THIS is exciting! Seems like shes tired of the same 30 year old set list too! I would welcome another tour like enchanted. A medley of all her title tracks (minus STREET ANGEL!) would be pure bliss! I cant believe she wants to perform WILD HEART...that is enough reason for me to go to the show!

Wow, I'm intrigued. I was gonna skip this tour because I didn't like the 24 Karat Gold album and because the closest concert will be 4 hours away, but reading that she might do older songs she's never done live before has me reconsidering.

OK all you many non believers on this board. Your gonna have to suck it up and at least pretend to pray because somehow stevie is putting this in gods hands whether they make a new album and not just in her hands where we all no it is
But the stuff about her tour sounds awesome! I've done a complete 180 with my excitement and anticipation for this tour. Alternative set lists, if she follows thru with that would qualify as the last thing I would ever see her do and I would be really proud of her. I also love how she admits to how challenging the wild heart would be for her to do but is still willing to try. Now I have to emphasize that there's a small part of me that remembers stevie is prone to exaggerate her intentions for a tour or concert ala Cesar's palace 05. So alternative set list may end up being a different color shawl on stand back every night

When she said, " you never know, I may change the set list night from night." I said out loud, "Yeah Right!"
But this article definitely made me smile quite a bit. Whether she does come through with some of these things she's mentioning is another story, but it's good to see that she at least as aware of things as far as repetitive set lists go.
Also explains what she's been doing the past 8 months. Poor Sulamith. :(

OMG is this article real??
I am SO excited for this tour! I would love to see her bring all these old songs to life and I hope she follows through with her plans to change the set list and try new things.
I'm going to try my absolute hardest to make it to two tour stops. Since the tour is so short, hopefully she won't stop experimenting after the first couple of shows.
Sad to hear about Sulamith's passing.:distress:
Also, can we talk about this three hour acoustic set she's saving for later? I'm dying of excitement. I'm so happy that she wants to share all this music with us. Fingers crossed we get to see some spontaneity and fresh songs as promised!

I am not taking Stevie at her word because we know she has disappointed us before...that Vegas show comes to mind. So I'm thinking one, perhaps two "surprise songs" and the rest will be the same old same old. I hope I'm wrong. Regardless, I just got tickets for Philly and will most likely be going to NY as well. Because, you know, she said we should go to multiple shows.:laugh: I would have done that anyway!!

Ok, Stevie, now you've got my ATTENTION. This RS article is definitely a GAME CHANGER. Follow through, sweetie. Ironic that the high priestess is considering adding "Wild Heart" to the show. 24 hours before this article came out, I posted my 24KG TOUR DREAM SET LIST in another post. I asked that she OPEN the show with "Wild Heart". Now, it's being considered. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined that.
I'm getting ready to pull out my American Express and lay down $300 in the presale. Here's to gambling that The High Priestess will follow through and include "Bella Donna" and "Wild Heart" in the set list. I know she will! Go for it, Lily!! Hit the stage!

"Whenever I play ‘Stand Back’ from this day forward, Prince will be standing next to me."
“I'm hoping that this will be as much fun for the audience as it's gonna be for me,” Stevie Nicks tells Billboard about her just-announced 24 Karat Gold Tour. The two-month trek -- launching Oct. 25 in Phoenix, with the Pretenders opening -- supports her 2014 effort 24 Karat Gold: Songs From the Vault, which marked her sixth top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album was comprised of tracks Nicks had written and made demo recordings for decades ago but had never been included on any of her previous albums. Then, in 2014, she and producer Dave Stewart headed to Nashville with the demos and recorded entirely new versions of the songs to produce 24 Karat Gold. “I think this [tour] is going to be great,” Nicks says. “I think that all the fans are gonna have a ball. And I hope that they totally just dress up -- as Wendy Williams would say, 'Dress to the nines.' And come to party, and sing.”
Stevie Nicks Announces Joint Tour With the Pretenders
Nicks says the setlist for the tour is still being shaped (it’s “about at 30 songs right now”) but will feature songs from 24 Karat Gold and possibly title cuts from some of her older albums, like “Bella Donna,” “Wild Heart” and “Trouble in Shangri-La.” She wants the show to “have its little explosions of fun” from the various parts of her career. Nicks also gives a hint to fans: “You know what, you might want to come to two shows, because you never know: There might be an alternative [set]list.”
It’s likely that familiar favorites like “Edge of Seventeen” and “Stand Back” will both turn up in the setlist, and for Nicks, “Stand Back” has a new emotional weight. The track was “written to” Prince’s “Little Red Corvette,” and she’s “brokenhearted” that she was never able to have him share the stage with her on the song. “Had I ever in a million years thought that we would lose him,” Nicks says, “I would have made sure that that would have happened. And it didn't. So that's just one of those things in your life where you so say, 'I really missed out.' Because he should have. That should have happened. So whenever I play ‘Stand Back’ from this day forward, Prince will be standing next to me. That is always going to be a joy.”
Nicks, of course, has a second career with the band Fleetwood Mac, which completed its triumphant On With the Show Tour in November 2015. The global run saw the classic Rumours-era lineup of the band -- with a returning Christine McVie -- play 120 shows on three continents. Now that the tour has concluded, might there be a new studio album from the famous quintet?
“You know what, I never know what's going to happen,” Nicks says. “It's like, I didn't -- in my wildest dreams -- ever know that I was going to do the 24 Karat Gold record. And I certainly didn't ever, after 16 years, think that Christine McVie was going to call up and say, 'How would you feel if I came back to the band?' You know, it's like, are you serious? Is this a joke?"
With McVie back in the Fleetwood fold, fans are also holding out hope for a new album from the group. “I learned a long time ago to never say never. Right now, because of the fact that we know that people don't buy records… it's like, hard to sell records. So then you think, 'Well, why do you do records?' Well, the reason you do records is because it's like we're like kids again, and we can do anything we want. We have enough money. We don't really have to work if we don't want to. So we can do records for the reason that we actually did them in the very beginning -- just 'cause it's fun.
"Is it possible that Fleetwood Mac might do another record? I can never tell you yes or no, because I don't know. I honestly don't know. … It's like, do you want to take a chance of going in and setting up in a room for like a year [to record an album] and having a bunch of arguing people? And then not wanting to go on tour because you just spent a year arguing? Or do you just go on tour because you know that you have fun up there and you love doing shows? And Christine's only been back for [laughs] a year and a half.
“So you start to weigh your… 'Why would you do this, why would you do that?' And I honestly don't know. But I never say never… that really is in God's hands.”
Here are some excerpts from our conversation with Nicks:
Nicks recorded the 24 Karat Gold album just two months -- and it was her final album owed to her record label, Warner Bros. Records. But she had to essentially put 24 Karat Gold away and not listen to it for over a year as she was about to head out on the road with Fleetwood Mac:
We finished [24 Karat Gold] in, like, two months -- the whole record. And then, this is kind of what I did: It was like, metaphorically, I bought a gold box, I put the record in the box, I put tissue around it, I wrapped it, I put a red bow on it. I got in the car, we drove past Warner Bros., and I ran in, put it on the front desk and said, "Please give this to the president of Warner Bros.," and I ran back out. Got in the car and went straight to Culver City to be at rehearsals with Fleetwood Mac at 2 o'clock. That was it!
Needless to say, me doing a record wasn't exactly the most favorite topic of conversation at the Fleetwood Mac rehearsal. Christine had just come back in, you know, changed her life, moved to L.A. So that was it. I can honestly say, I never even listened to 24 Karat Gold again until we got home from the tour in January. Because why would I, you know what I mean? Why would I go and make myself feel bad by listening to my really beautiful, fun record of all my great old glory songs? [They] were the sex, rock & roll and drug songs that just almost made every single big record, but for whatever my reasons were, I pulled them. These weren't songs that were kicked off the record by anybody; these were songs that I pulled off records.
So why would I want to sit around and make myself miserable? So I never listened to it once until we got home from the Fleetwood Mac tour. And then I said to my manager, "Well, I'm gonna think about this very carefully." And the fact was… my little life-partner puppy dog that was almost 18 years old was seriously dying. And she died between December and July 5. So I didn't go anywhere, I didn't take any vacations, I didn't really do anything except be with her and kind of deal with that whole situation. But all through that, I was thinking, "You know, if I don't do this now, we'll miss the window that will make it possible." If we go out for 24 Karat Gold right now, we're actually going out with some product -- not that I am going to necessarily sell records, because I don't believe that people buy records, so that's not why I'm going out. I'm going out to promote this record just because I want people to hear what's on it. And I figured the only way I can let them hear what's on it is to actually go out and play some of the stuff that's on it.
Her manager asked if perhaps Nicks would just rather stay home this year after the passing of her beloved pet and spending so much time on the road with Fleetwood Mac:
I don't want to miss the window. If I don't go out until next year, we won't go out until the spring, and then by the time we get out there, it'll be the summer, and by the time I get home, it'll be too late to do the 24 Karat Gold Tour. And it'll just end up being Stevie going out to do another Stevie Nicks tour that has all the exact same songs that every other Stevie Nicks tour for the last 20 years has had. And that's not what I want to do.
Nicks discusses what the 24 Karat Gold Tour set list might include:
This will make you laugh, but it's the truth. When I sat down a couple weeks ago to start figuring out what would be in here, I had decided that I also wanted to do "Wild Heart," maybe do "Bella Donna," maybe do "Trouble in Shangri-La." So I wanted to do some title songs [from Nicks' albums]. I mean, I thought, you know, this is laying open a whole new world for me… So my list is like about at 30 songs right now. And so Waddy [Wachtel, Nicks' guitarist and music director for the tour], he said to me, "Just call me when [the set list is] over." Like, "Stevie, have you cut out any songs yet?" And I said, "Well, maybe two, so I'm working on it."
So what I've done is, I've sent out all 30 songs [Laughs] to everybody in the band, saying, like, "We're not going to do all of these 30, but we have to try some of these." Because sometimes you don't know. You might hear the song that you think is going to be the best ever, and it's not. And then there's the song that you think is going to be totally terrible and it's great. So I said, "You don't have to learn them for real, but just be aware." So that we can spend a few days just playing bits and pieces of everything. So, yes, is [the set list] going to be songs from 24 Karat Gold? Absolutely. But it's also going to be some things from some of the other records also, because I'll never get a chance to do this again. Until I actually do, like, the full-on acoustic set that will actually be three hours, where I can actually start with "Bella Donna" and go all the way up through… until I get to that tour.
So this tour, I want it to have its acoustic parts, I want it to have its little explosions of fun from all different parts. I want it to have the 24 Karat Gold demos, there's two or three songs off In Your Dreams. I'd like to do the "New Orleans" song, I want to do "Soldier's Angel" because that's important to me right now -- just, once again, with the whole political thing that's going on, I think "Soldier's Angel" is an important song to do. So it's like, it's gonna be a lot of cool stuff, and I'll have about two hours and 15 minutes. So, I may -- maybe -- cut a couple songs down a little bit. Maybe I won't do all six verses, you know? … Maybe if I do "Bella Donna," maybe I'll only do half of "Bella Donna." I want to do "Wild Heart," and that has never been done onstage, ever. Because that is a hard song to do. So I'll give it a try, and if I can pull it off, I'll do it.
On how so many of her old demo recordings ended up on the Internet and eventually back to the 24 Karat Gold album, and then to the 24 Karat Gold Tour:
At some point a suitcase of demos was sold, and out went all the demos to all these songs. … They all got sold. I mean, they just got lost. And in those days, we were so free with our music. It was like, "Sure I just wrote a new song." And some of your friends are like, "Can I have a tape of it?" And you're going, "Sure I'll make you a cassette right now." And then of course that cassette goes to their house and then somebody else says, "Gee, that's so great can I have a cassette of that?" And they're like, "Sure!" And nobody was ever selfish with music, one bit. But in the long run, unfortunately, it did release just about everything I'd ever done. Everything, probably, I've never done is out in the cosmos, somewhere.
But the thing is, [the fans] haven't seen it done. They haven't seen it played in concert. So that's what I'm hoping, is that this can be the suitcase of demos that they didn't ever see performed. And that this will be really fun for people. Because they are familiar with these songs. They're familiar with all the songs on 24 Karat Gold. They're familiar with almost every demo I ever made. So this is bringing them to life. And that's what I wanted to do, you know? And I'm hoping that this will be as much fun for the audience as it's gonna be for me, because I'm so tired of doing the same thing over and over and over again. I'm not that kind of person, really. I'm the off-the-top-of-your-head kind of person and always have been. And it's very hard for me to just do the same thing every single night.
Nicks has performed “Edge of Seventeen” and “Stand Back” more than 400 times each in her shows. Are there songs she's tired of performing live?
Because I have two careers -- the great thing is, is that I got three years off from doing "Edge of Seventeen" or "Stand Back," because Fleetwood Mac actually used to do "Stand Back" and took it out [on the last tour]. So I haven't done "Edge of Seventeen" or "Stand Back" in closing in on four years. … All those songs, if they actually were in almost all the sets, then you know I really like those songs. I didn't do them because I had to do them. Because I could always put something else in instead.

So many thoughts after reading this..
If she thinks that nobody buys records (love that she still uses that term) anymore, then it makes absolutely no sense to care if you have "product behind your tour" or not. So I don't know why she feels like she can change up the setlist for this tour but not for other ones.
However, on the Enchanted Box Set tour she really did change up the setlist and I think pretty much every fan agrees that it was awesome. This one is sounding like that, so I think we actually do have something to be hopeful about. So even if her reasoning is misguided, I'm super happy that it will be a new setlist. But Stevie, if you do tour after this, pleeeeeease vary the setlists. If you don't want to sing the same songs, then don't.
Please do not do abbreviated versions of songs. It reeks of schmaltzy Vegas lounge acts. I would be ecstatic if she did Wild Heart, but not just the first verse. Of course, she wouldn't have to do all the outro, but don't cut out verses of songs. I had to go to an Olivia Newton John concert once (don't ask, the bf wanted to go) and she did a medley and it was horrible. That's what shortened versions remind me of.
I will be totally astounded if she has different set lists. It's amazing to me that she actually realizes that some people do this. I have never understood why some artists have such static setlists, especially when she makes comments that show that she knows and is herself more interested in bringing in new songs. Why would you not do that??? She can still keep the big 6 (Dreams, Gold Dust Woman, Rhiannon, Landslide, Edge of 17 and Stand Back) if she is worried about fans not getting what they want. But that leaves nine or ten songs to play with. But Stevie, if you do have different setlists (and cutting the setlist by one or two songs mid tour doesn't count), make sure you alternate at every other show so that fans don't have to travel long distances to actually go to two shows with different songs.
There is no way a 3-hour acoustic show is ever going to happen. The only 3-hour show that will ever happen is if she has Waddy do a 90 minute intro to Edge of 17. :)
I'm really surprised that she is doing such a different setlist (songs not done live before, songs not done for a long time, new 24 Karat Gold songs, songs from In Your Dreams, an acoustic set) on a tour with such a well known headliner. From what I remember her saying, her reasoning has always been that she knows what songs fans come to hear. And on this tour, she will have people in the audience who aren't really her fans. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally behind it. I just hope that she starts to care less about whatever it is that inhibits her from branching out creatively in her live shows and keeps being brave. :)
Also, I have never believed that if you like a band but aren't a huge fan you will not go see them just because you went before and the setlist wasn't exactly what you wanted. I've stopped seeing bands because I didn't like a show because they were bad or I got bored with their music (not going to name names :) ) , but not because of the setlist. Do you all think that is a reasonable fear? It would be something like "Stevie did Dreams, Rhiannon, Edge of 17 and Stand Back but not Stop Draggin My Heart Around so I'm not going to see her next time comes". It doesn't wash with me. And I don't think most casual fans are checking out setlists before they buy a ticket.
I thought it was really revealing what she said about making a Fleetwood Mac CD (a year fighting with people and then another your touring with people that you were fighting with). It would be so cool if they could all just agree that they will do a CD in two or three months (it seems pretty doable considering they have so much of it already laid out). I really really really hope for one more Fleetwood Mac CD with all 5 of them.
Sorry for the excessively long post but I don't have any good friends that are Mac heads so I get it all out here. :)

I completely beg to differ. First of all, New Orleans has not been done except once in New Orleans. Otherwise, it has never been part of the set. Secondly, being one of my favorite songs of the album, I would never take a bathroom break during it. Third, if people actually listened to the lyrics and connected to the sentiment behind it, your brain wouldn't even think in terms of how long is this song because you would be caught up in the meaning and how we relate to the world which is what Stevie does for us.
Let her music do what it's intended to do. Don't listen to her. Listen through her…
So excited for this tour.

I'm excited for this tour because she is! I'm all for doing songs from past albums that she knows true fans will love! It's for the love of the music, and that's what means the most to me! I'm still praying for a last Fleetwood Mac cd in a few years though :)

This was a great article, and it's nice to see Stevie excited about hitting the road in support of songs that she clearly cares about and wants people to hear.
It's encouraging to know that she's at least thinking about changing the setlist and that she wants this tour to be different and special. She hedges a bit by saying that they'll have to see how things sound before committing to anything, but I really hope she delivers on her promises. I remember when she was talking about the Vegas shows she said she had every intention of doing "The Highwayman." Well, that didn't happen, and it's a song I think she could actually do really well with her current voice. We'll see what, if anything, she pulls out of her hat this time around.
All I know is that I'll be buying tickets for Boston and Connecticut on Monday..... :-)

I guess we'll have to wait until the first night of the show when someone reports the set list on this forum. Yeah, I remember when she did Jim Ladd's show in 2005 promoting the upcoming Vegas shows. She said she was excited that "all the old costumes were coming out" and she was going to have ballet dancers in the background and that she was rehearsing tracks like "Talk To Me", "Rooms On Fire" and "The Highwayman". Jim even suggested she bring back "Sisters" and she said that was a great idea. When we flew out to Vegas to see the show, we had a great time but I couldn't help but feel a little let down. It was basically your typical Stevie concert, just on a bigger stage. To her credit, the FX department made some nice background visuals projected on the screens...and she did pull out "How Still My Love", "If Anyone Falls" and "BATB" for the first time in a very long time...but that was about it.
I've already purchased tickets so I'm definitely going. But it just very well might be my last show if we discover it's the same old set with two or three 24K songs. I really hope she keeps her word and not only includes a lot of 24K and IYD songs, but also revisits some deep cuts from her back catalog. I'm hopeful, but not getting my hopes up, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

I understand how important both songs are. That's not what I'm arguing. I'm arguing that they aren't my favorite from the record live. Everyone has their likes and dislikes, this is just my personal opinion.

Fa sho. Personally, I could do with a break from politics this year so my opinion is that I'd rather she didn't do them. I like New Orleans though.

Here's the podcast (http://crystallineknowledge.tumblr.com/post/152024209107/billboard-podcast-we-spoke-to-the-legendary) with the full interview. She sounds so happy. ♥

There are a few things she says in this Podcast that are telling. I was amazed when, after her dog died, she "decided" she didn't want to "stay home this year", so she decided to tour.
Stay home this YEAR!??
Interesting that she thinks about things in those terms. Most people have a sad event happen and get depressed about it and decide to stay home and work out their grief for maybe a week. A couple of weeks at the most. Some people are lucky and get a bereavement period for a month.
Stevie, being a celebrity for decades and decades, has the luxury of deciding to stay home for a YEAR.
P.S. I'm also willing to bet that this was her "excuse" to the band for not recording music with them these past 10 months.

We are now less than a week away from knowing. Excited yet nervous! I don't buy this whole "changing up the set list night by night" mumbo jumbo. Stevie will plan out her set list with 16 songs, sing them all straight through night after night for four or five shows, then drop one or two "new songs" and replace them with "Landslide" and "Enchanted" for the remainder of the tour.
Nothing ever changes. No it doesn't. :D

Ha! Her dog would've received about the same amount of grieving time as her mom
Glad that she has Lily to distract her now. ;)

I feel people are really over using that comparison, myself included. When I really think about it, she's made way bigger and specific promises about this tour then that show. Everything she said about the cesars show was very vague. It was going to be very "different" she was gonna wear different clothes (I think there was a slightly altered shawl or something ) She was not gonna give up on TISL because it never got enough of a chance initially due to her being sick and 9/11 (BS I know but she followed thru there with Sorcerer and Fall From Grace) How Still My Love, If Anyone Falls and Beauty and the Beast were all "kind of" her making good on playing different songs. She never named specific songs she wanted to bring back except maybe Highwayman and i for one dont care if she ever plays that one (if she didn't on the two voices tour then it aint ever gonna happen) She said she was gonna utilize the big stage and large screens (She absolutely followed thru here. This was the first time we got the now very staple use of the screens behind stevie showing either video montages or just kaleidoscope type colors)
So if anything I think she has more enthusiasm now and we shouldn't use the 2005 CEsars as a reason to "expect" her to disappoint us. She has the "potential" to let us down even more due to much more specific promises.
Another angle that I'm thinking is this tour is taking the place of something else that everyone really wants (her to be recording with Fleetwood Mac) where as in 2005 she was doing shows that were taking the place of nothing. So she needs to truly deliver making this a special tour or a lot of us including me will be pissed.

Plus in 2005 she didn't have any new material since her previous tour. This time out, she's got her 24K Gold songs. And she was very ambitious on her IYD tour, performing a number of songs from that album.
I will admit I am wondering just how many songs we will hear from 24KG, but only because she wants to do all those title tracks and keeps mentioning a handful of IYD songs. Add in the must-play hits, and it seems like there may only be room for 2 or 3 songs from 24KG.
