I vote hot. Hottest FM coupling possibility.

But I'm going to go ahead and break the rules and say me. I really can't see him with anyone else  :blob1:

Ha. I saw Sandra getting herself in there.

To both Sandra and Sheryl Crow I was thinking, keep your hands to yourself.

As for Christine or Stevie, they can both have him.

I didn't know how to vote. I can picture them trying it and then quickly and awkwardly deciding to remain friends/colleagues and not tell anyone about what they just did.

That's really all I can imagine.

But then, I'm a weird fan. I can't even really picture Stevie and Lindsey as a couple, with the personalities they both have. I mostly like Lindsey with Kristen.

obviously his relationship with Kristen works well, however much hordes of shippers don't want to see it. as Christine also corroborated, he's so much more settled and happier person now. and he's churning the music for us like crazy, compared to his output over earlier decades. so it sounds like a win-win for everybody - for him and for us.

i could imagine stevie and lindsey together when they were young and hot plus saw career possibilities in being together (landslide comes to mind). i cannot see them now, seeing how different their characters, interests, and lives seem to be these days.

given FM's lifestyle in their heyday, i don't see the possibility that something didn't happen between christine and lindsey, even if it was just a little roll in the hay that they may not even remember, considering how high or drunk they seemed to be so much of the time.

Well, Looking at the old footage, maybe there was something between those two. For example in the Mirage concert we see a certain complicity, but also in other clips. It was not improbable in my opinion.

I'm so surprised by the responses! When I see the Mirage footage- I see the kiss, the jamming, etc. The thing that is so obvious to me (and this may be unique to myself based on the comments so far..) is that he's flirtatious with her only in the context of ignoring/and or attempting to alienate Stevie. There was A LOT of passion in some of that Mirage footage, but it wasn't between LB and Christine.

Finally some good threads over here!!! (just joking)...

Let's pretend he's not married for a moment.

I voted yes, and if any secret could have been kept, it would be that one. Mick and Stevie blab a lot.

They both have amazing music chemistry, and the tunes they collaborate on are amazing.

Mystified
World Turning
Don't Stop (vocals)
Hold Me (vocals)
Isn't It Midnight
Think About Me (vocals)
Eyes of the World seem like theirs too...

I could see him respecting her more than Stevie and Carol etc... And I could see Christine getting a bit more romantic with him. Nothing better than seeing (Buckingham/McVie) after a tune.

Isn't this thread greatly offensive to Lindsey's wife??

What do his kids think about this??

Shouldn't we stop discussing anything about Lindsey with Christine because his children may accidentally stumble upon it during an internet search??

Isn't there tons of evidence that supports the fact that Lindsey is only associated with Christine due to the financial benefits for both of them??

Frankly, it's obvious any chemistry Lindsey has with Christine McVie is all just an act.

"Over My Head"

You can take me to paradise,
And then again you can be cold as ice

You can take me anytime you like,
I'll be around if you think you might love me baby,

Oh I see what you did there. For the record, I think it's possible LB and CM had something going on, only because this was FM and didn't one of them say that they all slept together except for two of the guys (I'm not prepared here CAD I can't even remember the quote).

What makes me sort of "ship" the idea of CM and LB is how fantastic their musical chemistry is. It's perfection. I love the way their voices wrap around each other and the fact that she is an astute musician with a penchant for pop songs, much like LB. Yet she has that calm grace going and Lindsey...well, he's just the opposite on stage. It just seems...hot.

Christine did say OMH was about Linds... so in my mind they definitely slept together. I do believe that they did sleep around with each other but I don't think it was like musical beds "Who's turn is it next". I think there was some passion and maybe some love occasionally but I think for the most of it, it was just harmless.
I ship Buckingham Nicks just as much as the next shipper, but I could see McVie Buckingham being a cute couple... or should i say Perfect I guess
But I can see why nothing really went on because I don't think Chris tolerates anyones bull****. She doesn't take crap from anyone and I respect her for that :)

Well she's certainly writing about his moodiness. Whether she just took his general crankiness to everyone and wove it into a fictional story, or whether he was nice to her sometimes and the dick many think he was/is other times is an interesting thought. Even if the romance never actually happened, maybe she found his moodiness and condescending attitude challenging to work with sometimes.

from what she said in the same interview, he was abrasive and hard to have a conversation with in social situations - unlike now, when he's just lovely. but she said workwise / musically, she and him had great chemistry and got along great.

I think Lindsey had to grow into tolerating social situations. I think his type of personality was not comfortable in an environment where he had to fraternize, only because Lindsey is a very insular person. Mick described him as such and on the "Behind the Music" special his own brother said that it took Linds a long time to compromise. He admitted to his own selfishness and, I'm fairly certain, he never denied he had some issues in his past.

He has come a long way and it's commendable. Artists are complex people and Lindsey fits into that through and through.

They've been flirty at times, in tour footage, in commercials for MTV or what have you. Why wouldn't he find Chris attractive? Why wouldn't he hook up with someone who was sexy, fun, talented, smart, and pretty? It was the 70's and everything was free and loose. They were both attractive and certainly available to each other if they wanted to do anything.

No, no… I totally agree with you.. But just like any two attractive people in the above situation might hook up.. What I mean is, I just don't see him having any passion towards her in any way that I've been able to visualize. I actually do see it very clearly from her to him. Ha. Well, that's pretty perfect, actually. They'd have some stuff they could talk about, perfectly platonically, of course. :D

Interviewer: "Are Gwen and Tony the Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham of the '90s?"
Tom: "Maybe. It's interesting every day. Sometimes I tell Tony, 'you should have just stayed with her. It would be a lot easier. Everybody would be happy, getting along.' But people have to follow their own hearts. I think they still care deeply for each other but it's hard to breakup with your girlfriend and then live with her. That's a tall order. They've done a great job of pulling it off. When we're all together, we get along pretty good."

"If we break up," Gwen remembers,"how can we be in a band together? 'I was like 'If you even see a girl in front of me, I will kill myself. How can we hang out each day, and I can't even touch you?

MTV: "A lot of No Doubt's songs are about singer Gwen Stefani's on-again off-again relationship with bass player, Tony Kanal."
Gwen: "We've been together for years and I think all those songs are about him (points to Tony). We were thinking about putting the record in an order of like, okay, that was the one when we broke up then, and again, and this is the one when you started liking me again. you know what I mean? Each song kind of has a different subject, so we were thinking maybe we should put it in like chronological order that'd be kind of cool."

they probably did.

lol. i actually hate his looks at the time, he's not attractive to me at all with beard and fro. but i thought those outtakes were extremely sexy, the way they seemed to have interacted. maybe because she looked like she was naked laying on his chest, and he was looking at her with such warmth trying to cover her. it kinda reminds me of that old old video of John Mellencamp and that model who became his wife at the time i think her name was Eileen something - you could just see the attraction in that video (can't even recall which song it was), before even knowing they actually got together.

No, I don't think John McVie ever said that.

In her book Carol said that John Courage told her that Lindsey didn't sleep around while on the road.

The context for John's comment was he was jokingly admitting that everyone in the band had slept with everyone else.

Blasphemy! Or is it heresy!? I mean, nearly every period of Lindsey is attractive to me but I LOVED the beard/fro - made his eyes pop and I loved those curls...

Hmm, well, each to their own, eh? I did think it looked like they were enjoying themselves and the photos are gorgeous, but I just don't get any feeling of heat or attraction from him to her besides genuine affection and fondness, that's all.

You know a little protectiveness I've always liked? On the video where she is kind of mock arguing with Mick, Lindsey is just walking by and he doesn't seem to know that they are just joshing. So, Christine is threatening to throw her drink at Mick and Lindsey stands behind her in the background like he's ready to jump in if there's trouble.

Mick tells Christine to throw the drink and he just laughs it off and Lindsey realizes it's just fun and he relaxes and goes on about his own business. But I always got the impression that he was standing there for Christine.

As for Christine being a little protective, I like the "Lindsey is one strong man" video. Stevie says that and both Christine and Stevie shepherd Lindsey off stage at the end of that show where he had his spinal tap. Christine takes the guitar out of Lindsey's hands. Stevie has her hand on his back. I've always loved that little clip.

Also, I love the Tusk photo shoot when the photographer thinks Christine's hair is too flat and both Lindsey and Stevie reach out to adjust Christine's strands. Lindsey does it and then Stevie does it too. It's just such a familiar gesture that it feels intimate, even if it isn't.

Overall though, I think that Lindsey was quite attached to Christine but like a guy who never had sisters and had never had a female friend before and just relishes that different sort of relationship, not like a love interest.

And remember World Turning. Stevie said she walked in and they had written the song together and it upset her, because she and Lindsey had never worked together like that before. When she came in and Christine and Lindsey were already singing the verses they'd created, she was miffed.

And remember World Turning. Stevie said she walked in and they had written the song together and it upset her, because she and Lindsey had never worked together like that before. When she came in and Christine and Lindsey were already singing the verses they'd created, she was miffed.

Michele

The more I think about it, it's almost hard to believe they didn't have a make out session.

No, I don't think John McVie ever said that.

In her book Carol said that John Courage told her that Lindsey didn't sleep around while on the road.

The context for John's comment was he was jokingly admitting that everyone in the band had slept with everyone else.

Michele

I found the quote I was thinking of:
On one occasion, McVie hurled a glass of vodka in the guitarist’s face. “About the only people in the band who haven’t had an affair are me and Lindsey,” he later grimly joked.

However, reading in context, I do think he means that they never had an affair with each other. So yeah, maybe that even makes it more possible for a C & L fling.

^^^ I always thought that's what he meant too.

I have always felt that Lindsey and Chris would make a better couple than Lindsey and Stevie did.

With people outside of FM?

You know, believing that JC said that to Carol, I bet he was being truthful, but as screwy logic as it sounds, I bet that he wouldn't count people within FM sleeping together as being unfaithful to their outside mates.

you can always count on buckheads! ;)

and than there's this - newly unearthed exhibit A (in her own words, Christine's little ode to gorgeous Lindsey):

"Over My Head"

You can take me to paradise,
And then again you can be cold as ice
I'm over my head,
But it sure feels nice.

You can take me anytime you like,
I'll be around if you think you might love me baby,
And hold me tight.

Your mood is like a circus wheel,
You're changing all the time,
Sometimes I can't help but feel,
That I'm wasting all of my time.

Think I'm looking on the dark side,
But everyday you hurt my pride,
I'm over my head,
But it sure feels nice,
I'm over my head,
But it sure feels nice.

do i think Christine has any romantic aspirations on him now? definitely not. doesn't mean she can't still think he's hot and obviously doesn't mind expressing that.

This song is not about him. Nice try, though.

I'm just glad no one is posting that when they went to a hotel bar after the show some roadie -- with the utmost integrity and reliability -- told them they saw Christine and Lindsey having sex on a subwoofer.

No, but you know why I don't think she made that up about OMH, because she said something about it before and I didn't know who she was talking about and I was asking Ledgies, "hey do you guys know who OMH is about, because Christine talked about him and left it very mysterious." At that time, no one had an answer for me. See this thread below. I was trying to get you guys to listen to the audio from the interview and tell me what you thought she meant about OMH, but nothing came of it.

So, now she comes out and says that about OMH and it seems weird. On the other hand, it seems like something she's wanted to say for a long time.

hmm... interesting point. I was just saying that I think JC's job was to say whatever it took to keep things around the band smooth so if he felt that was what Carol needed to hear, he'd say it.

As for your point that they didn't consider sleeping around within the band cheating... possibly so. And of course it seems that would include sleeping with the circle of people around the band as well. Maybe you're right, he was being technically truthful about not sleeping with groupies and such..

I just don't get any feeling of heat or attraction from him to her besides genuine affection and fondness, that's all.

She really wanted him though. She did everything in her power to drive a wedge between him and Stevie, but he saw through it.

Stevie, on the other hand...

Love it! Of the two, I think I prefer Mulan for Lindsey. Plus, Ariel wants out of the ocean, and Linds loves the ocean, so that one may not work out as well, anyways.
