So far, a rock-solid 5-star review. I realize that's only from about 30 ratings, but that's a good start. :)

The Dealer has jumped in 10's on the UK iTunes Rock Songs chart since this morning going from #50 to #40 and is currently sitting at #30 which I find amazing considering it hasn't been played at all yet on radio here. The deluxe album is at #49 on the Rock Albums chart. What about the US?

I think that's really amazing. I wasn't expecting positions as high as that. I think all of this social media and pre-order stuff will make this album chart high in October. I'm expecting good things!!! :D

Looks like The Dealer is within the top 10 of the US iTunes Rock Songs chart which is really good and the album is within the top 40 of the normal albums chart which is AMAZING!!!

if this album is really successful and puts Stevie back on the map as a big solo artist, do you all think she will be tempted to leave FM?

I would have agreed with you had Christine not just returned to the band. I think Stevie will be much more happily dedicated to Fleetwood Mac now that Chris is back in the picture. Not that she will abandon her solo career... but I have a feeling Stevie will want to spend some good time with the band now that they're all back together after nearly 2 decades, combined with John's bout with cancer, etc.

Stevie has or will have toured with FM in 2013, 2014 and 2015 I don't see her doing a 4th year in a row with FM...After the 2015 tour she will take a few years off...

Her solo career was huge in the eighties; she didn't leave Fleetwood Mac then. She's not going to leave now, even if her album is her biggest solo success in years (which I think it will be). Even though I think Fleetwood Mac's days are numbered, Stevie will be with them until the end.

Your favorite TV shows gets axed because the handful of people with their people TV meters are watching some crap program which you dont like.Rant over.LOL.....
Thats great the numbers so far looking good for Stevie.
She will kick a$$ with some of those young artists out of the way on the charts and show them what is good music.
I wonder if any of the album will see radio airplay.

Judging from the already impressive pre-order chart positions both in the UK and US, I think this album will chart within the top 5 and top 10 of the US and UK respectively. I can't believe an album only available for pre-order can reach the top 40 of the main iTunes album chart (in the US that is). That is AMAZING. Is there anyone else who is surprised by this fantastic response?

Well to be fair, Dreams was the highest charting single from Rumours here in the UK but it still only reached #24. However, it did lurk around in the top 30 for a while and people tended to buy the whole album and didn't really bother with the singles so that's why it only ever got to that position. If the Rumours album only had a few good tracks then Dreams would've reached a lot higher. The same can be said for GYOW, DS and YMLF.

I want this album to do really well but it needs a more contemporary and commercial single for it to REALLY get somewhere. I think the best strategy for this album is to see how far The Dealer gets, whether it charts at all and if not the album will already have a great first week sales figure which is when the second single should be released. Stevie can then promote that single on all of the shows and stuff she'll be doing around the time of the albums release which will lead to a decent second week sales figure which is something that many artists don't have. Nowadays, a lot of top 10 debuts plummet fast but luckily Stevie has never really suffered with that, even with IYD which dropped only 10 places in its second week which isn't bad at all and something that a lot of artists really wouldn't mind in today's music industry.

Also, there's more than 60 days worth of pre-orders before the album actually goes on sale so if the album could manage 250 on average being pre-ordered a day in the US that's about 15,000 before the physical CD hits the stores and the album is released!! Hopefully the pre-orders don't fall off the iTunes chart otherwise we'll still be relying on people buying thousands of copies in the all important first week!!!

Anyone who is speculating if Stevie will quit Fleetwood Mac clearly doesn't understand the love/hate relationship she has with the band. Don't forget that Lindsey quit the band in 1987, and Stevie left around 1992. But they both eventually returned. Their solo careers, in tandem with the band, are mutually beneficial. Fleetwood Mac is their musical home, despite the occasional emotional dysfunction.
At this latter stage in their careers, Stevie and Lindsey will be part of Fleetwood Mac until the end. They maintain a healthy creative tension between the two of them, and with the wisdom of age, they aren't as fickle as some would like to think they are.

I think it's pretty common for an artist like Stevie and that with being a bit older than today's pop culture of music, that she may have a strong start but will steadily decline over the weeks. Considering that this is just a single it's really no surprise that it held for about a week. I don't see her really promoting the hell out of this project, she's pretty much dedicated it to the fans. It's a good boost of sales for FM albums too, and I'm sure she's making bank just fine.
When the album comes out itself I think it'll hold a bit longer in the charts.

Tbh, I would prefer a really strong debut over a long stay in the top 40. But I don't know how those numbers translate to Stevie. Tom Petty debuted at number 1 on the US 200 charts. It would be really cool to see Stevie have a strong debut as well.

I would prefer that too. Petty's 'Hypnotic Eye' debuted with sales of 131,000 which is amazing but that's including sales from concert ticket purchases or something. Apparently though 'Hypnotic Eye' is going to take a battering in its second week as according to Hits DD it's going to be at #7 when the Billboard 200 is published on sales of 32,000 which is a colossal 75% drop in sales.
A #5 placing for Stevie would be great on sales of around 40,000. Maybe it could sell more, I don't know. I think when The Voice is aired and we see what promotion the album is getting then we can guess more accurately as to what the album will do chart position and sales wise. I just think that with the numerous formats of the album and with an ever increasing number of fans (also social media), the album will do well.
How fantastic would it be if Stevie could reach the top 3 in the US for the first time since 1981? :blob2:

TP & The Heartbreakers tied each concert ticket sold with a free download of "Hypnotic Eye." I bought two tickets for his upcoming tour and got two download links. Madonna did the same with her last record, MDNA. Technically, I consider this sorta cheating, but I guess it's allowed. Madonna, too, sufferred a colassal 80+% drop in her 2nd week sales of MDNA. And her album barely passed gold sales in the U.S. It wouldn't even have achieved "gold" status if she didn't initially tie record sales to her concert ticket sales. I doubt that "Hypnotic Eye" will even go gold. Consider that only 4-5 records have sold "gold" in the U.S. so far in 2014! There are far more platinum singles than record/albums than ever before.
So with the music industry sales in the toilet, Stevie should be proud if she even comes close to IYD sales. Yeah, her celebrity profile is bigger than ever, but that doesn't necessarily translate to bigger record sales. See Madonna & Cher's recent records. Though, don't feel sorry for Stevie, she's made it to the top of the mountain. Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, or even older rock stars peers; Debbie Harry, Pat Benatar, Heart, etc., would kill to have Stevies legacy and star profile. No doubt, Stevie is the long distant winner!.
24 Karat Gold will debut in the Top 10. And possibly even debut #1 without cheating. The Rock 'n' Roll HOF will have a hard time denying her induction as a solo artist after 24 Karat Gold.

Exactly. The headline 'Stevie's highest chart position since 1981' would be fantastic and she doesn't exactly have to bend over backwards to get it. This weeks #4 album has sold less than 40,000 and I know it isn't like that every week but on average it is. She only needs to sell around 20,000 to make the top 10 for God's sake.
I'm surprised by how many people think this album is going to do rather well and will debut high. Optimism is what's needed and we'll hopefully see the results in October!

I thought Prince was the first one to do this many years ago, and that it was no longer allowed to influence the charts. The rationale is that people BOUGHT the concert ticket but were GIVEN the album, so it's not a fair representation to make it seem like the album is selling more than it is.

#63 on the US iTunes Top 100 Songs
This is so great! I'm from the UK so I can update the UK charts but not the US so people from the US keep updating!
"Lady" has moved down from #63 to #64 on the US iTunes Top 100 Songs

I wonder if Lady has hit up the charts due to all the pre-orders? Meaning, the song is now distributed suddenly to all pre-order purchases. I should expect the same for the other tracks that drop.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. It would make sense, since everyone who pre-ordered is now suddenly getting the single....We'll see where it goes in the next couple of days.

I can't believe it made the top 100 though, top 75 even. That's incredible for her. I'm sure 'Secret Love' didn't reach as high as that initially. I know it'll probably have disappeared from the top 100 by tomorrow just like 'The Dealer' disappeared from the Rock Songs chart but it's still an achievement. All we need now is airplay to sustain its success!

'Starshine' is #1 on the US iTunes Rock Songs chart and #36 on the main US top 100! Great news! It's also at #6 on the UK iTunes Rock Songs chart which is also great. :)

Itunes files means nothing to me .Its not the physical product. but its great for Stevie is on top.
Thats great Stevie is climbing overs these young artists on Itunes.
I would like to know how she will do when the physical album is release.
I have a feeling that 24K will do better then IYD with all of this positive info we are getting.

I agree Skip. I think IYD is a more cohesive, more intricately produced album and theoretically should have received a better reception BUT 24 Karat has certainly built more momentum and excitement with all the social media promo, and therefore may make a bigger splash. It really might totally change her mindset about social media and encourage her to do another "vault songs" album, considering she can do it quick and fairly effortlessly, and still receive attention and accolades (and hopefully make money off it to, as a "big act" liker herself expects to. (>her words, not mine!)

Positive reviews in the press will also help sell the album. I hope the record will get a lot of good press. I would love to see her on the cover of Rolling Stone again and other prominent rags. She's earned the rite to be lauded by the masses.
The singles have gotten good press. I've read "The Dealer" referred to as a "slice right out of 70s Fleetwood Mac", "Lady" was on the Entertainment Weekly "Hit List" at #5, and I'm betting "Starshine" will garner good press as well.

Her album is currently #22 on the Amazon charts (and it's been consistently hovering there for a while). I think 24KG is poised to chart really high upon release.

It depends on what's released in that week. I do think it'll chart high though. :)

Yeah, I don't think it is doing that well on iTunes. Nobody is playing a single in America though. Great songs but her record company needs to get someone play them.

It did however reach #3 on the US Amazon albums chart (currently at #5) and is also at #5 on the Amazon digital albums chart which is very good. I'm expecting a strong first week sales figure for the album. It's doing really well!

I think her record company knows they got something but there is a lot of ageism in the industry.

I bought it on Amazon. It's much cheaper than iTunes - only $7 for the deluxe version MP3.
