*Tom Moncrieff is claimed to have co-written "Gold And Braid". Is this true? Do You Agree?

*Sting is referred to as a co-writer on "Edge of Seventeen" and "Bombay Sapphires" because of the relations between those songs and "Bring on the Night". Do You Agree? Even Waddy Wachtel says They ripped off The Police, but they changed it. (http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/penguin/qa/)

*The Who is usually named as a co-writer of "Mirror, Mirror" because of the similarities between "Eminence Front" and "Mirror, Mirror".However, Tangerine Dream is also Referred to as a co-writer because of the similarities between "Love On A Real Train" and "Mirror, Mirror". If someone could find me the real songwriters of "Love on A Real Train", I'd be really happy!

*Richard Ashcroft is referred to as the co-writer of "Illume" because of the similarities betweeen "Illume" and "New York".

*Richard Ashcroft is also referred to as the co-writer of "Say You Will" because of the similarities between "Say You Will" and "C'mon People"

*Warren Zevon is referred to as the co-writer of "Angel" because of the similarities between "Angel" and "Werewolves of London" (Which John McVie & Mick Fleetwood Played on)

*Prince is a very common co-writer of "Stand Back" because of the similarities between "Stand Back" and "Little Red Corvette". Prince also added synthesizer to the song adding his own beat, making the song a dance groove. Stevie has often said that she offered Prince credit, but he denied it.

Are these people actually listed in the credits of the songs though? Or do people just mention that the songs sound alike?

This is silly. You can apply this logic to any artist. Many songs inherently have elements and borrowed influences from other songs. Calling out other artists as co-writers is a far stretch. Unless those artists takes legal action and court deems it to be outright plagiary-- only then will they be officially credited as co-writers.

Shouldn't this thread just be called "songs that sound like other songs"?
