Ok I'm allowing myself to go there....it's just too exciting not too.

Common thought is that Christine will get 6-7 songs if this happens. What are your guesses? And what songs fall out of the rotation for LB and SN? Just the deep tracks?

Christine will surely play Don't Stop, Songbird, YMLF, but what else?

Ok, so here's the setlist from the Dance tour:

The Chain
Dreams
Everywhere
Gold Dust Woman
I'm So Afraid
Temporary One
Bleed To Love Her
Gypsy
Big Love
Go Insane
Landslide
Say You Love Me
Sweet Girl
You Make Loving Fun
My Little Demon
Stand Back
Oh Daddy
Not That Funny
Rhiannon
Second Hand News
Silver Springs
Tusk
Go Your Own Way
Don't Stop
Songbird
Farmer's Daughter

I've highlighted Christine's songs in red, obviously. I think it's safe to say Temporary One will be replaced, very likely by a brand new song. The one song of Christine's I really, really hope stays is Oh Daddy.

Farmer's Daughter is a group song, but I see it getting axed, too.

It's my sincere wish the solo songs (Go Insane & Stand Back) will get the ax in favor of either 1) brand new songs 2) classic FM songs (like Sara or Eyes Of The World).

As far as Lindsey goes, My Little Demon is out, probably replaced by a brand new song. Bleed To Love Her may have the same fate... but since it was on the Dance & Say You Will and has Stevie & Christine's voices on both versions, it might just make the cut. Seems like it would be a full circle kind of thing.

Regarding Stevie, Sweet Girl is definitely out, hopefully replaced by a brand new song. I wouldn't mind seeing Sara in the setlist, either... but that probably means she'd have to drop something like Gypsy. So who knows?

Will World Turning count as as Christine song, even though she didn't sing on it in London this year? ;)

I would think she would do: Don't Stop, Songbird, You Make Loving Fun, Say You Love Me, either Over My Head or Oh Daddy, and then possibly one of her TITN songs. So, really probably not that different to The Dance. Given the success of Everywhere amongst the younger generation in the uk, I'd hope she would do that one.

If she threw a curve ball - unlikely as it seems - I'd love Isn't it Midnight...

This is so FREAKIN AWESOME, to just be able to talk about this with it being a plausible reality. Never thought I'd see the day again.

My Little Demon

Oh Daddy

Rhiannon
Second Hand News
Silver Springs

and this year's setlist:

1. Second Hand News
2. The Chain
3. Dreams
4. Sad Angel
5. Rhiannon
6. Not That Funny
7. Tusk
8. Sisters of the Moon
9. Sara
10. Big Love
11. Landslide
12. Never Going Back Again
13. Without You
14. Gypsy
15. Eyes of the World
16. Gold Dust Woman
17. I'm So Afraid
18. Stand Back
19. Go Your Own Way
20. World Turning
21. Don't Stop
22. Silver Springs
23. Say Goodbye

overlaps bolded.

all Stevie's 1997 songs other than Sweet Girl were performed in 2013. additions were SOTM, Sara, and WY.

of Lindsey's 1997 songs BTLH, Go Insane, and MLD were not performed in 2013, and Sad Angel, NGBA, Eyes and Say Goodbye were replacements.

WT was Lindsey/Christine song performed in 2013.

Don't Stop Christine's song performed on both tours.

^^ so unless i'm missing something (quite possible!), in 1997 they were doing 9 LB's, 8 SN's and 7 CM's tunes?? not exactly an equal distribution...

anyway, based on the above comparison and what i finally got through my thick head (i.e. Rumours-era FM setlists NEVER ever change and never will  ) - it is unfortunately very easy to see what we'll hear on any future Rumours 5 tour:

Sweet Girl will be replaced by Sara, everything else will be exactly the same as during the dance.

since LB had 9 songs in 1997, his wings will be clipped down so he'll do 8 the most, and will not do GI (hasn't already this year) or MLD, and will replace these 2 with 1 song - NGBA (which he never skips anymore); and then he'll either add a brand new song or more probably we'll have Eyes again.

I have no personal experience with Christine's songs in the setlist... but looking at their other setlists with her... probably not much change there either.

I know it's a Rumours song and they feel morally bound to perform all of them -- except the shunned IDWTK (which maybe I can get Ryan Murphy to play on American Horror Story) -- but I would love to see Oh Daddy bite the concert dust.

Now, when it comes to rare songs they haven't played, it's easy to get a Tusk song in, past the censors. So, that's our best chance to have a different Christine song make its way into the setlist if it is from Tusk.

I've been thinking about a proposed set-list featuring Christine the last few days and whilst I'm also thrilled about her imminent return, I have concluded that it will essentially set the "greatest hits" routine in stone (with very little room for experimentation regarding rarely performed or new tracks).
If there were 25 songs performed (and we can't necessarily take this for granted), the split would most likely be 8 each plus The Chain (I'd love to see that replaced with The Farmer's Daughter but it seems unlikely). If this were to be the case, I just can't see them dispensing with the following:

Stevie:
Rhiannon
Landslide
Dreams
Gold Dust Woman
Silver Springs
Sara
Gypsy
Stand Back (surely someone will tell her at some point how inappropriate this track is for a Mac concert - maybe Christine has the balls?)

Christine:
Over My Head
Say You Love Me
World Turning
Don't Stop
Songbird
You Make Lovin' Fun
Oh Daddy
Everywhere

Christine's in the unique position whereupon she could easily trot the above tracks out and be forgiven due to her extended absence. However, I would dare to hope for the likes of Think About Me (or anything from Tusk), Hold Me and Little Lies (yes I think they should give this a shot with Lindsey replicating the studio arrangement).

Lindsey:
Monday Morning
I'm So Afraid
Second Hand News
Never Going Back Again
Go Your Own Way
Tusk
Big Love (I'm still holding out for the album version)
Sad Angel

Lindsey might remain a little more flexible than the others since only a few of his tracks were genuine "hits" and he is always more prone to changing things around. It would not be surprising for him to do the likes of Not That Funny, I Know I'm Not Wrong, Eyes Of The World or a selection from the Say You Will album. If I had my way, he'd just play all of his songs from the Tusk album and ditch the staples.

Therefore, I don't imagine we'll be treated to Fireflies, Warm Ways, Save Me A Place, Honey Hi, That's Alright, Book Of Love, Straight Back, Wish You Were Here, Seven Wonders, Tango In The Night, Isn't It Midnight or Thrown Down... more's the pity.

Considering they did 26 songs on "The Dance" tour, I think they could give each singer eight songs, plus count "The Chain" and "World Turning" as band songs. Since this isn't quit the big reunion, I'd like to see them take some daring chances in the set. There are about 14 songs they pretty much have to play, but that leaves twelve songs they can kind of go crazy with. Here are my choices:

Say You Love Me
The Chain
Dreams
Love Shines
Peacekeeper
Rhiannon
I'm So Afraid
Thrown Down
Book Of Love
Everywhere (actually, I'd rather have "I Do," but that'll never happen)
Sad Angel
Gold Dust Woman
Calumny
Big Love
Landslide
Get Like You Used To Be ("O.K. Ken?" version, with just Mick, John, and Christine playing)
Without You
World Turning
Steal Your Heart Away
Straight Back
Tusk
You Make Loving Fun
Go Your Own Way

Twisted
Don't Stop

Never Forget

Another idea I had was to do a proper tour for "Tango In The Night," since they never really did that with Lindsey. But,they couldn't play anything that came after 1987:

Tango In The Night ->The Chain (i.e. the In The Back Of My Mind -> The Chain from 1990)
Say You Love Me
Dreams
Second Hand News
Gypsy
Everywhere
Seven Wonders
Caroline
Isn't It Midnight
Rhiannon
I'm So Afraid
Gold Dust Woman
Big Love
Landslide
Mystified
Family Man
World Turning
Little Lies
Sara
Tusk
You Make Loving Fun
Go Your Own Way

Stand Back
Don't Stop

You & I, pt II

Brown Eyes is probably my favorite Christine song, likely my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. But it was just DULL live. On the other hand, Over & Over really came to life onstage. I think I'd die if they dusted off Think About Me.

It looks like Lindsey was trying to get another EP out, even if Christine hadn't returned. I can't imagine there not being one if she does, since the threshold for making it happen will have lowered substantially. Because all he'd have to do is get Chris to sing on it and she and Mick have said that she's written some songs herself, to add into the mix.

An EP (at the very least) is not etched in stone, but neither is her return. Yet.

Gold Dust Woman
Sara
Stand Back
Silver Springs

Lindsey:
I'm So Afraid

Eyes of the World

Christine:
Everywhere
Say You Love Me
You Make Loving Fun
Don't Stop
Songbird
Oh Daddy
Over My Head
either Brown Eyes or Isn't It Midnight... or possibly World Turning (especially since Mick needs his showcase drum solo)

in bold are songs set in stone (i.e. the ones that history has shown us they will never ever change). that means that if they each get 8 songs, maybe there is a room for Stevie to change 1 song, Lindsey 2, and Christine 3.

the only thing i see stopping that is if John's health turns to worse.

Christine has not only written, but already recorded several songs (what did she say? 3? 5? can't remember and lazy to search). and we know MoM have also recorded additional 5. they just have to add each others' vocals, tweak them some, and they are done. Lindsey and Christine both want to put new songs out... the only thing that can stop that is band politics.

I mostly agree with you, but I don't think Silver Springs is totally etched.

Then too Everywhere. Common sense dictates that they should play it because of the pony, but they're kind of psychotic. They would find an odd reason NOT to play it. I'm kind of proud of myself because I mentioned Mick's VIP package and that got Fleetwood Mac mentioned on a podcast and one of the hosts said that now that Christine was returning, he'd go see their show because Everywhere is his favorite song.

Also, I know you didn't bold it, but Eyes of the World is very iffy, to me.

i was shocked they did Eyes again on this tour. but i think that was because to keep the pace in the set with just Stevie's and Lindsey's songs, basically ALL his songs they use need to be rocking or midtempo, since she has practically none. when Christine is there, she has a mix of different tempo songs so it can free him to do something slower instead of Eyes. (did i mention Walk A Thin Line? )

Yes, I don't think we'll have 9 minute stories with Christine there.

I will miss them a great deal though, to be honest.

I don't know if you can count on Christine's wit to save anything. Every time Lindsey asked, "isn't this weird" she answered "that is pretty weird" just like she did on the DVD. You'd have thought she would switch it up a little, since he wouldn't.

I never understood why you perceive it that way. "Little Lies" is not the ABBA song. "Everywhere" is. Maybe it's even too wimpy to be ABBA. It's more Leo Sayer. No wait, he's even more rock than "Everywhere". There is no song ever recorded that is less rock and more glossy pop schlock than "Everywhere".

I would say that Little Lies is not a bad song, it's just done very bad things to FM's reputation. It's not actually facile musically. Just the chorus ruins it.

So, I have no problem with it in my own home, but I don't want it out in public. This is the last tour for all of them (probably) and to open up my paper twice a week and read all the catty Little Lies reviews would be kind of sad. Even though I don't think Little Lies is thoroughly awful, I find Everywhere superior to Little Lies in almost every way.

I kind of agree with you about TITN songs, although it breaks my heart not to have this line up ever do Isn't it Midnight.

Lindsey said that he didn't watch them perform without him (not even when he appeared at the BTM shows), so I imagine he might have no idea how Isn't it Midnight can sound live.

SYLM was such a hit on The Dance tour, I don't know why they'd omit it.

If Christine could sing it on her own or with Lindsey, the way she did on the rough demo, that would be a-ok. The Mirage tour rehearsals for Hold Me were abysmal.

If this reunion does happen I think the setlist will be very similar to the Dance tour. The only exceptions I could see is dropping the new material that was on the Dance (Except for maybe BTLH) and if there is new material they will some of the new songs. Personally I could do without any solo songs from the band members and I would like it if they really dug deep but I doubt they will.

My setlist would be the following. I am not going to include any new material slots but I will include some of the standard songs they play virtually every tour.

1. The Chain
2. Dreams
3. Everywhere
4. Seven Wonders
5. Gold Dust Woman
6. I'm So Afraid
7 Bleed To Love Her
8. Rhiannon

26. Farmers Daughter or Crystal would a nice surprise.

I left out some staples and even reluctantly put in songs I am sick of hearing live (NGBA, BL, Tusk, WT) simply because 1) they will likely be in the setlist and 2) For the songs where she would be singing having her back might make them sound fresh. At this point any song they have not over played or played at all live would be welcome in the setlist. I am not a fan of NTF but when they did it this year I was happy as it was something that had not been performed in 16 years. Same goes for SOTM.

The problem is once again they will cater to the casual fans so I am sure that with a few minor tweaks the Dance Setlist will be what is done for the next tour should there be one.

If this reunion does happen I think the setlist will be very similar to the Dance tour.

If they reunite and record a full album & tour behind it it's possible they may perform half a dozen NEWsongs...Stevie did this with IYD and may push for FM to do the same...

yes Rumours-era line up did that with every album they had out, right? at least SYW they had 6+ new songs.

Lindsey had 6 new songs during SWS tour, and i think every single one of his solo tours actually (other than OMS which was not the tour to support new album). and he did 6 songs that nobody ever heard before at Saban. and a number of previously unreleased songs for Soundstage.

they did 2 new songs before EP was out too, on the current tour.

so there's a lot of history there, and one can with certainty say that if they have a new album out they'll do at least 6 new songs from it.

I agree. I am just speculating that they may do a tour first or maybe just a live one off date and then either release that and tour or go into the studio and cut new material and then tour. It is hard to say what they will do. I want new music but not if takes them years to get it out.

if they are booked for glasto they'll do some touring in 2014. but plenty of time to finish that album before june.

i really can't stand the thought of years and years of mac touring. my wallet can even less.

but i do want to see them perform with Christine. preferably with some new material instead of that old tour i've seen throughout this year.

I know that the Mac like to have a really big punch at the beginning of their concerts like Monday Morning, or the Chain. Since Christine will most like be coming back, I propose they open with Believe Me. They could share different verses with all three of them. and still get the Chris vibe that she's back! It would be one big "Guess what? The Mac is back!" to the audience, and a prominent return for Chris to the stage, plus Lindsey the orchestra leader can have his big intro sound.

While I'd love believe me, the more realistic and I would put a lt of money on it if Christine comes back is say you love me for the opening song.

SpyNote

I never understood why you perceive it that way. "Little Lies" is not the ABBA song. "Everywhere" is. Maybe it's even too wimpy to be ABBA. It's more Leo Sayer. No wait, he's even more rock than "Everywhere". There is no song ever recorded that is less rock and more glossy pop schlock than "Everywhere".

I think most people hate on TITN because it sounds so dated today. But all of Christine's songs are great -- pop masterpieces. When FM did "Everywhere" for The Dance, it sounded fantastic, and made me pine for more of Christine's songs from that album.

For Christine's return they might open with the Chain, although for the first song, the crowd is so excited just to see them that the choice of first song becomes secondary, getting lost in the rush. So they should save The Chain for the second song so that it can be properly welcomed, but I could see them opening with it, as a statement.

They've had a different opening song then the chain on both the previous tours. Monday morning in 09 and second hand news this year. And really while the impression is the chain has been their standard opener forever it's really only opened three tours. Time the dance and say you will. I think the fact that it opens both the mirage and tango videos gives us the allusion it's had this super long opening song streak. Those videos do a great job disguising that second hand news and say you love me were played first.

I know it hasn't always been their opener, but I think they would want to use it this time as an acknowledgment of the fact that the 5 are reunited. It would be more of a message than in previous tours. It's really nice on The Dance dvd.

i'd love to hear more SYW songs period.

i've only heard live BTLH and Come. both were spectacular.

i'd like to hear Destiny Rules, Murrow (which was the standout song on Lindsey's Soundstage, imo, but i have no clue what CM may add to it)... audiences have been calling for Peacekeeper, that may be different with Christine added. FM did Red Rover live, right? was that any different than solo version?

my favorite SYW song is Love Minus Zero cover. but i didn't necessarily love live versions i've heard.

CONFESSION: I never really liked the song all that much until I heard them do it during the 1987 tour. I've liked Fleetwood Mac's live versions of it ever since (they give it that intangible "something extra" that Stevie's solo band doesn't...maybe it's that Fleetwood Mac's versions are more guitar oriented than keyboard oriented.). The song really kicks...it's the one Stevie Nicks song that really rocks (now that "Rhiannon" has been mellowed down to blah-ness). Pretty similar to Christine's "Isn't It Midnight" being her big rocker tune. (even "You Make Loving Fun" pales in comparison)

This is a good argument for Isn't It Midnight. I hope that song isn't completely off of Lindsey's radar and that Christine and Stevie liked it well enough when they did it in concert to remind him about it.

I was making one last year - known as the "Pipe Dream Setlist" since Christine was so adamant about leaving the business. :-D

After some consideration, I think this would be amazing. Also, this is my first idea...I'll probably hash out others soon.

Opening
You Make Lovin' Fun - This would include the alternate version/Rosebud film arrangement
Big Love - FM would flow into this via a short solo from Mick
Dreams
("Welcome back, Christine!")
Spare Me a Little of Your Love

Tusk Suite
Think About Me
Save Me A Place - FM comes to the front a la The Dance
Sara

The Later Years
Peacekeeper
Friend
Say You Will
Bleed To Love Her - With traditional Lindsey speech

Lindsey at the Helm
Go Insane (Acoustic) - With traditional Lindsey speech
Landslide
Never Going Back Again

White Album/Rumours
Oh Daddy/I'm So Afraid - This would be a super sweet merge. The keys may need to be altered, but their tempos are too similar not to make this happen
Rhiannon
World Turning
Go Your Own Way

Encore
Gypsy
Don't Stop
The Chain

2nd Encore

Talking total fantasy here, but how great would it be if Fleetwood Mac went on the road and performed Mirage and Tango In The Night in their entirety?! They could be done in order or mixed up randomly each night. Of course, some would groan (rightfully so in some respects) about When I See You Again or Welcome To The Room...Sara or Wish You Were Here or Oh Diane - but it would be so worth it for all the rest. Love In Store as the opener, and You And I, Part II closing the show.

I disagree, good sir! The tempo is appropriate, opens with Mick on the drums, and has the the old GOYW-like build-up with the guitar and Lindsey's vocals. I'd be even more excited if they didn't have the mini-Mac. I could see keeping Brett for additional guitars and additional keyboards, but not on every song. Acoustic guitar on GYOW, SOTM (if it's in the set), Gypsy, ISA, and SYLM; synth on Don't Stop and Tusk.

I'm probably in the minority on this but I think they could actually shorten the set by 10-15 minutes and still keep everyone satisfied. 2 hours 35 min+- is a long time for any band never mind musicians pushing 70. I guess it all depends on how many shows they actually do and how many songs each will perform etc etc.

Anyways, not sure of what the set should or could be but I'd love to hear the following songs from Chris:

Think About Me.
Little Lies
Isn't it Midnight
Over My Head
You Make Lovin Fun

Some songs I could do without on this trek: (unlikely though)

I'm so afraid
Stand Back
World Turning

Must haves for ME:

The Chain
GYOW
Rhiannon

Any additions from Mirage or Tango will be great, and of course a few "new" songs.:)

Someone on the previous page had Storms in their speculative setlist. I think it'd be fantastic with Christine's voice in there. By the end of the Unleashed tour it had really picked up a bit and become less of a slow mover. I would listen to any live version really, but that's partly b/c I missed the 2009 show I had tickets for (still a little angry at the RTA over that mess) and partly b/c I think it's as good as anything SN has written for FM.

I would love it if they included a surprise Christine song, like one of her pre Lindsey and Stevie songs (Why, maybe, or Just Crazy Love), or maybe something (anything :) ) from Tusk. I would even settle for Love In Store, which wouldn't be such a surprise anyway. But I will definitely not be disappointed no matter what. I honestly never thought I'd hear her sing live again. :) :)

Though, like many people have said, what are the chances we get a wide variety with the Rumours lineup. One can dream. It's hard to believe that they'd feel like they have to play the same dozen songs for sure. They're going to sell a lot of tickets based on the 5 member fact alone. Now's the time to throw some curveballs.

I think your setlist is pretty accurate. They may take out Eyes for something else and Hold Me is the one I am questioning. I know Mick told me in 09 that it was almost in the set for the 09 tour but if they nixed it then and also for the 2013 tour I wonder. I really doubt anything reallyy rare will be done. There is a slim chance that Angel will be done since they have pulled out every other Stevie song from Tusk since 03 so it would be logical to pull this one out. Whatever they play I will be happy just to have her back.
I think it's probably going to be the following;

Say You Love Me
The Chain

I think if they did Beautiful Child again but with Chris it could be magical. I just wish they would retire ISA, SB, TUSK, NGBA,BL,Rhiannon, WT and Landslide for something else. They have so much material not performed live that I think it is high time they did other stuff. I like how Tusk has gotten some love but Mirage and Tango have largely been ignored. I am sure with her back Everywhere and Little Lies will be back but what about 7 Wonders or When I See You Again. How about some stuff from Mirage like Love in Store, Can't Go Back, That's Allright. They need to revamp the show desperately.

I'm So Afraid
Gold Dust Woman
Big Love
Landslide
Mystified
Family Man
World Turning
Little Lies
Sara
Tusk
You Make Loving Fun
Go Your Own Way

Stand Back
Don't Stop

You & I, pt II

Oh my goodness, be still my heart. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that idea. But then, any reason for all 5 of them to hold a concert is a blessing.

Not being too creative here, but practical. They have been doing the "35th Anniversary" tour of Rumours.

The 2013 setlist has been:

Second Hand News
The Chain
Dreams
Sad Angel
Rhiannon
Not That Funny
Tusk
Sisters of The Moon
Sara
Big Love
Landslide
Never Going Back
WithoutYou
Gypsy
Eyes of the World
Gold Dust Woman
So Afraid
Stand Back
Go Your Own Way
World Turning
Don't Stop
Silver Springs
Say Goodbye

Two Christine songs are currently being done - let's not count "The Chain"... "World Turning" (co-write with Lindsey) and "Don't Stop".

So, comparing the songs from the first two sets with Christine, Stevie & Lindsey (songs are listed in alpha order, not place in set with Christine's songs in BOLD):

WHITE TOUR 1975-1976
Blue Letter
Don't Let Me Down Again
Frozen Love
Get Like You Used to Be
Go Your Own Way
Green Manalishi
Homework
Hypnotized
I'm So Afraid
Landslide
Oh Well
Over My Head
Rhiannon
Silver Springs
Spare Me A Little
Station Man
Why
World in Harmony
World Turning

Five Christine songs were performed: "Get Like You Used to Be", "Over My Head", "Spare Me A Little", "Why" and "World Turning" (LB co-write)

RUMOURS TOUR 1977-1978
Believe Me
Blue Letter
Don't Stop
Dreams
Go Your Own Way
Gold Dust Woman
I'm So Afraid
Landslide
Monday Morning
Never Going Back
Oh Daddy
Oh Well
Over My Head
Rhiannon
Say You Love Me
Second Hand News
Songbird
Station Man
Tell Me All The Things You Do
The Chain
Why
World Turning
You Make Loving Fun

Nine Christine songs were performed: "Believe Me", "Don't Stop", "Oh Daddy", "Over My Head", "Say You Love Me", "Songbird", "Why", "World Turning" (LB co-write), and "You Make Loving Fun".

And, the last time Christine toured the set was like this - in performance order:

THE DANCE TOUR 1997
The Chain
Dreams
Everywhere
Gold Dust Woman
I'm So Afraid
Temporary One
Bleed To Love Her
Gypsy
Big Love
Go Insane
Landslide
Say You Love Me
Sweet Girl
You Make Loving Fun
My Little Demon
Stand Back
Oh Daddy
Not That Funny
Rhiannon
Second Hand News
Silver Springs
Tusk
Go Your Own Way
Don't Stop
Songbird
Farmer's Daughter

Seven Christine songs were performed: "Don't Stop", "Everywhere", "Oh Daddy", "Say You Love Me", "Songbird", "Temporary One", and "You Make Loving Fun".

2014 Set Prediction:

Say You Love Me
The Chain
Second Hand News
Dreams
Over My Head
Rhiannon
Not That Funny
Tusk
Sisters of The Moon
Oh Daddy
Sara
Big Love
Landslide
Never Going Back
Gypsy
Eyes of the World
Gold Dust Woman
You Make Loving Fun
I'm So Afraid
Stand Back
Go Your Own Way
World Turning
Don't Stop
Silver Springs
Songbird

I think they will drop "Without You", "Sad Angel", "Say Goodbye". I think "Sisters of the Moon" may go and/or "Eyes of the World" with the possible addition of one or two new songs, contingent on new material, since "Sad Angel" and "Without You" were new songs. Also, I think it's possible they may try to end with "Farmer's Daughter" although, I think it's more appropriate to let Christine close.

Personally, I hope they will go way back and surprise us with "Why", one of my favorites and also a perfect example of how the Buckingham Nicks & McVie harmonies came alive. Another great throwback - if Christine did "Get Like You Used to Be". I don't hold out hope for either of those, but for the sake of all things nostalgic it would be really cool.

This all really depends on if we think there will be 2 tours coming or just 1.

Are we getting

Shorter tour
Album
Longer tour (possibly billed as a farewell tour)

Or are we getting

1 Big Tour
and 1 Album

If it's 1 Tour, 1 Album, we have to add a few new songs to the mix.

If it's 2 tours, the first tour likely will be a Greatest Hits type of affair, with the next tour being the one with 3-6 new songs mixed in.

I don't think the set will ever be too drastically changed. This band doesn't really ever do this - I think we will see a mix of the 1997-2013 tours. A lot of old favorites, the warhorses, and a small handful of surprises.

Here's my take...no solo songs, 26 songs (same as 97), did not put any placeholders for new songs, and nothing from SYW (I just don't see them doing any SYW songs...maybe BTLH or SYHA, maybe...)

Tango in the Night
Say You Love Me
Monday Morning
Dreams
Spare Me A Little
Seven Wonders
Everywhere
Second Hand News
Angel
Hold Me
Rhiannon
Songbird
Big Love
Landslide
Walk a Thin Line

Great selections guys.

I see a 3 hour shows now with Chris present with the selections mentioned here already.Start time should be at 7:30 pm local time so they hit the stage by 8pm and dont worry about the 11pm curfew BS stopping the show.

Thank goodness they they not been having opening acts eating up the stage time anymore.

Also it would be nice to throw in a medley of the older FM tunes in the setlist to make the older fans happy.

It was fun to read this thread, seeing everyone's dream set lists. :)

Sadly, I think Elle is right. There will not be much change to the existing set list, except for the obvious addition of Christine's songs. If they do indeed release an album before the tour, they might add one of Christine's new songs. But I doubt that they are going to rehearsal many new songs.

I think the final set will look something like this:

1. Second Hand News
2. Say You Love Me
3. The Chain
4. Dreams
5. Everywhere (or new Christine song)
6. Sad Angel
7. Rhiannon
8. Not That Funny
9. Think About Me (Christine song from Tusk)
10. Sara
11. Big Love
12. Landslide
13. Never Going Back Again
14. Without You
15. Over My Head

21. Stand Back

24. Don't Stop (Christine back on lead)
25. Silver Springs
26. Songbird

I know FM would never do this and I know I should decry the commercialism of the very idea, but I have to admit that I would get a kick out of it if they did Everywhere with the video of the moonwalking pony in the back.

I don't think they'd have to pay money to use that clip, because it's just free publicity. And I don't think they'd show the whole commercial, just a snippet of the backwards dancing. I should be ashamed, but it would TICKLE me.

With Landslide, the audience already brings their own emotion to the song. It's kind of sentimental to them even before they ever set foot in the venue and has been for a lifetime. They're already crying by "I'm getting older, too."

Maybe not the ideal place for the comment, but it does involve a setlist swap. Considering the story on AHS:Coven is that Seven Wonders will be played/performed during the episode, is there any chance we see it replacing a Stevie song in the set? (I'd love it to be in place of Stand Back already.) Maybe Christine being around will make her realize she has lots of other songs...:wavey:

I'd prefer to have a song written by Stevie than Seven Wonders in concert.

I mean, it's a song that casual fans recognize, but still ...

I totally understand the sentiment, but I'd rather have Seven Wonders than many of the songs Stevie chooses to sing instead.

Not rotating intentionally, I don't think. Certainly not the Rumours lineup. They're control freaks.

They've chopped and changed through a tour, dropping things and occasionally bringing a new song in on a second leg.

Basically, there are fourteen songs they HAVE to do (see below), which means they could still give us twelve "obscure" tracks.

Say You Love Me
The Chain
Dreams
Everywhere (done every tour with Christine since its release)
Rhiannon
I’m So Afraid
Gold Dust Woman
Big Love
Landslide
Tusk
You Make Loving Fun
Go Your Own Way
Don’t Stop
Songbird

Would be great if the band varied the setlist sometimes throughout the 2014 tour. They could keep these 14 songs as their core songs in every set. (Though I'm a tad tired of I'm So Afraid and think Dreams has lost its lustre now that the key has been changed - sometimes Stevie's vocal has an overly nasal twang too) Then just vary the other 12 songs every two weeks, for example. If every two weeks is too much, then maybe once a month, or even just a different 12 extra songs for each leg of the tour (USA/Canada, UK/Europe, Australia/NZ) added to the core 14 tunes.

That version is so frikkin' boring in concert now. Soooo overplayed. Mick should interrupt in the middle of it and stand in front of Stevie's mic with an oversized bongo and pound on that for a 6 minute solo. And then Lindsey can return to the stage and pretend his hand doesn't work, shake it a few times, and finish the song. That would give me enough time to run to the bathroom and back to my seat.:D:xoxo:

i see these posts from time to time on this fan board and they always puzzle me (btw LB first performed BL acoustic in 1993, not 1997).

why would LB drop 2 songs that he performs astonishingly well, that showcase him as an amazing guitarist he is (and his voice is pretty great one these 2 songs too!), and bring him tons of admiring new fans every time he plays them?

Big Love acoustic is a stunning and unique song, that in a way defines Lindsey as a performer. the album version is just another well done pop song. there are many other pop songs of LB's that i would much rather hear live.

The album version is very unique to me and the quirks of this song and the video are some of the reasons I love Lindsey's compositions. Also, the band version has some killer drum parts, bass and keyboard rhythm.

I've seen the acoustic version so many times.. and yes it's stunning.. but so is Songbird.. and I wouldn't mind her change that up either.. with perhaps Givin it Back duet with LB... You're the one that doesn't want to live in the past... :xoxo:

yes. he can drop any other song in the set but these two. including GYOW (which he won't, but just sayin', he can, and did in the past when doing completely acoustic sets).

In my oppinion they should really change the setlist. The show is so stale now it is getting tiresome. When Big Love was performed in 97 it showcased the song in a different way and it was great. The problem is the novelty has worn off since it he has peformed it on every solo and FM tour since. Same goes for I'm So Afraid. The only reason I would welcome any of the songs into the next setlist is that having Christine back singing on these songs is like hearing them for the first time.

They need to stop catering to casual fans and reward the hard core fans who have stuck by them. They could easily do 10-12 lesser known songs or even some past hits they have not done in a while and still have a good show.

If they did 25 songs for this tour that would give them each 8 songs and The Chain as a group number credited to all of them.

Now for the new tour here is what they could do

For SN the 6 songs she could do is
1. New Song
2. Seven Wonders
3. Landslide
4. Rhiananon
5. Angel
6. Beautiful Child
7. That's Allright
8. Dreams

For Lindsey the 6 songs he could do
1. New Song
2. New Song
3. Tusk
4. Go Your Own Way
5. Bleed To Love Her
6. Can't Go Back
7. Never Going Back Again
8. Blue Letter

For Christine the 6 songs she could do

1. New Song
2. Brown Eyes
3. Everywhere
4. Say You Love Me
5. Don't Stop
6. Songbird
7. You Make Lovin Fun
8. Hold Me

The Chain would be the group combo. As I have said before I would take any song they have not performed at all or in a very long time. My Sugestions are merely songs that I think have a chance of being done live. There are great possibilities if they would only take a chance.

 i'm imagining you stomping your foot like a little kid in a fit . ;) :xoxo:

but yeah that's exactly what i'm saying - i think in essence we agree, i've just given up (on FM, i'm still hoping that LB solo will be less conservative and more amenable to changes) - there are some things each of the performers have that they can use to woo the new fans. that doesn't mean they cannot replace other stuff to shake it up a bit. you can have the setlist that can woo in new fans, still give people who want to hear hits plenty to be happy about, and have more than 2-3 deep cuts for the diehards. most other bands do that. bands with more huge hits than FM still don't cover every single hit in their setlist, and they have plenty of deeper cuts too. FM's setlist from tour to tour is so similar that it's almost grotesque.

almost every other band also changes setlist - either slightly or a lot - from date to date. not FM.

NIN was touring the US last fall promoting Hesitation Marks. they rotated all the new songs from the album so that between 3 different dates every new song was performed. makes sense. we could never get that from FM. i kept asking Mick at m&gs about different possibilities of slightly changing the setlist between dates. why not change up at least 2 or 3 songs if you don't wanna change half the set? he looked regretful but said it's never gonna happen.

michelej1

That version of Big Love started on his solo tours and he can take it back there. Let him lure in new fans at his solo shows with that. I think that The Dance made it so famous that still having it in the setlist exactly the same as it was on the dvd is makes the band seem dated. Not to mention that Lindsey always does it when he needs a one off song for a radio show or something. At this point, I think it narrows the general perception of his talents because even casual fans have seen him do it a few times now and it suggests that's all he can do.

Either he can do Big Love with the FM band or he can bring in a new song (or old song that hasn't been played live yet, like Tango) and awe FM audiences in a new way. And if he wants he can put Go Insane (without the band) back in the FM setlist. That's tried and true. People will also recognize that from the Dance, but it hasn't been exhausted like Big Love has. which song would fans here think SN should sing live to woo in new fans, who know nothing about her?

It's really hard for me to say. For Stevie solo, I think EO17 is a song that really takes it home at the end. After she does the Edge walk and then goes back to her mic, I think that's really exciting. I also think the opening drums are hot.

I find GDW the freshest of the Rumours songs. And I know Stevie fans are always talking about how she nails that "go hoooooome". But I'm not sure if that's the song new people leave talking about.

Christine is hard. What song is going to make you run out and want to hear more of her stuff? For me it is SYLM. Right now, maybe it would be Everywhere for most new audiences. Maybe Songbird might do that to new people. I just got off of a blog where someone was talking about Hoffmann's funeral and referenced Songbird. Maybe that song captures you when you're in a melancholy place.

I have to say Isn't It Midnight drew me into an FM concert when Lindsey wasn't there, which is a minor feat, because when Lindsey's not there, do trees even make a sound when they fall in the forest? So, if it's arranged as good as it was back then Isn't it Midnight might have people going, "whoa."

It's really hard for me to say. For Stevie solo, I think EO17 is a song that really takes it home at the end. After she does the Edge walk and then goes back to her mic, I think that's really exciting. I also think the opening drums are hot.

of course not! :D

thanks for indulging me.

just to clarify, i'm not talking about songs that are popular or even that people may have heard before so they are recognizable. i'm talking if someone comes in cold, like that guy commenting on Big Love on youtube, which song(s) would be the one that draws them in and turns them on SN or CM.

i remember listening to"the very best of" in the car with my 10 yo, and when CM song came on she loved it, and having just seen FM concert, she asked me - who is that, and why was she not there?? but i cannot remember which song it was. (of course, it will be a very different song for a 10yo girl than for teenager hipsters or adults.)

(i agree that Everywhere is very recognizable now, especially in UK/Europe. still, Don't Stop is probably by far her most recognizable song, and probably FM's most recognizable song, too.)

No, I know you are talking about something that will nab a new listener. And that's why I said Isn't It Midnight, because it nabbed me at a point in FM's life when I didn't think I could be excited about much.

And I said Songbird, not because it is a concert staple, but because I think the sentiment and rather classic performance of it could make people, NEW people, feel emotional. You leave. It makes you feel a little weepy and maybe it becomes a part of your life, during sad times.

Lindsey you know, I honestly think the way he runs around kind of entices people. His tirelessness takes them by surprise and just makes them say "who is this guy? I mean, I knew there was a guitarist in FM, but I never knew he was like that." It doesn't particularly matter what the song is. IKINW could do it, truly.

I think he can grab new people with the fast numbers more than something like NGBA though. It was lovely once, but I don't think NGBA's got anyone asking to hear more from him these days.

Although, I did see a Q & A just yesterday when someone asked what song was playing in the Bank of America commercial.

Taken in the last day or so according to Twitter...

Absolutely thrilled to see this picture! Christine looking great and hanging with Steve Tyler! I was unaware of the close relationship he has with Mick (I think they are neighbors in Hawaii). Steven has always spoken about Mick with great respect. He's a big fan of the band's blues era.

So it appears that Christine is hanging out with them. Could it be that she is working on songs for a future Fleetwood Mac album? I sure hope so.

ugh, that g**damned clip in her hair! oy.

I was stunned to see her currently wearing that thing in her hair! The only other time I saw that in her hair was in the photo shoot for her 1984 solo album, when that kind of thing was stylish. It seems so dated and out of fashion now. Glad I don't see her wearing it while hanging with Steven Tyler at Mick's house. Maybe she only wears it on special occasions!

I'm sure everyone is tired of me talking about Hold Me. Do you guys think it has a good chance of making the set list?

I think it's one of those songs that they'll decide "doesn't translate to live performance". I wouldn't bet on it, personally.

The same as ALL odds. 50/50. Either they do, or the do not.

Does that mean I have a 50/50 chance of becoming a famous lawyer detective, because I either will or I won't? Cool.

Thinking about it, I might take back my original comment. The only Chris songs we can pretty safely assume she'll play are probably

Say You Love Me
World Turning
Songbird
Don't Stop
Everywhere

Which I suppose leaves a fair bit of wiggle room. Hold Me seems as likely as anything else that's not on this list, tbh.

I wouldn't mind if they skipped it. I really want them to play Isn't It Midnight.

Hold me would do that too! I love both songs but Hold Me was a big hit back in the day and it's still played on classic rock radio stations, the ones that play good classic rock.

Is Big Love the only Tango song they play now? They should do Seven Wonders and Everywhere or Little Lies or Isn't it Midnight, so all three get to play a Tango song.

'Classic rock' !!!! Wow, Hold Me is alright as a song but I've never considered it even remotely in the 'rock' category. For me its such a lightweight pop song- I guess the term 'rock' is very flexible. I don't think I've ever heard it on the radio at all in the UK (though it was never a hit here).

All three playing a Tango song- I like this suggestion. I'll take Seven Wonders, Tango In The Night and Isn't It Midnight please.

You Make Loving Fun is in for sure. Here's what I think:

Guaranteed Additions
Say You Love Me
You Make Loving Fun
Songbird

Basically Promised
Brown Eyes
Oh Daddy

That leaves 2-4 others, depending on what Christine is up for. Don't count out Love In Store from Mirage, which is a little more up tempo if they need that. I'm also hoping for Little Lies and Isn't It Midnight before Everywhere. The excuse that something doesn't work live is bullocks...they are musicians, make it work, change the arrangement up, give us something fresh. There is also Why, which we had a topic about, great forgotten gem that music critics would go crazy about if done effectively. What I don't want to see is the same songs from The Dance when there's such an amazing catalogue to choose from.

I see these two as more band songs than solely Christine songs, as they've been doing them without her:

Already in Set from Before
Don't Stop

Highly Possible
World Turning

I'm pretty confident in saying that they'll play AT LEAST one of the brand new songs that Lindsey & Christine worked on a few months ago.

Unlike the 2009 tour, Fleetwood Mac HAS been pretty good about playing at least ONE new song if they have one to play.

They did a few tunes from SYW in 2003, they played a couple of songs from the iTunes EP.
