I'm glad we have Fleetwood Mac LIVE, but I wouldn't trade the Stevie Nicks OR Lindsey Buckingham solo outtings we have had for anything. They both exude happiness when they are free to do whatever they want. For Stevie, this is the other side of the mirror. Keep on rocking.

"You feel good" *thumbs up*
Silly Stevie :p
Downright powerful EO17... Just wow.

The great thing is that we don't have to trade. I'm grateful we have all of the solo work. Stevie and Lindsey have been the most prolific solo artists, yet Mick and Christine have had some significant "outings" Even John had an album! All of the solo work filled in the long gaps of time when the five fireflies were dormant and not as prolific as I wish they would have been.
In the span of 42 years (1975-2015 ) they only made five studio albums together. A sobering thought. All the more reason for them to add one more album to their legacy. I hope that Stevie recognizes that significance. Her solo career will go on. But Fleetwood Mac's days are numbered.
In the sixties, expectations were very different, and it was necessary to crank out an album every six months to maintain market relevancy. The Mamas & Papas cranked out four fantastic albums in the span of three years before they imploded, with remarkably similar social circumstances that preceded Fleetwood Mac.
Two years after they parted ways they had to regroup and record a fifth album to fulfill their record contract and avoid a million dollar fine. Although the style and chemistry had changed, it provided an indication of how their sound would have evolved into the seventies if they had stayed together.
I hope we get that sort of opportunity of closure with Fleetwood Mac .

I don't see anything unusual about these clips. This is the Stevie that was on the HBO white winged dove concert, the wild heart tour, and rock a little tour. I actually think she looks and sounds good here. Her catty talk was peak during the Wild Heart Tour. When she talks about Girl Scout Cookies before Stand back shows her mouth is ahead of her head. Her Rhiannon at this show is odd. Her voice is so raw and rough compared to the other songs. I saw this show 29 days later and she was not this animated but she still talked off the cuff.
The best parts of the US Festival is when Stevie gets caught up in the crowd and misses her cue during Stand back and her windshield wiping the audience during How Still My Love .
Its sad because off these antics came to a screeching halt during her 1989 tour because of Klonopin.

I love her US fest footage. She was acting normal on this show and having fun doing so. As I thought.
I wish they release this show in its entirety on DVD.

Contrary to belief, the US FESTTIVAL date was not the first stop on "The Wild Heart" Tour. I saw Stevie Nicks in concert 3 nights before the US FEST on May 27, 1983 at The Aladdin Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a packed house, and I guess it served as a warm up date for The US FESTIVAL. The concert was on my 13th birthday and the tickets were a gift from my cousin. Needless to say, the high priestess was in rare form that night too. A bodyguard got a little pushy with fans in the front row, and Stevie said to the crowd, "If anyone here tries to mess with you, you tell them to **** off". Stevie was running all over that stage too.
That night, I bought my vintage gray "Don't Blame It On Me, Blame It On My Wild Heart" tour t-shirt. What a night it was !!

That sounds similar to another show, where she was angry at the security guards. After she finished the song, she berated the guards, saying "Don't f*ck with my people!" Could that be the same show?

I envy you or anyone else that got to see her
on the Wild Heart Tour.
In my opinion, sometimes I think we blame Klonopin
too much. It's used by Stevie and us as an excuse for her
less than stellar performances.
I wonder what a clean Stevie would have performed
like back in her prime.

Pardon the pun but it definitely was a "wild" time. It was my first concert at age 13. I was so excited and nervous if that makes any sense. Even it being my first concert at age 13 I could sense Joe and Stevie were in another world with sometimes sloppy performances but then great performances. It definitely was a moment in time that I am thankful to be able to see and experience.
I LOVE reading reviews from fans of the Wild Heart Tour. Each city had something crazy and memorable. Stevie could get away with lots of crazy behavior then because she was so hot and beautiful. My local paper wrote a review of the show and said she relied on her sex appeal too much and only had to phone in the show. He also described the concert as a "Whatever happened to Stevie game show" since she left the stage so much and her band looked confused.
I eat up every Wild Heart review or snippet I can get.

Wrong, Olive. At the Colt Park show Stevie threw a pineapple(stage prop) at an audience member. The "Don't F with my people" was from Lake Compounce in Ct. I was at that show. And I remember it.

I saw 3 WH concerts. The best of the 3 was the 2nd night at Radio City Music Hall with Tom Petty as a surprise guest. The love in that venue for SN from all of us was LOUD and awesome.

I agree in many ways. She got a lot of meh reviews for FM shows back in the Rumours days because she was indeed off key or lackluster or otherwise out of it. I love her to bits but the thing that just pisses me off about her is how she just pissed away her gift and at times took it for granted. She was more focused on partying than in being professional and taking care of her voice as well as giving a great show. Yes, ok, she really didn't know the proper way to sing and did real damage to her voice, but she often was too focused on having her own good time than on giving the best show. I'm sure in her altered state she thought she *was* giving good performances, but....
She described earlier in her career that being in FM was like being in the army, you have to be there no matter what....(ok stevie's version of the army) and she often in the early days used drugs to stay awake/engaged/etc because of the intense schedule. But it impacted often her performances.

What? I was not making any relation to that. Have you responded to the wrong person? I simply was posting what some were talking about. The infamous 1989 show where this was recorded.
Not sure how or why you think me posting this has any relation to the pineapple incident. It was others that confused the incidents. Not me

I don't understand your hostility Olive. This is the last time I will respond to you. You are not making any sense and first accused others of calling you a liar....that never happened either. Then you are attacking me. I have not commented on anything you have written on this thread.
I never claimed to be at any CT show and I never wrote anything about anything you have written on this thread. I have no idea what other members were at any show. You are trying to drag me into a dispute you have with other members. Its not going to work. Sorry.

I never called you a liar. I corrected your information. I'm older and my memory isn't always too clear on the names of the cities or venues or of which tour events happened but here it goes: The pineapple incident happened in Rhode Island. The Don't F with my People incident happened in Connecticut.

In those days every concert was different. I was at Colt State Park...."the Wind" . Mirage, with Tom Petty, ....it was always different and you never knew when you'd see Stevie "go for it". Much more calculated now and WAY less high notes.....saw her reinvigorated by Sheryl Crow but have actually skipped some year coz lately coz every note for every concert was the same.

Gotta say young uns, you missed out to not see Miss Nicks in the 80's and early 90's. Those of us of a "certain age" living in rural areas couldn't see Fleetwood Mac in the 70's.., tickets were like Led Zep or Taylor Swift... Just not happening. Finally I got to see Stevie for the first time at Boston Garden 1981 w Tom Petty. WBCN said she might show up and she did w really long hair and the maroon mini skirt from the Bob Welsh "gold dust woman" gig....she was so happy and like I said, every concert after that you did not know what you'd get. I saw Stevie uninspired, looped up, awesome one liners, crying, high notes, low notes, and times-"you'll -remember-on-your-deathbed-that-awesome". And in the new stuff there have been moments; but not like the old days. And I don't think they should be expected to perform in their 60's like their youth...look at Sinatra and Tony Bennett...some of their best stuff was when they were older...I think Stevie should take a chance....she can't do the high Rhiannon stuff and doesn't want to do the drug-–addled improv.....what can she do now with all that experience? saw some inspiration on 24 and songs like Moonlight but her vocal coach might be holding her back. Am thankful for the memories and tapes. Stevie back then was incredible!
