I always thought Ooh My Love was about Lindsey

Remember in CAH's book Carol said Lindsey always called her angel

A Line From Ooh My Love: Oh, but there was a time when he called her "Angel"

Goodbye Angel (Lindsey Outtake 1982) Could be related

I guess this is because of Lindsey leaving FM, Stevie was upset

Yes, the "chamber" where they spent all of their time together, reminds me of the way Stevie has described the coffee plant. It was scary and empty at night and they locked themselves in.

In the newly circulating "Street Angel Tour rehearsals" tapes, Stevie mentions that "this is another songs about Don" before launching into "Ooh My Love." So I'd assume it was about Don Henley.

Oh wow please post. I found one of "Ooh My Love" on you tube and it sounds great. I thought the rehearsal's with Sharon singing "Long Way To Go" was fantastic. I can't wait to hear Stevie actually singing it AND "Freedom"???? Hurry :blob2:

The live version was actually very faithful. A shame she has not dusted it off in the intervening years.

How interesting it is to find out that Stevie was considering adding to her set never performed deep tracks from a prior album while embarking on a tour to promote a new album! Her choices and logic never cease to baffle reason.

Still, both songs, Long Way to Go and Ooh My Love, should have had a life on stage. Joining public opinion, I think Ooh My Love sounded great, and would have offered a different flavor to her show.

That's because she didn't like Street Angel and was tired of it before it even came out.

Speaking of Ooh My Love, I was wondering if anyone else noticed how honest and open Stevie was on the Other Side of the Mirror CD, and specifically on this song. This song was the first time I'd ever heard her change from 3rd person to 1st person. She sings "yes, it was a strain on her, watching her castles fall down..." twice before changing it to "yes, it was a strain on me/no one can take you away from me, no, no one" and then back to 3rd person.

I loved that Stevie was trying to let her fans in that way, and I wondered if anyone else was as shocked as I was when she changed tense.

Hmmmm I think Stevie does this all the time in most of her songs...especially live.
I think this song is one of the better songs on TOSOTM. Great writing but most of the album has great writing.

Interesting theory. I would think that's more so true with street angel though, you?

I always thought Ooh My Love built to such a crescendo or climax when she changed tense that it seemed like Stevie was acknowledging the moment. Almost like she was saying "alright, yes, it's me, I'm the one!"

I think Stevie was making a real effort to make her songwriting less cryptic with both the Other Side of the Mirror and Street Angel. The meaning of Doing the Best That I Can is certainly much more obvious than most of her other songs.

The song choices would have been awesome for the tour! Of course, as it was, these were some of the best vocals ever from any solo tour. But to have LWTG or OML?

Thanks for posting the new link.

I thought so myself. I thought the song was a very recent write for Stevie during the time of TOSOTM.

Another great song she ignores. I can't believe it wasn't a single.

The live version was actually very faithful. A shame she has not dusted it off in the intervening years.

I was listening songs (any band/singer) in random order (iPod touch, yes I still have one) and this song started to play. I confess I didn't remember it so I checked and realized it's from the Enchanted boxset I bought long ago (I never got the OSOTM album), and actually I liked it though not enough to be included in the unforgettable songs list, since I'd forgotten it, but it's a nice song. Though I'd have eliminated the first 20 seconds, an instrumental intro that doesn't fit at all with the rest of the song.

And after checking deeper, I found the demo version from Tango Deluxe. The OSOTM version is much better.

And yes it wouldn't be a bad idea for her to include it in her current setlist. But if she ruled out Angel...

The Tango version is horrible. You can tell she is drunk on the vocals. She sounds like a Halloween witch at Party City. It definitely was a pre-rehab vocal
It definitely is one of the better songs on OSOTM. Her vocal on the Tango version is almost an extension of the RAL era and where her voice and career were heading.
