View Full Version : Happy Anniversary WWD Concert!
32 years ago the White Winged Dove concert was taped on 12-13-81. The first time i was really exposed to Stevie when it aired on HBO in early '82. A long time ago but, imo, her finest hour.

Me too.I loved her in FM at the time but when I heard she was going solo which was a dream come true.
As I keep fussing about on here .This show is way overdue for a legit DVD release with some bonus clips of the concert.
I remember back in 1983 when HBO reruned her concert I happen to borrow a old reel to reel video recorder from my friend and taped a couple of copies of the HBO special.I finally got the VHS copy years later like most of us probably have done.
In the 1980's or early 1990's the Special was aired on my local PBS station even including the backstage cursing footage was aired.I guess Big Bird did not care at that time either.LOL......

To this day I still dont understand why they cut out L&L from the show. The show still be under 60 to run on HBO if the left it in the show.
Anyway where did L&L fall in the setlist that night of the taping.
If they sacrificed the backstage footage for L&L it would end close to the 55 minute run time.I would be upset if they cut out the backstage footage on the show.
I know they ran the L&L video on MTV plus they released it on her I cant Wail video collection later.

I want the entire unedited version. Would LOVE to see Blue Lamp, Bella Donna and Think About It performed live.

If so many of us have been wanting this on dvd for so long I think the record company should hire a fan to find the footage seeing that the record company just don't give a damn about stevie's legacy.

+1 I agree 100 percent on that comment.
She went through hell to get the docu released on DVD.

I just think it's a shame that out of all the exposure stevie has had in recent years that ''her people'' wouldn't want to expose her newer fans to her early solo work. the red rocks concert had been out on dvd for years and that is clearly not her best work compared to what bella donna was.
