What can we do to help promote this masterpiece?

Any ideas? This album has to be heard. It is excellent and people will like it.

Is there some way we can help Stevie?

Something like "Pre-order Fleetwood Mac's Gypsy songbird Stevie Nicks' new album of songs she wrote long ago but never had the chance to record until now"

Seriously though...the more I think about it, besides the suggestions listed on this thread, the old fashioned way couldn't hurt...call or email your local AAA, Rock, or AC radio station, especially if they play any of the album. Tell them you want to hear Stevie's new album, or you really like the new SN song they played. Even though there is much to be said for social media, etc., radio (standard or satellite) still has an impact.

You could tweet Liz and suggest that "Camp Stevie/ WB" do a "Paid Promotion" on twitter that would put "24 Karat Gold" on possibly millions of twitter timelines...

It already looks like this is going to be Stevie's most high-profile album in decades, and hopefully that will result high chart success. Grass root efforts from fans will push it further. Social media seems to best way to reach large a demographic of people who aren't yet aware that they would appreciate and want this album!

If you have the means, buy a lot of albums and give them as gifts to associates, friends and family. When possible, broadcast the album anywhere you can to catch the ears of unsuspecting friends and strangers.

You could tweet Liz (Stevie, Cher, Madonna's, etc.) publicist and ask her what she suggests.

Yeah, Liz Rosenberg Media has been doing a pretty consistent job on Facebook and Twitter. However, it's clear that Warner Brothers is handling the official Stevie accounts, because they're not updated nearly as regularly.

This also is the first time that Stevie is releasing an album as a tour with Fleetwood
Mac starts and no new MAC album. This alone will make a big difference in the sales.

Warner Brothers is a large media conglomerate. Liz is one media guru. May want to check with both.;)

Lady Antebellum has 2.1 million followers on twitter. "Camp Stevie" would be wise to get them to tweet about "Blue Water" and how much they adore Stevie Nicks and loved working with her.

I wasn't talking about calling pop radio stations, but AAA radio stations have been sampling her new songs. If that's the case in your city, you can contact them. Also, if you have Sirius/XM radio, the Loft has been playing Starshine and 24 Karate...they just did again last night. Tell them you want to hear more Stevie. Trust me, I've been in marketing and PR for 30 years...Tweets, blogs, websites are so important, but the old way of promoting new music is still relevant. AAA radio stations are playing new Tom Petty, Jackson Browne, U2, etc...they can play Stevie.

I'm now envisioning driving around with the windows rolled down and the album on max volume in my car stereo. Picture me circling blocks and I don't know, spray painting my car to say "BUY STEVIE NICKS' NEW ALBUM!" Or I don't know, carrying around one of those 1980s boom boxes on my shoulders walking down busy city streets. Sound like a plan? ;)

As far as YouTube goes, I was thinking, younger folks at least so all kinds of videos (and some make serious money this way) where they basically sit and talk to the camera and review all sorts of things- books and make up are what I watch mostly. I've seen people dodo tests even for review videos. So instead of a commercial what about doing maybe a 5 minute video where someone whose very interesting to listen to with decent camera equipment talks about WHY the album is so great and worth buying and plays several song clips? If you're charismatic enough or even just straight up passionate enough about the music, I would think it could do well, better even than a commercial. Plus I don't know about the rest of you but whenever I'm on YouTube I always end up clicking the links to other videos and Youtubes algorithm would probably show a link to the review video to anyone listening to Stevie or Mac songs/ live performance recordings but perhaps also to people watching random review videos. I suspect if you searched YouTube for album reviews you would find examples of what I'm talking about. And of course down in the section below the video where you describe the content you'd want to link to Amazon, WB, iTunes so people could buy right away.

Unfortunately my computer is currently broken or I've done a few videos and would highly consider doing this. Maybe if I can borrow a laptop from a friend I could try. Anyone else interested? I don't have many subscribers but should I actually find a way to do it, I would happily allow those of you with Stevie related channels to upload it to hopefully get more views. Just thinking it would be awhile before I could find the means unfortunately. Anyone else up for it? Might be cool if we got several people to do it and then either split up which songs each person samples in their video or just have everyone pick their favorites.

I think Stevie should open for Fleetwood Mac and sing Lady. And they should sell the CDs at the show.

This was suggested in the other forum a few months ago and as you can expect it went over rather badly...Personally I think it's a great idea considering the fact that Stevie gave up a 24K tour so FM could quickly cash in on Christine's return but the Rumours crowd will have none of it...

I don't know--maybe buy two or three copies and give them out to a couple of friends, and see what their response is. Do they have an interest in it? You have the background on the songs, you've seen the interviews. Other people will listen and wonder what this stuff is. "Watch Chain?" "The Dealer? Is that like the Kenny Rogers song?"

But more to what you are hoping to do, I think: I remember when TISL came out there were some video promotions done by fans here where they played a bunch of Stevie videos at a club and gave out Stevie and Fleetwood Mac promo items. Grass roots are where this album might catch on a bit, but maybe not. Give it to your friends and see how they react.

Stevie wrote on the album, "These songs are for you." I take it to mean it's for the seriously devoted fans, not necessarily the average joe/public--personal items stored in the attic that "family" might appreciate or want to have. I don't see a lot of the folks at work wanting the deluxe package we have, the polaroid self pics, the poster etc. I wanted it. I doubt my neighbor would!

I'm sure Stevie would have none of it. She's not interested in performing before a 2 hour Fleetwood Mac show.

I agree. She's thrilled to give up the burden of performing with FM with just two singers. Having Christine back is a blessing. She's not about to haul her solo band around the country either. She sees her solo career and FM as 2 distinct entities. Solo is the OTHER side of the mirror.

Do absolutely nothing.
It's a great album.
Stevie doesn't need the money.
People who want to hear it, will.
She's about as iconic and well known as any rock star.
She has soared way past Janis Joplin and all who came after her.
If it doesn't sell, it's a reflection on the music business; not the artist.

And besides, if you look at the overwhelming majority of music that does
sell well these days, you have to admit that Stevie Nicks doesn't belong amongst
those "artists".
Great singers and songwriters these days rarely crack the top 10.
I think its better that way.
