that new half moon she wears is eerily reminiscent of the Studio 54 logo......
I see that Johnny Cash has made a return appearance... She really looked crazy-ugly on that particular night in October. I feel quite embarrassed for her, poor thing.

Johnny Cash? Crazy ugly? What are you talking about?

What?! She looks great!
I just want to be clear that I'm not judging Stevie on her appearance - I actually couldn't care less - but I did think she looked particularly rough on that occasion. She seemed tired, her hair was a mess and the outfit did her no favours. However, the baton twirling was mildly amusing and demonstrated that she can be a good sport once in a while. I've taken a dim view of her actions over the last few years but maybe she isn't the grumpy old buzzard I had come to believe she was after all?

So you weren't judging her by her appearance yet you say she looked rough her outfit did her no favors and then you say maybe she's not a grumpy old Buzzard? Sure

I like how he was trying to gently guide her off to join the others and it takes him like 3 tries before she gets it and toddles off ...she wanted to stand there and chat for a bit. She ought to know by now that tv shows are tightly timed...not like the old days with Mike Douglas and Merv Griffin or Dick Caveat and Dinah Shore where shows were a full hour of people having actual conversations and not just shilling their latest stuff.:D
Wow, I thought my explanation was reasonably straightforward but never mind.

Gosh, I'm glad you weren't judging her appearance. Thanks for the explanation

Well you might have to explain how these two statements sync up.

Whilst I don't have to explain anything, what I stated was that I was not judging Stevie on her appearance (ie Stevie herself - as an artist). I then proceeded to comment on her actual appearance on this one occasion. There is a distinction.

Yes she was so cute and adorable. She was even humble which was kind of funny.
It was a great skit.

Johnny Cash was known as "The Man in Black", people.
I'm guessing this is a comment on the dreariness of her all black outfit.
Let's all take a deep breath and center ourselves.

this is nitpicky I suppose but is anyone else wishing she or her hairstylist would use a little product to take away some of the flyaway frizziness her hair has had now for a long time?? All these flying strands, like when you get static electricity. Sister needs a good quick wipe down with a brush or smooth over with a little product on the hands to tame down those flyaways. Looks like she fell asleep on the bus on the way over --- not sexy, more like oh grandma just woke up from her nap in the Barcalounger watching Wheel of Fortune.:sorry:

Joan Crawford: "No more plastic combs!"
If they don't use the right comb and brush on her, that increases the static and fly away problem. But I'd rather have it look like that than too groomed, like it was for the SYW tour.

Frizzy hair unfortunately can't be resolved, there are some ways to keep it in check, like using tools in non-static material for brushing, keep the hair hydrated and apply moisturizing products to create a barrier between the hair and the ambient, but if the air is very humid and/or someone wears synthetic fabrics there's very little to do.

As someone with naturally curly (and subsequently frizzy) hair, I can confirm that oftentimes even smoothing products will not tame my mane. And if it's even slightly humid you can just forget about it because the frizz will just do it's thing. I'm not an expert on Stevie's hair or anything, but I think some of you guys are being just a bit hard on her.

I have naturally curly, frizzy hair, have my whole life.....used to dream of having straight, glossy hair.....so I get it. I guess I should have left out the word frizzy coz honestly what I really get bugged about is the flyaway thing. It's like she just took off her winter woolly hat and her hair is full of static or something.
I didn't mind her very groomed straight hair look on that tour..
I just think the flyaways make her look a bit disheveled.... in a distracted old lady way or something, I can't really explain it.:sorry:

I know what you mean it is static electricity, I have it when it's frosty weather !!!!!
I actually like her dishevelled look, she had it during The Dance DVD, and looked super, super sexy...(almost as if she had just got out of bed with Lindsey, )......

Does Stevie wear anything less than pure silk, pure chiffon, the softest Egyptian cotton??

I think her hair is kinda fried. She's been straightening it/blowing it out for the past 20 years or so. That's probably why it looks frizzy at times, from my own experience with damaging parts of my hair and dealing with breakage, it can give that same type of look. She needs to trim and get some better conditioner/heat protectant or just give the heat a rest.

Not in fans' fantasies, but in real life those things don't keep you warm or protect you from the weather when you're out of California. For that purpose you'll need wool or acrylic, and they both cause static hair.
However I have frizz too and my hair is straight and thin, the cause is porous hair texture that is more frequent and accentuated in curly and wavy hair. Rain, snow and other atmosferic agents ionize and charge slightly air so it reacts with our manes. Porous hair is particularly affected because it tends to absorb more humidity from air.
Surely Stevie's hair is porous since even when it's straightened it is a bit opaque and it's naturally a bit wavy. Also the fact that her hair is damaged by styling procedures and products adds to it.
