniently spouting off about sexism and misogyny in a Fleetwood Mac forum where you are using it to push your agenda. And that's exactly what you are doing here. I'll say it one more time. You don't know the other members here well enough to make those assumptions. Stick to talking Fleetwood Mac or leave. You've been a respected member here for a long time. But this doesn't fly.

I normally don't post and looks like I'm heading off again. Ty to those however in the Post Rumours forum I had some interesting conversation with lately. I appreciate the talents of everyone in this band and what they gave us, even if at times under difficult circumstances.

They've tried to keep going as an act after tormented breakups. Stevie has an ego sure. Lindsey has a huge ego as well and since Rumours has tried to control the direction of the group, with middling results. He's such a brilliant guitarist but apart from two or three songs I've never really been into what he does. Maybe that makes me not a true FM fan, but there are folks who still miss Peter Green and preferred his playing. If LB is only one you like there is his solo career he can pursue.

These five had unique chemistry and still do live in concert, but out of that context once the show is over 'the thrill is gone' and I don't think it's just attitudes. It's just how life is.

Christine brought back some momentum with her return but now they seem back in a rut without strong new material. All five in the studio trying to do something new however might have just been detrimental to the balance of the group, which is delicate anyway - as with many former couples, the best you can sometimes hope for is to be civil but it's never gonna be really the same as it was before.

It's well known how temperamental and controlling Lindsey can be. He may keep it in check with Christine but they can't carry everything and reviews/reception of their work and performances together have been mixed. Which suggests that they're not the only driving talent and drawcard in this band.

These are older people now. All in or pushing their 70s but trying to still rock like they did when new groups weren't born yet. I have feeling maybe they should have just shut down everything. But I expect the upcoming tour will still be high performing standard.

They can still do it, but have to work around a few limitations nowadays. As for SN no longer interacting with audiences. Yeah I've noticed. She has poor vision. Christine said how she helps lead her off stage because she can't see well. To avoid risk of injury I think Stevie is more careful where and how she moves, while she puts more focus on other aspects of the performance. It's a shame but getting hurt would just screw up everything.

I have to say I see things here and if I didn't know better I'd think I was on a haters site, not a fan site? I can take constructive criticism or assessment. But don't know the need for posts that are just name calling and innuendo.

Nothing lasts forever but grateful for the recordings and memories of the era. Okay cutting it now, rant over, see yas and take care.

No, you are definitely not the only one.

If it dwindles down to the same few people back slapping each other over who can come up with the nastiest comment, it will be well and truly dead.

This is the crux of the problem. A few people are posting way more often than other members, so their narrative becomes the dominant one, and it's a particularly negative, nasty one. I'm baffled as to why some people get so much enjoyment out of denigrating others, but that's the way of the world it seems. There are so many other points of view that get drowned out on here. It's a real shame how ugly this site is much of the time.

I didn't come here for months until I saw the news of Lindsey being fired, which I read on a music magazine website. So I came back to find that nothing much has changed in terms of the conversation and dominant voices. It's sad that things can't change, but I really do appreciate all the other voices trying to cut through the noise, and offer something different, with interesting and positive things to say.

Despite Mick's reluctance to use the word, something 'ugly' did indeed happen, destroying the Rumours lineup just at the twilight of this band's existence. Oh come on...

Backstabbing?

It’s not like Lindsey was happy in the band anymore. Yes, he was counting on it, but it’s not like Fleetwood Mac was something he was really passionate about doing. Not after LBCM. There were disagreements over setlists, his lack of enthusiasm at Classic West matched his grab the money and run comment, and he was planning a concurrent tour. I can’t think of any other band where that would fly, and I won’t hold Fleetwood Mac to a different standard.

Can you seriously tell me that he looks happy in this picture?

There's a lot of people who aren't 100% thrilled with their jobs who still wouldn't apprecite being fired from them, especially in an underhanded way.

Not to mention it's not black and white. You can be unhappy about certain aspects of your job and find others very gratifying.

Out of all the ways to justify the firing, "It will make Lindsey happy" is probably the weakest.

His happiness, or unhappiness to be more accurate, is only relevant when it starts affecting his performances and his attitude towards what he’s giving to the band. Lindsey stopped being able to hide his unhappiness, and that can become a cancer in a situation like Fleetwood Mac. I actually respect that he couldn’t hide it, but I can also see why the others wouldn’t want to deal with it.

100% agree.
Yes it's no secret Lindsey didn't enjoy the Classic shows. They were just two shows and given his stance on becoming an "oldies act" it's not hard to see why he didn't like them, as it was probably the most shameless money grab/oldies gig there was. But he was his great usual source of energy on the last tour as well as the Buckingham McVie tour and it has been confirmed that he wanted to tour and was looking forward to it. Especially if he thought he could do his solo shows at the same time to let his 'artist' side have its outlet.
He's obviously not happy at all about this. Look at the reaction from his family.

Aside from the Classic shows-- TWO shows, literally just two pretty cheesy oldies shows with the Eagles and Journey and whoever else it was-- Lindsey has always been a great ball of energy when performing with FM, he was even he only mostly wanting to make a new album. I highly doubt he was so 'unhappy' in the band.

How do you know his unhappiness started affecting his performances? You state this as if it's proven fact.

All you have is this:

1) In the opinion of some fans, he did not play as well as usual at two performances (BTW, I think people should watch his performance and see for themselves before repeating someone else's assessment of his playing that night).

2) Prior to these performances, in one interview, he stated that he was only doing these two performances for money.

#1 is a matter of opinion. Not everyone even agrees this is true.

Even if #1 were true, declaring that it must be caused by #2 is a logical fallacy:

Post hoc, ergo propter hoc.

In reality, there are many other things that could have affected his playing that night (if it was affected). You cannot state definitively it was due to his unhappiness with the situation, unless you are a mind reader. Consider that before you proffer it as justification for his firing.

I was at Classic East---THE WHOLE BAND WAS OFF--None of them liked each other that night. First off, SNL got to the stage ~ 3-5 minutes after the rest of the band, was awkward. None of them seemed particularly in sync with each other. We still got the Sara and Landslide smoochy smoochy, but if LB was so checked out, why did he get so obviously annoyed when his guitar was out of tune on GYOW. He was no more checked out than the rest of them. That's a joke argument if I ever heard one!

To be fair to Christine in 1997 (21 years ago), she had already retired from touring at the end of 1990, and her songs on”Time” made it clear she was leaving the band. Her presence on that tour was somewhat of a miracle, and I always thought it was her going out on top after a less than stellar decade. But, you could tell she was ready to be done.

As for Stevie…That’s not a point I want to argue. I’ve said many times since Mick’s Playboy interview that Stevie should be shown the door. And, I especially felt that when they called the album something other than Fleetwood Mac. She’s the money. Her people call the shots, and everyone plays along and gets their bag of money. Including Lindsey until recently. Fair? No. Just reality. One that makes me sick.

I'm not sure which thread it was, but a couple of people suggested that Lindsey's current silence might be due to a sort of Stormy Daniels situation--taking some money and agreeing not to speak.

On reflection, that theory doesn't seem to gel at all with the SNS posts that have been made by his family; nor does it seem to gel with Lindsey as we know him (i.e. to choose money over principles/truth would surely be anathema to him).

I don't know if it will flop, but I don't see it being nearly as successful as OWTS--for the mere fact you don't have all 5 of them. I said it on another post, it's curious we haven't heard anything about ex-US dates yet. Promoters must be watching this closely. Also--and I may be wrong here--does Stevie have solo obligations towards the latter part of 2019? That will severely hamstring anything outside the US (although--maybe that's their out clause should "An Evening with Fleetwood Mac" be an epic failure in the states) "We will resume the rest of this tour once Stevie finishes her solo obligations"...and in italics "And we crawl over hot flaming sharp coals to Lindsey Buckingham's house and beg him to save our a$$e$ once again"

He'd be a fool to say yes. LET IT BURN!

I don't know if it will flop, but I don't see it being nearly as successful as OWTS--for the mere fact you don't have all 5 of them. In which case I hope he says:"Sorry (not sorry) but no. I'm busy. Bye now".

I agree. I'm sure that by the time the shows roll around they'll have sold enough tickets (probably aided by further lowering those ridiculous prices) but I don't think it'll have the same success as OWTS or even the recent tours prior to that. They really have gotten a LOT of backlash over what's happened. Random celebrities have spoken out about it. That, combined with ridiculously priced seats, is definitely going to impact the progress of sales.

This little Stunt has proven just how far removed this lot is from their fan base. Yes--there will be people there who want to hear Dreams, Gypsy, and Landslide....and they will get that, and these are the same people that are going to hear "Don't Dream It's Over", "Hypnotized", "Oh Well"..... and the same bunch will be running for beers and the bathroom. #whatcoloristheskyinyourworldMickandStevie"

I cracked up when Stevie mentioned “a raucous Rattlesnake Shake.” Does she really think that in 2018 at a Fleetwood Mac arena show that’s going to be nothing but a bathroom/beer break for 75% of the audience who like you said, are expecting the S/C/L “Rumours era” greatest hits set? By all means, do a 7-8 minute version of RS, Hypnotized, or some other chestnut from the archives and see what happens. Sad but true, there are reasons for the stale setlists by oldies groups. And please dear God, nobody mention Springsteen. Different audience with far different expectations by a fan base who have been treated to 3-4 hour mixed up set lists for over 40 years.

IMO only Oh Well ends up really being doable long term.

I don't have my tickets yet. The shows in my area won't be until Feb or March I think, and I don't want to tie up the money so far in advance. I'll wait until closer to the shows. Also, by then perhaps they will announce a second leg with a tour stop closer to me that won't involve travel/hotel etc. We'll see...

I am bumping this one up because I really don't know where to put it. In other threads, the "success" of the ticket sales has been discussed regarding some of the larger cities like LA and NY. With some of these shows not happening until 2019, it's understandable why they may not be doing as well as you would think. The one venue I've been curious about is San Jose---where it all started for S&L, and where Lindsey has been known to get very emotional. There's a beautiful clip on Youtube of Stevie comforting him (similar to what he has done for her in Phoenix) Well--I took gander an San Jose--which is in November this year...there are thousands of tix still available and they don't look resale to me. That's an interesting marker for me

Standard prices dropped about $60 between presale and general sale, so I snagged San Jose tix during the first week.

I haven't been checking back though, because I don't wanna be pissed off if I see that they dropped again!

Didn’t they have to drop prices for MusiCares?

If they did, I never saw it. I considered going and was watching tickets like a hawk the up until about noon the day of (the absolute latest I could have caught a train to New York), and I never saw prices drop. If memory serves, there were some in the $350 range the day before. Those all disappeared the day of the show, and only the $500-ish range tickets would show up. I called the venue to ask what gives, and they claimed the only tickets they could sell me were the $500ish ones. So, something happened with those seats, but it wasn't a price drop that I saw.

I of course regret not going now that I know that was likely the last show for the only version of the band I would bother paying to see at this point. I justified not going because it was predominantly going to be other acts performing their songs, but hindsight being 20/20, I should have just gone for it.

For that kind of money you would have been better off going to the Classic East last summer at Citi Field. At any rate, I don't think they will ever assemble again as the Rumours line-up. :(

It was"t a must-see concert. Tusk by FM was really good. GYOW was not the best I've seen or heard it. The only tribute songs that were memorable for me were Big Love.
I was not thrilled by Jares Leto's NGBA. When John Legend was announced as a performer for the event, I thought he would perfect NGBA through piano. I think his voice is angelic. He cancelled his appearance. He did do a great job at Elton's tributea few nights later.
