I didn't even ( because i try not to ) Think of that
Please anything upbeat. Nothing depressing like "Landslide" or "Has anyone ever....."

I have a feeling she might sing "Lady." I could be wrong, but I can't imagine she would take the whole band out for this one-off performance, especially since they haven't hit the road yet and are probably enmeshed early rehearsals.

Maybe SDMHA or Edge? I think she's gonna do a tried and true hit, to get everyone who haven't purchased their tickets yet in the mood...so to speak. Smart move to do this TV appearance before the tour.

I reckon she'll do one that nobody's heard or a deep cut. So my guess is Stand Back.

I think the favorite right now has to be stand back as a prince tribute. She's mentioned that in 3 interviews now. Plus it's close to her biggest solo hit and is very upbeat.
IYD not stand back then I'd say something from 24KG.

I imagine this is just the tip of the iceberg...Lot's more publicity to come...
With any luck Stevie will have a big surge in popularity with this tour and more shows will be added...
Once the Stevie solo train gets rolling perhaps she will be inspired to record another album as well...2017 record new solo album then tour for 2 years just like with "IYD"...FM can wait and if they don't like it "Oh Well"

I hope it's a song off of 24 Karat Gold, like maybe The Dealer or Starshine, but it'll probably end up being either a 3 minute version of EOF17, Stand Back, Rhiannon, or Landslide.

Luckily last time she performed she got to do two songs, so maybe she will do a classic and something off 24k!

I agree. She hasn't reconvened her band yet, so I think it's going to either be "Lady" or "Landslide." And since she is still so excited by 24KG and only got to perform "Lady" once, it seems like a very likely candidate.

But I don't think Stand Back is a bad choice given the audience. It's a well-known, universal hit.
Watching America's Got Talent for the first time right now to see this performance.
So far no mention of Stevie...

I'm sure it's what the show wanted and honestly, it might have been best for her in terms of publicity. She NEVER fails to nail "Landslide," and her softer singing voice comes across better on TV. Rockers like "Stand Back" for some reason just don't translate as well. She sang the song that will make America think, "She's still got it."

No doubt she's a national treasure, but she doesn't always have to rest her laurels in her FM catalogue. She could've sang our beloved you tube Wild Heart and promoted something for her new tour. Lazy, lazy, lazy.

Not boring. Not lazy. Smart for TV and the general public who know her for Landslide. That's it.
Of COURSE we'd rather see something different, but most mediocre fans are just fine with Landslide.
I hope she does at least 6 new songs with her tour though.
sorcerer999
09-14-2016, 09:26 PM
I find it interesting that everyone was hoping she'd perform something from 24KG. Has no one paid attention to these interviews from the past week? She's only just now working on a set list. They haven't even started rehearsals yet.
It makes absolute sense she'd do something from her back catalog. And even more sense that she chose "Landslide" because all she needed was Waddy and not the full band, some of which are still on tour with other artists.
Personally, I thought she looked and sounded great. However, I could do without that melody change she does on the final two "I'm getting older too" lines. She's been singing it like that for the past five years now. It just doesn't sound right and kind of takes you out of the song.
Danielle
09-14-2016, 09:27 PM

Yes, just a quick search on twitter will show dozens and dozens of people going "Stevie sang the first note of Landslide and my mom was in tears" and "Stevie sang my favorite song" or "Stevie sang the song I danced to with my father".
So yeah, it's just smart. Not lazy.

I know us Stevie fanatics can't fathom this but the current general public have little if any idea about a deep track, 30 plus year old song called Wild Heart. The number of fans on this site will fill a fraction on the seats for sale. The general public will fill the rest. Hence Landslide:)

She looks great!
That injection site bump thing I still on her face. She looks fantastic but what up with that?
I thought Landslide was appropriate given that this was the finale. It's the ultimate breakup song. Sounds different than we've been hearing it lately without Lindsey on guitar and the background ladies.
Wonder if she was wearing her boots under that long dress. Looked tall enough to be. Looking thin, hair is on point too. Love those rings and necklaces. I wonder how much they've been rehearsing though - might not have been her best solo Landslide ever. Pretty dang good though.

I also hate these shows but it was interesting to see an hour of one. I liked the girl a lot (was she really 15??? she looks so young) but as someone else said, most of the show was about the judges and was pretty awful.
Landslide...well, smart but boring for us (the big fans). And she cut the piano solo and her final line. I HATE when they do that. Seriously, those 20 seconds were going to make it too long???
I don't think this will bode anything for the tour. But I do think that we all open ourselves up for a big disappointment if we think the setlist will be super different. I really hope it is, but I just won't believe it until I hear it.
Also, unrelated to this, but there is no way that she will be doing a show and then doing an unannounced club show the same night. That. Will. Never. Happen.

I agree pattyfan although I am holding out hope for a good set list. That club business does sounds like she got carried away though. I'm reminded of her 2005 interview with Jim Ladd prior to the Vegas shows.
Skip, thanks for the links, you da man.
I'm hoping too, just because she really did mix it up a little for the Enchanted tour. But I hate getting my hopes up and then not having it happen. Anyway, fingers crossed... :)

I don't mean to be downer. I thought she looked great but it makes me a little sad that she is getting old and this may be her last solo tour.
we're ALL getting older boo. I love Stevie, but it needs to be her last solo tour. That performance was great, but she never attempts that type of vocal on tour anymore. I assume she's afraid her voice won't hold up.
I'm not dissing her at all, but if she's not comfortable at least trying to deliver that type of vocal night after night, then it's best to go out on a high note.
OR, do a scaled down, acoustic club tour...
I think she's just SO accustomed to the "big time rock n roll star" trappings, she feels it necessary to maintain that.
We, as her loyal fans, would love an intimate venue tour (maybe 20-25 dates) with just her amazing presence and story telling skills (as she did during the Enchanted tour), doing the songs she's comfortable with. Maybe one date per week.
Those grueling tours just aren't plausible anymore.
I'd love a one -date - per-week , small venue tour.
Let the voice rest, and nail the vocals each time out. She can do it (as she did tonight), but she's locked into that rock n roll "machine" lifestyle.
Time for her to re-assess and live with the reality that she's not 30, not 40 , not even 50 , and barely 60 now.
[and yes, this IS my equivelant of a Ledgie "drunk-dial"]

I find it interesting that everyone was hoping she'd perform something from 24KG. Has no one paid attention to these interviews from the past week? She's only just now working on a set list. They haven't even started rehearsals yet.
It makes absolute sense she'd do something from her back catalog. And even more sense that she chose "Landslide" because all she needed was Waddy and not the full band, some of which are still on tour with other artists.
I agree. I got this in an email re: the 24 k touring band:
Stevie Nicks - Vocals
Waddy Wachtel - Guitar, Musical Director
Ricky Peterson - Organ, Keyboards
Scott Crago - Drums
Al Ortiz - Bass
Darrel Smith - Piano, Keyboards
Carlos Rios - Guitar
Sharon Celani - Background Vocals
Marilyn Martin - Background Vocals

Thanks for posting the link. I fell asleep and did not catch it.
Stevie looks great and has been maintaining her look for many years now. She has the best doctors in the bizz because thankfully she never went for tight face lifts or things that altered the way she looks.
I am tired of Landslide too. It reminds me of a quote she gave to Hit Parader or another magazine in 1983 where she said after the Tusk tour she was so "Landslided" she needed to hang up the song.

I've been a fan all of my life and I still get so excited when she sings Stand Back. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Sorry that you don't care for it, but they are right. The general public DOES love it. It's one of her signature songs and many of us still want to hear it. Also, I don't think it's tacky at all that she's referencing Prince. After all, we have this GREAT song because of him.

Yes, just a quick search on twitter will show dozens and dozens of people going "Stevie sang the first note of Landslide and my mom was in tears" and "Stevie sang my favorite song" or "Stevie sang the song I danced to with my father".
So yeah, it's just smart. Not lazy.
Yes, well you know that the naysayers here are going to try and rip her apart as usual.....yawn..... I don't even know why they bother if they hate her so badly and are so bored by her song choices, attire, hair, ect.......
She was gorgeous, she sounded incredible and I am SO excited for this tour.
I have incredible seats and can't wait to see her!

I really thought Stevie might do something from 24K, but when she came out and did Landslide, I was actually disappointed. She did a nice job, of course, as always on that song. And I loved her smiling a lot while she sang. Very intimate. She looked beautiful, the In Your Dreams gown, the rings and new necklace. I thought she looked fresher in the face also. I wonder if the gowns are going to be on this tour. I also liked that Simon blew her a kiss. She gets the respect. Very nice little interview with her about Grace from Nick and yes, I caught the hug at the end. I hope she makes a few more TV apperances before the tour.

Nick Cannon looked like a complete fool. Really? A turban with a diamond broach?
I am so jealous of all you guys going to see her...

She looks incredible, so beautiful without her stage make-up.
I am a bit excited too as I have just had a present of 1975 version of Buckingham Nicks.!!!! (47th wedding anniversary)

She does look incredible. If she has had work done it is very tasteful and subdued .She still looks like Stevie Nicks as opposed to plastic surgery victims like Dolly and Cher who now look more like insects than women.
Big Brother just got over & I turned it on just in time; I don't normally watch this show. I thought she sounded OK. I don't know if it's her eye make-up or not, but she looked tired to me. I know she normally goes to bed like @ 5 a.m., but maybe she hasn't gotten used to her new schedule yet. But anyway, you know if she feels she needs an outlet (her solo tour), so be it. I wish her well & hope it goes OK for her. Personally I like Gypsy more than Landslide, & that would have been my choice, but that's just me.

The Grace girl annoyed me a little but she did seem so excited when she introduced Stevie. I wonder how much notice they had that she was coming on the show.
Love the photo of Stevie sans makeup. I think her stage look is overdone.

Can We Just Vote Stevie As This Season’s Winner?
As fans and judges of the hit television show America’s Got Talent found out the hard way last night, when you’re actual rock goddess Stevie Nicks, it’s impossible to make a guest appearance on one of television’s hottest shows without stealing the thunder of everyone in the room, which is exactly what happened when the 68-year-old rock legend took the stage and delivered a flawless performance of Fleetwood Mac’s 1975 classic “Landslide”.
Fun Fact: Stevie wrote “Landslide” while she was contemplating going back to school or continuing on professionally with guitarist Lindsey Buckingham.
Introduced by the show’s newest winner, 12-year-old Grace*VanderWaal as*“a true hero of inspiration” before turning the mic over, Stevie was categorically stunning as she stepped in front of her microphone*and*flanked by an acoustic guitar player and a keyboard player let the lyrics to “Landslide” flow effortlessly, rendering the audience and judges at America’s Got Talent completely silent until it came time for the final high note, at which time she saw the entire crowd jump to its feet in furious applause. For those of you lucky enough to snag tickets to Stevie Nicks’ upcoming 24 Karat Gold tour, her performance of “Landslide” is a fantastic glimpse at what you can expect from your favorite rock legend so be sure to check it out in the video below!

"People are still raving about Stevie Nicks’ amazing performance of Landslide on America’s Got Talent last week - a lady, a simple black gown, a microphone, a spare guitar backup and that unmistakable voice. No bells, no whistles, no distractions. The years have gifted Ms. Nicks with an even more evocative, soulful, intimate sound. If you’re a fan, try to find this - it must be on YouTube by now."

Lindsey has done Conan, so I'm not sure how hard you looked. If your point is that Christine and Lindsey don't get booked on talk shows, no one would argue that they do.
The fact that this year a Showtime show had an entire episode revolve around Lindsey is significant. Of course, AHS did a whole season about a character's love of Stevie. There's no question that she is the most popular member of the band.

I would say Stevie is more well-known, not necessarily more popular.
If Lindsey appeared on Conan, I may have missed it because Conan airs on cable. This is not a diss.

if you want to know which shows Lindsey solo goes to promote his gigs, the best way is to ask or search Lindsey forum. (or just google ;) )
in general, Lindsey goes on shows to promote when he has a new solo album out. so the last real round of shows he did was back towards the end of 2011 when SWS came out. He always played songs from the new album. many of those shows were not on cable, such as Fallon. .as we know (and unfortunately for his fans!) since 2012 he's been mostly in solo waiting mode, since FM has been planning to put new music out.
in the last couple of years, he was also on some whole-episode interview shows (some were neat with audience online questions), and of course showtime show Michele refers to. he's been doing some collaborations too, so Trent Reznor invited him to perform NIN's new music he participated in on grammys few years ago, with NIN and QOTSA.

I stumbled across an interview he did with Dan Rather several months ago... think it's a show actually called the Big Interview. It was great- Rather asked a lot of great questions and Lindsey was very forthcoming. Maybe now that I'm on this forum I'll be able to catch other things I've missed.

It's obvious why she doesn't want to be in the studio. She craves the spotlight and attention and anytime in the studio making new creative music takes her away from that.

It was Roadies with Luke Wilson. It has been canceled in the last month or so. Lindsey played himself, an old friend of Luke's who agreed to perform to help Luke out of a jam.
Yes, Lindsey did Conan for Elizabeth Town, Shut Us Down.
Even when Christine was promoting her last album I don't remember her doing any talk shows in the US. Maybe England. I can't remember what she may have done in 1984.
Stevie has done late night, along with Ellen in the daytime and she was on Oprah too.
As for American Horror Story (Coven), all season long one character was a big fan of Stevie's and that plot culminated with Stevie appearing on the show.

While on America's Got Talent, VanderWaal earned praise from Stevie Nicks, who told host Nick Cannon: "she reminds me a lot of me in a lot of ways. She's got it. Whatever happens, Grace is going to the top."
Dubbed "the next Taylor Swift" by Cowell, that same superstar singer even sent VanderWaal a huge bouquet of flowers to wish her congratulations.
Speaking to Billboard, Cowell said all this excitement is only the beginning for the preteen.
