It's Don Kirshner, he was a producer and promoter and such.. he had a show on tv Don Kirshner's Rock Concert (kinda like the Midnight Special) where bands would come on and perform.

I like that this has audio, because I've seen the video a gazillion times but never knew what they were saying.

That's a good question. My guess would be 1986. The band was on tour without Lindsey during Halloween 1987. Nicks had finished her RAL tour early in October in Australia. She was in the studio with the Mac before going to Betty Ford. I would say its a very rare photo from the band in 1986. Stevie's hair is pre-rehab. Didn't Stevie do her Seven Wonders vocal in October or November 1986 before going to rehab?

Apparently Stevie doesn't remember this second encounter with the band either, or he doesn't remember being with Fleetwood Mac on that one occasion. We know Stevie was a bat **** crazy cocaine addict but Kim must of been as well. They got married almost peak addiction. There used to be an old Stevie interview on youtube that got pulled. Remember the guy she said tricked her during her peak klonopin addiction and wrote horrible things about her. The interview was on youtube over 20 years ago. Stevie got scared of Kim. He was extremely protective as a father and would not let Stevie around the baby. A few times Stevie said Kim called her Robin and her only escape was going on the Wild Heart tour. It was so freaking creepy. But just imagine the day you get married Stevie tells you to pull over because Prince came on the radio and she needed to write a song. I always wondered that he had to be as crazy as her back then.

Well, I agree the picture is digitally modified (AI or any sw), but it's their 1997 look. They probably still enjoyed a drink from time to time, but in general they were already sober by that year.

Chris says there are no words to describe how they feel. But then she wanders off describing how they feel in 3 words :lol: Mick is in another world. He is like a zombie and never says a word. At the very end he walks away and the video stops but you can see he was about to stagger. John has no words but Chris is having fun talking :lol:

well, yes they were obviously separated but legally, they were still indeed married and chris may actually still be wearing her ring on her left hand in that clip..hard to see clearly but i do think it's there. which is quite passive aggressive haha. she wore it until practically the last minute-- many shots from that time, she's got it on her left hand. It's by far the most popular show on the cruise(they only do it one night, and usually two consecutive shows, since it sells out the 600 person theater). I'll be guzzling cabernet like Christine in her heyday!, singing along at the top of my lungs!

At that moment I didn't know the complete track list of the album, I was only 11 and I don't think I identified the album cover, but I read the name Rumours in the record, so I knew which album was this single from, both songs.

I love the studio version too. The Dance version gave us a beatiful moment cause she sang it with so much feeling, and those famous looks between the two of them generated so many fantasies in the audience (it was 1997, a very different time than 2018, so who can blame them?).

But the studio version is beautiful too. So when they included the 6:08 version in the 2004 Rumours Expanded CD 2, and the 5:32 early take in the 2013 Rumours More From The Recording Sessions [Disc 3], I was more than happy.

To be fair, I HATED The Dance Version at first. But, when I put the angst and emotion of her voice to the lyrics, and the band's performance, I see why it's so adored. It's sort of spot on. Her nasal voice works for her, in this case.

I would still say Sister's of the Moon (Mirage Tour HBO video) is the most intense and vibrant performance she's ever done. Blows away the Tusk Studio track. Even blows away the Tusk Live versions. Just my subjective opinion. As Christine once said, "Others may disagree!"

Just my perception, but I think at The Dance special, her voice sounded its least nasal in years. And it never sounded as good again as it did that night (or two, which I understand were the recordings). I can't say if it was due to tricks during the mastering process or if the voice therapy she said she underwent actually worked. But in general, if I avoid to compare it with the Stevie of the 70s, I love how she sounded in The Dance.

Although I admit that The Dance's Dreams isn't one of my favorites. With her voice back then, and her current one, it's hard to make it sound good compared to the original. But yes it is an unfair comparision. You can't fight time. The Stevie's voice of the 70s and early 80s could never return.

After spending six months tracking and recording Rumours at the Record Plant in Sausalito, we continued our journey at Sound City and Record Plant in LA. From left to right in the picture, you can see me, Ken Caillat, alongside my second engineer, Cris Morris, followed by Lindsey Buckingham and co-producer, Richard Dashut, who always kept the energy flowing.

I don't recall ever reading about Chris Morris. He does appear in the credits for Rumours, but not for Tusk. It would be interesting to know if he has shared any memories of those days.

You guys are crazy. Can you imagine the amount of photos that have been taken of Lindsey. To focus on one photo and say "that's the man" is sort of crazy especially since most photos were taken during the wildest fashion era of the late 1970s. I see Lindsey the opposite of some of you. He could have ridden the fashion trends of the late 70s with loud clown like bell bottoms or dressed like the Commodores. He wore suits or other conservative outfits. He was a good looking man. That does not make him feminine or gay. Not that funny. Its as ridiculous as the people that claimed Chris was transgendered because of some photos that were not flattering. I’ve seen several photos where Stevie and John are sharing kind gestures with each other. Even in later years. In the OWTS tour poster she has her hand on her shoulder. In The Dance The Chain after the …never break the chain at ~2:00 she does the No sign with her finger, smiling, I can’t be sure but it seems she is looking at John.

And of course there are also pictures like that from the crazy 70s. And stories. Mick even mentioned one of those crazy things they used to do, like the time when Robin brought her brownies to the (Sausalito) studio.

Be careful, she said, these things are really strong. But the band ignored the advertised potency and gobbled freely. We spent the night in such a bent condition that not a note was played and the engineers went home. John and Stevie spent hours huddled in a corner, giggling like mad over a copy of Playboy.

I think they were just playing. they were kinda drunk and bored to tears and just fooling around. But there's a spot in that photo shoot where she was trying to pull down the zipper of his sweatjacket and he took her hand and sort of flung it off, looking disgusted. another spot where she kept running off and chris grabbed her and was telling her prob to look at the f*cking camera, stay in the shot etc, and john was reaching his hands in front of mick like he was going to strangle stevie. he was not amused lol.

chris was hanging all over lindsey for part of the photo shoot , too... i think they all were just touchy feely familiar w each other in those shoots. also didn't the photographer make a comment about how when the band members started touching each other, the shots would get incredible? how there was an energy to it? i can't recall the exact words but maybe he was even *telling* them to touch each other.

I am intrigued by this Bob Brunning story about the 1977 People magazine cover. If Lindsey ended up with "panda eyes," that means he got those wide dark circles under his eyes, didn’t he? I don't see that at all in the photo (I guess Bob meant this cover). Ok, if so it’s highly obvious that he had makeup done at the photo shoot; so, how did Bob know the story? Did Lindsey tell it in an interview? Or did Bob maintain close contact with the band during those hectic busy days, close enough to know these stories? That seems hard to believe.

Things didn’t go entirely smoothly however. The first fifteen dates of the 1977 tour had to be cancelled due to Stevie Nicks’ throat problems. Additionally, Lindsey needed to have his wisdom teeth extracted, leaving him with two beautiful black eyes. Just in time for the band’s photo session for the cover of People magazine.
“Panda” imitations apart, Lindsey and the rest of the band waited until Stevie was quite well, and they started their marathon tour.
