So, first numbers in for the tour and they are very good indeed. These are the kind of numbers I would associate with Fleetwood Mac and not Stevie Nicks solo.
Anyway, from Billboard:
Stevie Nicks, The Pretenders Toyota Center Houston, Texas Oct. 29, 2016 $970,641 8,440 / 9,306 1 / 0 $150, $99, $69, $49 Live Nation
So not full capacity but not far off. Look at the gross! Nearly $1 million! Seriously impressive.

James89, I apologize for my ignorance, but where can I see these numbers other than here? Are they available on the Billboard website? (I searched but couldn't find it.)
Thank you for sharing. The tour really is impressive (http://www.thestate.com/entertainment/local-events/article113352743.html).

I think they're only available in Billboard magazine or for people with subscriptions. I get them from a forum called UKMIX.

I think this is especially impressive considering neither Stevie or The Pretenders have a major hit single or are getting major airplay right now + there's been fairly little advertising for this tour.

This is really interesting, thanks for this update. I've always wondered how take home profit plays out for Ms. Nicks. If this particular show in Houston grossed 970,641 (nearly 1 million), how much do you think Stevie is paid after expenses are deducted?
After the cost of renting the arena, paying the musicians, transportation, hotel, insurance, fuel, prop/assembly workers deducted, what's left?
In other words, how much does Stevie Nicks get paid to walk onstage each night for the 24KG Tour?

My husband checked to see what it would cost to rent her for a private party so i would guess her paycheck is at least a paltry half a million from ticket sales ( merchandise is gravy )

When I saw Dolly Parton this year, she said to the crowd that by using a drum machine instead of a drummer during this tour, she saved $75,000! Her tour lasted quite a while, at least 6-7 months. I have no idea how much Stevie pays her band members, but for a 3 month tour I'd wager they get around half of $75,000 or less. Someone like Waddy would make more. Along with the tour merchandise, Stevie definitely rakes in the bucks.

I'm thrilled for Stevie and her success as well.
I think a combination of things made this tour successful. Adding The Pretenders was a brilliant decision. Two strong, iconic female singers. Great classic songs. A mutual love and respect for each other. Fans from the same generation.... It was a magical bill that pleased fans of both artists, unlike the tragic outing with Rod Stewart.
Word of mouth also contributed greatly. Stevie received overwhelmingly glowing reviews for her show. A new setlist, an engaged and energetic performance, genuine happiness to be performing new/different songs, funny and charming stories. It was classic Stevie, and the audience picked up on the positive vibe and told their friends about it.
As always, the successful tour of a reunited Fleetwood Mac in 2014-15 helped give momentum to Stevie's own trek. She may not want to record with them, but she has to acknowledge that being in the band contributes in profound ways to her solo success.
If Stevie and her management were smart, they'd put out some new product to take advantage of the great press and success of the tour. But I've been a fan long enough to know that that ain't gonna happen.... :-)

I was surprised to see so many younger fans singing along to the songs from "24K," at the show I saw n Florida last November.
I think many downloaded the album from torrents, shared files, etc.

BUT , I do with she'd toss 3 songs into the mix.

I agree, but I don't think it's gonna happen, at least in the next future.
As far as we know after she closed her contract with her label in 2014 she hasn't made a new one either with the same or another label, and I think not many labels would offer a satisfying contract for her at this point in her career. I've sort of thougth in the back of my mind that her newfound aversion to recording new material may stem from this kind of situation.

Guitar.com: I figured it was something along those lines. And are you working with Stevie Nicks these days?
W: Well I will be. At this point Stevie is on the road with Fleetwood.
Guitar.com: Yeah, I mean when she's done with that.
W: Oh yeah. We have every intention of getting back on the road and promoting the record we made, that no one has heard yet.
Guitar.com: And you'll be serving as musical director?
W: Sure, yeah. Definitely. I just spoke to her the day before yesterday, and she's looking forward to it very much, as I am. We made a great record and no one has heard it yet.
Guitar.com: Right, you've got to get out there.
W: Yeah. Well just timing-wise, it didn't work out, because Christine coming back into the band (Fleetwood Mac) precluded everything, because as soon as the promoters heard about it, every show was sold out.
Guitar.com: Of course.
W: And now they're out there killin', so it's great. But we'll be back early next year, probably.
And this was what the poster in question said last year:
what I know
tour with Pretenders
new album
Dave is out
Major Producer in
New Gypsy in Major Movie
FMac tour '17
Stevie still has not contributed as of yet
few hints at other projects
Now, I'm not saying that it won't ever happen, it's just that on one hand Stevie's way of thinking seems to be somewhat changed, even if I have to say she changes idea a lot and probably will change again. On the other hand the fact that Stevie collaborated with Lana del Rey and she hinted that her own producer (and Stevie's past producer) Rick Nowels "did stuff with Stevie Nicks a while ago" stirred my hopes.

Yes, that's a better explanation actually. And he meant the 24K Gold Tour brought more people to hear the record songs.
I don't think that 24K Gold will be Stevie's last output, but I don't think she'll venture into making fast records with quick recording sessions ever again, so no new album in the near future.

Who expected the album to be a hit? Are people retarded or something? She is in her 60s for Gods sake.
Classy response as usual, Jondalar

I disagree. I bet we have an announcement by July sometime. It may not be SFTV 2, but I think we'll hear something.

Quote from above:
When I saw this I thought he was referring to 24KG and the fact that it sold poorly, hence "nobody has heard it."

Oh noone would be happier than me if that happens (SFTV 2), I'm just not gonna hold my breath.
However it's possible that she'll release something and I think it's probable she's working at the moment, it's a hot period for her.
She also talked about recording more songs and repackage the album, that would be more likely in my opinion.

I'll be honest- I find this stunning! The album was not a hit but this tour has performed beyond expectations. When the tour was first announced, I really thought it would be a bust, but it was so popular she had to add over 15 more dates.
Incredible.
I think, the tour was a success because everyone knows and loves Stevies back catalogue.
People still want to see her because she is STEVIE NICKS.....and she can still give a really good show.
With the Album unless you are a diehard fan, the songs included would be unknown.
So people like to hear old stuff they know......maybe.
Or Stevie could be right people just don't buy records anymore....
That's not quite true tho' just this passed week I bought "Tempest " by young Bob,
And Imelda Mays latest..."Life Love Flesh Blood"."...."she is very good.

In my unlikely fantasy world, we get a repackage with a complete second volume and a live CD/DVD of the show they filmed.

That's not so unlikely though.. They've already filmed several shows, so there's something in the works there, so I would be truly surprised if there wasn't at least something released this summer.

Absolutely, the DVD will have to come out at some point; what is still uncertain is the repackage or whatever form of new musical output.
However I wouldn't dislike at all the repackage idea, maybe it would be much more appropriate than a new album since she's still in the midst of the 24K Gold Tour; she wouldn't even have to deal with doing another contract.
Another album would "need" another tour and it would replicate the conditions of the first 24K Gold with her having to do it in a hurry before jumping into another tour with Fleetwood Mac and then the already scarce promotion would fly completely out of the window.

It was a great concert. The tour was a HUGE success. It was such a creeper. When tickets first went on sale many doubted the show would be able to fill arenas. Weeks after the first tickets went on sale half of arenas were still empty. As the concerts neared, the arenas were full. When the tour was extended there were several sold out arenas. She could have extended again and played another 10 shows in the US easily.
Its been awhile since I saw a Stevie solo concert but never saw her so focused on her songs. Yes some of the stories ran on but she is very proud of her songs and especially her new ones. Stevie is famous for missing beats, cues, lines, verses, etc. I never saw her so focused like a true professional before. She never missed a beat.

I agree with this completely. She was on fire this tour. I'm really proud of her right now!

You should be over being upset with her for not wanting to record with Fleetwood Mac by now.I am.The songs released so far on Buck/Vie are either mediocre or awful. It may well be one of the wiser career decisions that she has ever made. The album would rank somewhere between Behind the Mask and Time in the Fleetwood Mac canon had it not been mercifully aborted.

I agree, the three songs I've heard from the album so far have been a disappointment, and 3 stinkers out of 10 is a bad sign. I think Stevie had a feeling about this album, so she stayed out of the way and let FM do their own thing, and it seems she made the right call.
It's really too bad FM can't record together the way the way they used to pre-Tusk.

Pre-tusk? So, you are saying you wish they could record the way they did during "Rumours?" That was 40 years ago.
I doubt any band could record the way they did 40 years ago.
SisterNightroad

Pre-Tusk recording sessions with the current FM formation were basically just those for self titled album which was their first album together and for which they just recorded already pre-existing material (with the exception of World Turning), and then Rumours that, even if it had an amazing outcome creatively speaking, were a mess of biblical proportions.

When I say pre-Tusk, I mean I wish all 5 members would show up at the recording studio on the same day and record an album, instead of doing it piecemeal, with Stevie sending them 4-5 songs and telling them to pick 3, or Christine just working on her songs, or Lindsey playing instruments that others could play, etc.
I guess nowadays, it's too much to ask that the band work together for 4 weeks in the studio, so we get albums like Say You Will, EP, and Buck/Vie. Too bad.

I find it funny that Stevie is so freakin cool everywhere these days and her collab with Lana Del Rey will only solidify this whereas the Lindsey/Christine album is shaping up to be stale and not very memorable. As it's been said, Stevie may have played a blinder here.

Yes, I understood, it's just that this band even when they worked in the studio together didn't really work together in synergy apart from the lone exception of The Chain.

I thought it was ok, but with the exception of a few songs where they sang together, it sounded like 2 albums put together. So if you're not a big Stevie fan, you might not like her stuff, and if you're not a big Lindsey fan, you might not like his stuff.
Go Your Own Way, You Make Loving Fun, the Chain, Say You Love Me, Dreams, Don't Stop, I Don't Want to Know... compared to Come, Running Through the Garden, Murrow, etc, the difference is astounding, based purely on the harmonies (or lack of.)
Glad you liked the album so much.

Very true, but I was referring to the lack of harmonies, not the actual quality of the songs. Their harmonies can make any song better, imo, but for some reason they don't harmonise as much anymore.

tbh maybe their harmonies don't sound as good anymore because all their voices have really lost a loooooot of range. stevie and lindsey especially. and i think christine had some type of autotune going on in feel about you.

Guns N' Roses and Bruce Springsteen among "Billboard" magazine's top money makers of 2016
Katarina Benzova; Danny ClinchGuns N' Roses and Bruce Springsteen were among the musicians who raked in the most dough last year, according to Billboard's newly released list of the Top 50 Money Makers of 2016.
Guns N' Roses landed at #2 on the tally after bringing in $42.3 million, thanks mainly to the hard rockers' Not in This Lifetime Tour, featuring the return of founding members Slash and Duff McKagan.
Springsteen ranked #3 on the list, taking in $42.2 million. He made most of that money from his massive The River Tour 2016 with his E Street Band, from which earned more than $40 million.
Also high on the list was Billy Joel, who was #11 with $23.6 million in earnings, much of that figure from his ongoing monthly residency at New York City's Madison Square Garden.
Other veteran rock and pop acts who brought in the big bucks in 2016 include Paul McCartney, who was #16 in the list with $17.7 million earned; AC/DC at #21 with $15 million earned; Elton John at #32 with $12.1 million; Grateful Dead spinoff group Dead & Company at #33 with $12.1 million; the late David Bowie at #34 with 11.5; The Rolling Stones at #36 with $10.9 million; Def Leppard at #38 with $10.8 million; Journey at #44 with $9.2 million; Jimmy Buffett at #45 with $9.1 million; James Taylor at #48 with $8.3 million; and Stevie Nicks at #49 with $8.2 million.
Interestingly, Bowie, who died in January 2016, earned most of his money posthumously, from catalog sales and songwriting royalties.
Topping Billboard's tally was pop superstar Beyonce with earnings of $62.1 million. Check out the whole list at Billboard.com.

It may be only #49, but earning $8.2 million so far this year isn't too shabby.
I am guessing that is what she earned personally. Her share of the ticket grosses.
