I just came across this video interview with Stevie on the Access Hollywood website. It appears to be raw footage that was recorded in the last day. She talks about the 24KG album recording process and is also asked about upcoming solo tour plans. She says she is committed to FM for the next year so has no solo shows planned, but will eventually.

Well I guess we have our answer. There will be a 2016 tour. :]

I can't believe she doesn't want a rest! By then she would've toured extensively for nearly 3 years, including the 2013 tour. She's amazing. :)

People say crazy things
Just 'cause she said it, don't mean that she meant it
Just 'cause you heard it .........

Ahh, she does confirm that she owed one more record to Warner. I recall there was some controversy amongst the threads here about whether or not that was the case. Also, I wonder what the 17th song was that they eventually dropped?

Ahh this is great!! 5-6 songs from IYD and 5 songs from 24k Gold mixed in with 5 songs or so that she normally plays for a solo tour after Fleetwood Mac is done. I would die to hear all these newer songs in concert!!

And didn't she say it would be 5 songs from In Your Dreams that HAD NOT been performed before? (or am I just imagining that?)

I saw it live at Red Rocks and it went over really well. I don't understand why it was dropped.

I love that she finally admits that her songs got out because she GAVE them out -- saying she would write a song, put it on cassette and give out ten copies. She doesn't say they were stolen.

She does seem a bit on autopilot, like this might have come at the end of a long day of interviews or something. Like she's just getting through it. Tired of talking all day I'm sure.

she's clearly heard all the chatter about a musical or movie or play or whatever about the FM story and knows everybody's opinions of it and is very clear she does NOT have the interest or energy into putting it together at ALL. I found that interesting. But she's absolutely right-- it's really hard because you've got FIVE people's lives going on, and how do you bound that? Clearly if you only focus on one or two people you shortchange the others and piss people off and if I were her I wouldn't want to touch that issue with a ten foot pole either.

How funny that she's still hung up on those IYD songs. I'd freak out if the title track was added back in. The only other I see worth playing is Italian Summer. I can't see her ever doing 10 new songs in a set.

What she should do is a showcase, 10 small venues, all deep cuts. A long show, with breaks inbetween. She could throw in some 24K Gold songs. By the time she's done with FM, the album is going to be too old!

"I have a little over a year left with Fleetwood Mac." More tour dates? An album? Both? I'm surprised no one has mentioned this statement yet. We certainly didn't know they had firm plans that far out, did we?

No -she said that, and I couldn't be happier! Along with the 24 Karat Gold songs that she mentioned, I really hope these plans pan out. I'm sure they will - as she said, "What else am I gonna do?"

Can we fast-forward this year please???

No problem Lisa .I would of had it up sooner if my internet connection wasn't giving me problems.

Yes they probably run clips of it maybe the next couple of days or on the weekend show..

I find Stevie very harsh and agitated in this interview, I sure wish she smiled more. Was interesting all the same.

Stevie is rarely lighthearted or smiley, especially when she's talking about herself. When is she ever not talking about herself? Almost never. She's very abrupt in her speech, and takes herself too seriously. She has strong emotional intelligence, but she is not very intellectual. (Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses).

The concept of a Fleetwood Mac musical and the babble that followed was embarrassing. But I found it interesting yet not surprising that Stevie isn't into musicals. It was bit of a misnomer when you hear her state "I'm not a musical person." Also, for a bit of potty humor taken out of context, she said "do do!"

I thought she seemed fine...just very direct, like she was in no mood for BS or small talk. I like this side of her. I like when asked about touring solo again, she answered along the lines of, well yeah...what else would I do? So funny. But I get her theory about once you slow down just a little it's harder to get back up and going again. I can relate to that for sure.

I agree with everything you said here except for the "not very intellectual". How do you know? Do you have her IQ score?

As far as the "musical" comments, they were a little eye-rolling. But sometimes I think Stevie lives in a world where people are constantly referring to her as a "legend" and I think that gets into her head almost subconsciously. So if she's guilty of anything it might be a lack of modesty that's manifested thru the constant praise she aquires.

(Wow - I sounded like a shrink there.)

agree, that's really good info.

Lindsey said similar to some of his fans, when repeatedly asked about his next solo endeavors... that 2016 seems entirely plausible for his next OMS (solo) tour.

that said, i think they've been negotiating and re-negotiating every single day, trying to get SN on board for the album so they can put out everything they've recorded and finished so far (they say they have at least 8 songs completely finished, i guess that means with everybody's parts done but Stevie's), and so with everything up in the air what they say one day may change 2 days later.

but if i can't get it any sooner, i'd settle for LB solo in 2016.

and i hope that FM album comes out in 2015. maybe they coaxed SN into not doing solo tour in summer of 2015 (presumably on the break from FM tour?), but finish that FM album instead during that time?

Stevie said she is NOT touring solo in 2015. Stevie solo in 2016 seems likely. So FM better get Stevie on board for that record quickly. More importantly, they need to pull themselves away from the touring trough long enough to finish recording and get the new record out in 2015, releasing it no later than late summer 2015, or Stevie will likely be moving on after her "little over a year left with FM" is over. If they wait till next fall to release, I feel it will be too late. I don't believe Stevie is not going to want to go out and promote a new FM tour AND record for even 6 months afterwards. That would be 4 years in a row of her committing to FM. I don't think she thinks the world is sitting around waiting, or even wanting another FM record, just the @5K members on The Ledge. ;)

I pretty much gotta agree. except to say I think she IS lighthearted and smiley and laugh-y when she's not doing interviews and hustling, hustling, hustling her career.

I loved how she said about Lady that she'd hoped when she wrote it that someday someone would make a musical like Oklahoma or South Pacific out of it, then not five minutes later is a little testy and saying she doesn't like musicals, was never into musicals, her best friend (presumably Robin) was but SHE was not.

A couple of times now in the last week or so she's made comments about "the next ten years" and it seems like that's her internal timeframe-- that she's figured she's got ten more years realistically with age, health, appearance, voice and all that to do any more rock n roll stuff before it's probably not going to be feasible to keep it going (or her vanity gets the better of her and she doesn't want to be out if she's not still stunning)…..

Well she said she hoped "someone" would do so and then the interviewer went on a tangent about "oh you're going to write a musical now?" so I think that's why she clarified that she wasn't.

Belfast Telegraph 28 November 2014

http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/news/nicks-no-more-boys-club-30784237.html

Stevie Nicks has spoken about how Christine McVie’s return to Fleetwood Mac has reignited the band’s “feminine” side.

The 66-year-old music icon released her eighth solo studio album in October, amid her band’s grand On with the Show world tour. And she has described what it’s like to have former bandmate Christine McVie back on the team.

“It’s not the boys’ club anymore,” she explained to Access Hollywood. “Now Christine and Stevie are back to being their very ‘force of nature’ selves.”

Stevie also spoke about what it was like when Christine quit the band back in 1998, after being with them for 30 years. With the gender balance very male heavy, things apparently lost their feminine touch.

“We’re in touch with our feminine selves again. Without her it became very masculine,” she said.

Fleetwood Mac is known not only for their trail of smash hits over their active years, but also their drama. Stevie famously dated their guitarist Lindsey Buckingham for numerous years.

Their relationship was notoriously reflected in their 1977 album Rumours. Stevie says although it’s all in the past, she hasn’t forgotten how it felt.

“It doesn’t still hurt but it’s still reality. It’s still real,” she told the outlet.

Stevie’s latest solo album is called 24 Karat Gold: Songs from the Vault. According to her, it’s filled with tracks that never quite made the final cut of her previous albums.

“These are the golden songs,” she smiled. “These are the songs that should have gone on many different records from 1975 up, and didn’t for many reasons.”

Any hopes for a Europe tour? :')

Edit: Omg that interviewer lolll

Stevie Nicks: I don't want to take a year off, because I will slow down and stop. I want to tour after Fleetwood Mac.

Interviewer: So in your year off you want to work on the musical?

Stevie Nicks: No.

LOL

Stevie's very "no nonsense"-style. I like that.
