Hello all---
Apologies if this has already been shared. I've got a friend who's a music writer/critic at a major US newspaper, and he received the official news release for 24 KARAT GOLD - SONGS FROM THE VAULT this morning. Here it is. I'm also attaching the promo photo.
Just as some of us figured, she's clearly using the reunion tour to promote the record. Smart lady.
Cheers,
matt

Matt do you have a link for the press release?
It is way sooner than I personally expected.
But the LP dropping over a week before the CD? That doesn't make much sense. And where are the links to the preorder? Where is the link to the press release? Where is the track listing- aren't those normally included in press releases? Something is amiss...

I am searching everywhere to find this. ET Canada tweeted this information with the picture, so that gives it some credibility. But I can't find an actual press release anywhere. Not having the tracklisting isn't that odd -- but I agree that releasing the LP more than a week before on a Monday seems strange.

Also, assuming it is correct, we have two tracks written in 1995 and 1996. Any guesses?

Tom Petty is doing almost the same thing...
Pre-orders for "Hypnotic Eye" are being taken with downloads available on 7/29 in mp3 & FLAC also pre-orders get you 5 tracks for instant download before the release date...If you order the "LP" it seems to be shipped at a later date...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Preorder 'Hypnotic Eye' in 180g limited edition double vinyl & get the album in MP3 & FLAC delivered this Tuesday at <a href="http://t.co/An8YCihL2f">http://t.co/An8YCihL2f</a></p>— Tom Petty (@tompetty) <a href="https://twitter.com/tompetty/statuses/492017649635708929">July 23, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Stevie's press release says pre-orders on August 5th which is the same day her twitter says "24 karat gold" updates will start showng up on her new instagram...

As for the CD perhaps they are trying to push the LP or don't expect sales to be as great for the CD as they do for the LP hence the later CD ship date...
Don't forget that Stevie's people are still in the stone age when it come to promotion via social media/internet...

No mystery at all - this strategy is designed to sell more copies and extend first week sales to a two week period. Record collectors and hard core fans will buy the LP first, causing the album to chart, then the casuals, and the hard cores again go buy the CD for the bonus tracks a week later, hopefully causing a rise in chart postition.

Yeah, "Space Needle" and "Have No Heart" are the two that come to mind.
I pretty much figured they'd release it on the 7th. They'll be playing NYC ~ it's the perfect opportunity to promote it on the Today Show , Good Morning America and all those other entertainment programs filmed there. Plus Mick's new book comes out that Thursday the 9th.

From ABC news radio...
Stevie Nicks 24 Karat Gold (http://abcnewsradioonline.com/music-news/2014/7/24/stevie-nicks-to-release-new-album-24-karat-gold-songs-from-t.html)
Stevie Nicks hinted earlier this year that she might release some older songs that had never seen the light of day. Now, she's making good on that tease: her new album 24 Karat Gold -- Songs from the Vault is due October 7.
According to Stevie, the album features mostly songs written between 1969 and 1987, with two that were written in 1994 and 1995. "Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story," she says in a statement. "They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken-hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories -- the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you."
The artwork for the album includes never-before-seen Polaroid photos taken by Stevie throughout her career.
24 Karat Gold -- Songs from the Vault is available for pre-order starting August 5. That same day, Stevie will debut her new, official Instagram account, StevieNicksOfficial, where she'll begin previewing snippets of the music.
In addition, a limited edition double vinyl version of 24 Karat Gold -- Songs from the Vault will come out September 29. Also available will be a Deluxe Photobook CD, which will include two bonus tracks, as well as 48 pages of exclusive photos from Stevie's personal collection.

Things are getting really exciting!!! Barring the unreleased track list, we're all pretty much getting everything we want as far as formats ~ regular CD, Vinyl, a Deluxe Edition with two bonus tracks (that kind of leads me to believe that the actual CD/vinyl will only have 14 tracks, since Dave keeps saying that 16 were recorded).
We're getting 48 pages of rare photos and in less than 2 weeks, we're going to be getting REAL song snippits, and not just muffled studio videos.
But the thing that makes me really excited is the fact that we're basically getting the album on September 29th ~ just two months and 5 days away! CRAZY!
Stevie, honey, PLEASE continue to record all your forthcoming projects in this fashion. April to September. Six months from start to public release. That's a new record!

Seems like we will get the entire tracklisting on August 5th (including bonus tracks.) Unless they have the complete links up at online retailers when the double LP drops Sept. 29th! This is beyond! I think I'm more excited for this release than I was for IYD!

Am I the only person who doesn't like the title?
I'm not sure I like the whole concept of this being all songs "from the vault". I think I'd prefer if she just promoted this as a new album that just happened to be made up of many songs written throughout her career.
I like the polariod/photo album concept though - maybe a title linked to that theme would have been more appropriate

I think it's horrendous- Songs From The Vault makes you think it's some sort of Standards album. Makes me think of Rod Stewart & his American Songbook albums. 24 Karat Gold makes it sound self-aggrandizing as well. I'm just not a fan of the title in any way. :sorry:
That being said, as long as the music is good, I won't care. :)

Stevie Nicks may have spent much of 2013 touring with Fleetwood Mac and celebrating the 35th anniversary of the group's landmark LP Rumours, but the frontwoman still found time to record a solo LP. 24 Karat Gold — Songs from the Vault will see release on October 7th via Warner Bros, though vinyl lovers will be able to pick up a limited edition double LP a week earlier starting September 29th.
Stevie Nicks' Life in Photos
The LP follows Nicks' 2011 solo effort, In Your Dreams, and was produced by herself, Dave Stewart and guitarist Waddy Wachtel. Recorded in Nashville and Los Angeles, 24 Karat Gold comprises songs that Nicks wrote primarily between 1969 and 1987, plus two that were penned in 1994 and 1995. In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Nicks said she was inspired to reimagine these older tracks after stumbling across a slew of the original bootlegs on YouTube. "[W]e found all the songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever," she said, adding: "I call them my 24 karat gold songs."
In a statement, Nicks said: "Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story. They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories — the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you."
The 24 Karat artwork will feature never-before-seen Polaroids taken by Nicks throughout her career, while the deluxe photobook CD boasts 48 pages of pictures from her private collection alongside two bonus tracks. Pre-orders for 24 Karat start on August 5th, and that same day, Nicks will begin previewing the album on her official new Instagram account.
Along with the release of 24 Karat, Nicks' fall will be dominated by another Fleetwood Mac tour, this one reuniting the group with keyboardist and singer Christine McVie, who left the band in 1998. The On With the Show tour kicks off on Tuesday, September 30th in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Target Center and wraps up 34 shows later on December 20th at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa Bay, Florida...

I figured there was talk about the new SN album in her forum. Since the news release mentions FM a couple of times and even concludes with a quote from Stevie about Christine's return, I thought it was of interest to post it on the Rumours forum.
For me, the most interesting thing about this news isn't the new album at all [I'm not really a Stevie solo fan]---it's how she's using the reunion tour to market her new album.
Since we now know that the album is intended to fulfill a contractual obligation, that makes it a little easier to swallow the timing of its release. It's still a shame that Stevie wasn't able to participate in the recording sessions, but then, maybe that was for the best. It gave Lindsey and Christine a chance to reconnect, and based on what we know, that was worth goal in terms of the number of songs they've started.

Vinyl is so big at the moment, so making it only a limited edition on vinyl is a big mistake. What do they mean by limited edition. 1000 copies? 5000 copies? They should just make the album on vinyl like they do with CD. That way, the album will sell even more copies. Also, why would you release a limited edition album on vinyl one week previous to the CD and digital release? This can only lead to a poor first week debut for the album. Why not just release all formats at the same time and get a top 5 placing? That would be fantastic for Stevie.

It is a new album! It features songs she wrote but never released. All were demo songs that lingered in limbo. She decided to revisit them, record them and officially release them, gathered together as an album.
Fleetwood Mac is still in the recording phase of their new album. Stevie will absolutely will be participating, after all, she is part of the band! But she's been busy recording her new album, a project planned long before Christine unexpectedly rejoined. Lindsey and Christine are just getting the ball rolling on an album no one never expected.

I think it would be really cool if the album cover were one of the old Polaroid pictures, with her name and the album title written underneath on the white section where most of us labeled our Polaroids back in the day. Very retro. :D

It's amazing that people are still pointing the finger at Stevie for the way the FM tour and record are happening

I think FM were given a choice either tour with a new Stevie Nicks album or not tour at all...I absolutely think Stevie will promote 24 Karat in each city FM plays...Maybe there will be tracks from 24 Karat Gold playing in the venue before the FM show starts (would be a smart move) combined with little kiosks where you can purchase "24 Karat"

I would love to see photos from recording sessions in the studio/recording the demos at home, etc. She could drop some hints about who songs are about by including some pics of her with various luvahs… now THAT would be fun. Maybe "Camp Stevie" will actually make an effort and stay on top of things and make good use of social media for promotion this time...

I think the title is fine - it fits with what it is. I really hope the cover photo is decent though. I wasn't crazy about the warped imsge of her on the IYD album.
I'm so excited about this!! Gotta go shop online for a record player. I knew there was a reason I saved a lot of my old vinyls. :)

me too. I bet it will be an old pic of her...I just have a feeling they're gonna use of her polaroids, which may be lovely but I feel the cover should represent present day Stevie.

This press release made my day!! I like the title 24 Karat - Songs From The Vault - simple description of the cd's content. I am going to pre-order the CD, the Deluxe CD with bonus tracks and the LP (I too don't have a player for it) but will be looking into getting one. Just so thrilled she decided to complete all these great demos for her fans.

I am beyond thrilled that we are getting another brand new solo album from her. Couldn't be happier, however, I HATE that FM is touring during its release! I want her to go out on her own and tour behind it! It's not going to get the momentum IYD had, Stevie promoted the hell out of it.

Additionally, a Deluxe Photobook CD album will be available for fans, which includes two bonus tracks plus 48 pages of exclusive photos from Nicks’ personal photo collection. Squee! I cannot wait for this! From the few random Polaroids we have seen, this should be pretty spectacular.
Nicks, a multi-Grammy winning, multi-platinum and gold selling Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee also has a new official Instagram account – ‘stevienicksofficial’ where she will be previewing snippets of her new album each week beginning August 5th.
Well color me surprised.

Since we now know Stevie was planning this project before Christine's return changed things I wonder what her original plan was...
We know how quickly Stevie has worked to get this done so FM could tour this fall but how much was this project altered because of FM?
Was this going to be a box set comprised of 4 albums? The 2 24K albums we are now getting plus a 3rd that had the original demos on it and a 4th that had demos we have never heard...
If Stevie had not been rushed would the outcome had been any different?

When she put 'Enchanted' together, she said that selecting the songs felt like spreading old photographs across a table and reminiscing. This time around, it seems she's referencing going through your mother or grandmother's old jewelry box and finding forgotten heirlooms.

We don't know if all of the photos are going to be "selfies". I'd venture a guess that some might be pics of the Lori and Sharon, various musicians, Fleetwood Mac, pics of her home, the recording studio, fun "gag" shots, etc.

Just noticed that Fleetwood Mac are playing Madison Square Garden on October 6th and 7th. That will be BRILLIANT promotion for her album. If 20,000 people hear her say "My new album is out tomorrow" and "My new album is out today' then that will make the people who don't know about it aware of its release. I think if Stevie promotes '24 Karat' on the tour and on 'The Voice' and a lot of other TV shows as well as Fleetwood Mac's TODAY show concert, then the album should be a success. After all, 'In Your Dreams' didn't get this promotion, just a bunch of TV shows.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but one of the stupid little things I'm picky about....
I'm so, so excited for the photos, but I hope they're not mostly selfies (most of which I've seen are from the RAL/OSOTM era, which we all know wasn't the best of times...). I hope she doesn't use the press release photo as the album cover. I can't even believe she chose that to go out on a release. I don't know... in my opinion it just isn't the most flattering picture to choose. Is it just me or does she look kind of high? Given how many times she's spoken out about how she looks at these old pictures and only sees how high she was, I'm surprised. Thoughts?

Rock on, gold dust woman: Stevie Nicks’ new album drops Oct. 7 (http://www.axs.com/rock-on-gold-dust-woman-stevie-nicksy-new-album-drops-oct-7-15196)
Is anyone really surprised to learn that the high priestess of rock – a prolific and intuitive songwriter – has a secret stash of unreleased tunes that she’s compiled over the last five decades? Didn’t think so. With the July 24 announcement that her new album 24 Karat Gold – Songs From the Vault will be released on Oct. 7, Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks simply confirmed what millions of giddy fans already suspected – that thankfully the legendary artist is a “musical hoarder.”
Co-produced with Dave Stewart and her longtime guitarist, Waddy Wachtel, Nicks’ first album since 2011’s In Your Dreams features songs that she penned between ’69 and ’87 – much of it during the Mac’s heyday – as well as one from ‘94 and another from ‘95. With such a matchless creative legacy at the heart of the new record, 24 Karat Gold is sure to become Nicks’ sixth solo album to reach the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart, following the critically acclaimed In Your Dreams debut at No. 6.
In a statement, Nicks described the new album as only an affecting tunesmith could. “Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a story. They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories – the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box.” In addition to the new “old music,” the record will include “never-before-seen Polaroid photos taken by Nicks throughout her career” as well as photographs “from Nicks' personal photo collection.”
The celebrated rock goddess couldn’t have chosen a better name for the new effort, as everything “Queen Midas” touches seems to turn to gold – or platinum as the case may be. How she managed to record the new album in 2013 while touring with Fleetwood Mac on their 34-city Rumours 35th Anniversary Tour is a “mystery to me.” But the diminutive songstress – and expert in time management – has no doubt produced one for the ages.
The new album’s Oct. 7 release may present a few challenges for Nicks this time around as well, as Fleetwood Mac's On With the Show Tour – the band’s first with Christine McVie in over a decade – kicks off on Sep. 30 in Minneapolis and wraps up on Dec. 20 in Tampa. That means that fans of Nicks’ solo work will have to wait patiently for the tour in support of the new release. Of course, the iconic band will hopefully include a tune or two from the record as part of their setlist.
Fans can pre-order a limited edition double LP of 24 Karat Gold beginning Sep. 29 or wait until Aug. 5 to pre-order the CD. Nicks will begin previewing the album on her official Instagram account on Aug. 5 as well

The insider FM77 already stated over in the Rumours forum that this will never happen.
I didn't say never, but it is highly, highly unlikely. Number one, Stevie herself is reticent to do any "lesser" known songs in an FM set. She has had years of solo tours where she didn't do "old" lesser known songs in her OWN set list. We have all complained of this. She always says (thinks) FM fans come to see them (her) play the hits. She is right. Diehards like us disagree but we are not the majority. At this years ticket prices, I doubt she is going to mess with the formula. Second, Lindsey made a set-list for the tour months ago. It's not set in stone but I seriously doubt he put in any new Stevie songs. But you can count on Big Love and I'm So Afraid. Those aren't moving.
I promise you, Stevie does not want to play her new material that she is excited about with FM. She wants to play those songs with Waddy, Dave...her band, her way. Lindsey has no interest in promoting her solo record on the FM tour. Remember he hasn't even wanted to do a BN set when Christine wasn't touring with them. He believes a FM tour is FM only.

Finally some common sense on this subject. :) If ANY new songs are to be performed on this Mac tour, they would be culled from the tracks Lindsey & Christine cut for the new FLEETWOOD MAC album. Fleetwood Mac needs to build excitment for the new Mac album, NOT solo albums.
Between adding Christine's classic songs back into the setlist, and peppering in one or two lesser known album tracks (a hallmark of 21st century Mac tours), there won't be any room for Stevie's 24k Gold songs anyway. Nor would I want solo songs there. This tour is about the return of Christine & the classic Fleetwood Mac lineup, which has been dormant for nearly 2 decades.
I realize I'm dreaming big here, but what I'd love to see happen is for Stevie to do a small theater show in NY and showcase all the new songs... like she did at the Wiltern when In Your Dreams was released. That's where those songs deserve to be heard. With Waddy & Dave supporting her and Stevie's fans in attendance in an intimate setting. Not by those who just came to get drunk & pay $400 to hear Go Your Own Way.

If you remember Stevie was due to play Webster Hall in NYC on 5/4 2011(Webster Hall Thread) (http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/showthread.php?t=46445&highlight=webster) the day after "IYD" dropped on 5/3/2011 but all of her IYD release appearances were cancelled due to illness...Remember the Ledgies that were quite upset as they had traveled cross country for the Webster show?...The Wiltern show was a bit of a make up date of sorts for the Webster Hall date...So it's quite possible and probable that she will play a solo NYC date when the album drops maybe even have an album signing at a local record store...
Yes Stevie will use the FM tour to promote the hell out of "24K" and I wouldn't be surprised if the interviews she does while on tour with FM focus more on 24K than FM but what else is she supposed to do?
I guess she could wait until after the 2015 FM tour and use the upcoming 3 year break FM will have to tour "24K" but by then it will be almost 2 years old...

I remember the Webster Hall incident quite well. That's why I suggested Stevie should do a small NYC theater solo show. :) Plus, Fleetwood Mac will be performing in NYC on October 7th &8th- the same time 24k drops. Then Stevie has 2 days off before the next Mac show, so she could absolutely spend one of those nights doing a small solo show in NYC.
And I'm totally fine with Stevie talking about 24k during FM press interviews. I just feel strongly that FM shows, this tour in particular, should focus on the band itself vs solo projects.

Unfortunately, I think it's highly unlikely that Stevie will put on a solo show while touring with Fleetwood Mac. She's going to be way too busy to rehearse the new songs (while rehearsing for the Mac) and get a full show together. I just don't see this as a possibility. She may, however, do a talk show performance here or there (Letterman, Fallon, Today Show). And I bet she'll do lots of interviews. A CD signing in NYC and Boston is a great idea, too. But I don't see a solo show in the cards or any new solo songs being added to Fleetwood Mac's setlist. It would become too much about Stevie and I don't think she, or certain other band members, would want that.

My guess is that after the tour & the holidays, Fleetwood Mac will take a break for a month or two before going into the studio to record and finish the new album. I think Stevie will use that to her advantage to do a short US tour to properly promote "24 Karat Gold". After Fleetwood finishes recording the new record, and before its release date, I think Stevie will do a second leg. She's gonna be a busy gal for the rest of this year and all of next year. Just my speculation.

Haha sounds great, i just need to dust off the cobwebs from my 27 yr. old Marble base Kenwood turntable, the speakers are at least 4ft high lol, then I'll be ready too:D
Hell yes.
As for the rest of you buying record players, I hope you know what you're doing...If not, you may be terribly disappointed with the sound quality. For the best sound, you need a stereo receiver and a turntable with a pre-amp unless you also buy an amp, and speakers. Gosh, don't forget speakers. I just say this because so few people have actual stereo receivers with components anymore, and hooking a record player via USB to your computer is not going to give you great results.

Doubtful it would be any different. Box-set-four CDs? Wishful thinking, but maybe a little too ambitious. Many of her demos are rough, stalled works in progress; a lot of work would have to be done to bring them up to par, especially to fill a box set.

Stevie Nicks to release double album of songs from her past
The music on 24 Karat Gold – Songs from the Vault represents 'the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken-hearted and the survivors', Nicks says

Stevie Nicks has announced details of a new solo album comprised of songs written almost half a century ago. 24 Karat Gold – Songs from the Vault was inspired by Nicks' dozens of unreleased bootlegs, from which she recently rerecorded a selection of songs in Nashville.
"These songs are the memories – the 24-carat gold rings in the blue box," Nicks said. "Each song has a soul … They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken-hearted and the survivors."
Beloved as these songs may be to her, it appears Nicks lost track of them: the singer used YouTube to uncover unfinished material that was being traded by fans. "[They're] songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever," she told the Associated Press in May. Working with co-producers Waddy Wachtel and Dave Stewart, she laid down 18 old tracks in three quick weeks – the "fastest I have ever recorded".
Most of 24 Karat Gold was written between 1969 and 1987, with two more tunes from the mid-1990s. In keeping with the nostalgic theme, the album's artwork will be peppered with candid Polaroids of Nicks throughout her career. A deluxe version of the album includes 48 pages of pictures from the 66-year-old's private collection.
Although Nicks' new full-length is her first studio album since 2011, it seems to have been an obstacle to her work with Fleetwood Mac. Earlier this year, the group revealed that Nicks was absent from their own initial recording sessions. "There are parts for Stevie to sing on all of these songs, which she will do eventually," Christine McVie said. After a 19-year hiatus, McVie returned to Fleetwood Mac in January; they are staging a reunion tour this autumn, with an album expected next year.
24 Karat Gold will be released as a double vinyl LP on 29 September, with the regular version following on Warner Bros on 7 October.
I must of missed the small print on the earlier posts about a a doubly album.YIPPY:blob2::blob2::blob2::blob2::blob2:
I agree with KarmaContestant about the current crop of turntables. They are not as good as the old ones are.The best bet is head to your local fleamarkets, tag sales or Craigs list and find a dusty old one that works. With my experiences with the Rat Shack. I doubt that your local Rat Shack {Radio Shack} will have a replacement needle or the help dont know what your are taking about.
Just do a Google search for a needle and you able to find it.

I have to agree that if you are buying a turntable don't buy one of those dreadful USB models...
If you want to transfer you records to digital you can buy one of those little adapter boxes that will allow you to hook your stereo up to your computer usually they come with the software for recording on your computer...

The fact that Julia was on the cd was from the Moe Sizlack guy - which by the way, have we confirmed is bogus? I mean, I suspect he is but do we know for a fact that it isn't some guy who just used a fake profile to give true information and maintain his anonymity?
Anyway, separately someone on facebook whose friend is an insider -(and apparently many people confirm that when he says something it is accurate to the best of their knowledge and thus his credibility is high) stated that if Julia was the single/video that would be a dream come true and the insider's response was "welcome to your dream".
who knows but it seems like it came from a reliable source which may also mean that this Moe Sizlack was right after all?
Let me add that as much as I love Julia, I really believe The Dealer would be a more appropriate first single and video. Part of the problem I think they have had in terms of singles recently has been that they seem to forget marketing Stevie as the rocker her image was based on. Julia would be a great follow up to The Dealer. This is where I believe when her singles started to be less successful (in addition to other reasons). Releasing Long Way To Go or Whole Lotta Trouble first would have paved the way for a Rooms On Fire or Two Kinds Of Love follow up. Listen To The Rain would have made Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind more acceptable. Fall From Grace would have made Every Day or Love Changes (rumored to be considered for a single) more acceptable. Ghosts Are Gone would have made Secret Love more acceptable. etc... jmho

When his wife finds out there was a leak, from some guy who keeps saying his wife works at Reprise and supplied him with the info, isn't Moe even slightly concerned that his wife will realize that it's him? Isn't Moe concerned about his wife's job?

If, if there's any validity to the teasers he's sharing, the "wife works at Reprise" part might very well be a ruse.
But again, that's if there's any truth at all to the info he (or she!) is sharing.

I would be totally cool with that last tracklist.

A LONG TIME AGO, when this album first got off the ground, didn't Stevie also mention in some article, somewhere, that she recorded a song that she used to perform live on stage, but it never got a proper release? We all speculated here that it might be "Gold & Braid". I'm now convinced that Moe is a troll since there are NO songs on this tracklisting that she performed live at any point in her career.

It turns out moe HAS been reading our posts (creepy) :distress:
"After reading through some of 'The Ledge' posts I have seen that I am called a troll. My wife will never find this because she doesn't use the internet but it is still important for me to change my name in case someone says something. She wrote down the tracklisting at work on an index card and showed it to me and I posted it here when she wasn't in the room. The listing is correct and complete and Julia is the first single."

That's what I thought - she said they initially chose 18 tracks, and we are only getting 16.

There's still that unidentified clip Dave Stewart posted on his facebook, and that song is definitely not Amber, nor is it likely anything else on this troll's purported tracklist, nor is it any live performance I've ever heard. So unless both the "live song" and the clip Dave posted didn't make the cut, coupled with the likelihood that some guy named after a Simpson's character is married to a Warner employee willing to violate 90 kinds of contracts...
He's a troll, and no one should take anything he says seriously. My 2 cents.

Yes, so far the only rumored track-listing that included a song we didn't all recognize ("Turnstile 69"), was that very first one. The other rumored track-listings since then have each consisted of songs that we're quite familiar with.
It's going to be interesting to see which, if any, of these track-listings was accurate. There's a very good chance none of them will be. In that event, it will also be interesting to see which came the closest.

Lol yes, this would make sense if those new lyrics actually went with the original lyrics from Amber and if the best wasn't totally different.

I feel like that live version of Gold & Braid on Enchanted is pretty definitive, and I can't see her making it much better (I am open to eating my words, though). I hope, and sorta expect that it's something from the Fritz era.
If there are any plans for a Buckingham Nicks re-release, final project, etc., I would expect Farewell Failure, and Telephone (and Heartbreaker) to all end up there, as bonus material or something.

It was the AP Entertainment interview. The quote was
"There's a solo album on the way, with 17 so-called "trunk" songs -- things Nicks had written and, in some cases, performed over the years that fans requested be properly recorded and put into an album. A new Fleetwood Mac album is coming, too, as well as a big Mac tour, beginning 30 September in Minneapolis."
Here's the link to the article that Fleetwood Mac News posted on its site

Yeah, unless she does something really dramatic with it (like a 17-minute, re-constructed version, with new lyrics, strings , and a lock of her hair that flies out of the stereo and dances while the song plays), it will be difficult for me to not see it as a wasted opportunity. However, since there is no studio version, the OCD/completist that lives in my head will at least be satisfied.

The unreleased version of "Gold and Braid" is very close to the "live" version so I don't know what you would expect out of another studio version...

It actually just occurred to me that the "live" song could be referencing All The Beautiful Worlds. Isn't that basically what "Telephone/You Won't Forget Me" evolved into lyrically?

Yes, that is hardly a "vault" song. That song has been flagrantly dancing and kicking itself across the stages of the world for years. While I know people want a recorded studio version of the song, this album is not the place for it.
