It's not that Stevie is less ambitious than Madonna! They are different people! Stevie is not a social media maven by any means. I respect that about her; she makes herself available on her own terms. Sometimes less is more; I rather have Stevie stay somewhat elusive, retaining her mystery and allure. By 'old woman' I really meant it more in the 'old fashioned' sense. Joan Rivers is...well...certainly not old fashioned. :laugh:

Stevie once said, perhaps around the time of In Your Dreams, something about how it used to be that Tower Records would have a huge billboard of her album cover, and that without such things, she didn't understand how people were supposed to know about her album. Perhaps it is sinking in that we are living in the age of self-promotion via social media.

Yeah, strategy wise, that's one of the best times to post things on social media for the highest organic reach. Keep in mind, they're (hopefully) thinking of more casual fans and not the die-hards like us, who will only check Instagram a couple of times a day. They missed the lunch hour on the east coast and are coming off it on west coast time, so that seems like a safe bet.

I'm still thinking we won't see anything until 5pst/8est like the first image on the account. They haven't turned off the location settings, so it traces back to the Warner Bros. offices in LA. Sadly, I don't think this is high on their list of priorities.

I'm in total shock. I've just seen the album cover which is STUNNING and the track listing which looks as though The Dealer is the first single and is going to be available straight away. I don't really need anything on Instagram. That's made my day!!! :]

Everybody probably knows this but you can listen to "The Dealer" clip in iTunes even if you live in the US by scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking the US flag icon on the right and switching it to Australia. Then search for the album. You can't buy it but at least you can listen to the preview. Do the same to switch back.

I don't know how to do this on a mobile device but that's how to on a desktop or laptop.

Well, since the proportions are right, it doesn't look photoshopped to me, but it's not good the way her body is turned one way and her head another. It's like one of the outtakes from a photo shoot that you don't use.

On the other hand, even if the photos are bad, if they recall the era, the hair, the fashion, the make up (that eyeliner can make you look high even if you weren't), that was in at the time, I guess there's something genuine about them that should be preserved as archival, rather than denied.

Speaking of that, I wish we had a little more info on how the preorder is going to work - I need to kind of have a plan because I will likely be at work when it becomes available. No you're not. It's Tuesday now here in the UK and the album is available on iTunes for pre-order as well as The Dealer which you can buy straight away which is great, but when I looked on Amazon, you can only pre-order the digital copy and there is no sign of any CD copy, never mind a vinyl one. I'll just have to wait I guess. Anyway, it's gone midnight now so I'd better get some sleep!!! :nod:

I totally love her vocal quality on this snippet. IMHO her older, more mature, trained voice is better for this song now. I'm kind of surprised she's hitting some of the higher notes without too much strain. Nice Job!

If you're referring to Moe Sizlack's list, then yeah...he admitted that he made it up. The other two were listed on her wiki then taken down shortly thereafter. Dave Stewart even said the first one was bogus last week.

If you're talking about the list posted today, however, you can verify that yourself through Amazon and iTunes, you just have to go to the regions where it's already after midnight. That list is definitely correct.

Btw, You have to uncheck download with the downloader (if that shows up?) if that's what you're referring to but that seems pretty obvious.

Yup. I was really, really hoping we'd get a little more of a preview of something that we hadn't already bought, but my cynicism was once again rewarded with being exactly f'ing right. :/ But, as someone else said, got the single, got the tracklist, ordered the album... I don't actually have anything to complain about... I guess. But I'm going to complain anyway, because I feel like she could have just announced all of this once and saved everyone the wtf-edness of the whole fiasco.
