This may be a bit odd but I'm interested as to what Stevie albums are sold in different record stores around the world.

I live in the UK, and in my local HMV store there seems to be the same stock over and over again. Under Stevie's section I find: A few copies of In Your Dreams and Crystal Visions, the odd copy of Soundstage and Trouble in Shangri-La and as of yesterday, many copies of 24 Karat Gold.

So the above is what I always find in this store and I wondered how it differed to others. Also, I never see any of Stevie's albums pre TISL. Is this because they're out of print in the UK? Surely they're not in the US.

Anyway, I want to know what stuff you find in your stores and if you find copies of BD, TWH, RAL, TOSOTM, TTVBO, SA etc. because they certainly don't seem to sell them here in the UK!

I live in New York, and I never tire of seeing what Stevie/FM records and CDs my local music stores have in stock (even though I think I own everything Stevie and FM have released).

24KG is very well represented, and I often see IYD, too, along with Crystal Visions. Much harder to come across new copies of earlier releases (although used record stores consistently have BD, WH, RAL and TISL, and less frequently, OSOTM and SA).

We just spent the weekend in Seattle, and had some great finds, including the vinyl double '94 House of Blues radio broadcast. And one record store (Everyday Music) had a giant poster for 24KG on the wall. I wanted to buy it, but there was no way it would fit onto the plane. All I could think of was Stevie, kicking, screaming, and crying to get her Blue Lamp onto the plane to LA.

What record store.LOL.

The last good record store in town closed up 30 plus years ago which was my mothers neighbor owned.Merle's Record rack move to town and killed off my mothers neighbors store and Record Town was in the local Mall later There were fly by nights for some years in town which Kmart and electronics box stores like the WIZ and Crazy Eddie later Circuit City killed them of then before the big W"Walmart" came to town which killed them all..

I found a boot CD copy of B&N at the local CD shop in town years ago.Other then that I get great SN/FM deals at the local fleamarket.

I missed those times of the old record store.

Now its just a click away.

You just said a mouthful there. We use to have a Sam Goody's, Camelot, and Coconuts record store and now we have nothing. The only places around here now is the Record Exchange, where I refuse to shop. We also have a Buybacks, which is used cd's and movies. It's a sad state of affairs to be sure.

What record store.
Exactly. The last music store in my town (and also the other near) closed 8 years ago.

When I moved to the nearest city to attend university (I think you call it college) I roamed all the music stores of the centre and they had nothing related to Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. Even the used vinyls store had nothing, that had a l0t of other artist that here are pretty obscure.

When I went to Feltrinelli store (basically the italian version of Amazon but it's still primarily a physical chain store) they had a copy of the Fleetwood Mac 1988 Greatest Hits. I was yayy!

Now its just a click away.
The Feltrinelli official website had almost all the Fleetwood Mac remastered albums in the italian versions and my best friend bought 24K gold for my birthday from it.

Thanks for starting this topic James .I thought about this alittle more last night.

Two current places come to mind are Bestbuys since they have most if all Stevie and FM in stock and Spin Street at Mohegan Sun Casino. They are expensive but they have a great collection of odd stuff that other shops dont carry.Spin Street has Micks new book in stock at that time I was there when I seen FM live last winter..

http://mohegansun.com/poi/shopping/spin-street.html

Also currently we have a FYE in the local mall which I picked up another copy of Stevie's 24K vinyl. They also have a great collection Stevie and FM in stock.
I think they replaced Record Town and now Radio Shack is gone.

I notice Walmart's CD collection is shrinking and they have some Stevie /FM CDs there along with triple dozens of copies of the current artists.

I have not been to Target and Kmart to see when they have available.Their collections are probably shrinking like Walmarts .Sears up at the mall has a good CD/DVD collection .I got two copies of Stevie's Soundstage Blueray DVDs for $10 bucks each.I think Sears had a deal with PBS since they have most of the PBS programming on DVD there.

Merle's Record Rack! My husband grew up in CT, and bought his first Stevie album (Timespace!) on cassette there!

Hahaha .We had a Coconuts and Strawberries in the next town over. They are gone too.

Yea we call it college but we use the term university too.Thats good that you have a place to get your music.

One thing I did notice. The shops stock up their shelves of the artist and bands music when they are playing in town.I noticed that when Stevie and the Mac is in the state for a show or two.

I'm very surprised that HMV does not have a wider selection.

I was lucky to find Stevie's Belladonna Album ,FM's White Album and two copies of FM's 1988 greatest hits in Walmarts $5 dollar CD bin box.I almost died when I seen Stevie's BD and Macs CD in the bin.My copies are so shot.

Hhahaha. What a small world.Merle's had great collection there.I think I got Stevie BD as a gift from my mom there I think I got Mirage there.Kmart and Caldor's at the time seem to lag on getting some of their new album releases in stock .Merle's always got them in quickly . The last CD I got there before they closed was Carry Underwood and Faith Hill as gifts for my late sister for Christmas.

I think Walmart and other box stores and the internet killed them .Merle's was great for special ordering albums and stuff.

Same as Home Depot and Lowe's killed off the small ma pa hardware stores and lumber yards .That a whole other topic.

Unless I'm at a used record store, the only ones I ever see are Crystal Visions and 24kt Gold. Although I did see Bella Donna recently but I already own 2 used copies so I didn't buy it. I bought Rock A Little a few months ago but again, it's used. I've never seen any of her other albums, new or used. And if I did I would certainly own them. I'm on the hunt at all the different record stores in town at least twice a month for whatever Stevie and FM vinyls I don't already have. But I haven't had luck in a while 😏

The Stevie CDs currently in Everyday Music, the record store I most frequent, currently has 24 Karat Gold, Crystal Visions, and several used copies of Trouble in Shangri-La.

At the local antique shop by me (which also sells records, all used), I spotted two copies of bella Donna and two copies of The Wild heart (I picked one up) all in perfect condition, with little to no scratches on the vinyl! I also picked up the While album and Mirage.

The FYE (music store) in my mall had Rumours and Greatest Hits on vinyl (which I picked up also). As far as CD's, they Had the "Beauty and the Beast" radio broadcast, a copy of Bella Donna, as well as some 24KT Gold and Crystal Visions. They had the Live in Boston CD+2DVD combo for months, but someone must have bought it

I don't buy CD's so I know little to nothing on the matter... I was at a record shop downtown that had the largest CD collection I'd ever seen and they had all of Stevie's releases. Including SA, Timespace, etc...

As far as records, I've hit a relatively large number of vinyl shops and I've seen Bella Donna a ton of times, and Rock A Little once (picked that one up at the time). Never saw Wild Heart, to the annoyance that I finally ordered it online. I've also seen Crystal Visions and 24 KG on vinyl in shops.

I went the other day and saw a million 24 Karat Gold copies. I also saw two beat up Bella Donna's and some very nice Clear Vinyl Crystal Visions.

From what I've heard so far, it seems to me as though copies of Bella Donna are not that hard to find in the US but they certainly are here in the UK.

As far as vinyl is concerned, I've been to three local used record stores and every time there seems to be a few copies of Rock a Little. I know it went gold here in the UK but I can't believe how many copies I keep finding as opposed to TWH, BD and especially TOSOTM which was very popular over here. However, I know that TOSOTM was most popular on CD format back in 1989 where it reached #1 on that format but #3 on the overall album sales chart, maybe that's why.

Thanks for posting guys, this is interesting! :)

I don't usually find rare things in the local record shop. There are so few of them around these days that the most rabid collectors have already snapped up what little the one or two shops can keep in stock. I do occasionally find Fleetwood Mac live bootlegs though, which tend to be more expensive. I do 99% of my collecting online, with the remaining 1% devoted to music shows and that elusive record shop.

I'm an avid record hunter and will seek out a record store in any town I'm passing thru. I'm thankful that in Northern California there were still an abundance of record stores, now in Oregon it's a rich market and I was just in LA & back in Nor Cal not long ago and each visit I made the pilgrimage to Ameoba records. What I'm finding these days is little to no "vintage" stuff but a bevy of bootlegs items (Buckingham Nicks in particular) or the new releases such as 24kg & the re-released CV on clear vinyl. But EVERYTHING in the FM section is the new re mastered stuff-pre BN up to the GH. Stores here in Oregon state how they can't keep a copy of Rumours on vinyl or CD in stock, old, new...makes no matter. Crazy that it still sells like that!
Records are being sold in BB&B and Barnes & Noble, Hot Topics, American Apparel, etc. But it's all new releases or re prints. I suppose atleast records are selling...it's something.
