Nice! She's starting to sing it pretty much the way she would perform it on the "Bella Donna" tour. You can hear the evolution.

Interesting to hear that Christine jumps the gun and hits a sour note after the "I think I had met my match" part. Oops.

Such an amazing performance. The LIVE album would have been so much better if better choices were made. There would have been little need for post-production work.
Can't wait to hear the rest of the live songs!

You should be able to play it on the Rolling Stone link, half way down the page. It's a US site.

I've never heard anything as beautiful and torn like this.

The extended ending was just incredible, as the intensity went up a notch, and Christine was playing piano lines I've never heard before.

I went to my local record store and got assurance that they would hold the super deluxe version of Tusk for me when it comes in. It's pricey but irresistible; I cannot not have this!

How lovely.I love this version.I wonder if it will get radio airplay on the classic rock stations. The song is American Pie 8 plus minutes. The jock could take a call,Hit the restroom,Go out and take a puff or head to the caf or kitchen for some coffee and a snack.

Thanks MoonSister75 .My issues with finding the player was my browser.Fire Fox .Works great with Google Chrome.

Can some elaborate on the post-production work for "Fleetwood Mac Live" (1980)? Since the songs on that record sound so polished, did the Mac go back into the studio to record additional parts? Also, did Chris, Stevie and Lindsey record NEW VOCALS IN THE STUDIO for the 1980 live album (like the background vocals on "Sara")??

Yes to everything.
The vocals were re-recorded and new backing vocals were added.

all 'live " albums have been fixed in the studio i think Areosmith's live bootleg may have only been slightly tweeked but left with a raw recorded feel

There's a bootleg floating around of Sara from the Tusk tour in St. Louis. The initial recording for the Live album was done this night but then taken into the studio and Stevie's vocals redone. The bootleg is very raw with no effects on her voice but it's an amazing performance. And if it sounds a bit familiar it's the one that was also filmed for the Tusk documentary and presented in an edited form.

The thing I love about comparing the video and the bootleg audio is that at one point she saunters over to Lindsey's mic and sings "All I ever wanted was to know......" but you can only hear it as a ghostly echo because the mic wasn't on for the audience it was only going through the stage monitors and the echo of that is what the cameras caught. But in the bootleg you can hear it clearly.

Betcha never thought the infamous video and the live album version were the same performance, huh?

No I knew it, in fact I specified it both in my bootlegs thread and in the old thread about the original songs of the live album.
Unfortunately not many were convinced by this fact so thanks for your agreeing opinion.
Also thanks for pointing out about the ending, it was the main point that didn't convince people they weren't the same version, now I understand why. I thought it was just a fading effect added for the documentary.

"Drowned in..."

"in the sea of love"

Because of her pacing and phrasing (saying the word "in" twice), Stevie sounds like she is saying drownding or drownded.

Just a reminder that Sara should always be played live with a piano.
No keyboards or electric pianos.
Great version but I still prefer the Live album version.

No, it was a big thing in the 60's and 70's to drop the "g" off of words ending in "ing", so when she says "drowning" she's pronouncing it at "drowning", however she tends to say drowning wrong. She says it with a "d" after the "w", which is actually a huge misconception. People say "drownding" quote often but it is actually incorrect.

Stevie has trouble pronouncing certain words. "Drowning" is one of them and "mirror" is another.
