Hello all - it's been awhile since I've posted on here - so it's nice to be back! For a long time, I have been intending to try and create a special mix of Stevie's outtake vocal for "Juliet" from the Other Side of the Mirror sessions and a vinyl transfer of "Book of Miracles." I wasn't ever sure if it would even work - but after adjusting the pitch of Stevie's vocals to match the key of "Book of Miracles," the tempos are similar enough that it is indeed successful! So I wanted to share the results with everyone here...

Hope you enjoy!!
Wow...great job! Always wondered what that would've sounded like. Albeit, am sure FM would've changed it up a bit had it been included on the album. The music is kinda redundant but maybe that's because it was meant as an instrumental.

Wow! Just wow. I have tried to sing along with Book of Miracles and it never really worked for me. You did an excellent job. Thank you for sharing it. How wonderful.

Thank you.. glad you like it! The backing track to the finished "Book of Miracles," to my ears, is just the Tango demo for "Juliet" with some guitars taken out of the mix and new guitar parts added. I think the drum track is the same.
I wish I had a more complete "Juliet" vocal isolated to use instead of the one take from the master reels - I'd have more to work with and would probably be better.

WOW. Good work. This is good enough to basically be a bonus track on TITN if there is no actual finished version of Book of Miracles with Stevie's vocals.
IN fact, the sped up vocal matches closely what they did to Seven Wonders to make Stevie sound younger.
I would have taken this over "Whats a mattah' baaaby" any day!

I was pleasantly surprised. It was very good! I never liked Julia but with what you did with this mix with Book of Miracles, I rather quite like it.

Thanks to everyone for the very nice compliments! The fun of sharing stuff like this is knowing others get to enjoy the results. :woohoo:
Does anyone here know if isolated vocals are available for the album version of "Juliet" from OSOTM? If there are and anyone has a vocal track they'd be willing to share, please send me a private message. I would love to do a more complete version of this track with additional vocals.

Really good job remixing these two songs together. BOM and Juliet I rarely listened to on their own, but mixed together as you did made a better song!

Love it! I've tried to sing Juliet along to Book of Miracles but was never able to get it. You did it. Love it.
Years ago I had a friend who tried to splice Stevie's and Tom Petty's Free Fallin into a duet without much success. The tools have really evolved since then. Perhaps Free Fallin the duet should be your next challenge since you are so good at this. Just a thought...

Jeff, this is awesome! I love hearing what "Book of Miracles" could have been for the Tango in the Night album. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, I'm so glad this track is still available to hear! I was looking back at posts from long ago. I just can't believe it has literally been 10 years since I created and uploaded this. That is surreal...
