Lady Gaga, Stevie Nicks + Steven Tyler Serve ‘You Can’t Sit With Us’ Face At Vanity Fair’s Oscar Party
Oh my god, you can almost SMELL the “You can’t sit with us” emanating from this photo of Lady Gaga, Stevie Nicks, and Steven Tyler looking good and feeling fine at Vanity Fair’s West Hollywood Oscar party last night. It’s even, wouldn’t you say, fetch? NO, YOU WOULD NOT. Stop trying to make fetch happen. It’s not going to happen.
Despite the fact that the “Do What U Want” singer was, like, the queen bee of the 2014 Oscars social scene (she hit up both the Academy Awards’ red carpet and Elton John’s Oscars party, where she was literally choked by Kelly Osbourne), we’re gonna have to give the Regina George designation to Stevie Nicks. You wanna tell an all-but-confirmed witch she’s not on top? Be our guest.
So, that leaves Gretchen Wieners for Gaga. Don’t worry, though, she still totally gets a candy cane from us — two, even! Just not as many as Glen Coco. (You go, Glen Coco.) Meanwhile, the Aerosmith frontman is obviously Karen, as he looks lost in a “feelin’ myself,” ESPN trance.
Obviously, that means that we are none other than Cady Heron that girl who made out with a hot dog. We know our role in this.
HelloMonster
03-03-2014, 02:16 PM
 Cady wasn't the one who made out with a hot dog. If you're gonna compare that picture to Mean Girls, you'd better get your facts straight, John Walker!

Stevie looked really sharp in her new dress, modern yet very Stevie! I agree would love to see her in other colors as well. She looks stunning in red or burgandy, even in white or ecru. Pale colors make her look washed out though.

Stevie looks so pretty, even prettier in the pics without her ubiquitous aviators. However, I'm sorry, I think she needs to fire Margi Kent ASAP, and finally get a real stylist for some of these high profile events Stevie is starting to frequent. That unbuttoned generic looking flat black suit jacket covering her silky blouse that looks like it could be a onesie blouse/skirt is so boring and plain. Not to mention it's not flattering for her silhouette or waist line. If Stevie wanted to look unglamorous and comfortable, she succeeded. Where are the beautiful embroidered prints or intricate lace designs that she could incorporate in her jackets or underlays with a little more shimmer. Sorry, though she looks pretty, this is getting lame and boring. These ugly black "uniforms" don't come close to representing rock star glamour. Especially for somone of Stevie's stature! Someone needs to tell her to try just a little bit. She's way too stuck in her comfort zone.

Christopher I agree with you 1,000%. However, I gave up expecting anything more from Stevie a while ago. For some reason only known to her, she is unwilling to break out of her ultra conservative fashion choices. I suspect it's an age thing, as she mentioned recently she now wears "age appropriate" clothing. That's not what I would call her present day duds but she is Stevie Nicks, after all. She can (and will) wear whatever the hell she wants. Too bad for the rest of us, who wants Stevie Nicks to look a little more like Stevie Nicks.

Her brief conversation with Colin Paterson at the Vanity Fair party as broadcast on BBC 5 Live Breakfast.
CP: We're going to start with a music legend tonight - Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac has arrived. Stevie Nicks, what did you make of the Oscars?
SN: I'm, well, the part that I saw was great. I only saw like the last forty minutes because stupid me - I watched the On The Red Carpet and then I thought they weren't on for three hours and nobody that was with me told me 'no, they're actually on in the living room'. So I didn't realise they were actually on until my make-up artist came in and said 'Jared Leto just won' and I said 'Well, of course he did but how did you know that? They're not on.' 'No, they're on.'
CP: That is a bungle. What a bungle.
SN: I know. So we-
CP: What bit did you see then?
SN: So about the last thirty five minutes.
CP: So you saw the victory, Twelve Years A Slave-
SN: Yes, I did. At the very end, yes. So of course I'm going to go home and try to pull it up on, y'know, and watch it. Immediately.
CP: Yeah, well, I think - There's Paul McCartney as well. This is absolutely a crazy party.
SN: Oh my gosh.
CP: He's walking behind you as well. What films have you enjoyed this year?
SN: Well, I, you know what? I've only seen a few of them because I, we've been working. Fleetwood Mac just came off a 66, we were just in Europe.
CP: Huge tour.
SN: Yeah. 66 shows. 3 hours per show. So, um, we, I just haven't had much time. I'm just now starting to be home.
CP: Wow. You need to go and catch up.
SN: Yeah, I know.
CP: Hey, before I let you go - will Fleetwood Mac be headlining Glastonbury this year?
SN: When is Glastonbury?
CP: Glastonbury's June.
SN: June. No. We are going into rehearsal, I think, y'know, some point at the end of the summer. I'm not sure. I don't know. We may be going into rehearsal, we may not be-
CP: Ah, disappointing.
SN: -I'm not sure.
CP: Listen-
SN: But one day it'll happen.
CP: One day it'll happen. Stevie Nicks, thank you very for talking to us.
-
And a couple of mentions from an account of the VF after party from http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303630904579417560620701126
Lady Gaga schmoozed with Donatella Versace and Stevie Nicks. "Wasn't that amazing?" asked Anna Scott, the wife of Vanity Fair's editor, Graydon Carter of the Versace/Gaga/Nicks triumvirate.
But it's always the wild-card guests that get the celebrities excited. This year, that responsibility fell on the shoulders of ice dancers Charlie White and Meryl Davis. Angelica Huston couldn't keep her hands off their gold medal and dragged them into the now legendary Vanity Fair photo booth for a few pictures. Ms. Nicks, who was wearing her "American Horror Story: Coven" jewelry, talked their ear off. "I rented a little house in Malibu and watched the Olympics every day from 11:30 to 4," said Ms. Nicks. "It was amazing. I miss it."

^ That's interesting. Stevie knew they weren't doing Glastonbury just because of the date. If he had said Glastonbury was in September, she might have answered differently.
Also, her saying they may be going into rehearsals and may not be kind of scared me.
Thanks for posting.

I know nothing about fashion, but I also agree. So much black, all the time. It's starting to look so stale and dour. When and why did develop an an aversion to color? Even with just a little effort, a little change, she could look younger, with a fresher vibe. Yeah, she really needs a new stylist. Stevie appears to be taking very good care of herself, and looks so healthy these days. It's a shame her wardrobe doesn't take avantage of that.
like most of us of a certain age.......a little weight goes on around the waist. I think Stevie believes wearing Black makes you look slimmer!

I always loved the exquisite hand-embroidered or hand-beaded pieces she wore over her basic black ensembles. I agree they add the glamour that befits her position. Too funereal these days.

If memory serves me correctly, Jared Leto's was the FIRST award of the show. She could have easily watched most of the Oscars. Either it takes a very long time to do Stevie's makeup and she can't watch while it's being done, or that was just a BS answer. My money is on the latter.
I'd love to know Stevie's reaction when and if she saw Kim Novak walk out to present. I know I was shocked. Definitely a good reason not to overdo the plastic surgery.
Other than that I thought Stevie looked radiant at the Vanity Fair party, although the black is becoming a little tired. Maybe she really is a witch or, a NUN!

I don't think Stevie was getting her make up done. Who knows what she was doing. It's just that they didn't come back and tell her that the show was on and she didn't realize it. When her make up artist told her, maybe she was just coming to START doing Stevie's make up.
Kim Novak. It is better to have loads of wrinkles than to look like that. You don't look younger. You don't look human. Why do people do it? The comedians always joke that you can't open your mouth with the botox, but Kim really could NOT. No joke. If Stevie ever had done what Kim had, she could not sing.

Bottom line is that Stevie was just preoccupied, or more interested in watching/doing something else and had to act like she was interested in watching the Oscars when asked about it. Kind of like how she told a reporter that it was her first time at the Vanity Fair after party because all the movies were just soooooooooooo good. well, i don't think any of these people go into plastic surgery thinking theirs will be the botched one. if Kim Novak's lower part of the face was not that horribly botched, she would still look way too young for 81 but people would be probably saying how great and young she looks. sadly, especially the celebrities and especially women are expected to look young and wrinkle-free.
Joan Rivers has no problems opening her mouth after repeated plastic surgeries she doesn't mind admitting to. :D

thanks for sharing - so she was 56 there. you know her face didn't look that smooth naturally at 56, she must have had something done even then. but people may have just accepted that as possibly natural because it was not that obviously botched.
she was 77 here, i guess - http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/vertigo-star-kim-novak-is-fighting-255358
stunning woman, definitely. considering she was willing to do it - or thought she had to - too bad she could not find a better plastic surgeon this time around.

You're welcome. I guess my opinion on it is that although having a good plastic surgeon is essential, it's more that the older you get and the more plastic surgery you've had, the harder it is to regain and keep that youthful, natural look. Michael Jackson is another example of just going too far.

Let's see, 2 months worth of shows spread out over an eight month period where you earned ten million dollars. I wouldn't mind telling people I worked for 66 days last year and made enough money to retire for the rest of my life. I'm sure I could make time to go to the movies though.

Oops, I stand corrected. She said she actually saw a few of the films. Although she didn't name the films or elaborate on them. The thing is, Kim probably doesn't think her face looks botched. Kenny Rogers and Wayne Newton probably don't think theirs does either. They look at themselves in the mirror and think they look young. They look like monsters.
When I weigh the pros and cons and say, "I could look younger or something could go wrong and I could look like a gigantic freak," I think I would avoid the surgery. It's not worth it, because Kim might get hired with wrinkles, but I don't think she's going to get hired looking like that -- unless the point of her role was to play a character with horrible plastic surgery results.
And it's true that there's a cumulative effect like JWD said. They start it when they're 40 and it may make them look better then, but you can't keep doing it for 30 years and not expect bad results.
Honestly, I guess my only concern should be to get the FM people to their next photo shoot, all five still looking like humans.

I wonder what she was doing. Well, I'm glad to think she goes away and does something private, even if it's just playing solitaire, without Karen and everyone always being around her.
As far as being more interested in things, I have to tell you that sometimes we (on the west coast) get shows live and sometimes we don't and I never remember which is which. So, that could have been me. I could have thought the show was tape delayed and that it would start at 8, only to find out it was already on. It didn't happen to me with the Oscars, but it has happened with other shows.
Stop tape delaying shows. With social media, it's become an antiquated practice. Show me things whenever the people in NY are seeing them.
