Did you give or receive anything interesting musical lately?

Gave the bf: A book about Jimmie Nicol who filled in for an ill Ringo in the Beatles in 1964 (plus assembled some of his pre-Beatles music with Colin Hicks & The Cabin Boys, The Shubdubs, and The Spotnicks to go with it).

Last year I got him The Rising Suns LP from Sundazed as he is a big fan of theirs and knows one of the members. He got me the complete Monkees DVD set.

I got not one, but two, lavishly illustrated Bee Gees books. :eek:

Well, I bought my mom Tracy Chapman - Collection for her to listen to in the car. :lol:

I got a telecaster and amp and case as an early Christmas present back in the fall, if that counts. On actual Christmas I got 2 iTunes cards and a new pair of studio headphones.

Not entirely by my own choice, (the curse of a spousal relationship) but still! ;) Coincidence. She can be fun sometimes.

I sadly didn't get anything music-y this Christmas. I haven't really had any musical discoveries lately, so I'm not even sure what I'd ask for. Oh well. Maybe next year!

Reba has a powerful voice. I like her on some things quite a lot.

I used some money from Christmas to order the Graham Bond 5 disc box set that came out a year ago. That's been the big thing on my want list all this time. I have many extremely divergent musical interests. :sorry:

A CD of classical music (Romanticism: Wagner, Chopin, Berlioz, Beethoven...), and the 2013 deluxe edition of Then Play On for me.

Occasional Ledgie and close friend, Kayli (same name on here), sent me the BN gatefold and Wild Heart on vinyl, along with Cyndi Lauper's book. She's the best.

The BN album came with a Polydor insert advertising other albums from that year. Donnie and Marie were big.
