I won tickets for the Dance tour from KFOG (a SF radio station). They were 5th row center in a big amphitheater. They were awesome seats. :) But you are right. Sometimes they give away seats that a true fan wouldn't be very happy with. It just depends.

If you haven’t thought about Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde in a while, now would be a good time to get reacquainted. The 62-year-old rock goddess issued a critically-acclaimed solo album earlier this summer, and now she has announced a 25-date theater tour in support of the record.

The trek begins on October 30 in Toronto. Noteworthy venues on the six-week tour include the Chicago Theatre, New York’s Beacon Theater, and the Masonic in San Francisco. Hynde’s final scheduled date is December 6 at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles. Fans can register now for a ticket presale. During the upcoming tour, Hynde has promised to perform tracks from the new record, as well as classic Pretenders material.

In June, Hynde released Stockholm, the first solo album of her nearly 40-year career. The record received solid reviews and debuted at No. 36 on Billboard. Guests performers on Stockholm range from Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Neil Young to former tennis player John McEnroe, who contributes electric guitar.

Hynde has promoted the album with appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “The Colbert Report.” On “Colbert,” she engaged in witty banter with the host, who jokingly asked her why she had “rejected Lady Liberty” to live in England. “I’ve got my band there, and I go where the music is,” she replied, smiling. “Sort of ‘have band, will travel.’ I’m a citizen of the world. I’m a hippie, man.”

Stockholm features the lead single “Dark Sunglasses,” a polished bundle of rock energy. The track is accented by clattering percussion, a trademark of the song’s co-writer, Bjorn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John.

If she's likely release a new album soon, why would she name the tour 'The 24Karat Gold Tour'? Surely if there was a new vault album (or an album of new material) it wouldn't be given the 24Karat Gold moniker. Wouldn't it make more sense for it to be 'From the Vault Tour' especially if there's a second vault album.

Also, though I could see a joint tour with The Pretenders, aren't they a bit big to be a 'special guest' slot? ... I don't know, maybe not.

I don't think there is a newer album forthcoming otherwise why would she be calling the tour 24KG instead of whatever the new album of vault songs is called. At any rate it will be great to see her tour the album finally .I'd much rather go see her play songs that she has never performed live from a 2 year old album than to go see Fleetwood Mac tour behind a 40 year old album ..again.:nod:

Let's hope that "the happening" producer is not Paul Worley, the guy behind Lady Antebellum and Charles Kelley's solo album. He's based in Nashville and Stevie knows that's where to go if you want an album knocked out in a matter of weeks. Jesus I hope I'm wrong about this. If it's true that Dave Stewart is not involved, I will be most disappointed.
With regard to the proposed tour being entitled '24 Karat Gold Tour', I do recall Stevie said whilst promoting the album in 2014 that she might repackage the album at a later date with a second disc of half a dozen 'vault songs'. It could well be the case that she has recorded an EP of tracks that will be tacked onto the existing album, hence the tour promoting the whole package.
I'd actually love it if she took the time to remix/refine the original 24KG album with some better vocal takes here and there and also fix the tempo on certain tracks (some are too fast whilst others are way too slow). However, I know she would not spend the time or money on doing this.

My guess is regular tickets in the good sections will be $125-$170 plus fees. Just a guess based on other artists of her calibre and what their prices have been Henley was charrging $195 on his current tour.

I am surprised at the big venues mainly because The Pretenders have not done much in a long time and Stevie has toured allot lately. I was expecting theatres and or venues in the 5,000 to 10,000 range. I wonder if they will sell the whole arean?

if Heart is getting $500 , and Dolly Parton is getting $1975.oo I would guess more than their worth

but both come with meet and greets and all kinds of merchandise plaques tees posters etc , and she is offering a piece of merchandise ...and the Mohegan sun giveaway was valued at $60 Maybe they won't be outrageous hopefully they will get posted today it would be great if the people who supported her for decades were able to get a good seat at a fair price
