What's In My Bag? Better safe than sorry! Stevie Nicks, 66, spills her carryall for Us

The Fleetwood Mac songstress is ready to go her own way. "I feel that if the plane goes down or I'm stuck on an island, all I'll have is my purse," quips Nicks, whose eighth solo studio album, 24 Karat Gold: Songs From the Vault, is out now. "So I always have any medicines I might need - and a Haim CD, just in case." The music legend lets Us peek inside her Hayden-Harnett satchel.

If It Ain't Broke . . .

"I'm super-old-school. I have a red Nokia flip phone for emergencies. I call it the 'fire phone.' Otherwise, I'll only talk on the phone if I'm near a landline and really have the time."

Naturally Smooth

"(Bandmate Christine McVie) gave me a tin of Surfer's Salve from Maui. It's great for your lips and cuticles. I also use a lysine balm, which helps undo damage from really drying lipsticks."

Freshen Up

"I have about 10 packs of 5 gum, the React flavor. I chew it whenever I come off stage for a break."

Picture Perfect

"Nothing compares to the old Polaroids, but I always have my Canon digital camera. It's scratched to death!"

Tough as Nails

"The best thing in the world is Poshe's topcoat polish. If you use it as both a base and topper, your manicure will last three weeks!"

And then she pulled out a dildo.

Wouldn't be surprised!

I love this article as it is nice to see a more personal side to the real Stevie and not the gold dust woman performer.

She hit the nail right on top about those cell phones.EMERGENCIES only.

I have a dead Tracfone flip somewhere and I have to get a new one soon once the traveling season starts.

I'm tired of those idiots using them and almost run me down as I walk plus the same when driving.Rant done.Hehehe.

I love her little Blue Canon camera.A little advice for her.She should put the Canon in a small camera case.I destroyed my first Nikon while carrying it loose in my carry bag years ago.As she said its scratched already.

I love this article finally we get to see what types of things and brands Stevie uses. The only two things I can't figure out what they are is the white and blue thing that looks like possibly an electric fan. Any ideas folks?

Stevie Nicks is ready to go her own way. “I feel that if the plane goes down or I’m stuck on an island, all I’ll have is my purse,” quips the Fleetwood Mac songstress, 66, whose eighth solo studio album, 24 Karat Gold: Songs From the Vault, is out now. “So I always have any medicines I might need - and a Haim CD, just in case.” The music legend, who’s currently gracing the cover of Rolling Stone and touring with the reunited Fleetwood Mac, lets Us Weekly peek inside her Hayden-Harnett satchel - the only bag she owns! — And find out all about her old school flip phone, iPod, the hipster girl band she can’t live without and much, much more.

The Worn-In Look

“It’s a really beautiful leather bag that I bought about ten years ago. Everybody has forever been saying, ‘How come you don’t get a new bag?’ My answer is because I like this bag. I don’t really care about designer bags and I don’t have the energy to be switching bags all the time.”

If It Ain’t Broke…

“I’m super old-school. I have a red Nokia flip phone for emergencies. I call it the ‘fire phone’ because I had to be evacuated from the Latigo Canyon Fire in Malibu a few years back. I was alone and terrified, so I thought, okay, I need to get an emergency little cell. Otherwise, I’ll only talk on the phone if I’m near a landline and really have the time.”

Naturally Smooth

“[Bandmate Christine McVie] gave me a tin of Surfer’s Salve from Maui. It’s great for your lips and cuticles. I also use a lysine balm, which helps undo damage from really drying lipsticks.”

Freshen Up

“I have about 10 packs of 5 Gum, the React flavor. I chew it whenever I come off stage for a break.”

Picture-Perfect

“Nothing compares to the old Polaroids, but I always have my Canon digital camera. It’s scratched to death! I have thousands and thousands of ridiculously unimportant selfies that I took while trying to learn to be a photographer. I might actually give in and get an iPhone, though. Not to use as a phone, I just need a better picture-taker.”

Comes Down to The Wire

“[Haim is] just my favorite. I’m just very enamored with their music and they’re very influenced by Fleetwood Mac. I think they’re going to be a big force in rock n’ roll. I think they’re one of the few bands that I have met that not even the tragedy of the music business and Internet piracy, I don’t think it’s going to stop them.”

Tough as Nails

“The best thing in the world is Poshé’s topcoat polish. If you use it as both a base and a topper, your manicure will last three weeks.”

Loose Change

“I don’t have a wallet! All I have a little phone book that looks like it belongs to a six-year-old. In it, my assistant sticks about $250 in case I ever get lost in the fray. I don’t drive, so I don’t have a driver’s license - just a passport. So I don’t even have anything to put in a wallet!”

Take Notes!

“I always have pens on hand, because I write everything down: songs, poems, everything.”

Touch-Ups

“I did my makeup my whole life up until I was 30. When you’re lucky enough to have a makeup artist you make her do it! It’s just easier - I have more important things to think about than doing my makeup! But, when I do, I stick to a palette of browns, golds and mauves, and mauvey pink lipsticks. Brand doesn’t really matter to me, as long as I see something I like - Chanel, Clinique, Lancome, Revlon.”

Oh La La

“I have wonderful new hand cream and lip gloss called Votre Vouz and it’s from Paris. The lotion smells really good and the little lip gloss is on the top - it’s like a whole little one-man show. It’s fantastic, but hard to find.”

Tunage

“I have an older iPod, it’s a big black one. It always goes with me in the purse and it’s got thousands of mix tapes I’ve made on it – Drum rehearsal music, Fleetwood Mac rehearsal music…”

Never Goes Out of Style

“I’m the kind of person where my clothes I wear today are the exact same outfits I was wearing my second year into Fleetwood Mac. You know I’m going on stage in a black velvet riding jacket and black chiffon skirt and suede boots. I don’t change a lot!”

I would love to see her photos from her blue Canon .Some behind the scenes of FM as she takes some shots of the band.

This was nice of her letting them take a peek in her bag.

I guess her only identification is her passport if somebody questions her and believe shes not Stevie Nicks.

I changed your quote because you only asked about one item, not two. But my best guess is it is an asthma inhaler.

I'm like this with my purses. I do like a high end designer handbag and I will get one and then wear it for 3 years, day in and day out, until a handle breaks or something. I don't switch back and forth.

I'm reluctant to believe this is random.C'mon ladies, back me up here - where are the pantiliners and Summer's Eve clothes?Still carries that aspirin, huh? If I see a dropper I'll start worrying....and where is that damn joint?

Everything is pretty clean for it to be random. Just taking stuff in and out of my purse and having the items roll around in there with broken pens and spilled ink and kleenex lint, gets them pretty scuffed up.

The handbag was definitely ready for its close up.

Lipstick looks unused. Nail polish bottles are completely full. Haim jewel case and other items look untouched.
Usually when I see a 'what's in their bag' article, I assume they use a dummy bag. However, Stevies purse looks
like it's worn in, there are scuff marks on the outside.

I bet she rummaged through her bag before-hand and gave the more personal items to Karen for safe keeping.

(I used the us magazine link and rolled over the pic to zoom in.)

I was wondering that too. I will say I'm an asthmatic and my family is full of asthmatics and while we've collectively used just about everything on the market, that absolutely does not look remotely close to any inhaler iver ever seen. So to the person who suggested that, I doubt it. Unless it's some really bizarre type of spacer.

Also I'm a make up fanatic and seriously someone needs to tell Stevie at this point in time you absolutely do NOT need to settle for drying lipstick!!!! Irks me a bit that she mentioned that. I know so many brands in all price ranges and I have an all out disease that causes me to have ultra dry and cracked lips so gosh, if I ever get my dream of hanging out with Stevie for the day I'm taking her to Sephora or something!

As far as getting a case for the camera, maybe. I had a little pink Nikon very similar to that Canon and while I did have a car and loved how easy it was to take everywhere (somewhen tell her no iPhone. Can't speak for the Canon she has but the Nikon I mentioned was still way better than my iPhone for almost everything!) but the case wasn't going to save when I dropped the camera, with the lens out, face first onto cement. I know Stevie wears wrist braces a lot so eh doing what I did is probably her biggest worry, lol.

I agree that she and probably everyone else who has ever done this sort of thing cleaned it out ahead of time. My thoughts though are- eh how can you tell if a CD has been touched or not if its in a case, looks no different than any of mine and I listen to some albums daily and drag the in and out of the car. Unsure how you know the polish is completely full but how many nail polishes do you have at home? How many actually show many signs of use? You can get several coats at least out of a nail polish bottle without it actually looking used. I have similar thoughts on the lipstick. I assume Stevie has a big make up collection, as do I, and she didn't claim any one particular shade or brand was her must have everyday color so unless she smashes it on her face, you can wear lipsticks down in a way that doesn't look any different from the open one in the picture. And there's several others in the picture. When you have a big bag, you lose make up in the depths all the time, I find entire palettes buried in mine that I forgot about! And I have way less money than Stevie but I love make up and have so much lipstick very few of them ever look very used because I switch off a lot.

Anyway I could be way off and not sure it matters one way or the other but while yeah I know women who own maybe a couple of lipsticks and wear them often, I really picture Stevie as being someone with tons of product. And product junkies rarely use any one thing long enough for it to really show. And she's got loads of money so.. And Pfft if someone was gonna open and wind up one of my lipsticks and lay it out like that, I don't think I'd want to wear it again!
