For those who don't know, indie director Glenn Aveni has resurrected and almost completed the project of the documentary about the first Us Festival and decided to launch a crow-funding campaign on kick-starter here (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1900037279/the-us-festival-1982-a-feature-length-documentary?ref=project_link) to clear the rights for more music, specifically that of the second edition of 1983, and put it on the DVD as an extra bonus disc. Already many full performances for 1982 have been cleared but Stevie's set is from 1983 so it's still to be completely cleared. Here he put a remastered clip of Stand Back from the set, if you want to have both the Fleetwood Mac full performance from the 1982 Us Festival and the whole Stevie set from the 1983 Us Festival completely remastered and on DVD please consider backing up the project or at least spread the message:

Is it just me or is the "touched" or re-mastered version worse? She sounds so nasally. I remember recording this from the radio in 1983 during an US Festival special. I thought she sounded horrible then. It was not until many years later when I heard the original and was like.....WOW, this sounds so much better.
In fact, Stevie sounds really good at the US Festival except Rhiannon. My gosh what happened backstage to change her voice so much. The US Festival Rhiannon is so different vocally from the other songs. Her voice is raw and fried compared to all the other songs.
I love her US Festival footage. She is so cute with her coke fueled banter about giving out the Wild Heart album as Girl Scout Cookies and her windshield wipers wave during How Still My Love.

Stand Back and Stop Draggin' My Heart Around went onto the official dvd of the 1983 Us Festival and they got redubbed because of technical sounding problems during the show.

Oh that explains it. It was something technical that you don't hear during the concert footage. Funny you mention those 2 songs because the national US Festival broadcast (pre-recorded) featured Outside the Rain, Stand Back, and Stop Draggin My Heart Around.
In 1983 I thought that was her setlist since the radio broadcast pretended it was broadcasting LIVE from the event
I also love when she gets lost in the crowd during Stand Back and is quite late back to the microphone. When I heard that long guitar on the radio, I had no idea what actually was going on.

Exactly, the DVD and the broadcast are from the same source; the problems arised only at a certain point during the show, in fact Outside the rain (that was at the beginning of the set) didn't need dubbing, but if you listen to the bootleg you can hear that at some points during songs the sound of the microphones drastically lowers and Stevie is forced to scream, hence why towards the end of the set her voice is in bad shape.

Too bad American TV was in its pre MTS Stereo days before it went stereo not long after.

That makes sense because she is screaming on Stop Draggin and does not sound particularly well.

For years my only source of the US-festival (as a non-americas I always thought US stood for the name of the country) was a tape traded NTSC-to-PAL-converted VHS-tape, so the quality was worse in the first place :-)
No I do have a more decent, digital recording and very looking forward to a remastered version ...

Unfortunately Stevie's footage can be included only if the crowdfunding is successful.

Yes, plug-ins are definitely a pain in the ass.
I hope enough people back it, I really want also Stevie's full set among the DVD extras.
When my friend will return and lend me her card I'll back the project, there's no fix amount but if I give 21$ I'll receive the DVD download with some bonuses for reward. I was tempted by the Blu-Ray but I don't have enough money.

The other day I pledged. If someone is interested, this is the page the very kind director Glenn set up to explain for everyone who isn't familiar with Kick-Starter, I just want to add that you can also sign up using your Facebook data just by clicking on the "sign with Facebook" button:
ABOUT KICKSTARTER / HOW IT WORKS
BASICS: Kickstarter is a crowd funding site. It is used by artists to raise $ for projects. People “back” a project they like by making a “pledge”. They get a “reward”, usually something pretty cool.
Here are the 6 main points to remember:
1) Backing a Kickstarter project is NOT making a donation! When you "back" or financially support a Kickstarter project, you are purchasing a “reward”. You are also helping the project at the ground floor, but you always get to choose a "reward" of fair or comparable value. The more you pledge, the nicer the Reward, and there are many possible levels of support.
2) Most important thing to remember: When you back a Kickstarter project, it is a "pledge". No money is charged to your card. NONE! You can increase, decrease, or cancel the pledge at any time. You do not even need a present available balance, and there is ZERO RISK.
3) The card is ONLY charged AFTER the campaign, and ONLY IF the campaign is successful to reach its target. (The US Festival target is $60K, and the campaign ends Dec 19. If it doesn’t reach the target by then, no money is transacted and no pledges are EVER charged. A Kickstarter campaign is all or nothing – that’s why we’re counting on you to help get there.)
4) The earliest pledges are the most important. It helps the project get seen by more people. If you know the Project Creators, the sooner you back the better, and again - the card is not charged until the end.
5)The only things needed to set up a Kickstarter account are a name and email. You can even use a fake name. It takes less than a minute. You go to Kickstarter.com (https://www.kickstarter.com/), click Sign Up, enter a name and email, pick a password, and you have an account. Boom. Done.
6) Once you have an account, you can make a pledge. CLICK HERE TO GO TO OUR PAGE (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1900037279/the-us-festival-1982-a-feature-length-documentary?ref=project_link)
That’s it! When you go to our page, please plan to spend a few minutes. Watch the video. Read the copy. Scroll down and watch the music video in the MUSIC section – featuring B-52’s, Talking Heads, and Tom Petty. Then choose any Reward, and follow the prompts from there. If questions, email me/us or click Contact Me on the page, upper right.

I pledged a week ago so I commented my reason for wanting this movie to be available to the public: being the closest I will ever get to experience my favourite artists in one of their best moments.
If someone has pledged, comment for Glenn too, I had the chance to talk to him on Facebook and he's a very genuine person, he deserves at least that:

The end is near, the project is both so close and yet so far from our reach. I still hope for a miracle.
This is the main video of the project by director Glenn Aveni, it has some nice glimpse of Fleetwood Mac, whatch if you still haven't (and maybe pledge?):

I pledged 21$ because I couldn't afford more.
I think so too, this is a very big documentary.
Actually there are many things we're about to get and nobody talks about:
1) This two full-footages from this very big documentary
2) Studio footage of Stevie from the new documentary about Jimmy Iovine
3) A stage show about Christine's life
4) A new Fleetwood Mac reissue
Why isn't anyone more interested?

I just want to say that the project is right now at 99% completion circa and it will end in 5 hours, only 886 $ are missing.
If this projects gets all the 60'000$ we will see this very important documentary in a few days instead of a year from now and directly at our home, and we can also choose which full performances to have as a bonus rewards, on top of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks there are a lot more great artists and bands like Greatful Dead, David Bowie, The Police, U2 and more. If someone is interested but still hesitant, this is the moment.
