Sheryl Crow is recording a new album. Willie Nelson, Keith Richards, Stevie Nicks and I think Neil Young, among others are on it. In an interview, Sheryl calls Stevie a dear friend and says she idolizes her.

SIGH !!! :distress: Why, Dolores, WHY ?!?!?

As the rest of the MAC wait in vain to record what could be a career ending album, Stevie's off laying down background vocals on a Sheryl Crow project.

Alas, I must put my own selfish needs aside. I suppose the High Priestess has a right to engage in whatever little hobbies that she wants at nearly 70 years old. She's paid her dues. Have fun, Lily.

I actually think this could turn into a promising development. After all, Stevie would most likely only record backing vocals for one or two songs. She could knock that out in a number of days. More importantly, spending time in the studio might just reignite her creativity and desire to record. While I can honestly say I'd never want another solo album from her again, I still hold on to that most slim of hopes that she will relent and get on board with a final Mac album. Who knows, maybe recording with Sheryl will be the catalyst for just that. This could come in the form of inspiration, encouragement, or even clicking with the right producer while in Sheryl's orbit. For all we know, it may not be an aversion to Lindsey or a lack of new material keeping her away from FM; maybe the right producer for at least her songs (if not the entire band) has not been found or secured. We are working with very limited information after all.

She had great admiration for Jesse Camp.
The resulting album was a classic.

While I, to this day, scratch my head at how that pairing came about, "My Little Savior" remains one of my favorite collaborations she's done. I think it's such a cute song, and her harmonies are really, really nice.

I don't know what she was thinking either.

Unless she thought the "MTV" thing would help her.

This article makes it sound like she's working on 2 new CDs, which sounds odd. You'd think that the writer would be able to at least make that clear.

By "she", I meant Sheryl Crow. But I like your idea a whole lot better :)

I think these projects will happen eventually. I always thought working on new solo material was her or maybe her management's way of increasing her chances of getting inducted into the RRHOF as a solo artist. Bella Donna would obviously be the landmark recording they would build her induction story around, but then they could add she's amassed this vast solo catalog, while working with Fleetwood Mac. I can see her getting inducted in 2021 when Bella Donna turns 40 and she had a chance to release maybe 2 more albums, bringing the grand total to 10 solo releases.
