"We tried doing this song on stage one night and It was such a disaster that we never did it again" She says this around 1:21 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f10b9Ju_fCo)

I have like 30 different live recordings of I Can't Wait live from the Rock A Little tour. So why lie stevie?

She probably doesn't recall the other 29. Haha. Honestly, it was a bad era for her personally and I think she says somewhere that she didn't remember much of the tour. Or was it a different tour she doesn't recall? Idk. I, on the other hand, LOVE the "Rock-A-Little" album and thought that tour was good because of its rawness.

So why lie stevie?

I don't believe it's intentional at all. As f2theox said, I think she really doesn't remember that tour very well. And, unlike us, she doesn't sit around listening to dozens of bootlegs. So while she remembers the fact that they did it, the rest might very well be a haze.

By saying one time she ment one tour. I'm sure she remembers doing it several times. I can't wait only got played during rock a little tour

Hasn't Stevie said before that she doesn't remember a lot of the late 80's due to the coke/klonopin addictions?

But she says one night. Also she says her "beautiful, long, silky hair" is much better than her shaggy permed hair. She totally ADORES herself!!She doesn't need us - she is her biggest fan.

I can personally attest that she performed it at the Costa Mesa and San Diego shows on the RAL tour since I was there..and I agree the song does not translate well live.

The few live recordings that I've heard didn't sound that bad.

This is a pretty good live version from Iowa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySDgWajPyPE
I wish there were more recordings and footage, that hand-dance from the video she does looks so cool imo.

3:55 to 4:12 is my favorite part. It's what me and my closest friends have for years dubbed "the Stevie Shuffle". She also does it at one point during the end credits of the Red Rocks DVD. Hilarious! And I love how the audience goes WILD as she does it!

That quote always bothered me, because anyone who attended shows on that tour knows otherwise. We should all know by now not to expect Stevie to be very accurate when it comes to remembering details of her past. It's not a deliberate lie; it's just her re-imagined memory of events.

Ledgies know the facts of her career better than she does. Much like rediscovering her songs on YouTube, I'd suggest to her to visit The Ledge if she wants to reference her past in accurate detail.

I can also attest - ICW does look and sound good live :). Now, later in the tour, maybe a little less.

She might not be saying she only tried it once. I listened to the commentary again, and I think she might actually be saying something like, "and this one time, at RAL tour camp, I Can't Wait was so bad that we never performed it live again." :D

In other words, there was one particular performance that was so bad, because of how difficult it is, that they nicksed (ha!) it from the set.

I would love to hear ICW live now on tour.I think if she gives it a shot today with all of todays digital goodies in instruments and digital synth keyboards available and it should sound awesome without having a truckload of equipment to work with like in the 1980's.

You're very good at twisting her quote into reason! But I think the song was in the set for the whole tour. Maybe she was so whacked out on that tour that she just doesn't want to remember. There are performances where she kind of loses her way in the song, but that was her issue, not the band. The song is no more complex than any other song. Maybe she says this because she just doesn't want to perform it anymore. It was a big hit, yet it became a one-tour song.

Right, I think she finds it difficult for some reason, maybe the drum sequencing trips her up or something. She probably got lost in it one night, and felt like it was far worse than it actually was. It looks like the last time she played it was actually in 1989 - she closed her set in Toronto (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/stevie-nicks/1989/cne-grandstand-toronto-on-canada-3d27193.html) with it.

The last time she played it on the Rock A Little tour was 10/6/86, in Sydney, Australia (http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/stevie-nicks/1986/sydney-entertainment-centre-sydney-australia-1bdb31a4.html).

I thought I heard her talk about this somewhere other than the commentary, and though it's a fuzzy memory, I thought she was talking about a time long after the RAL tour. In other words, she did it on that tour because it was one of the album's hit singles, but years later she tried to do it again and it was too hard, so it never made it into another set.

Nope, that set is completely wrong. On 8/17/89 she played:

Outside the Rain
Dreams
Rooms on Fire
Gold Dust Woman
Alice
No Spoken Word
How Still My Love
Beauty and the Beast
Juliet
Talk to Me
Whole Lotta Trouble
Two Kinds of Love
Edge of Seventeen
Stand Back
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You

I think if she had done it again, her Street Angel Tour voice would have been perfect. If only she had included it in that set...

You should grab your source and go change it on setlistfm, because the people on there have reverted it due to a lack of sourcing for your list, and it's better to have the right one. Posted. ;)

Wow, that set is all over the place. "Long Way To Go", "The Nightmare" and "Fire Burning" have never been performed live. "Outside The Rain" is ALWAYS followed by "Dreams" - the 2 run into eachother. "Edge of Seventeen" has never been an encore song. It's always the main set closer.

I love that set! I wish she'd kept it like that for the whole tour instead of dropping "Talk To Me" and "Juliet".

I wish I would have had any way of getting to see her on this tour, but I was 12, and my "rock-is-satan"-believing folks were not about to pay for that. The settlists from RAL and TOSOTM read like a list of things I missed out on. :(

I wasn't even born and only ever got to see Stevie solo when she played a 1 hour set at Hard Rock Calling fesitval in Hyde Park in 2011. Stevie hasn't toured the UK/Europe solo since 1989. Fortunately, I got to meet her, so that made up for the lack of touring, but DAMN IT woman, play the UK once in a while :(

I saw her on the Enchanted tour, and the Stevie Nicks & Friends thing she did with Sheryl Crow, Don Henley, Mick Fleetwood, & Chris Isaak. And I saw FM on the Unleashed tour. I'm hoping to catch both again within the next 2-3 years, finances permitting.

I wonder if Stevie will ever tour the UK solo again. I bet she could sell out decent sized venues seeing as she hasn't done any proper tour here since 1989. I think people would jump at the chance to see her solo.

It would be cool to hear about her doing a world tour again. I remember in an interview before IYD came out, that she said it had a lot to do with album sales, whether promoters came out to set up shows. That will be difficult any way you cut it with the FM tours coming up, though.

I consider myself lucky to have seen her on this tour before she dropped Talk to Me and Juliet. Juliet was very memorable; the end "the sky is crying" part was extended a bit with a percussion solo, with the band members all gathered up front, sort of like a drum circle. I thought it was a very cool, lively thing to do It was a highlight of the show, so I couldn't believe they had dropped it.

Yeah, that's part of why I included the one from the RAL tour too. But apparently someone is adamant enough about the setlist that they've reverted changes made to it. Why anyone would add those to some random show in Canada from the 80s is particularly weird to me.

This is wrong too. She never did Rhiannon on the OSOTM tour, only sang the first line. Also, Stand Back was moved in between BATB and WLT.

She rehearsed Long Way to Go and Ooh My Love, but they didn't make it :-(
