What happens if 24 Karat Gold doesn't make the album? She will have to use a different title just like when Mirror Mirror didn't make Rock A Little.
Here are some ideas based on songs that may be on the album. Got anymore?
I'm going to close this thread and revise the poll to add in some new titles.

For me it's a toss up between All the Beautiful Worlds, Night Gallery and The Forest of Black Roses. I also like Maker of Birds.
I'm going to chose The Forest Black Roses because a lot of these demos are very dark and have to do about wanting love, not getting love, love gone wrong. Basically, her not getting the love she needed. It's also very Stevie.

I like the idea of Mistress Of My Fate :)

I would add that but I don't know how to edit poll.

I don't like any of these titles...but then I'm not really too thrilled about "24 Karat Gold" being the title either, so... :sorry:

Yeah; I'd prefer if Stevie didn't name her albums after a song...but that's what she does with only one exception.

Well, to be fair, "Mirror, Mirror" was an entirely different project/concept altogether, slated for release in 1984 featuring that track plus a lot of other songs that were scrapped because she didn't like the direction it was going.
She started over in 1985, presumably with a different concept in mind, that would turn out to be "Rock A Little".

:shrug:The only Stevie album that I can think of without it being titled after one of the songs is "Other Side of the Mirror"...but even with that...that exact lyric is referenced in "Alice"....so even that seems to be named after one of her songs as well basically.

That's a good one. I selected All The Beautiful Worlds, but I think Night Gallery is perfect. It's not so presumptuous as 24 Karat Gold or Something Exquisite. It's intriguing and mysterious, more appropriately aligned with her "vault" concept, as if she shedding light on this gallery of songs that have been residing in the dark of night.

I don't think there is rule about an album title that doesn't include a song of the same name. It does happen sometimes.

There seems to be a Stevie rule.

True, with a few exceptions: The Other Side of the Mirror, Crystal Visions and Soundstage Sessions.

Those titles do lend themselves to an easy joke if the critics decide to pan the album.
For myself, I would take a lyrical phrase that intrigued me like Mix Down, but, generally speaking, I don't think that would be good for marketing. Michele

Night Gallery is very fitting, especially since she lived like a vampire for years and probably wrote these songs at night.
True, with a few exceptions: The Other Side of the Mirror, Crystal Visions and Soundstage Sessions.
And Timespace.
I think I'd prefer her to go the CV/TOSOTM route and use a lyric rather than a song title. None of these really cry out to me, but All the Beautiful Worlds suits me fine. Especially given how she describes her songs as "little worlds". Although I'd prefer it be shortened to simply The Beautiful Worlds.
Starshine and Sanctuary aren't bad. Certainly better than the working title.

R there any lyrics in these demos that would make a good album title?

Set Me Free springs to mind as a choice that speaks to the theme of releasing old songs from the vault, without being quite so tacky and clumsy sounding as the current working title.
But that's just off the top of my head. I'm not overly familiar with her demos and their lyrics. I mean, I guess she could name it anything she likes and as long as the content is good nobody is really going to mind much post-release.

It would be a good title. But then it'd mean that Night Gallery would probably be on the album! And that I'm just not so sure about. ;)
I mean, I don't dislike the song myself, but it's not one of those I'd point to and say "look how awesome this woman is!". It's one someone else might point to and I would sheepishly respond "... Yeeeeaaaaahhh. That's a thing."

I think Forest of the Black Roses would be the best if she were to use a song title (which I guess she is). I think almost any of those would be better than 24k Gold, tbh. It sounds like a hits collection to me. But no matter what the title is I'll still be happy because at the end of the day it's the content that I'm looking forward to.

All the Beautiful Worlds seems like the perfect encapsulation of Stevie's idea of songwriting and what each song represents, which makes it perfect for this particular collection which is, presumably, not thematically linked or representing a particular place in life, but is about her songwriting and recording process. You know: for the fans.
I think Songs From the Vault is the best title. If all of these tracks are from her collection of gems from the past it makes for a great album title, not to mention a great PR story for the press to promote the disc.

Just my opinion, but I think that would be a horrible title. Just a little too airy fairy. Sure, the term mistress can mean a woman in charge, but it also means a woman in a affair with a married man. I don't like album titles where the artist is addressed in the first person, as if it is some kind of personal proclamation. It comes off sounding really cheesy.

Come to think of it, it sort of applies to Stevie, but I don't like album titles that directly address the artist in the first person. They sound really cheesy.
Interesting - I don't find it to be too airy fairy at all.
I think an album simply called "Stevie Nicks 24 Karat" also would be great. I don't love the "songs from the vaults" reference.

You picked a live album and a greatest hits. Those don't count. When it comes to studio albums, she almost always picks a song title.

Interesting observation! I never thought of that! Would she fully discount any of the few songs that were fully prepped for release but still ended up in the dust bin. It's not like she couldn't re-record them if she wanted to.
It would be cool if those songs could be available as they exist as bonus downloads. It's kind of subjective to determine what songs fall into that category.
Certainly All The Beautiful Words, and a early version of Mirror Mirror. Not sure about Dial The Number or If You Were My Love.
I have heard versions of "Golden Braid" and "Julia" that seem to have been fully completed in the studio. Also, "She Loves Him Still" was included on the track-listing for the aborted Mirror Mirror album that was due for release in 1984 so I'm assuming there's a finished version of that as well.

I like the idea of dropping "Gold" from the title. Even better" 24 Karats! It would feature 24 songs.

I like the title Night Gallery too...I wonder if she still stays up all night and sleeps all day? I haven't heard her mention in any interviews that she is on a "normal" schedule.

Name it "She Loves Him Still," and dedicate it to Lindsey, and then see the s**t hit the fan. I would love that, so romantic.

The album covers for some of these titles would be awesome. I would love to see her in a Forest of Black Roses...
