Anyone else think it's Stevie singing the regulars including the piano version of Rhiannon? Looks like the same old stuff.

Rhiannon seems to be the only song she is capable of singing while playing piano She has done this many times. How is this news? There has to be more to it!

The most important thing for me is to find out ASAP is if the surprise will be some kind of last minute, intimate solo show next week. Do I need to start acting "sick" at work now? LOL (seriously tho)

Now, that could be entirely possible. A one-off at the Wiltern or something.

She will only provide her songs for new Mac album so long as she can promote 24k with one song on the current tour.

This still reigns as the 2nd most favorite Ledgie story for me. The first being our Ledgie in Australia who was looking out a coffee shop window in early 1980 and saw FM riding on a bus and ran out, stopped the bus and was invited inside and had a sweet chat with Stevie.

Just for the record my 3rd favorite was the Ledgie who thought the lyrics in FireFlies was: Everyone stays close to the fireplace:lol::]:p

Exactly. She's basically bribing them. I hope so anyway because this album would've done much better if she had promoted it initially, so any promotion now is good. It's killing her that this album has died already, and in less than half the time of In Your Dreams and she wasn't happy with the performance of that.

I'm not sure what Liz is referring to in the plural sense but I do know of the big one. Jan 14 is the date for that. It is not setlist related, she is not doing a one-off next week.

Damn. I really wish there was a Stevie Nicks song on the OWTS set list. :( We never get her own concerts here in Europe, and Lady is simply beautiful.

I don't suppose the news is a European tour for 24 Karat Gold? Lol...

Shes going to announce on TV that she going to change to different music genders after Mac is over with and dye her hair purple or shave it .

Do a country album with a current artist as she wears a cowboy hat and boots or do a album with Tony Bennett or similar classical artist or team up with a current rap/hip-hop artist. LOL ...

OK I'm having fun... Oh I love to hear"Lady" at the FM show.

I think it could be a couple things.

1 She will hit the studio with FM.She must be tired of people asking her about it by now. Here you go Elle.

2 She pop out 24K 2 and do a small tour to promote both albums.

3 She could be joining one of the TV talent shows as a judge .

4 She will appear on a TV show like AHS or some other show.

Hahahaha let see how close I''l be on the 14th.LOL.................................................

Hahahaha probably none above.

I admit I'm excited, but I'm trying to keep my expectations low. Given that the FM tour keeps her busy for the next 6 months, I'm not sure how "big" it can be. I guess a new video for a 24KG song would be doable, and definitely cool. Some of the other options (a 24KG tour, recording with FM) would have to wait awhile, so an announcement of such would be premature to say the least.

She's practically unknown save among the experts of the music sector.
Fleetwood Mac are better known among music magazines but are equally unknown among masses.
Wich is strange because classic rock radios play both Stevie and Fleetwood Mac material quite often.

I never got into Lenny Kravitz tunes but I've read that he is a great guitar player.

This reminds me of David Hasselhoff. He 's hot with his music in Germany and some other countries but he's not in the states like his acting is on TV.

The same with Andy Griffith's Jim Nabors .He was hot with his music over in Europe but not in the states.

I actually done that almost in that way as I drove to the box office of the local casinos figuring getting better seats of the show as they first went on sale,

BS. It was a failure .The seats were no better then the ones online.

Yikes. I'm not the biggest fan of Katy. OK, I'm not a fan at all, though I think Roar is a catchy song - but it had 5 writers, so it should be catchy since it was contrived to be.

Katy does have some pipes and a powerful vocal ability, and I'm not sure her and Stevie's current voice would sound good together.

2. Think About Me
3. Straight Back
4. Love in Store
5. Fireflies
6. Down Endless Street
7. Welcome to the Room...Sara
8. Tango in the Night
9. One More Night
10. Angel
11. Why
12. The Ledge
13. I Don't Want to Know
14. Can't Go Back
15. Sugar Daddy
16. Thrown Down
17. Save Me a Place
18. Honey Hi
19. Don't Let Me Down Again
20. Smile At You
21. Mystified

encore
22. That's Alright
23. Peacekeeper
24. Over and Over
25 . Farmer's Daughter

I'm SURE that's what it is :)

Kevin

And I would love this show (except for Peacekeeper - but we all need a bathroom break, yet so late in the show...)

I hope and pray for some concert video, perhaps an intimate setting or just for the camera with commentary. But she should stay away from pianos, her playing is awful.

I wouldn't call it awful; it's just very rudimentary. She uses a piano to write her songs, but it's very surprising to see her making solo public appearances given her limited abilities. I give her credit for doing it (time makes her bolder) yet it doesn't do her any favors. Still, it is interesting to see Stevie play an instrument other than a tambourine. After decades of playing the piano, it appears that she has successfully avoided advances in her proficiency.

Kudos! I always thought Blue Letter would be a good show opener! Tango in the Night, Can't Go Back, Sugar Daddy. Honey Hi, That's Aright, Straight Back, Firelifes ---all should have had their moments on stage. And of all the the over-looked songs prior to 1975, Why deserved a come back. A Hits-Free tour! An interesting concept that doubt will ever happen. Any history of a big rock band ever doing that?

I actually think Stevie is probably (or was, at one time) a more proficient guitarist than she is a pianist, based on what little evidence we do have of her playing... but living and working with Lindsey may have killed any confidence she had in her guitar abilities. I don't mean that to sound like a dig at Lindsey - I just mean that being mediocre at something in the midst of someone who is great at it can put a damper on things, sometimes. I play piano pretty well by most people's standards, but stick me in a room with a piano prodigy and I never want to look at the damn instrument again.

Don't laugh...She's been showing her guitar to a lot of people lately . First it was in the "IYD" doc then she broke it out for her BMI "Icon" award. Next she will be playing it again.

I would imagine that by the time Rumours came to be that the last thing LB wanted was another playing guitar especially Stevie. Can you imagine if Stevie had kept up her playing and was performing "Landslide" by herself at FM shows. Don't think LB would have liked that at all back then. I believe it's in the "Rock A Little" liner notes that Stevie says she wished she had kept her playing skills up.

Totally. I never compare my work to other artists because I know it will only destroy my self-confidence... But when practicing it doesn't hurt to look at others' work.

I still blame the show producers for not giving them more rehearsal time.

I just can't get over the fact that Stevie Nicks is singing along to "You Belong With Me" hahaha. I actually love that song, but it's so kiddy compared to her own work! It's like she's the teacher in an elementary school singalong.

Even giving consideration that Stevie could become proficient with a guitar, I doubt she would ever become a second guitar player in Fleetwood Mac. She's a visual performer - playing anything more complex than a tambourine would hinder her stage presence. Her limited level of musicianship as a pianist and guitar player appears mostly as a means to write songs. I don't think Lindsey would ever be concerned that Stevie could usurp his role. She has a special talent but she was never destined to have the range of someone like Joni Mitchell.

Stevie played guitar standing right next to Lindsey on stage for years (BN) and would have played for FM but she says LB would have found something to complain about so why bother.

I sincerely hope you're wrong. By the time this FM tour wraps, she will have toured for 2.5 years solid with the band. Before that she toured for about 2 solid years solo. I pray all of this will help her decide to break from life on the road for a while to record this final FM album. Don't get me wrong, a handful of theater dates showcasing the 24k songs would be amazing, but I certainly don't see that in the cards. Stevie likes to go big or go home.

Either way, whatever this week's announcement is won't be anywhere near this consequential. It'll be new exclusive content for her website or something equally as unexciting. :p

Right???!!!

She did it on VH1 Storytellers, she did it on Dave Stewart's HBO show, she did it on AHS:Coven, she just RECENTLY did it on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (albeit as an extra bonus on their website)...it's just "old hat" these days!

But seriously, the only other songs she seems comfortable playing on the piano (in their most basic forms) in public are HAEWAFY, Moonlight, Planets and Dreams. They're all kind of "old hat" as well, but I'd take any of those over Rhiannon at this point.

Yeah, it wasn't a *new* song, but it wouldn't make sense to do a new song acapella like that, at least for the general public. It's good because casual fans will recognize the song, and at the same time see that she's "still got it". Maybe some will even consider buying her new release because of it.

I especially loved the "her bright eyes" part. She sang it beautifully.

It's just so plodding. I understand why she uses the piano to write songs. It is somewhat of an interesting novelty to see her playing an instrument while singing. The issue is that her keyboard skills are barely passable. If she simply focused on what she does best (singing), accompanied by an accomplished piano player, these bare-bones performances would sound infinitely better.
