Hey All:
Recently discovered a host of videos from 1996 with Stevie performing live. Anyone have any knowledge on what this was in promotion for? I remember back in 1994 Stevie saying she was done with performing, and then 1997 served as the pull that brought her out. So, what's the scoop on 1996?

April 22, Scottsdale, AZ
July 4, in St. Petersburg
August 24 in Columbus, Ohio
October 12, Boston
(is this all, were there more?)
I guess she just missed performing again?

I attended the very chilly, yet terrific Boston show. I've always wondered about the motivation for those gigs. Some of my theories:
She knew that a FM reunion was in the air; she wanted to keep up her performing chops.
Her accountant suggested that she make a little $$$ in 1996.
Her management suggested that she stay in the game so people don't forget.
Why not? She wasn't doing anything anyway.
She wanted her niece to see/hear Lori sing with her.
Does anyone else have speculations or know the real reason for those gigs?

wasn't this around the time she was in trouble for claiming her wardrobe as a tax write off?
I am guessing it had something to do with the return of her voice, her loss of 70lbs or whatever it was, being on Twister, Party of Five and Boys on the Side soundtrack, doing some tracks with with Don Was and possibly touring on a small scale for the radio promotion just to see if she still had "it".
