So I just started getting into this show and been watching it through netflix and I am surprised at how much I like it. I am almost done with Season 2 and I like it so much better than Season 1 and I think that's because I didn't feel any sort of emotional attachment in the beginning with the characters. Its like I felt they had no depth at first but Season 2 has changed all of that. I love the music and the way it's used in this show and I think its funny that in Season 2 when Julie is getting her face fixed and she is dreaming about how her other life would have gone and then the angel of death comes to see her. I guess Ryan Murphy likes to re-use that theme a bit since he had the angel of death in Season 2 of American Horror Story.
I still cant believe I never gave this show a chance when it was on but I cant wait to see what happens in the next season. I feel like so much has gone on already, I don't know how it will all play out.

lol yeah it is pretty freaking crazy and if i never saw american horror story i would be more shocked but that show has desensitized me so much that nothing is strange anymore -ha! there is a lot of sex in it though that's for sure.

Sean McNamara and Christian Troy are two plastic surgeons running a partnership in Miami, Florida with different issues to life. Sean is a wishy-washy, weak-kneed, family man who distances himself with work to avoid his dysfunctional home life which includes his needy and spiteful wife Julia, his rebellious teenage son Matt and young daughter Annie. The more slick Christian is an arrogant, narcissistic, unethical, ladies man who worships wine, women, and the all mighty dollar, and will do just about anything to get what he wants (lie, cheat, steal, blackmail and seduce)and has no qualms about practically anything.

There is a lot more to it then what IMDB says but that description gives you the idea. Its so interesting to me how far people will go to get plastic surgery and that they will even risk their lives to do it. If you are the squeemish type then dont watch this show they are always doing surgeries and some of the stuff going on is pretty gruesome. I always make the mistake of watching it while eating lunch - ugh!

I remember that when "the Carver" started to appear on the show it got really creepy I thought. But maybe you have not gotten that far yet, don't remember what season that was. Scary like hell though......and I am already afraid of the dark as it is :)

I just finished Season 3 and that was the one with the carver. It didn't scare me but I had fun trying to figure out who it was. I didnt like how that whole thing ended though with that plastic surgeon and the cop. It just seemed so strange to me that they got away with it all. I really thought Season 3 was so very good though. This show is highly addictive and f-ed up but then again after watching 3 seasons of American Horror Story I dont think anything really surprises me anymore -ha!

I was committed to the show by that point, so I stuck with it to the very end, but now when I rewatch the DVDs I always stop with Season 3. Obviously, everyone is different so hopefully you'll like it!

That seems to be the general consensus that the show went downhill after Season 3. I am 4 episodes into Season 4 and I like it a lot so far but then again I still have 11 more episodes left. I love Sharon Gless so looking forward to seeing her in this show. Is she in Season 5?

Glad you're liking the season! I guess I was used to there being lots of plot twists and shocking season finales after the first 3 seasons, and from what I can remember, most of that was gone.

Yeah, I think Sharon Gless was in Season 5 (or maybe it was 6?). It's the same season that Bradley Cooper was in. She did an excellent job with her character, and I thought she even helped get the show back on track to its old ways a bit.

Yeah I think I like Season 4 because its fairly normal and nothing too crazy going on if that makes any sense. I don't need it to be shocking or have any crazy plot twists I have American Horror Story for that -ha ha!!! Thats great that Sharon Gless was so good on the show I just love her. Cagney & Lacey is one of my favorite TV shows ever. I just got the box set for Christmas. I started watching it when I was 10 and love it even more all these years later -ha!!

This show was great. A crazy envelope pusher. Towards the end of the series however, I think it was just more about shock value and a kind of night time soap than looking to be a edgy series. Still I followed it thru to the end. I also have a major girl crush on Famke Jannesen (I think I spelled her last name right) she is a perfectly wonderful BITCH on this show!!!

yeah some of the stuff that happens i am like wtf but yeah this show is pretty freaking great! i am 9 episodes into season 5 and i really loving this season as much as season 3. the whole kimber/matt drug thing was sad and then when matt was in the fire i was pissed off at him for being such a jackass and always wanting help but glad to see he is getting his crap together. i cant help but be happy that julia and christian finally try to see how their relationship will go but not sure how all of that will end since christian cant seem to keep it in his pants -ha!
that whole thing with Famke Jannesen was totally nuts! lol i was laughing so hard when christian realized she was a man but her being with her son and then matt was just so creepy that i was glad when it ended. she was perfect in that role though she was such a uber bitch -ha!!

Yeah I am kicking myself for not watching this show when it aired! Lol I feel the same way about Kimber its like I want to slap her then I feel bad for her but I love her in the show she is great! I hated Gina the entire time though she was such a bitch so I was totally fine with Christian throwing her off the rooftop -ha!! I agree with you about Matt though. I remember finding that scene incredibly disturbing and difficult to watch...and I love horror and sick stuff! :laugh: But something about it made me very uncomfortable. About a week ago (since I was participating in this thread), I watched it again on YouTube...same reaction! I think it's just the helplessness of him being tied down and knowing that if someone held your nose like that you'd have to open your mouth, too. But I guess that means Gless did a great job!

ha ha yeah it does. i was just so glad they killed her because she was just so freaking annoying just when i thought she was gone she would pop back up again. yeah sharon gless's character to me was just so strange i am still trying to process it -ha! they made Donna Mills the cat woman because that is what she wanted but it turned out she had bi-polar!

you know for some reason that scene didnt bother me at all but i was uncomfortable when she was hitting on sean it was just so strange and embarrassing to watch -ha! a few things that i thought were disturbing was that one lady in se ason 5 that sliced off her own breasts because christian wouldnt do it for her as well as the guy that wanted a reduction because he couldnt stop sucking himself off. lol a few seasons ago when they did a lip transplant and put the lips down there on the lady i was like wtf?!
i think season 5 is my favorite though so far with all the crap that went down with Eden and Julia, Julia and Christian, Liz and Christian getting together and Christian getting breast cancer and told he is going to die in 6 months and him marrying Liz. I love that after he married Liz he found out that they mixed up the bloodwork and that he is going to live. Good stuff there!! Kimber really annoyed me though with injecting collagen into her baby's lips. I swear this show just knows no bounds and just when i think it cant get any crazier they do something else that is just so insane -ha ha!!
