Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Carrie Underwood will come together to salute Linda Ronstadt upon her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 10 in New York, while Bruce Springsteen, Glenn Frey, Questlove, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Michael Stipe and Tom Morello will be among the performers and presenters on hand to welcome in the other 2014 inductees.

Those will include Peter Gabriel, Nirvana, Yusuf (formerly Cat Stevens), KISS, Daryl Hall & John Oates, the E Street Band, Beatles manager Brian Epstein and Rolling Stones manager and producer Andrew Loog Oldham.

Ronstadt, citing health issues related to her Parkinson’s disease, will not attend the event and is among three of this year’s Rock Hall class not scheduled to perform. “It’s something I never gave one thought to,” Ronstadt told The Times last week. “It wasn’t on my radar screen. Other people seemed to be way more interested in it than I am. It’s like other awards that have come my way: I’m delighted to get them and I’ve very grateful, but I didn’t work in music for that reason.” She revealed last year that Parkinson's had rendered her unable to sing.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that she has Parkinson's. :( I always thought that she has been a class act. Thanks for posting.

Springsteen, Stevie Nicks to rock out at Hall of Fame ceremony

http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/entertainment2/57758864-223/hall-induct-fame-rock.html.csp Associated Press

Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Chris Martin: The stars are turning out to salute the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

The hall of fame announced Tuesday that "The Boss" will fittingly induct and perform with his loyal E Street Band, while a superstar lineup of Nicks, Underwood, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow will perform for Linda Ronstadt. Glenn Frey will induct the singer.

Michael Stipe of R.E.M. will induct Nirvana, Coldplay’s Chris Martin will induct Peter Gabriel, Tom Morello handles those duties for KISS, and Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson will induct fellow Philadelphians Hall and Oates.

Inductees Daryl Hall and John Oates, Gabriel and Cat Stevens will perform during the April 10 ceremony, which will be broadcast May 31 on HBO.

So, Stevie is likely going to sing a Ronstadt hit. I wonder which one.

I like Different Drum, for her.

Thats great news that Linda is going into the RR hall a fame.I love her and her tunes.I'm also glad that Stevie will be there with her.

It would be interesting to know what song Stevie will do at the induction.

I love to hear Stevie do Blue Bayou.

Undoubtedly, Stevie will trot out "It's So Easy" because it's easier than having to rehearse something new. Any of Linda's recordings would be wonderful for Stevie - imagine a heartfelt version of "The Moon's A Harsh Mistress" - but I suspect she won't venture out of her comfort zone. Lazy bugger.

"Poor Poor Pitiful Me" would be awesome, plus a nod to Zevon while she's at it.

not to mention it was the first song she sang with Sharon, when she jumped up onstage at the Blue Max to sing with Sharon and her band, the night she then asked Sharon if she would want to be in her band when she put one together for her solo work.

She sang "The Rose" in honor of Bette Midler, when Bette received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award. I wouldn't say that was in her comfort zone.

Agreed Johnny. I remember seeing an audience recording of "The Rose" from that performance and it sounded great. I would have loved an official release of that.
Stevie frustrates me because she still possesses so much talent, but for whatever reason, doesn't always exploit her strengths. Even with regard to the upcoming Mac album, she's in a position where she could contribute 3 or 4 killer songs/performances, but I fear she'll only serve up something lukewarm and generic - ie way beneath her abilities.

I agree with you. Ronstadt is a true vocalist and was never much of a songwriter. As you said, Ronstadt tracks are tough....so many songs that I just can't imagine Stevie ever doing, for example: Different Drum, Long, Long Time, Love Has No Pride, Ooh Baby Baby, Someone To Lay Down Beside Me or Blue Bayou.

I would love to hear any of these songs listed, especially Different Drum. I just have huge doubts. Honestly, I think Stevie can sing anything, I really do. It's just more of a question of will she?

Through the years, she has surprised me with even doing It's So easy, Red River Valley, Not Fade Away and sang the sh¡t out of At Last. What a surprise that was!

When I found out that Linda Rondstadt had Parkinsons Disease, I got depressed. She can't even sing. It feels like all my stars are getting ready to die off. I'm 44 and I remember the 70s and 80s very well. It seems like yesterday. Really sad.

It's funny that Linda's album Simple Dreams was the album that finally knocked Rumours out the number #1 spot.

Why do you think this?

Phil
04-02-2014, 10:23 PM
Hi Mike. Well I am concerned that Stevie seems disconnected from the new Mac album. Lindsey has been attempting to get her involved in a Mac recording for some years and the most he could coax out of her was what she contributed to last year's Extended Play (ie two days of work and not a splendid result).
Even with Christine back in the fold, Stevie has yet to commit on any level in terms of recording. I don't know whether she's resentful of obligations to the band or if she's cautious of Lindsey producing her songs, but she doesn't seem enthusiastic at all. It's possible she is writing/preparing songs as we speak, but I suspect she's more engaged with the prospects of another solo album, most likely with Dave Stewart at the helm. Of course, I don't blame her if this is the case, but I'm confused about where her loyalties might lie.
Stevie has always maintained that she never wanted to be the one to "break up the band", but now that she has the perfect opportunity to make (at least) one (last) great album with them, she seems hesitant. I can't help but wonder about the sincerity of all those overtures towards Christine over the years (regarding re-joining), especially now that it's come to fruition. Was she simply using Christine's absence as an excuse to avoid participating in another Mac album? After all, it's clear from statements she made up until even last year that she never actually thought Christine would return.
Anyway, what I'm getting at is that I think Stevie might be a little disillusioned with the idea of another Mac recording so I'm concerned about her contribution. I imagine she will have input at some stage, but when and in what capacity is anyone's guess. I just want the whole album to be brilliant and if she's not invested, it just won't realise the ambitions I have for it.
PS Regarding the Linda Ronstadt tribute performance, "Different Drum" and "You Can Close Your Eyes" are superb suggestions, but I very much doubt Stevie will stray from "It's So Easy".

I see your point, but I don't think she wants her contributions to be mediocre at this important time in the band's history. Maybe her reservations are that her contributions won't be brilliant because she and Lindsey don't work well in the studio anymore. She did some really great stuff on IYD, and personally I wouldn't see the harm if she put together some really highly polished demos with Dave Stewart and brought them to the Mac recording sessions. Lindsey and the rest can add their flourishes of course, but her vision of the songs will already be realized.

SN is being a terrific soldier for FM right now. She may not be in the studio, but she's out there selling "Show.." tickets. Us diehards want a new FM record, FM want every $200+ ticket committed to before they hit the road. I reckon they're very happy she's out and about, talking to press, singing on TV, and not in the studio.

I bet poor Linda is hurting with her bank account.

She cant tour and record.

It would be a great idea to get her music library a good sake and have her music re-released to help her out.Her record royalties probably almost nothing after everybody else get their cut.

This makes me so upset.

That's an assumption...I don't think I've heard many stories of her living a wild & crazy life and it sounds like she may have slowed down and led a more normal life around the time of "Trio" and the broad way thing...If she didn't live an overly extravagant lifestyle maybe she was smart enough to invest her money wisely and if so she may be financially sound...

This is why Don Henley and a group of other musicians are fighting for copyright laws to be changed....Basically record companies would no longer have the rights to an artists songs/albums FOREVER...After 35 years (I think) artists would get their songs back...It sounds quite involved but if you want to know more just google it...

No the artist would get the album itself back from the record company and have full ownership...They would then be able to shop the album around for whatever deal they wanted...Can you imagine if FM decides they want TUSK back from WB...

Stevie and Lindsey (especially Stevie) probably make out quite well from song writing royalties. Seeing as how Christine sold all her songs I don't know if she still gets royalties...

A rather good article about Linda, her parkinson's trials and tribulations, and induction into the RRHOF.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2014/04/02/linda-ronstadt-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-induction-duets-album/7057825/

For starters, traveling is difficult because the most comfortable position for her these days is either lying down flat or sitting in an overstuffed chair with an ottoman, as she is today in her neatly appointed house on the western edge of town. It looks like the home of a retired schoolteacher — tidy and bright — not a music legend.

"To go anywhere, to fly anywhere, even to drive down to San Jose (an hour south) is a big deal," she says, adding that at this stage Parkinson's causes her to tire quickly if she overexerts herself. "I have to make sure there's a place like this, to lie down. Or I have to take a wheelchair, but I can't last that long in a wheelchair."

"Love Has No Pride" (and "Willin'") will most likely be done by Bonnie Raitt. She recorded that song on her first album. "Willin' was written by Lowell George one of Bonnie's dearest friends (she ALMOST joined Little Feat way back when & credits Lowell with perfecting her slide guitar chops) & she's done the song a few times during her own concerts.

Wasn't Stevie singing background vocals on Warren Zevon's original version of "Poor Poor Pitiful Me"? (I know Lindsey plays guitar on that version, too)

It is not an assumption. She confirmed in a very recent TV interview that she is running out of money paying for her kid's tuitions etc. She stated that it was ok when she could still tour .She has not had a hit album since the 1980s and has written very few songs..none of them hits or very well known..The only one I can think of is "Try Me Again"so the royalties are minimal.I would hazard a guess that Stevie made more money in 2013 than Linda has in the past 20 years combined.Sure she does not live as opulently as Stevie but with little coming in her nice house in the Sunset district and her kid's college expenses would be difficult to sustain.

Yes, especially because Stevie wrote her hit songs and gets money when they are covered by other artists and that's not true of Ronstadt.

She is probably worth 7 to 10 million dollars. However, she lives in San Froancisco. She is not broke but she is not really rich. Stevie is rich. In an off year, she can make millions from royalties.

Here's an interview with Linda Ronstadt made within the last 24 hours:

https://music.yahoo.com/blogs/music-news/linda-ronstadt-q-having-heart-career-wheel-011146482.html

It gives you a sense of how's she's doing. She's very critical of her own voice/singing.

Here's an interview in USA today with Ronstadt:

Yes, especially because Stevie wrote her hit songs and gets money when they are covered by other artists and that's not true of Ronstadt.

Stevie has referred to her songs as her "children" specifically mentioning that they would support her in her old age. She doesn't have kids but she's got financial security. Life's full of tradeoffs.

This is all from the captured web-streaming of the ceremony. Therefore, it's not great quality and you can hear audience members chatting in parts. I'm missing a tiny bit from the beginning of Linda's video package from when she was inducted but the rest is there. I've split files up so you can choose what you want to listen to and/or download - the full induction, the whole musical tribute or just the bits where Stevie is singing.

500 people in it, but 900 guitar players!? Maths isn't a strong suit either... ;)

Fleetwood Mac frontwoman Stevie Nicks paid tribute to Linda Ronstadt at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony Thursday night, along with an all-star lineup of women Ronstadt influenced, as Ronstadt was unable to make an appearance herself. Following performances by Carrie Underwood, Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow, Nicks sang Buddy Holly's "It's So Easy," which Ronstadt released as her own single 1977 album Simple Dreams, and the Everly Brothers' "When Will I Be Loved," a 1975 single for Ronstadt off her Heart Like a Wheel LP. Following her performance, she told Rolling Stone how Ronstadt left an indelible impression on her at an early age.

Why did you want to pay tribute to Linda Ronstadt?
Because Linda was one of the first artists that really caught my eye when I was in high school. And I really could sing just like her. I'm sure a lot of people could. Because if you study her, you can get her vibe. So I could sing "Different Drum." I couldn't sing it as good as Carrie Underwood just sang it, I have to say, God bless her. But I got it pretty good, and I could also play it on my guitar – and I'm not the best guitar player. But I learned it and I could sing it.

Linda was really a rock star, but she was tinged with the country thing. And so she figured out a way to blend those things. So she was rockin', and she hung out with the rockers, the rock bands. But she still had that little bit of country that went along with her. And, her voice was so spectacular that all the men surrounding her – Don Henley and Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne – that whole bunch of guys that was so fantastic. So she was like myself.

How else did you relate to her?
She was never gonna do a song she didn't love. Because I've gotten in terrible arguments with producers about a song that they'll give me, and they'll go, "This could be your next hit single." And I'm like, "I don't care because I hate it, and I'm not doing it." And huge arguments over that. And I'm sure Linda Ronstadt was the same way, where she'd say, "No, I'm not doing that song. I don't like it." So she was just strong.

And I think that when she was 15, 16, 17, she was probably just like me. She was marching through the halls of her high school going, 'Everybody should be moving aside right now, because, "Don't you know who I am? I'm Linda Ronstadt, future huge rock star." It's just in her. I watched her and I listened to her. And I loved all her songs and I got told great stories about her from all the amazing people that did know her. And I don't really know how she slipped through the cracks, and I never really got to meet her. I should've gotten to meet her. Anyway, she was just like the perfect storm of everything meeting at the same time in perfection when she hit the radio.

Did you speak with her before tonight? How did you come to sing in the tribute?
We were just asked. I think that me, Carrie, Sheryl, Emmylou, Bonnie – I think the five of us certainly had no idea that we'd be chosen to do this. But it was so great because I really think we were the perfect five to do it, and I think that Glenn Frey was the perfect person to induct her because they really were good friends. So he knew her really well.

What has the backstage scene been like for you?
Well, I couldn't even watch Cat Stevens because it was right before us. And I started crying. I met him last night at Jimmy Fallon, and I got a moment to tell him how inspirational he had been to Lindsey Buckingham and to myself. For Buckingham-Nicks, Cat Stevens was one of the people that we listened to daily and sang along to those songs and played those songs and harmonized to those songs. And they meant so much to us. I mean in so many ways, they meant so much to us, not just because they were good songs; to me, it was Cat Stevens, and that was huge for us. I told him that last night.

How did he reply?
He said, "You know, I'm so glad you told me that. Because how would I know? How would I know?" And he goes, "I'm thrilled that I influenced the two people in Fleetwood Mac. I'm thrilled to know that." And he was so sweet and gentle and loving and nice.

So tonight, when he started singing, I was gonna go out there and stand on the side of the stage and watch. I started crying. I couldn't do it because if you start to cry, you can't sing. So I had to walk away. I thought, "I'll watch it on HBO, because if I go out there, I will get hysterical." He's amazing.

I think that he should come back, because I think that somebody like Cat Stevens or Yusuf – whichever name he chooses to go by – I think his message of peace and love is great. And I think that it showed very much in that huge audience tonight that his music can promote peace and love, and he should do it because he can. And he can break hearts and he can make people listen to him. And that is magical. And he should do it. And I told him that.

Who else are you excited to see tonight?
I cannot miss Hall & Oates, because Hall & Oates are huge, huge, huge for me. I really just wanted to be an R&B singer, let's face it.

What were your thoughts on the Kiss situation? Did you talk to them at all about performing?
I did not. I just gave them kisses. No, my opinion was that they should have played. When we were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lindsey's a little bit like, "OK, whatever." But let me tell you, when we walked up there and we were inducted, we stood up there and it is a moment like no other. Then you get to go and strum on your guitar and get your microphone and sing two or three songs to that audience on your day.

It is their loss that they didn't play, because the Kiss Army is out there, right now screaming for them. And they should have played for them, no matter how they felt about it. You know, Fleetwood Mac had about 500 people in it, too. They weren't all there. All 900 guitar players didn't get inducted. They weren't there. So the thing is, you know what? It's your moment. Take it. Go out there and play. It's the most important part. I like Kiss very much, and I think that they have done amazing. They're an amazing band.

Stevie Nicks, who recently announced a tour with formerly estranged Fleetwood Mac member Christine McVie, had some strong words for the band. “You will be sorry later that you didn’t just go and do it because it’s important.” Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello, no stranger to band beef himself, chose a more positive outlook. “Tonight isn’t about what didn’t happen, tonight is about what did happen. KISS, after a long way, are in the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall Of Fame.” Later that night he presented the band with their Hall of Fame statutes.

Ronstadt was saluted by some royalty of female country rock. Carrie Underwood sang "Different Drum," Ronstadt's first hit with the Stone Poneys. Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt joined for "Blue Bayou." Sheryl Crow and Frey made it a quintet to sing "You're No Good." Then Stevie Nicks came out to lead them in "It's So Easy" and "When Will I Be Loved."

Nicks said hearing "Different Drum" when she was in high school made her want to get into music. "I didn't look that good in cutoffs, but that's what I was going to do," she said.

He paid tribute to the power of music, which he said “can make you feel so alive ... and think that the world would, could and should be a much better place — and occasionally make you very, very happy.” While Ronstadt was absent, a roster of top female stars paid musical tribute to her oeuvre with Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Stevie Nicks bringing the audience at a Brooklyn arena to its feet with rousing renditions of You’re No Good, Different Drum and When Will I Be Loved.

Nicks said when she saw Ronstadt perform, she was inspired to become a singer, thinking “That’s what I’m gonna do. She was the heart of the matter, she really was.”

Love Stevie's confusion.

now THIS is the Stevie that I love.

not sure how much i can handle but...stevie with the square mic the other night, stevie running to the mic almost missing her cue, stevie with that growly rasp several times in It's So Easy. I feel like we're back in the old days! Love it! I liked seeing that long skirt again. Seemed to fit her nicely.

Hopefully this performance get's the final edit in the HBO feature.

I agree. She looked so happy, and sounded great. They all did actually. Definitely loved the spunk she threw in there. She DID miss her cue. And, I thought for sure that her mic was going down @ 1:40. Even when they sang, When Will I Be Loved, she kind of touches Sheryl's shoulder, like this is SO COOL. It really was beautifully done by everyone. Carrie, Emmylou, Bonnie, Sheryl, Glen, the band, and of course, Stevie.

Great tribute to Linda...One thing that always amazes me is how little contact Stevie had with Linda back in the day..They are the two biggest female stars of 1970s California rock and knew many of the same people Waddy, the Eagles etc and yet they really don't know each other,I think that they are kind of polar opposites in the way that they approached stardom though .Stevie ate it up and still does and Linda was very reluctant about it.That could have something to do with it.

In the biblical sense!

I don't buy that they never met. Between the two of them, they ****ed every member of the Eagles (with quite a bit of overlap, I'm sure). That had to have met at least in passing.

I don't really buy it either..Isn't there a story about Stevie and Linda sitting together at a Louise Goffin show in the very early 1980s and commenting on Louise's singing.Plus we all know how accurate Stevie's memory is.:

My favourite bits are italicised. Just because I can.

Also, a new favourite from the books of 'Stevie Nicks Exaggerates': "You know, Fleetwood Mac had about 500 people in it, too. They weren't all there. All 900 guitar players didn't get inducted."

Additional Reporting by Patrick Doyle

I think what she said about Cat Stevens was more touching than what she said about Linda Rondstadt. She made it seem to me that Linda's voice wasn't that special; that anyone could sing her songs. Just weird to me. She made it all about herself.

Of course the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame doesn't care about this, but I was thinking how Linda Ronstadt singlehandedly brought classic music back, introducing a new audience to 50 year old ballads.

You didn't have Cher and Rod Stewart and Natalie Cole singing the old standards until What's New was such a spectacular success. Then, all the stars started to follow suit.

Very happy to have become a Ledgie! I recently stumbled across this account of Stevie's and Linda's relationship from the Waddy Q&A:

http://www.fleetwoodmac.net/fwm/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=166&Itemid=186

blackca:t Are Linda and Stevie friends?

Waddy: They're not "not friends." I don't know that they really know each other really.

blackcap: You mean all musicians don't know each other? (laughing) Those two ladies just have so many similarities.

Waddy: I would love to get my two Arizona girls together.

blackcap: Absolutely! Hey!

Waddy: I've got one in Phoenix and one in Tucson. I don't know that they've ever really come together.

blackcap: I know that they have met because they were at a show together.

Waddy: What show was that?

blackcap: I read this in a magazine article a while ago . . . It was at a show for Louise Goffin. Stevie and Linda were sitting next to each other, both being blown away by Louise's voice, and Stevie kind of leaned over to Linda and said something like, "Well, do you think we can still get a job singing back up for Joe Cocker?" (By the way, Louise has a new album out called Sometimes A Circle, and it's amazing!)

Waddy: (laughing)

blackcap: It is pretty funny.

Waddy: Yeah. She has been out-that's right, it was the orchestral thing, and she's got the glass whistles and stuff. She likes that stuff. She's amazing, and a very, very unique person. She's very funny. Very unique. There's no one like Linda.

blackcap: Both Linda and Stevie-they both seem like they have a pretty good sense of humor. They should be together some day.

Waddy: Oh yes. They would love each other. It's like when Dolly (Parton) met us all. We were just in love. We were just in stitches, and in love. Dolly just has this incredible energy. (Dolly has a new album out called "Halos & Hornes")

I haven't read anything since her in initial comments. But these performances from this angle were so exciting that I'm about to watch it again. I was wondering if anyone would agree that I think Stevie might not have been there for the rehearsals because Glen Frey had to direct her to the proper microphone or do you think it was just a case of nervousness?

Knowing how much Stevie is a stickler for rehearsing, my guess is that she just was just nervous. Sheryl had just sang center stage, so there was an empty mic set up next to Glen. So when Stevie was introduced, she made her entrance on that side of the stage, saw the empty mic, the music started so quickly, and I think she just got confused. It was funny.

Yes, I watched the broadcast on HBO Saturday night. Stevie's little faux pas was edited out ( I was hoping that they would have left that in ) because it was funny:laugh:. They also omitted her little nudge to Sheryl. They did show Bonnie, Carrie and Sheryl in the audience several different times. Stevie was in the audience clapping when Peter Gabriel was walking up to the stage. Waddy did a great job on both Linda's tribute, as well as Cat Steven's. Paul Stanley was very appreciative of the fans in his speech, saying that the " people " need to be more involved in the induction, and nominations, and not just "spoon-feed " choices. He also said the fans are who make it all possible, they ( the rock stars ) just benefit from it. It was really heart felt, and well said. Bruce and the E Street band rocked. Daryl Hall accepted his award, but also questioned the RRHOF, as to why other artists haven't been inducted. Overall I enjoyed the whole show.

I probably would of enjoyed most of the show except for the Nirvana induction.I'm not a fan .I like Joan Jett though.
It figures they chopped up Linda's induction. They could of leave it alone.

BTW why was Courtney Love booed by the crowd.

Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt's performances with Carrie were great, and if Carrie pulled back just a touch on her great vocals she would have been awesome. Harris is I all about out phrasing, and she had it.

That said, I thought Stevie's performance was the most energetic and celebratory. She had more energy than all the women combined and seemed truly happy to be doing what she was doing. And she got the loudest cheers from the audience! Damn I love that woman.

I think it has to do with her little feud with Dave Grohl over Nirvana royalties. She has publicly slammed him over the years. Plus some Nirvana fans simply never really liked her in the first place. Some people just don't take her seriously, or respect her. To be honest, I thought the crowd kind of held back, or I should say, I thought it was going to be worse than what it was.

if you read various facebook etc comments, the hate for her from some in that fan community makes any little intra-FM fan feuds and squabbles looking completely minor. it's pretty nasty. they blame her for Kurt Cobain's death, basically.

 Yes, I think your right. Although, I've never read any of the Facebook comments, I've read some Youtube comments. And yes, some are very hateful towards her. I just never cared enough about her to follow anything that she did/does. I just don't like the way she carries herself. Regrettably, I did the same thing with Amy Winehouse. I just never bothered to listen to her music because I never took her seriously because of the way that she carried herself. In my opinion, unlike Courtney, Amy was extremely talented, and it wasn't until after her death that someone turned me on to her music.

Thanks .I already know this lady is not running on all cylinders upstairs.
I have no idea how Dave G put up with the bull crap with her.

CL called Dave Grohl out for sleeping with ... or trying to sleep with her daughter.
That's kinda gross and I don't think it's true, she was kinda crazy with the drugs but her music is okay and she loves Stevie soooooooooooooo ....

The booing was insulting and uncalled for. Courtney has definitely struggled with demons, but was there to pay tribute to her deceased husband's band. I found the audience's disrespect to be really troubling. And as others have said, Courtney has consistently been a huge booster for Stevie and Fleetwood Mac, even in the pre-Dance era when it wasn't necessarily "cool" to be a fan.

Separately, gosh I just love hearing these ladies sing together!

I agree aleuzzi...Stevie seemed really into it and *growled* it out...I also loved her comment about not looking as good as Linda in cutoffs - that got a big laugh from the crowd :p

Sorry guys .I apologize because this video is corrupt.I will fix it later in the week.

As promised .

Apparently my computer must of went on a fritz the night of encoding this video.

Will I worked the gremlins out tonight and fixed the video for it does not look like one of those out of sync 1950's foreign films that you see on late night TV.

Sorry about that.

Godzilla 1954 comes to mind of 1950's movies.LOL.........

Yea I do prefer the older artists .I love Trisha Yearwood.Trisha is a part of the 1990's generation of country artists when I was glued to TNN The Nashville Network 24/7 before they turned into a crap channel.I wish Dolly P was there .Stevie is a big fan of hers.Stevie would love to perform with Dolly on the same stage. They probably had to get Carrie on board to represent the younger artists. She was OK.But I would love to see Dolly there.

Trisha is a GREAT vocalist and her song choices have always been compared to Linda Rondstadt.

Yes I agree.I seen her live a couple of times in town here .To bad the organizers didn't call her in to join the group Or they tried .I'm still pissed because Dolly was not there. She was part of Trio.

I wonder if there was scheduling conflicts with the two.

I read that during the making of Trio, Dolly and Linda didn't get along, and that is I guess why the next Trio CD was only a duo :) (Linda and Emmylou). I love Dolly, but I had the weirdest feeling when I was watching a concert of hers on TV a while ago. A famous guitar player from another band (Richie Sanbora or whatever his name is from Bon Jovi) was a special guest, and the whole time he was on stage, it seemed like Dolly did everything she could to be in control of him and the situation. I know that she is a very shrewd business woman and I love some of her music, but she may also have this very controlling side which has worked to her advantage in a lot of ways but which may also not endear her to other folks at certain times.

My 2 cents.

Kevin

Stevie is so unbelievably cute in this video... Just seeing her with this kind of energy brings a smile to my face. Especially her eye widen at 2:07... Reminds me of around 4:54 in the 1981 Roxy performance of GDW: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnYQxhIfGtk
