I think that whatever happened with Richard, a few months ago(didn't he go meet them at a show, right before he stopped all his FB posts?) has soured him, for the most part.

Even though it was 2007, The Eagles last album sold 7 Million. I'll bet they're afraid that it might stiff(in this non-CD buying day and age), and it would be an embarrassment to them. I hope I'm wrong.

Yes, that is a remarkable achievement but Long Road Out of Eden was a double album and so it needed to sell 3.5 million copies to achieve the 7xPlatinum award. That's still incredible I think because in 2007 sales still weren't great.

However, if the Mac released an album next year, it would have to be #1 for a very long time if it had any chance of selling anywhere near that. Anyway, it doesn't because nobody actually buys albums anymore. Ah well.

If Tedder made Stevie feel good in the studio, then that would be "production" right there. I don't think Lindsey would care too much about whether Tedder enhanced his songs, as long as he got his share of space on the album, he'd be content to have his songs left alone by the outside producer.

A: Richard is a very sensitive guy. I think that when the Life Magazine FM issue came out recently and almost completely left him and all his valuable contributions to the bands albums for nearly 10 years, he just threw in the towel, not realizing that the author of the article was the one to blame, not anyone else.

The thing is, it's great to have Ken, Billy and anyone else answer questions on Tumblr. In fact, Gary Hodges' answers were welcome as well. If they're willing to talk to fans on Facebook or through an Q & A interface that's great and fans want the information, especially since they're giving us new insights. But "Welcome Chris" was not being straightforward.

Since something happened that might have offended Bekka (who is someone who has NOT done a Q & A with the Ledge and would be a great get), I sure wouldn't want her to think it was me or anyone else who runs the site who texted her and said whatever it was she didn't like.

I mean, give me the chance to offend Bekka on my own, because I'm very capable of putting my foot in my own mouth. I don't need Joe putting his feet in it and offending people under the auspices of The Ledge. Michele

In this case, people are sending questions... somewhere (I've never been clear)....but the questions are filtered by a third party (Joe/Welcome Chris it seems) and then passed along via email to Ken or Gary or whomever. Then their answers are emailed back to this third party and posted to the tumblr. Seemed like way too many obstacles between the questioner and the questionee. And if questions are mediated by the third party/welcome chris, and this person knew references to The Ledge were disallowed, seems like they could have removed those and frankly it wouldn't have changed the question or comment from the readers at all. It just felt like a roundabout way of making it seem affiliated with this site indirectly-- blame it on some anonymous questioner. A shame, really, because all these people seem willing to talk.

Yep blame everyone but yourself...I have a tumblr (don't use it anymore but it's still there) so I'm calling BS on the "some anon posted it" excuse...The administrator (of the KC tumblr) has full control over what is posted and also what is deleted ( yes you can go back and delete posts/ questions if you no longer want them on your timeline)

My question is why did a person of Ken's stature in the industry agree to work with someone who randomly popped out of the internet woodwork? Who did Joe say he was? And yes the whole "Ask me a question and I'll Email the question to Ken and then when he emails me an answer I'll post it on my tumblr" thing is strange...This whole arrangement leaves a LOT of room for embellishment and as others have said some of his answers regarding LB are troublesome...

I guess it just seems like the "Ledge" community and in particular the people that put in a lot of work making this site what it is have been taken advantage of...

When someone "Asks" you something (on your tumblr) you receive a notification (like an email)

You answer it like an email EXCEPT that when you answer it it's like hitting "submit" here on the "Ledge" and it gets posted for all to see...

One interesting note is that if you log out of your tumblr you can ask your self a question (as "anonymous" ) and then log back in to your tumblr and answer it...

I agree with everyone that Joe (Welcome Chris) has shown us how willing people are to speak. I wasn't thinking of Ken or Billy, since they have already given great Q & As, but I would love to do a Q & A with Bekka or John Courage or others, so I think maybe I will be more intrepid and start reaching out to people to get people on the actual Ledge to answer questions for us.

He's obviously a genuine (fanatical) fan and I really don't think he means any harm. I certainly don't think he's sought to make money from the Buckingham Nicks CD. I just don't think he quite gets it sometimes and to be honest I'm not sure he's the full ticket. It would be a shame if Welcomechris/Joe were banned permanently as he's a regular and enthusiastic contributor.

I've just noticed the message he's posted on the non-existent Russ Titelman tumblr. Even after the ban it seems he's still expressing links to The Ledge. Like I said, I'm not sure he really gets it.

Its a real shame as these Q&A's could have been really insightful if done properly. Possibly somebody should contact each of these people in an official capacity with a view to doing something properly in the future. ^^^ I agree, wholeheartedly with these above statements and would like add that none of us really know whether Joe was posting under "anonymous" or whether it was some clueless Ledgie posting who didn't know what was going on and maybe THOUGHT the Tumblr Q&A was affiliated with the Ledge.

Joe has certainly posted his fair share of "attention grabbing" threads and posted things that he still hasn't owned up to, even to this day(Moe Sizlack, etc) that many of us have found annoying. But more recently he has backed down from doing things like that and is basically harmless at this point. Give him another chance.

While I will not discuss the specifics of why particular board members receive disciplinary actions, I will reiterate that we do not ban people following a first offense. A sustained pattern of rule breaking has to be present. Banning is always a last resort option, and Ledge members will always know if they have strikes against them. These strikes come in the form of warning private messages, and temporary suspensions as warranted. It is important to remember the moderation team also removes egregious material from the board- so bad behavior is often invisible to most Ledgies.

So what people in the FM/Solo circle have memberships? You say Ken has one...Didn't John post once? I also agree with your earlier post that if the "Ledge" wanted to do some proper Q&A's that it's completely detrimental having someone running around masquerading as Ledge management...It's highly unprofessional to be representing someone (especially someone of Ken's stature in the industry ) and when things don't go your way you start using the website with their name on it to launch a personal attack of your own...

Some of the "Big Fish" may be approachable...Of the five Mick would be your best bet also Waddy did a Q&A years ago (time for an update) Dave Stewart is a possibility as he likes to talk...Lots of people over the years just a matter of tracking them down...

Dave Stewart has a membership. He has not used it. Someone in Weapons of Entertainment did not like it when I let that Call Sheet post stay up for In Your Dreams. So, I don't know what they think of this site.

Dave Stewart has a membership. He has not used it. Someone in Weapons of Entertainment did not like it when I let that Call Sheet post stay up for In Your Dreams. So, I don't know what they think of this site.

John did post. He also emailed me because he wanted to change something in the Christine and John bio that Lisa Adelson wrote. Please, 'bother' John. At least just once, to see if he's still interested/amenable. If he says no, no harm no foul. None of them are getting any younger, and you never know. If you ask, then we'll know and leave him alone. Just my (admittedly selfish) tuppence.

I don't understand why Joe didn't just work with Michele on bringing the Q&As here, where there's already an established collection and presence of fans to read them. The problem with having them scattered on individual web pages is that ultimately only a small percentage of people ever see them. It also discredits the artist/musician/producer to some degree by having them respond to some random tumblr page. Why reinvent the wheel?

Ken has been pretty consistent in his belief that Fleetwood Mac will not put out another record. "Maybe an EP" is not cutting it for me--and for so many people who have waited and waited. Sure the market has changed, and sure a new album would not gross what Rumours or Tango grossed, but I DO think a New FM record would do pretty well on the charts. A lot of people attending the recent shows are people under 30. They, as well as the longer-in-the-tooth fans would pony up for new music.

I agree completely. As a 20-something who sees YOUNG kids taking to FM, I just know the album would be appreciated. Maybe it wouldn't be up to industry standards in the market department, but IMO, Fleetwood Mac as a band, as a sound, should BE industry standards, even today. I'm over the current top 40, and these teens coming up are, too. They all LOVE the lyrics and the feeling. A lot of what they're getting from modern radio is lacking that. I'm all for a new FM album, especially since Chris is back on the road with them. Fingers crossed.

I'll bet they're afraid that it might stiff(in this non-CD buying day and age), and it would be an embarrassment to them. I hope I'm wrong.

It's certain that their very successful massive world-wide tour has raised their profile and commercial appeal across several generations. Having Christine back in the band is a major draw. But it's doubtful they fear any embarrassment if their album isn't a blockbuster. They are fully aware of the drastic changes in the music industry. As a vintage band, I think they have reasonable expectations, and are more focused on their artistry than market performance.

They can't compete with the Taylor Swift-like youth demographic that dominates the charts. I don't think their album will stiff. It's quite possible it will debut high on the charts. It would be nice if hangs on for a while. It will likely sell respectively on a international level. I hope the music is well received and gets positive press reviews.
