Little PhotoShop Of Stevie [Archive]

Way back in the olden days of the Ledge t'was started The Stevie Of Death. A fun thread where we photoshoped Stevie and friends into horrible historic situations.

That lasted a good long wile but ran out of steam.

Not a surprise as the subject matter was limited.

We started drifting into other areas of shopping but that was left behind.

Now I think it is time to revisit this idea but open it up beyond just the one genre.

Here at the "Little PhotoShop Of Stevie" I invite any and all to participate and show off their photo manipulation skills and their sense of humor.

All categories are welcome. All styles accepted.

BUT! I think that there should be one rule we must agree on. No Porn images. That is anything that is deemed N.S.F.W. No hard core sex acts.

Asides from that everything is open season. "Stevie Of Death" "Artsy" "Political" and especially "Funny" is welcome.

So to start this off I enter the first pic of the season.

OK decided to start back at scratch and take my time with this.

I really didn't like the way the ear was exposedand the way the art was a little too cartoon-y.

So I changed it to a lower face art and added better art to the head.

Yep I agree. Also doing rhinestones on a face in shop is a BIG pain in the ass. It's difficult to get the right look or shine from the stones. :thumbsup:

I have found it a pain trying to match faces with painting textures.

I have to ask, who is it? Not Marie Antoinette, is it? :sorry:

Why yes it is Marie Antoinette! And I totally agree. This one gave me a fit because I used one of Stevie's faces from her 24kg polaroids, so it was incredibly orange.

What I did, was extract the colors from the original painting's skin, and then literally paint it on the face, blending in darker and lighter colors using the smudge tool. :)

Thank you. I think for photoshop it's a generous use of the eraser tool that I lean on a lot.

Gimp is a good program and I think most of this can be done without too many problems.

I'm not overly familiar with it though I have used it for some cartography work.

I find Gimp has better noise and cloud fill options and can make much better random coastal areas.

I use tinypic (http://tinypic.com/) to upload the photo itself... Let it load, and then on the left of the screen, it will give you different sizing options. Choose the "messageboard" option (or whichever), and copy the link.

Then, when posting here, click on the little yellow picture at the top of the post... It will then give you a pop-up, and all you have to do is paste your link into that little box, and Bob's your uncle!

I use Imgur. Most photo hosting sights allow you to to link the images. Look for the BBcode of the pic you want. This will appear as address . Copy this and paste it in the Reply to thread area. This should link the image directly.

There a great iPhone app called Dreamscope that lets you turn photos into portraits using a number of filters inspired by famous artists and works of art. I wanted to do something with water since Stevie uses it as a metaphor in a lot of her songs.

I laughed so hard at this because I remembered in the Enchanted tour book there's a magazine clipping with Stevie talking about turning 50 and there's a great quote that said something like "It used to be sex, drugs and rock n roll and now it's, like, Centrum Silver. Hi all. I was doing some thinking about This and, to be honest, I'm a little flummoxed.:shocked:

I have never done a birthday or any kind of card or message and I'm really not sure how to proceed. :shrug:

So what I'm going to do is throw this open to all of you. ;)

Toss some ideas at me. Image ideas, images you have seen that you think will make a good shop, birthday messages (pithy sayings etc.), something to jump start the process. Serious, funny anything.

I'll consider them and see what I can do.

Just remember I'm not a Photoshop expert, I just play one on the internet.:D
