View Full Version : Changes to the set list for the second leg of the tour

Any guesses? I don't think there will be a lot of changes, for example I'm sure she'll keep the songs from 24 Karat, the Bella Donna/Wild Heart combo, and Crying in the Night. She had mentioned Rooms on Fire several times prior to the first leg, so I wonder if she'll include it this time? With Ooh My Love being included in the Fleetwood Mac Tango expanded edition, this would be a great time to include that song, too.

I'm predicting that the setlist will stay the same. She may bring back Outside the Rain/Dreams instead of Gypsy. I think she will keep Landslide even though I really loved when she closed the show with Leather and Lace during the first part of the tour. I would love Rooms on Fire and was hoping she would perform it since she talked about it. I also think it would be neat if she rotated some of the 24 Karat Gold songs and put in 24 Karat Gold and All the Beautiful Worlds.

We know Rooms on Fire is/was definitely on Stevie's mind!
I could also envision Lady from 24K. All the Beautiful Worlds would be great too.
I could see something else in Gypsy's place as well, such as another FM song. Sara? Angel?
I'd love to see Nightbird live.

Hmmm... since Stevie isn't touring with Buckingham McVie, I wonder if she might include a few more FM songs now. Personally, I hope she doesn't, but I can see why she might now.

I am curious too. Stevie does not change that much but this tour she has surprised many with songs and changes so far. I too would love to hear Rooms on Fire but I would say drop one of the 24k gold songs (don't flame me).

I think she'll probably do like during the first leg of the tour, she'll slowly drop three or four songs along the way to substitute them with another song.

I wonder if she'll still put the BN album photo up during Crying in the Night if she keeps it on the setlist. Might be kind of awkward with everyone now knowing about Buckingham McVie. Or could be not awkward at all and it's just me who thinks that, but it's a thought.

I think it will remain the same too. The first set list itself was a monumental change for her. But I hope we get at least one new song.

I'd love to see her drop New Orleans for basically...any other song. But I doubt that will happen.
I bet we'll get an almost identical setlist, with perhaps 2-3 changes/updates over the court of the leg, just like last time.

But for Stevie, that's a lot of changes! I think the set list will be mostly the same, but with 1 or 2 new songs in and and 1 or 2 songs out.

In reality, I think very little about the setlist would change, but this might be cool:
replace Enchanted with Rooms on Fire
replace Starshine with Mabel Normand
replace If You Were My Love with She Loves Him Still

I like where you're going here. I LOVE IYWML live, though.
Enchanted and Starshine are both so similar in sound and tempo, however, that I'd love to see Starshine swapped out for Mabel Normand. And Rooms on Fire would be fantastic!

Moonlight is the best part of the show, but If You Were My Love is way up there too.
Someone in the front row should give her a white rose during that line in the song.

I LOVED seeing her at MSG last year! I was bummed that I did not get to hear Outside the Rain (have never heard that live) but was stoked to hear Bella Donna, Wild Heart, Belle Fleur, If You Were My Love, and Gold and Braid.
I would personally love it if she replaced
If Anyone Falls with...Rooms on Fire (I have never liked If Anyone Falls live)
Enchanted with...24 Karat Gold
New Orleans with...All the Beautiful Worlds
And I'd want her to add Outside the Rain and Dreams back in but keep Gypsy :-) :-)
I am in the minority that I never get tired of hearing Landslide live, but that may be because I rarely listen to it on my iPod. I think it's the perfect live song and I get chills and tear up in every concert.
I remember thinking why is there nothing from Trouble in Shangri-La on this tour but then I realized she actually performed a few songs from that pretty regularly in the 2000s (Sorcerer, Fall from Grace, Love Is) so I guess that's why.

I like your set list edits but I would also swap if you were my love for something...cathouse blues could be fun.
As for TISL, how about a live Candlebright? She should work that one in sometime. I do wonder if there are any older outtakes of that one, like we just found with Sorcerer on the deluxe WH.

Like everyone else has said, the show is amazing as is. Having seen it twice there is really
one change I can justifiably argue and that is "Enchanted." It's like the live song that never seems to die. Not only that, her version this time around is very tame. I get why she includes it (an easy upbeat song to sing), but I'm just sick of it. I know she rehearsed "Rooms on Fire" and even said that she was going to sing it. So that admission made me sad that it didn't make the cut. I would love "Lady", the title track, and Mabel Normand to make its way in as well.

I'm a little disappointed it's the exact same set, since Stevie had tweaked it a few times during the first leg. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting major changes at all, just a song or two swapped. Hope it was a good show!
So much for 'club shows', 'two shows a night' and 'changing the setlist' or whatever she uttered last year. Lazy and boring.

I just hope the setlist stays with the number of songs. Stevie is famous for dropping 1-2 songs with no replacements mid to late tour. In 1989 she dropped Talk to Me and Juliet. In 1998 she dropped Stop Draggin My Heart Around, and in 1986 she dropped Gold Dust Woman and Sara....all of them without replacements.
She probably drops a few to give her more time to tell long stories that nobody cares about between songs.

He was trying to get a rise out of you. Us Stevie fans LOVE her stories. I loved the 15 minute Without You stories on the FM tour(2 tours ago) that used to make John McVie want to smash his instrument over an amp.
Not trying to get a rise out of anyone, just saying sometimes her stories go on and on. I love her, but I'd rather hear an extra song or 2. The people I went to her recent concert with were more casual Stevie fans and they were making jokes about her long stories.

Folks on this board should refrain from speaking on behalf of Stevie fans. I am a die hard Stevie fan and I love to listen to her speak, just not in a concert setting. I can (and do) listen to her interviews for hours. She is an exceptionally interesting woman. However, when I go to see her perform, I want to hear her sing and dance and bewitch the crowd. I don't want to hear her talk incessantly. I feel a moderate amount of speaking, strategically placed in the setlist, can absolutely enhance the overall show. But to speak at great length between practically song, for me, is boring, excessive and distracting. It completely kills the music vibe. This is not right or wrong, it's just one Stevie fan's opinion. It doesn't make me any less of fan for feeling like this. Nor am I alone in my opinion.

I think that there's a limit to how many songs Stevie can sing each night without compromising her voice, so even if she didn't talk between tunes it wouldn't change the number of songs in her setlist.

Well said, I agree with you.
I was watching the show last night, and no one gives a sh about Sunset Sound. Or who called who. Or whatever. She need to stop all that, people were getting restless/irritable listening to her. "Just shut up and get on with it," I think is the quote that I heard. There's also nothing new or interesting with these stories! Stand Back story that she did last night was almost the exact same spiel from Storytellers, right down to Prince doing the "dee-dah, dee-dah, dee-dah" part. And she keeps name dropping... What's with Tom Petty's basement? No, we do not all wish we were there. All the talking really ages her, even when she doesn't stand up there and actually count the years on her fingers.
That said, I've still got my front row center ticket so..

I agree with you too. Usually I love her stories, but on this tour there's almost a story between each song and it really breaks up the flow of the concert and decreases the music vibe and energy. I think if she had organized the show more like the Enchanted tour where she had a special segment in which she talked and introduced the new songs but then performed the rest of the concert without breaking it up, it would have worked better.

Well apparently I have offended a few Ledgies by claiming that most SN fans want to hear her stories. OK so that is obviously not true but the one thing you and I have in common is we both attended SN's concerts in the 1980's. And just like u, I wished she had talked more back then. I think that if like me and u, had one been a fan since the 1970's(don't know if you were tho but guessing u were) and followed her career all this time u might be enjoying this tour more than someone who is a more recent fan a la The Dance. This show is so refreshing. I love when any performer makes me feel like I am listening to them one on one and am always curious about the meaning of a song.

This is one of the things about the internet... now, we ALL know not just the entire set list, but all the stories behind each song. Between reading the intros here, or watching them them here or on YouTube, most fans have already heard the stories before we actually go to the concert.
I had the same reaction when I saw FM during the Dance tour, where Lindsey repeated almost ver batim the same comments he had made on the MTV special and ended with something like "Isn't that we-ei-ir-rd?!?" using the exact same inflections and everything!

That is so true. He is very rehearsed.
Stevie talked on stage in the 80's but half of what she said was babbles and made no sense. When I saw her in Pittsburgh in 1983 she did a great intro to Beauty and the Beast and talked about the movie, etc. I have a live recording of her in Chicago introducing the same song and its funny because she is coked out of her mind and not making clear sense "This is a story about a prince who got turned into a beast because..........we don't know what he did."
Ok that explains it perfectly
I miss the rambles but the Klonopin years were really sad. I saw her in 1989 and 1990 and she never spoke about anything.

I don't mind the stories and talking at all. It's who she is. Those people actually yelling out, "Get on with it!" - a lot of people these days have what I call Snapchat Attention Span - What's next! Hurry! Get on with it!
Stevie isn't about that and I don't see her changing anytime soon. People I know who have talked to her at length have said she's quite the talker. Now she's bringing that part of her personality to the stage. It is what it is.

When you hear Missing Persons' "Destination Unknown" over the PA system, then get back to your seat pronto, as Stevie and the gang will hit the stage directly after. Or at least that's how it was with all 4 shows I attended last year. :)

I went to two shows on the first leg, and while I didn't time it either time, it really seemed short to me. You've already gotten lots of answers ranging from 25 to 45 minutes. Honestly I would have thought it was less than 20. The time between opener and headliner usually seems like an eternity to me, but the time went so quickly in Vegas that I actually decided to do my bathroom break during the Pretenders when I was in Los Angeles....that was a bigger venue and I figured there were would be a bigger crowd to fight during intermission.
