Mirror Mirror tracklisting

Hi there
I've been wondering if anybody has come up with a definitive Mirror Mirror tracklisting? Basically all the tracks she originally recorded with Jimmy Iovine?

Hi Tusky. Well I don't know if this is a definitive track-listing for the projected Mirror Mirror album, but it may be of interest that the following titles were listed on a cassette from 1984 entitled "Rough Mixes":

1. Stranger (I assume Some Become Strangers)
2. Sister Honey
3. Nightmare
4. Has Anyone...
5. Imperial Hotel
6. Tied Up
7. No Spoken Word
8. Can't Wait
9. She Loves Him Still
10. Talk To Me
11. I Sing For Things

Considering that 9 of these tracks made it onto the Rock A Little album in 1985, this may have actually been a provisional track-listing for the eventual release. I know "If I Were You" was floating around at this time and of course, "Rock A Little" had also been demoed early on. I note that "She Loves Him Still" had an asterisk against it on the hand-written cassette track-listing - I wonder what that signified?

The original version of what ultimately became RAL has fascinated me for years. Stevie was very vocal at the time about how she wasn't happy with the original set of recordings she put together - but I've never quite understood why. I wonder how much of it had to do with her deteriorating relationship with Jimmy Iovine at the time.

Apparently 21 tracks were originally recorded for possible inclusion on the album, including:

"Mirror, Mirror"
"Chanel, Chanel"
"Lady From The Mountains"
"One More Big Time Rock And Roll Star"
"The Dealer"
"Thousand Days"
"Rock A Little"
"Battle Of The Dragon"

I would've loved to see songs like Running Through The Garden make the cut, but no matter what, I gotta say, I love RAL.

I know. But for whatever reason I think it fits into this set of songs better than WH. :sorry:

And regardless, it wasn't released until 1984, so it certainly is of the same era.

No worries. I feel ya! :D

To me personally, the musicality of it with the lack of synth and the driving guitar, sounds more WH than RAL/Mirror Mirror. I wish they had included it on "The Wild Heart" instead of the horrible "I Will Run To You". Just my opinion.
