Thanks for the heads up Elle. This vid connected me to two more from that interview I had not seen yet.

I'll believe it when I see it. I think she'd get terribly, terribly bored sitting at home drawing. She seems to like constant changes of scenery, and she lives for the adventure of being a rock star. I'm filing this under the "Rhiannon Movie" category of bullsh*t. :p

I agree Louie.

Well, the fact that she doesn't draw very well is also an issue.

Ultimate Classic Rock, by Chris Epling 2-8-14

In the fourth installment of our exclusive video interview with Stevie Nicks, the fabled rock ‘n roll songstress discusses how her creativity is inspired by her surroundings.

“If I ever decided to make another real album, like ‘In Your Dreams,’” she tells Ultimate Classic Rock. “I think that we would have to move — but that’s alright — because I am a creature of environment…I think that a new house will probably bring a whole new set of new ideas and new fun, exciting adventures.”

Nicks suggests that one of those adventures could be art. She envisions continuing her singing career for about another six or seven years and then devoting more time to another artistic passion of hers, drawing.

“I’m not going to say like ‘I’m an artist,’” she continues. “Because it’s not like I’m Van Gogh or anything, because I’m not. But I have a lot of beautiful drawings, and I’ve kept them away from the world. I would really like to show them to people. I look forward to that.”

You can watch the interview above.

She really is trying to follow in the footsteps of Grace Slick eh?

On the other hand, she doesn't write very well, either. But her self-epithet all these decades has been "poet."

Stevie brings passion and seriousness to all her endeavors. That's some of what I like about her (even if all her endeavors are squarely in the Masscult category).

If someone else said, "I love Game of Thrones and Taylor Caldwell and Glee and Twilight and Taylor Swift and Vanessa Carlton, yadda yadda," we'd think, "Oh, just a perky young teen." But since it's Stevie Nicks saying it, we think, "What a mystical revelation of true genius! Let us reappraise!"

And she's not a poet, but those leanings have often made her a great lyricist. Her words capture mood and emotion. Aplet? I didn't realize there was a word for that thing on my shoelace. That's what Stevie does sometimes, she chains words together that can describe that nick inside, the catch in the throat that you wouldn't think could be articulated.

I doubt her sketches can achieve that.

With her drawings, I would definitely be anxious to see anything she's done of the band members, including herself.

When it comes to horses and witches, I'm not that interested.

I like Stevie's art. It's very whimsical and colorful and it's not technical or realistic but I find it appealing.... maybe only because I can't do it. I can't draw anything that's not something I've seen before.

I don't think she's a poet in the classical sense, but what sets her apart from everyone else who have similar aspirations is how prolific she is and her willingness to put the work out there for public scrutiny. Obviously some of it will be impressive and a lot of it will be crap. But inevitably, when you have the raw talent, the quality writing shines through and reaches an audience.

I have three writers friends, two who won't share any of their completed work because they're afraid of others criticizing it. So they only let selected people, a small pool of literary agents, see the work in any form. Those two have yet to be published even though they have been trying for years. My third friend, who just writes in every spare moment, compiled the best of his writings, shared it on Facebook and with friends, received feedback, and published independently last year. Now he has a growing audience.

Well, to each his own. I've seen Stevie's drawings and think they are beautiful. She's not classically trained, but her drawings are very whimsical (she loves angles) and creative.

I agree. I find them simple, but beautiful.

Same here! I actually think Stevie's style is pretty damn good and unique for someone who is not a trained or practiced artist. I would love if Stevie released some of her drawings and I think the general public would find them highly artistic. Sure, true artist would probably say her drawings are smut and only popular because of her name, but I don't think it would be a completely valid assessment. Marilyn Manson is by no means Van Gogh, but he has a unique style and his art has actually been pretty well received which I think would be the case with Stevie.

That being said, it will never happen. Stevie has been saying the same art/rhiannon movie/write a book in X amount of years for so long it is nauseating. I hate that its always some big planned out in the future thing for her and she assumes she has to stop recording music to do any of these projects.
