Madonna's Longtime Publicist Liz Rosenberg to Retire
Liz Rosenberg, a music industry veteran who is best known to the masses as Madonna's publicist, has announced her retirement.
She broke the news to the New York Post's Page Six column on June 23, jokingly commenting, "I think two centuries is long enough, don't you?"
Rosenberg has been Madonna's publicist since 1983. She also currently represents Cher, Stevie Nicks and Michael Buble. A longtime staffer at Warner Bros. Records, where she started working 1971, she launched her own firm, Liz Rosenberg Media, in 2010 after leaving the label. During her 39-year tenure at Warner Bros., she worked with such acts as Van Halen, Prince and Rod Stewart, among many others.
I wonder what this means for Stevie, how long has she been her publicist?

It means she'll hire someone else or go with whoever was on the staff there who help with her publicity , or go back to letting her brother handle it .

Either case won't bode well for her. Liz is THE preeminent publicist in the entertainment industry. It was a major coup for Stevie to land Liz as her publicist a half dozen years ago. Since that time Liz got Stevie on Soundstage, American Idol, Dancing With The Stars, a FM themed Glee episode, a Stevie themed American Horror season... I could go on and on. Liz transformed Stevie's persona into that of a revered living legend. For the first time ever, Stevie is taken seriously by the industry, especially the music critics.
Shrugging off the loss of Liz is akin to those who say it doesn't matter who Stevie's producer is. Nobody will demand respect and fight for Stevie the way Liz has. Nobody else has that kind of clout. Especially with the way Stevie has been behaving towards FM lately, Liz's departure is going to be a stunning loss for Stevie. I wouldn't be surprised to see Stevie's star power slip because of it.

the single most important thing she did was getting people to stop treating her as a joke and getting her respect , by having them introduce her as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame /Grammy winner when she first took Stevie on

someone like Liz with clients as big as Madonna and Stevie et al doesn't just leave without a transition plan in place that has probably been going on for some time already. If she's smart she's got some heir(s) apparent who are prepped to step in. (Or not-- she could be evil and let them fight it out after she's gone and earn it for themselves). But even then whoever her top deputies are will have been on their own smartly angling to get certain clients to stay with them after Liz leaves, building relationships and trust with Stevie, her managers, her lawyers, Karen, whomever it takes. Agree whoever it is won't have the same clout as Liz who built all her connections through decades at Warner's. And god help us if Stevie picks someone from her entourage....

"Chris Nicks, taking over for Liz Rosenberg, promises to get 'My sister's records back in every jukebox and her face on the front pages of every newspaper and her videos played on every VHF and UHF video show and her laser discs in every video store!"

That's hilarious. If Stevie's parents were still alive, I could totally see her dad sitting her down and saying (as in MANY times past, I'm sure) "Sigh...well, Stevie...Chris REALLY needs a job right now. He's driving me and your mother CRAZY! Can you please give him something to do?"

LOL Adobe should block Chris Nicks from ever owning Photoshop. What that man does/did with photoshop is criminal. Tacky to a whole new level!
