favorite 2 songs from each LB studio album (plus extras)?

[elle]

talking in the Loving Cup thread (quote below) and digging for old polls made me curious... we probably had separate polls for favorites from each solo album (i guess?) and also favorite LB solo song, but looking at album by album:

what are your favorite 2 songs on each studio album, as well as favorite 2 of the extras, b-sides, etc?

[and no, although LB's 9 Tusk songs could be perceived as solo, as well as his original GOS songs that ended up on SYW, those don't count.]

we can also add favorite 2 of his still unreleased solo songs.

i think there was voting for 2 favorite songs from each of his solo albums first, than also 2 of extras, soundtracks, and b-sides (that's how Sleeping Around the Corner is on there), and those winners were then the songs that went into a final vote. although there seem to be 3 OOTC songs on this list for some reason, maybe they had the same number of votes or something...

so the 2 top songs with the most votes from each album must have been:

In Our Own Time / That's The Way That Love Goes (SWS)
The Right Place To Fade / Did You Miss Me (GOS)
Down On Rodeo / Cast Away Dreams (UTS)
Countdown / Turn It On / You Do Or You Don't (OOTC)
Go Insane / Slow Dancing (GI)
Trouble / Bwana (L&O)
Holiday Road / Sleeping Around The Corner (extras, soundtracks, etc)

[elle]

here's my list, for today:

L&O:
1. A Satisfied Mind
2. Johnny Stew

Go Insane:
1. DW Suite
2. Go Insane

OOTC (this one is really really hard one for me, i love 5 songs about the same, including Don't Look Down, This Is the Time, Doing What I Can):
1. Turn It On
2. You Do or You Don't

UTS:
1. Down on Rodeo
2. To Try for the Sun

GOS (another really hard one, with 4 songs sharing the first place, including Wait for you and GOS):
1. The Right Place to Fade
2. Underground

SWS (another really really hard one! That's the Way that Love Goes used to be my favorite song from this, but it is currently replaced by RAB; also love Gone Too Far, and practically every song from this album... the bottom of my list would be Stars and When She Comes Down):
1. In Our Own Time
2. Rock Away Blind

unreleased (this is really hard too!):
1. Deep Dense
2. Singer Not the Song

extras, soundtracks, b-sides:
1. Seeds We Sow (electric)
2. She Acts Like You

[nicole21290]

The whole thing is ridiculously difficult and with some albums, pretty much nearly every song could make the list, bar maybe one or two. The other thing is that sometimes a stellar live version or the lyrics can make me overcome my hesitance about a great song's not so great production (to my ears). Anyway...

haha! i guess that's fair. so if people feel like it, can also add 2 of your favorites from unreleased GOS1 too, whether they were released on SYW, one of LB's solo albums, or still unreleased. the versions that were released were slightly to a lot different anyway.

my 2 top choices from unreleased GOS1 would probably be (this is really hard because i still consider this his best solo album although it alternates with SWS):

good point! now i'm really glad i didn't put That's the Way Love Goes as one of my 2 choices from SWS - i love the song, but really i love it live, and album version is somehow toothless compared to live.

IOOT i think both live and album versions, although different, are sublime. RAB album version is sublime, and while live is pretty, i am still unhappy that he chose to cut off that gorgeous outro.
