I have it from a reliable source that this is how the scene with Stevie on American Horror Story: Coven will play out.

In a remote cabin in the woods Misty is dancing around a figure in a long black dress who is tied to a chair. The camera spins around to reveal it is Stevie Nicks herself. After Misty's dance she falls to her knees at Stevie's feet and says "I'm sorry I had to bring you here like this but I had to see you... to talk to you... to learn from you. You are the great white witch and you have so much to teach me. Please, teach me oh great one."

Nicks looks at here intently for a moment then finally breaks the silence with "You have it all wrong, lady. I'm not a witch, I'm a singer! AND I'M NOT A HOT DOG OR A BOX OF KLEENEX EITHER!!!!"

Sorry, I had to do it.

Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks is officially on board for a guest starring role on “American Horror Story: Coven.”

After the show’s co-creator, Ryan Murphy, tweeted this week that the “legendary Stevie Nicks” would be visiting the Coven, he tells “Entertainment Weekly” who she’ll be playing.

“She appears as herself. It’s part of Fiona’s (Jessica Lange) ruse in that Fiona is trying to get the true supreme to reveal herself because she needs to stay alive,” he tells “EW,” adding, “So she brings Stevie Nicks in as a gift to Misty (Lily Rabe) to prove to her that if she exhibits more power she’ll get that and more.”

The character of Misty considers Nicks to be a great witch, which is the impetus for Murphy using eight of her songs in this season of the show, both solo tracks and as a part of Fleetwood Mac.

Nicks will make her guest appearance in season’s 10th episode, which is scheduled to air in early 2014 after the show returns from a winter break.

“American Horror Story: Coven” airs Wednesday nights at 10pm on FX. Are you excited to see Stevie guest star?

That could mean anywhere from Feb.-April.

There's usually a short break around Christmas, probably a couple of weeks, and then it resumes. I expect the entire to season to wrap by February.

Ryan Murphy talks Stevie Nicks, darker witches on ‘American Horror Story: Coven’

American Horror Story: Coven creator Ryan Murphy talks last night’s episode “The Axeman Cometh,” teases whats coming next week, and clarifies Stevie Nick’s appearance on the show.

Before jumping into what happened on last night’s crazy American Horror Story: Coven episode, Murphy cleared the air on the Stevie Nicks appearance. He clarified to Entertainment Weekly that she will be appearing as herself on the series and is actually a ploy for Fiona to find the true supreme.

Murphy says that in episode 10 Fiona brings in Nicks, “She tells Misty Day that the Supreme gets so many great things in life, like tickets to the Oscars and Met Ball tickets. So she brings Stevie Nicks in as a gift to Misty to prove to her that if she exhibits more power she’ll get that and more. Then the other girls come home and see Stevie and Misty singing and it starts them trying to move much quicker to prove that they are the Supreme.”

The show creator also teased that we can expect the characters to get darker as the season progresses, particularly the young witches. While we’ve seen Zoe and Queenie go really dark already, we’ll also see Nan and Madison become darker.

After being resurrected, Madison will face some challenges in next week’s episode, Murphy reveals. “It’s sort of like she’s dead and she can’t feel anything,” says Murphy. “So we’re really are making a leap and saying she’s a poster person for the millennial generation. Unsatisfied. Entitled. Nothing makes them happy.”

He also added that this makes her want to satisfy all of her urges which will make her deadly. Especially to Fiona and Spalding as she seeks revenge.

Who do you think will win the power struggle on ‘American Horror Story: Coven’?

Here's the rest of the story

'American Horror Story': Ryan Murphy talks Stevie Nicks' guest spot and the latest 'Coven' -- EXCLUSIVE

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: First tell me about how the Stevie Nicks thing happened. She’s actually going to appear?

RYAN MURPHY: She appears as herself. It’s part of Fiona’s ruse in that Fiona is trying to get the true Supreme to reveal herself because she needs to stay alive. So she tells Misty Day that the Supreme gets so many great things in life, like tickets to the Oscars and Met Ball tickets. So she brings Stevie Nicks in as a gift to Misty to prove to her that if she exhibits more power she’ll get that and more. Then the other girls come home and see Stevie and Misty singing and it starts them trying to move much quicker to prove that they are the Supreme.

Do you know when this will happen?

It’s episode 10. It’s right when we come back from winter break. I had a really good conversation with her and explained to her what the show was and it’s gotten such a big reaction from people. She said, “Oh I wish I could be on the show.” But she couldn’t because she was traveling with Fleetwood Mac in Europe but then Mick Fleetwood got cancer so they cancelled those dates. Then she called and said, “I’m now available sadly enough. If you wanna use me.” So I said, “Let’s do it!” So she’s flying in for like two days and doing her scenes. I know every person in the show is like, “I better be in that goddamn scene!” It’s funny.

I bet Lily Rabe was freaking out!

She was freaking out. She texted me this morning saying, “Is it true? Is it true?” We’re trying to figure what song she’s going to sing with Misty.

Ok. I vote for Moonlight as the song that she sings with Misty.

Strange.

Not all of course, but so many of the words fit Misty's story:

Some call her strange
Lady from the mountains

She's lonely, lost
she's disconnected
She finds no comfort
In her surroundings
Beautiful, insecure
She has nothing
She moves from situation to situation
Like a ghost
Then she sees him
A candle burning

If he leaves her
He'll be losing the chance
To stay alive

She knows too much to walk away
Strange
She couldn't do it anyway

Strange
She's laid on the floor in silent pain
She knows too much to walk away
Strange
She couldn't do it anyway

Not only because I would love for AHS:Coven to highlight a song from Stevie's more current catalog, but simply put, "Moonlight" is just so perfect for this Misty character.

It would seem from the show that the only Stevie tunes Misty knows come from her 8 track player (this is also why the show is playing nothing but the classic Stevie hits). I am not certain, but I have my doubts that In Your Dreams was/is available on 8 track. :p

LOS ANGELES (AFP) – Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks is to appear as herself on hit US television series “American Horror Story: Coven,” and the show’s co-creator gave details Thursday about how she was hired.

The veteran star will sing at least one song on episode 10 of the TV show, which airs on the FX network, Ryan Murphy said in comments published in Entertainment Weekly.

Nicks, known for her ethereal black lace outfits and the witchcraft-themed 1970s Fleetwood Mac mega-hit “Rhiannon,” had voiced interest in appearing on the show herself.

But she initially could not make it because she was touring in Europe with the legendary band, whose 1977 record “Rumours” is one of the biggest-selling albums of all time.

Then the group’s founder and drummer Mick Fleetwood was diagnosed with cancer, forcing them to cancel the rest of the tour — so Nicks became free.

“She called and said: ‘I’m now available, sadly enough, if you want to use me’,” Murphy told the industry journal.

“So I said ‘Let’s do it!’ So she’s flying in for like two days and doing her scenes. I know every person in the show is like ‘I better be in that goddamn scene!’ It’s funny.”

“American Horror Story: Coven” is the third season of the hit show — which uses the same main cast to tell different mini-series stories — after “American Horror Story” and “American Horror Story: Asylum.”

The current season is set in modern-day New Orleans at a school for young witches, with flashbacks to the 1800s.

You know, even though I skipped Asylum and lost some of the actor continuity, I still am REALLY enjoying seeing the cast from the first season show up in the third season.

It really gives the characters a relationship that is not in the script, because if they were adversaries or allies before, they usually play the same role again. The minute I saw "Myrtle Snow" I knew she would hate Fiona and vice versa, based on the first season. I enjoy that running thread.

I used to watch Nero Wolfe and they used the same cast in different stories every episode and it was delightful.

They should continue to play up the Stevie Nicks thing and the "who's the next supreme" thing right up to the last episode... Save Stevie's appearance for the last episode where she shows up as a guest, brought to town for whatever reason... and the big reveal to end the season would be that Stevie's the new supreme!... End of season! They can leave it like that... Show won't continue so it won't matter who ends up in the end being the new supreme...

I think that would be pretty cool... But she'll have the witch label FOREVER!

She can add this to her resume and could open doors for her on acting.

Surely they will some magic song out of the hat for the piano song. Maybe it will be one of Stevie's demo's she always wanted to record and now will record it? Maybe it will be sister's of the moon. I know I am going to need Xanax the night it airs.

If it's going to be a piano song I insist it be "Forest Of The Black Roses"

Besides it's one of her "Rhiannon" songs so it fits...

Meanwhile, when news broke that Stevie Nicks had agreed to appear as herself, I cheered. Then I winced. Nicks has been an unseen presence all season — swamp witch Misty Day (Lily Rabe) channels her at every turn, and we’ve heard songs like ‘Gypsy’ and ‘Leather and Lace’. Witch rumours have followed Stevie Nicks for years; a cameo on Coven sure sounds like a great idea. But maybe the idea is enough.

Remember how you wanted to see Betty White in everything, and then suddenly Betty White WAS in everything, and then you just wanted her to go away?

Stevie Nicks cannot become the next Betty White.

I agree, Michele. Betty White should never go away. And neither should Stevie.

I keep seeing references to Gypsy in AHS. When is it going to happen?

Thank you very much, I found the youtube clip. I am way behind the times with you tube and computer stuff which is sad, but I am catching on. I can't believe how many FM and Stevie clips are out there. I have seen concert footage but none of the interviews and little clips of her. This little skit she did was adorable. I really am excited to see her on AHS. I hope they put a spin on it and have Stevie do something outrageous or become a main character right at the end. Stevie ends the show becoming the high supreme. Way to far out but I do hope they give it a little humor and a lot of drama and "WoW" moments

You had mentioned that you wanted Stevie Nicks to come back. Is that gonna happen?
We have Stevie for another. Stevie will be in episode 10 and then we have Stevie for another one, doing an idea that she came up with that I thought was too perfect to say no to. Hilariously, Stevie read some of the scripts and called up and said “Are you aware that one of the things you’re doing I actually wrote a song about?” I’m like, “You’ve got to be kidding.” Then I remembered the song. We have something cool that was her idea.

Can you say what song it is?
No it gives it away!

Stevie Nicks Dishes On American Horror Story: Coven Appearance

First Published: December 5, 2013 12:16 PM EST Access Hollywood

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Stevie Nicks has toured the world, been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and sold hundreds of millions of albums – but the rock icon says appearing on “American Horror Story: Coven” is “the most interesting thing” she’s ever done.

Access Hollywood caught up with Stevie while she promoted her new documentary, “In Your Dreams,” where she revealed what fans can expect regarding her upcoming guest appearance on the FX series.

“I got there on Saturday, I got the script on Saturday night. My assistant Karen read it out loud to me,” the 65-year-old singer told Access.

WATCH: Stevie Nicks: American Horror Story Is ‘The Most Interesting Thing I’ve Ever Done’

“I was horrified and terrified and scared because it’s such a scary thing,” Stevie continued. “I was really terrified and scared because I was reading it at Saturday night at two or three in the morning and I was supposed to go in there on Monday and have some idea of what [the script] had said.”

On the series, Lily Rabe’s Misty Day character is obsessed with Stevie and her music, something the singer found easily relatable.

“[Ryan] saw my music as Lily’s muse he saw this as this girl in the swamp, who was obviously raised by wolves or somebody and didn’t know anybody and had never met anybody – ever, in her life – and she was just out there in the swamp healing people and animals. And she had an 8-track of a bunch of Fleetwood Mac records and Stevie Nicks records and that’s all she listened to. So when she was upset – kind of like we all do, if you’re having a bad day, you put on your favorite artist and listen to them and they cheer you up,” she explained.

Initially, Stevie – who had previously worked with Ryan on “Glee” – pitched a simple cameo for herself on the show and Ryan expanded on the idea.

“’If you want me to just do a walk-thru, I can wear a really long black dress and look stunningly tall and fantastic,’” she said, recalling a phone call with Ryan. “The next thing I know, I’m going to New Orleans.”

Stevie said she was “sworn to secrecy” regarding the plot, but did offer up a detail that leaves the door open for future appearance on the award-winning series.

“I don’t die, I live through it,” she told Access. “I’m playing myself, but it’s a concoction of myself and it’s fantastic.”

Adding, “It’s probably the most interesting thing I’ve ever done!”

“American Horror Story: Coven” airs Wednesdays at 10 PM on FX.

What song could it be?

Beauty & the Beast to go along with the Zoe / Kyle storyline.
Sisters of the Moon to go with Fiona luring Misty Day over to her side ("be my sister of the moon").

Any other guesses?

Well as an avid fan of the show (since the beginning) I am absolutely thrilled that Stevie has made it into this little world. I really thought she would never go for it considering Ryan crosses the line for "cable TV" all the time. It's gory, sadistic, and even perverted at times. But absolutely fabulous. Based on the season so far, I think the song is going to be "Seven Wonders." They've been talking about it since the beginning of the season. The next "supreme" has to perform the 7 tasks of the seven wonders. It has to be it!

Well, Ryan is saying what Stevie said, so I'm not sure she claimed to have written it. He doesn't know as much about her catalog as we do.

But that song is my guess, since they have mentioned that phrase and Stevie would have already seen those shows. I can't remember anything else they've done that would trigger a song memory for her. I guess we'll find out in her second appearance. The first one is still a month away, but maybe if they haven't filmed the second one yet, when they do we'll get more clues.

I highly doubt that it is seven wonders that they are speaking about here. I do though believe it possible seven Wonders may be played since they have mentioned that
Honestly several of her songs could be worked into this Including new ones like moonlight and New Orleans.

Yeah, I think there's a chance "Seven Wonders" could be played in passing. I'm sure Fiona is going to die before the show ends, so I could see the line "I'll never live to match the beauty again" being played during her death scene.

I don't think it's a coincidence that there have been subtle nods to Stevie throughout the season, everything from what the witches are wearing to the root perm that Myrtle Snow has.

American Horror Story: Coven: Lily Rabe gushes over Stevie Nicks & talks her forthcoming appearance December 8th, 2013 by Nick Barnes, Unreality tv

http://primetime.unrealitytv.co.uk/american-horror-story-coven-lily-rabe-gushes-stevie-nicks-talks-forthcoming-appearance/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Unreality%2FPrimetime+%28Unreality+Primetime%29

So, we already know that Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks will be making an appearance on American Horror Story: Coven after the Christmas break and Lily Rabe has gushed over how amazing she is to work with.

Rabe of course plays the role of Misty Day on the current season of American Horror Story. The witch has the power of resurgence and has a huge obsession with Stevie Nicks. You can imagine how thrilled she is when she turns up on the show…

Speaking about her appearance on the set of AHS: Coven, Rabe told E! Online: “One thing I can tell you is that at the end of the night, we had spent all day together, and at the end of the night she sent her assistant to come get me. She said ‘Stevie really wants to see you, she is desperate for you to come to the trailer. We know it’s whatever o’clock in the morning…’

“So, of course, we were sharing a split trailer, so I knocked and walked in and she had brought me from L.A, when she knew she was doing the job, this amazing black velvet jacket and lace skirt from her early Fleetwood Mac days.

“I woke up the next morning thinking ‘Did that whole thing really happen?’”

She went on to say that she may even wear the gift as “Life is so short”.

Speaking about her time on the show, Rabe said that Nicks will play the role of herself and there will be a song and a dance together.

“There’s singing and dancing and there’s musical things that happen,” she added.

Unfortunately, not a lot is known about Nicks’ role on the show as Ryan Murphy is keeping all the details firmly under wraps. However, what we do know is that she’s going to have a bit of a sing-song with Lily Rabe’s character, Misty Day who is obsessed with Stevie Nicks’ music. A little birdy also tells us that Murphy is also a huge fan of Nicks.

We also know that Nicks’ role on the show will be largely linked to Fiona. As we have seen already on the show, Fiona will do anything she can to live as long as possible but unfortunately, even in the witching world that can’t happen. She will become weaker as the next Supreme begins to get stronger.

In a bid to get the next Supreme to reveal themselves, Fiona “tells Misty Day that the Supreme gets so many great things in life, like tickets to the Oscars and Met Ball tickets”. This is where Stevie Nicks comes in to play as she shows Misty that if she exhibits more power, she will get that and more.

“Then the other girls come home and see Stevie and Misty singing and it starts them trying to move much quicker to prove that they are the Supreme,” Murphy has revealed.

American Horror Story: Coven continues on Wednesdays at 10/9c on FX.

So, Stevie is going to dance too?

I was thinking that Cordelia could be the Supreme. Her blindness is not really a disability for her. It has been the catalyst that took her from being a good witch and teacher to a powerful witch, with new strengths. It was once Delia started dabbling in dangerous spells (fertility) that Fiona started to weaken. Delia isn't young, but maybe she's a late bloomer and is starting to get stronger at this stage in her life.

I don't think I've seen the latest promos. I'll look for that.

I was also thinking that although Fiona framed her, "Aunt Myrtle" might very well have thrown the acid at Cordelia, but to get her the second sight, not to harm her.

Yes. There may well be a quick glimpse of Stevie in a promo for the January show at the end of the last Dec. show. Also, I'm wondering if Stevie may do one of the late night talk shows to promo her appearance. It probably would be difficult from a scheduling standpoint because those shows tend to go into re-runs around Christmas and New Years, but there might be a few days possible (Jan 6-7) for a spot. Later, she called me and said, “You know, I’ve been watching the show obviously, and I’ve been reading the scripts, and do you know you’re doing on the show something I wrote a song about with Fleetwood Mac back in the day? It was a B-side of one of our singles.” And she said the name of the song, which I won’t reveal, and I was like, “Of course!” She thought she should sing that song to the girls, so we booked her for another day, and we did another song, which will be in the finale. Any time you can do anything with Stevie where you can find out the true secret of her shawls is amazing.

Stevie wants to sing her song to the girls..."Time cast a spell on you but you won't forget me...I know I could have loved you but you would not let me...I'll follow you down till the sound of my voice will haunt you...You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you"

Did y'all see the season finale is going to be called Seven Wonders? It's almost a certainty the song of the same name will be featured in that episode. It's looking dimmer & dimmer that Sisters Of The Moon will be included in the show... :distress:

I don't see it being Silver Springs. Stevie having to remind them, or anyone, about what is basically a well known FM song; doesn't fit.

But, if they are correct about it being a B side, if she is the one that told them that, and we know Stevie is horrible with getting facts right... what are our choices? Seven Wonders was not a B side that I recall. And Stevie did NOT write Seven Wonders. She changed two words in the song and that is about it.

I just looked up the B sides that Stevie wrote that fit the themes are...

1. Book of Miracles (B side from TITN era). I vote this one the most likely candidate. Since it is possible that Stevie rerecorded something "special" with LB and this song never had a true FM version with vocals on it.
2. Gold Dust Woman (B side, a couple times actually). Possible, but this song is about self destruction, so could be a good Fiona song.
3. Sisters of the Moon (B side of Angel) which was ALSO an A side. Very fitting with the theme of the show.

Distant 4th: Silver Spring. Which has been a B side in 1977, AND an A side in 1997. I dont see this being it.

Seven Wonders even had its own video, so I don't think she'd think it was a B side, so yes that comment does throw me off. But I didn't know the episode was going to be titled Seven Wonders until Louie said so. Now, that kind of tips the scales.

We KNOW they have to do the Seven Wonders ceremony in the show too. So, it just seems natural.

Book of Miracles ... well that one time when they needed to get the Axeman out of the house, they did find a book in the library and get a spell out of it, so maybe there could be a book of miracles reference.

That reminds me of the Book of Shadows on Charmed. I wanted to buy one off of ebay so badly, but knew I couldn't justify such an outlay of cash.

Umm. Well. Stevie still thinks the last time they did Sisters of the Moon live was 1979 even though people continue to correct her during concerts. She lives in her own reality. A reality of perception and selective memory. I wish I could live there.

Molly Snyder, senior writer says:

Music: I blame "American Horror Story: Coven" for my recent re-obsession with Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. I may or may not have downloaded a "four-disc" set just to feed my need. However, when not jamming out to "Leather and Lace," I also really enjoyed "We Can Be Horses," the first release from local band Buffalo Gospel that features the super talented Heidi Spencer. Laura Mulva's "Sing To The Moon," "Mutual Friends" by BOY, M.I.A.'s "Mantangi" and Placebo's "Loud Like Love" also got a fair share of my ears' time this year.

For all the cocaine she did for a decade, we should be happy she remembers as MUCH as she does! lol.

Memory issues aside, I think she'd recall that "Seven Wonders" wasn't just a b-side. It was a Top 20 single, they filmed a video, and they performed it for an entire tour. Seems like quite a lot to forget.

Beyond that, I have a hard time "hearing" "Seven Wonders" being used in context of 'Coven.' It's not a moody, dark or esoteric song. And there's certainly nothing "witchy" about it.

Although the title matches, the lyrics certainly don't fit into the show's plot.

I mean, I think Seven Wonders will be used, but I was thinking of the lyrics today and they don't fit. Well, it's definitely no fit from Misty's point of view and Stevie has always been associated with Misty.

Now, if it's Cordelia and something good happens to her, she ends up being pregnant AND is made the Supreme in a seven wonders ceremony, I could see the lyrics fitting that.

I don't think we should be taking the "b-side" comment too literally. For two reasons:

One, it's absolute hearsay...Ryan Murphy said Stevie said that it's a b-side. She could have said "demo," or "outtake," or "something I pick on the piano and the girls sing with me," and Ryan said "b-side" just to simplify it or perhaps that's how he heard it or interpreted it. Not a reliable statement, in my opinion.

Second, as others have mentioned, Stevie doesn't have the greatest track record when it comes to recalling things that happened "back in the day." "Sisters" being last performed in 1979, for example. And I do find it hard to believe that she would remember which of her songs ended up being b-sides 30 years ago ("Silver Springs" being the exception).

I also don't think it's "Silver Springs." The comments make it sound as though the song in question fits perfectly with the storyline, and I don't have any idea how "Silver Springs" could fit in.

I still contend that "Melacine/The Witch" is the best fit, in terms of lyrics fitting the storyline. I mean, MISTY DAY has the same number of syllables...."'Misty Day is insane!' they said....they burned your body and they wished you dead..." If Fiona really is bringing Stevie in to sort of lure Misty Day into revealing that she's the next Supreme, wouldn't a song, sung by Stevie ABOUT Misty and her trial and tribulations, be a perfect fit?

You have to take her comments with a grain of salt. Someone here mentioned a while back that Stevie likes to be literal, and that tends to get her into trouble with fans because fans are a little cray-cray when it comes to facts and quotes. Things aren't black and white with Stevie, even though they tend to be her favorite colors.

If the show uses "Seven Wonders," I think the chorus has the most relevance and could be used in the context of Fiona's battle to retain her beauty and power.

I also speculate (meaning, it's not fact!) that Ryan Murphy has a limited catalog to work from. Warner Bros. probably approved certain songs (mostly songs from the most commercially successful releases) to be used in the show. In other words, we won't be hearing songs like "Fire Burning" at the stake and "That's Alright" when Fiona and Marie inevitably reconcile. This is true for shows like American Idol, where singers cannot just choose any song to perform on the show. They must pick from the cleared list.

‘American Horror Story-Coven’ Spoilers Episode 10: Outing of New Supreme in ‘The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks’ [VIDEO]

The episode 10 of "American Horror Story-Coven" is called "The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks." It was reported in November that Stevie Nicks has agreed to make a guest appearance as herself in an episode of "American Horror Story-Coven." Fiona is trying to find out who is the real supreme. She is using Misty's idol, Stevie Nicks, to make Misty show her full powers.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ryan Murphy, co-creator of "American Horror Story," had said that the appearance of Stevie Nicks is "Fiona's ruse in that Fiona is trying to get the true Supreme to reveal herself because she needs to stay alive. So she tells Misty Day that the Supreme gets so many great things in life, like tickets to the Oscars and Met Ball tickets."

Murphy had said that Fiona brings Stevie Nicks as a present. It is Fiona's way of telling Misty that if she "exhibits more power she'll get that and more."

In the upcoming new episode, the other girls will come to the academy and "see Stevie and Misty singing and it starts them trying to move much quicker to prove that they are the Supreme," Murphy had added.

In the mid-season finale, "Head," Hank went on a killing spree at Marie's parlour. Before he could kill Marie, Queenie put a loaded gun in her mouth and pulled the trigger, which killed Hank. Marie finally knocked at academy's doors to form an alliance with Fiona against the witch hunters.

Cordelia will find the true identity of Hank and also more about the witch hunters. Hank was part of his father's run organisation, which specialises in witches hunting. Hank is dead but the danger has not dissipated. In the preview video of episode 11, Fiona can be seen saying, "witch hunters never act alone, we've to find the hive."

In addition to witch hunting story-arc, there is the track of finding the Supreme. In the upcoming episode, Madison is likely to do her best to eliminate her competition for the throne of Supreme.

The Official Synopsis of "American Horror Story-Coven" Episode 10 "The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks": "Fiona attempts to out the new Supreme with a visit from Stevie Nicks. Cordelia learns the truth about Hank and the Witch Hunters. Madison tries to eliminate her competition for the Supremacy."

The episode 10 of "American Horror Story-Coven" is scheduled to air on January 08, 2014. James Wong has written the episode, while Alfonso Gomez-Rejon has directed it.

Huffington Post Stevie Nicks And Lily Rabe Are BFF In New 'American Horror Story' Posted: 01/02/2014 3:36 pm EST

Stevie Nicks' "American Horror Story: Coven" episode will premiere on Jan. 8, but FX recently released new photos of Nicks with star Lily Rabe, whose character, Misty Day, is obsessed with the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman and her witchy ways.

Nicks and Rabe look like they were made for each other in the photos below, which makes us wonder what's in store when the show returns. In an interview, Rabe told Vulture that Stevie Nicks is her character's idol. "She’s looking for someone to help her understand why she is the way she is, so in that way her soul is nourished by Stevie. It’s not a superficial obsession, it’s a deep love."

I've got the same dilemma. Plus I'm so busy to take the time to do this. I have 2 VHS VCR's and one of them I bought off a friend in 1993. I use that one as the player and the other one, the newer one(2007) as the recorder. But I haven't used either of them in 2 years since ABC canned my favorite show, One Life To Live. I still haven't forgotten your request of me to tape those 1996 concerts Stevie did. I just don't know when I'll get around to doing it. LOL
I have a ton of Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks interviews in perfect condition on those VHS tapes that I will unveil someday.I don't know when that someday will be. Last year I did a major search of my picture collection to try to please Michele and find that pic of Christine signing away her music publishing, but with no luck.

******Beware there are spoilers in this article!

Is Misty the next Supreme on FX's American Horror Story: Coven? The skilled witch is about to inch closer to finding out her fate during Wednesday's hour when musical goddess Stevie Nicks guest stars.

The hour, fittingly titled "The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks," will see Lily Rabe's Misty Day finally come face-to-face with the only "other witch" -- as showrunner Ryan Murphy first coined her -- that she's ever known.

Nicks tells The Hollywood Reporter that she reconnected with Murphy, whom she knew after Glee paid tribute to Fleetwood Mac with a season two episode, when the prolific writer-producer called to use her music on the series. Nicks recalls the conversation in which Murphy told her about Misty, describing the character as one who lives in a swamp who uses her music as a way to calm down.

"I know how beautifully they handled the music on Glee, so I knew that this would be great," she says, noting she watched her first ever episode of American Horror Story while she was on tour in Europe and was hooked immediately.

"It's a horror story told through the eyes of a fairy tale," Nicks says. "Ryan really does write about misfits, whether it's Glee or American Horror Story, and I was a misfit. I traveled around in high school. I was the new girl before the eighth grade, before the 10th grade, so I understand that. I thought by the second episode of Coven that it would take my music to a whole other generation. From 14- and 15-year-olds to 40-year-olds and expose it people that have never heard my music or never heard anything about me really. So as a writer, that couldn’t be better, because as a writer, we just want to affect people."

After returning to the states after Fleetwood Mac's Australian tour was canceled when bass player John McVie was diagnosed with cancer, Nicks had five weeks off and called Murphy with a request: to walk through the New Orleans house where Fiona (Jessica Lange), Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) and Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), among others, reside.

"In my mind, I was seeing myself walking through the big white house with the big black dress, beautiful hair, makeup and fan and just walking in and saying, 'Here I am! You can all go now,'" Nicks says. She ended up staying five days and with a two-episode guest arc.

"It was the trippiest thing I've ever done," the singer-writer says with a laugh. "I got the script and told my assistant, 'Do they know I’m not an actress? Has anyone told them I’m not an actress?' I was terrified and didn’t sleep very well. I went in the next day early -- and early for me isn’t good -- but I fell into their world like I was Alice and I fell into the rabbit hole and I was in Wonderland. And it really is Wonderland."

The Coven house, it turns out, looks eerily similar to Nicks' residence (it's "not as ornate," she says) with the same white round fireplaces, among other attributes. "I just watched my own movie, In Your Dreams, and a lot of my house is filmed in it and wondered if Ryan saw it before filming Coven," she says with a laugh.

As for the episode, Nicks performs two songs while playing the piano -- "Rhiannon" and "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You" -- with both tracks selected by producers. "I was thrilled they picked them because those are really the only two songs I actually play all the time when I sit at the piano -- which isn’t often," she says.

"They chose them because 'Rhiannon' was Misty's anthem and 'Has Anyone Ever Written Anything for You' can work for anyone in the world when they've had a very long, bad day," Nicks adds. "It was really a beautiful thing; it was like a dream. Everybody just moved slowly. I figured that those times will never come again. When I'm 90 years old and I look back over my life, I’ll remember Jessica Lange leaning over the piano and saying, 'That was a difficult day,' and walking over to the couch. I’ll never forget it."

Beyond her Coven return -- on which Nicks remains mum -- the iconic performer is getting ready to revisit her long-gestating "Rhiannon" project.

"I already have some friends that are working with me and we are really starting to put it into shape and form. I may never have four or five months off again in my life and I have it right now, so I’m going to do that," she reveals, noting she'd prefer to produce the entry as a feature film.

"I also think it would be an amazing miniseries because it's long. It’s a lot of stories that are all connected and all amazing," Nicks says. "It couldn’t just be one movie and if it can’t be what I want, then I won’t do it. So I’m just going to work on it for a couple months and see how it comes out."

When pressed if she'd be open for another reunion with Murphy to produce the project, she laughs before getting serious. "That's a very good idea," she says.

She said this same thing in 2011. That she was in Mexico Rhiannoning with some friend's. She's been promoting this movie she'll never make since the 1970's.

Stevie saying she has off the next 4-5 months basically coincides with what Lindsey recently stated about Fleetwood Mac reappearing this summer. So that essentially confirms that since none of them are working over the next several months, and that no Fleetwood Mac album will appear this year. :(

***SPOILERS***

Looks like I was right about HAEWAFY being her piano song on American Horror. I can't wait to see it!! :blob1:

As if you couldn't have 1 more Stevie Article about her episode on AHS - lol! This one is even more detailed than the last.

Stevie Nicks will appear as herself in American Horror Story: Coven, the episode is appropriately titled "The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks." The Fleetwood Mac singer told E! News she was already a fan of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's work with Glee, so agreeing to American Horror Story was a natural jump, despite not having seen the first two seasons of the FX series.

"So anyway, they said, ‘It's our third season and we have a character in it, she lives in a swamp, you're her only friend. Your music is her only friend,'" Nicks explained to us. "I'm the person that [when] she's upset, she's unhappy—which she usually is—she listens to my music. I said, ‘Well, that's fantastic.' As a writer, what more can I ask for? I said, ‘Take it, take it all. Whatever you want, I'll make it happen.' And they did, they said, ‘Cool.'"

The result? Misty Day, the swamp-dwelling witch with resurrection powers played by Lily Rabe. After Nicks gave her blessing, she went to Paris and Italy and eventually joined Fleetwood Mac in Dublin for a tour. It was while in Europe that American Horror Story: Coven finally premiered and Nicks said it was like a frantic quest to get the episodes. Thanks to the help of her tech-savvy assistant, Nicks and Co. got their hands on the Coven episodes.

"I'm watching the show going, ‘Oh my god, this is the most twisted thing I've ever seen,'" Nicks said. "I can tell you, I've never seen a horror movie in my whole life. Never! I'm really not a horror person. So, I'm watching this and it is so twisted and crazy. I'm like, ‘Oh gosh, is this more than I had any idea this was?'" Nicks decided to wait for the second installment. After seeing that episode, she said she was "definitely in."

"I'm sewn in and there's no getting out now. It's pretty fantastic. Yes, it's about witchcraft and all those crazy things, but it is still seen through the eyes of a fairytale. As long as it's seen through the eyes of a fairytale, I'm good with it," Nicks said.

After Fleetwood Mac's tour was cut short—bassist John McVie was diagnosed with cancer, but Nicks said he's doing great and she truly believes "he's going to be fine or I would not be even talking about him right now"—Nicks found herself with some free time and decided to pursue being on Coven.

"This is what I said, ‘I just want to put on a fantastic long black dress and have beautiful hair and wind and really high heels. I just want to walk through the beautiful white house and say "Hello, witches!"' So, I get to New Orleans and in New Orleans, I get this script and it is not just me walking through. My assistant reads it out loud to me at 3 in the morning and I'm pretty horrified because I'm going, ‘Do they know that I'm not an actress? Has anybody told them that I've never, ever done anything like this in my whole life?'"

Nicks said she was nervous for her first day of shooting. She had very little sleep the night before, but everybody from the costumers to the cast and director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon reassured her she was be great. "I really just said, ‘OK, you know what? I'm here now and I'm going to pull it off,'" Nicks said. "I said a little prayer and I just walked straight into it with my head up and said, ‘I'm going to do this.'"

And she did. Nicks has a few scenes in the 10th episode of American Horror Story: Coven. She sings and does a shawl twirl with Rabe. The Coven version of Nicks gives Rabe's Misty Day a shawl. Nicks used her shawl in the scene, but the one that later becomes Misty's was not hers.

"Of course I took it back! It came out of the vault, but I gave Lily a really beautiful black outfit that I thought was so perfect for her," she said. "It's really beautiful—better than a shawl! She got something really beautiful that was mine for a long time and that she will have forever, and she's going to like much more than wearing a shawl around."

You may be wondering why Stevie Nicks was visiting a coven of witches to begin with, and the explanation is quite simple. Fiona (Jessica Lange) brings Stevie Nicks to New Orleans to meet Misty as a way of getting inside Misty's head and feeling out her powers. Fiona's on a quest to find the new supreme and all eyes are on Misty right now. But just because she was on set doesn't mean Nicks came away with any insider knowledge.

"I have gone through every possible scenario because nobody knows. I'm telling you, as god as my witness, nobody on that set knows. Nobody but the writers know, and the writers weren't even there," Nicks said. "So, I've gone through every idea I could get to…I'm going to be as surprised as everybody, because, believe me, they're not telling any of the actors...They can't tell anybody. I think the surprise for even the actors would be blown if anybody knew. I think it would take a toll on everybody's acting because if you know what's going to happen, I don't think it would be anywhere near as good. This way everyone is so on their toes because nobody has got a clue."

After meeting the cast and being immersed in the world of American Horror Story: Coven, Nicks still couldn't pick just one favorite character.

"I don't have a favorite. Each one of them brings something different to the party. Taissa [Farmiga, who plays Zoe] is very demure and very horrified to even be in this position in the first place. Emma Roberts is evil and great. She's so great and she's so cute. She is so the movie star. ‘Hi, I'm Madison, I'm the movie star. Hello, Madison Montgomery, movie star.' She's so into her part that it's fantastic. She just drips evil and it's so great. Knowing that she's Julia Roberts' niece, it's so crazy. You can kind of see her—you can see Julia in Emma and it's fantastic...Lily is my friend. She's like my baby. She loves—she sleeps to my music. Queenie [played by Gabourey Sidibe ], she's fantastic. Queenie just loved hearing me sing. I have to adore her for that. Jessica I got to watch act. I've never seen a real actress really act," she said.

Nicks didn’t have any scenes with Angela Bassett—she didn’t meet the What’s Love Got to Do With It star, something Nicks said she’s “horrified” by and hopes to correct soon—but she did get to know Kathy Bates quite well.

“Kathy Bates came down and then flew back with us. [It was] Five and a half hours in really bad turbulence so we had a ruckus, uproariously funny airplane trip back, so now I feel like I know Kathy Bates better than anybody because we were sure we were going to possibly crash to our deaths. We hit terrible turbulence coming into Los Angeles for about 25 minutes and we were all like, ‘This is it!’ Kathy sat through this with us and she’s going, ‘This is how it’s going to read, “Kathy Bates, Academy Award winning actress and Stevie Nicks, hall of famer, crash to the ground and four others,”’ Nicks said with a laugh. “And she’s like, ‘We’re one of the others!’ and I said, ‘Oh no, no, no, no,’ because there were three Yorkies, too. She said, ‘The Yorkies will get second billing on this one.’ I got to know Kathy. You get to know people on a plane flight, really well. It was a little plane with seven of us. It was pretty crazy.”

All this attention for a character obsessed with her music and brief cameo.

“I will tell you, when I came back from Europe after completing the 62nd three-hour show of Fleetwood Mac from April to October, I get in the car and the limousine driver says to me, ‘Congratulations on American Horror Story!’ [Laughs.] Not one word—not congratulations that you lived through 62 three-hour Fleetwood Mac shows that were great, but congratulations on American Horror Story. That’s my first moment back in the United States. I said, ‘Oh, this is way bigger than even I knew.’ Am I excited about it? You bet! I’m pretty knocked out, I’m happy to be a part of this amazing ensemble.”

"In my mind, I was seeing myself walking through the big white house with the big black dress, beautiful hair, makeup and fan and just walking in and saying, 'Here I am! You can all go now,'" Nicks says. She ended up staying five days and with a two-episode guest arc.

Beyond her Coven return -- on which Nicks remains mum -- the iconic performer is getting ready to revisit her long-gestating "Rhiannon" project.

Yep! Stevie & Ryan Murphy have both confirmed Stevie will be in 1 more episode. Each season has 13 episodes, and tonight's will be the 10th. So we won't have to wait very long. :)

I'm glad to hear Stevie's been watching the show. This season has been absolutely delightful.

Thanks for the reply. I figure that after tonight, there's ONLY 3 left (it ends Jan 29th) so they will get her in once more in the 3 left, BUT who knows which one??

I thought she was much better in that clip than she was in the shawl scene.

I actually laughed at her change in tone when she reacted to Misty falling.

Also, I have to say, I imagine it's actually probably kind of hard to play yourself well because you're reading a script that someone else wrote and that's not necessarily how you would actually speak/react/respond etc. Reconciling the dialogue and direction with your actual personality and making it believable could be really challenging. I think it's a lot easier to adopt a new character than it is to try to channel yourself as a character because we don't think of ourselves in that way, typically. Any one of us could probably do a decent Stevie Nicks imitation, because we've all seen her move/talk/walk/dance/etc enough to know all of her little quirks and tonal inflection and words she uses and stuff. I don't know if I could do an impersonation of myself because I don't study myself in that much detail, I wouldn't know to even do.

Great episode..of course, Stevie's not an actress but her role was done well..I also loved when Misty fell to the floor and she high fives the woman - I think that was a moment of pretty good acting..

I will say, I had never heard of this show and assumed it would be cheesy like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" but I was pleasantly surprised at how good of actors they all were. I watched the entire episode and now I want to see more. I also am looking forward to seeing Kathy Bates in some episodes (my favorite actress of all time)...

HAEWAFY as a closer was the PERFECT ending. It has been TOO LONG since she has performed that song at all, much less on piano. Her piano playing was pretty good too!

All in all - 10000000 times better than her horrid acting debut on the Chris Isaak show in 2001.

Hated the show. A lot ;) And I didn't understand at all what that one witch said about one day Stevie might betray her or something. To me it didn't make any sense to talk about a character who is only going to be on one show like that. Anyway, I digress.

For someone who is very adamant about not being an actress she did really well. And yeah, I thought it was kind of funny that she meets Misty and everyone goes to other parts of the house so she's just like "ho hum, I guess I'll just sit at the piano and play for a while". I kind of like to connect the dots in my mind about stuff like that so I just figured she was there for the night and after meeting Misty went to lie down for a while. And when she got back up she came downstairs and nobody was around, so she just sat at the piano and started to play.

She said in an interview that she thought she was just going to sweep through the room, say hi and then leave, and a very twisted part of me thought how funny if that's exactly what she did. She'd sweep in the front door, say hello and out the back and the girls would all look at each other like "what the hell was that???"

I agree that for someone who has clearly stated that she is NOT an actress she did just fine. Without no experience, no previous experience of acting it is not that is easy to just step on to a set and start acting. Especially not if you are suppose to "play" yourself.

As for the plot I don't care all that much since I am not following the show and only saw it to see Stevie, but I can imagine that there is only so much you can do to incorporate her to the story when they found out about her appearance only a couple of weeks before it happened. Or is that not how it was? She wouldn't have been able to do it if they hadn't cancelled the tour, right?

I thought Have Anyone Written Anything For You was great! Nice to see her behind the piano playing and she looked great!

Considering she got the script the day before, and knows nothing about acting, she did extremely well. The one line that was flat (and it made me laugh when she said it) was, "Is she alright?" "Real Stevie" would probably been more like, "OMG! Is she ok?! Someone get somebody!!"
So given she didn't write her own lines she did great.
She must be curious about fans' reactions because a tweet was sent out this morning at 5:45 am asking for feedback. Stevie' s probably still awake!

Not to be flip, but hasn't Patti died in loads of roles over the years? Evita? Les Mis? Sweeney Todd? And those are just the parts I'm familiar with. It seems she kinda digs it. And it's something that seems to lend favour to actresses come awards season.

I'm excited to see Stevie in this! I'm a little nervous at the "well she was good for someone who isn't an actress" comments, but I didn't expect much else. Hopefully her part is undemanding and I won't really notice.

You probably just needed to watch the entire season for context. Stevie is very much an off camera character in Misty Day's mind. She's discussed pretty much every episode. And Stevie's not just going to be in this one episode... she's apparently in the season finale in a few weeks, as well. As a stand alone episode, this wasn't the best of the lot. But I've just adored this entire season. You really should watch the entire thing once it's out on DVD.

The Stevie songs have been played in almost every episode thus far. We've heard the likes of Edge Of Seventeen, Sara, Kind Of Woman, Rhiannon, and Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You. Stevie's music is treated very reverently. I think you're missing out by not giving the show a chance. :)

Seriously, Fiona just finished viciously drownDing the most innocent character on the show, while this horrible voodoo demon guy is tring to steal a babies soul. The neighbor got butchered next store... But Stevie... Completely unaware and serenading the drownDer Shari g a glass of wine. But i guess it is true to her real life self. She did reduce her ong about 911 to her lighting a candle.

Yeah, the continuity of Stevie still being around at the end of the episode and singing to Fiona (Jessica Lange) was a bit odd. I get the feeling Stevie left the Coven house after wishing Misty (Lily Rabe) well, but then Fiona summoned Stevie back to sooth her anxiety after her very rough day. Fiona normally drowns her sorrows in booze, blow, or boys... but this time it was Stevie's music. I thought it was extremely touching.

I'm gonna be honest. I was disappointed. I was hoping to see Stevie cast a spell or something big like that. But at least she was there.
And they killed Patti Lupone! (My favorite broadway actress)
HOW DARE THEY?! YOU DO NOT KILL PATTI!

Patti Lupone was EVIL in the show. She abused and eventually killed her own son. B!tch deserved death! If you've been watching the show this season, nobody stays dead for very long anyway...

I've seen every episode of this season, and I think the show is all over the place, in its plotting, its characters. I just wish Steve's songs were a little better integrated into the show. Rather than just being played, they could be so much more effective had the editing and the plotting worked with the songs. A good example is Fleetwood Mac's Tusk in another FX show, The Americans. The use of that song, deconstructing it to just instrumentals, during the teaser portion (segment 1) of the pilot was inspired. It just perfectly fit the tone of the show, and established that in the very first episode. Another good example is "Crystal Blue Persuasion" in Breaking Bad. The use of that song over a montage was brilliant. I'm not seeing the same execution and use of source music for American Horror Story, which is unfortunate because they really have such strong material to work with. We were laughing that Stevie was performing on the show, rather than her songs being better integrated. At this point, I'd just love to hear "Seven Wonders," with all the talk about the next supreme having to perform them. That would be a great song to hear, one that I know isn't as well known or remembered by the general public.

In regard to "Seven Wonders"......I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts we'll hear it in Stevie's second appearance.....they just mentioned it too many times for it to be a coincidence! Remember...when Stevie suggested the second story line, she told Ryan Murphy "You know I have a song by that title!" HAS to be "Seven Wonders!" (Nice royalty check for Sandy Stewart!!!)

I don't know about that. I didn't necessarily understand it to be something they recorded just for AHS. Obviously, I would love it if there's new music we haven't heard, but I don't think so. I just think she could have meant something that is already out -- though I don't know what she and Lindsey have done witchy lately.

Yes, I don't think Stevie was there the whole time. In fact, I don't know if they have two pianos or not, but I saw the witches in a scene with the piano and Stevie was no where to be seen.

People just evaporate and reappear anyway. I don't think the Axeman just walked into Fiona's room. He kind of appeared. Also, if he started walking around the house, I think the girls would be a little shocked, considering the battle they had with him. Michele

IMHO, you have to 1. Be a fan of AHS to understand and get it all in Context!! There's A LOT that happened prior to this episode that will explain why Misty is what she is and why Patti died etc etc. 2. Stevie's acting was OK, BUT has been described as wooden. Why couldn't she parlay some of the MGM concert "Say Goodbye" emotion to this??

I also thought that Angela Bassett was brilliant last night and looked great for a 55 year old lady!!

Considering she got the script the day before, and knows nothing about acting, she did extremely well. The one line that was flat (and it made me laugh when she said it) was, "Is she alright?" "Real Stevie" would probably been more like, "OMG! Is she ok?! Someone get somebody!!"

Well, she and Fiona had a bet, so she probably wasn't totally shocked that it happened.

In the interviews I can tell that Stevie wasn't thrilled with the shawl they had her give Misty. She wishes she could have used one of her own.

Ok, we have 3 more episodes to go and let me just renew my vote. I still think Delia is the next Supreme. They just made her weak in this episode to surprise us.

Also, they had Fiona reject her daughter this week (although she was very concerned when she was blinded a few weeks ago) and I think Fiona will change on that. I think she will sacrifice her life for her daughter's before all is said and done.

And who knows, that may convince Legba that she has a soul after all.

I love love love the ending with Stevie at the piano and Fiona on the couch (with tears running down her face). It was great...but I kept wondering, where the heck has Stevie been the whole time? I don't think Misty would have gone out for a stroll with Madison if she knew Stevie was still in the house...so I agree that Fiona must have summoned Stevie back (who wouldn't if they could?)

I also thought the stuff Madison was saying to Misty about Stevie was so funny. "Hey girlfriend, it's auntie Stevie" and talking about the shawls. Emma Roberts is really great as Madison and it was good to hear Stevie acknowledge that in a recent interview referring to Emma's portrayal of Madison and how it “just drips of evil and it's great."

Well, by process of elimination its NOT Nan since Papa Legba took her away nor is it Queenie who perished before the Holidays , so who do we have left? : Delia (Cordelia) who takes a daily beat-down from her mom Fiona (aka the Soulless) ; Misty Day ( Stevie fan) who's knocked OUT (temporarily, I am sure); Madison, the "Hollywood" star who everyone loves to hate , BUT also showed Misty that she could raise the dead and knock OUT Misty; Zoe, who has NOT really showed any powers except during the Zombie Apocalypse and freed the Ax-man (who is Fiona's lover).

ONE of the above will show us the Seven Wonders.....Necromancy/resurgance, pyrokinesis, telekenesis, clairvoyance, transmutation and teleportation

Remember Michele, it MAY NOT be Delia because she wasn't even strong enough to cast her own fertility spell??

I don't know... Fiona is growing exponentially weaker, which only means that the next Supreme is growing exponentially stronger. We've seen Nan, Madison, and Misty all blossom, but Cordelia has actually lost what little power she had. I can definitely see Fiona sacrificing herself for Cordelia. Fiona summoning Stevie to sing HAEWAFY, then crying while Stevie played it, hinted at the regret she'd had for casting off her daughter.

This whole inclusion of Legba makes it interesting, though. It looks like he's teaming up with Nan to combat Marie & Fiona. But are Marie & Fiona going to outfox him, and thus Fiona may gain a soul & live? The possibilities are endless.

Also, where are Queenie, Delphine, and Kyle? The way most characters alternate episodes this season is driving me nuts! :p

nor is it Queenie who perished before the Holidays

But did she really perish? She was always able to mutilate her own body because she was a human vodoo doll. So by blowing her own brains out, she was actually simply killing Hank instead.

michelej1
01-09-2014, 03:01 PM
Yes, I don't think Queenie is dead. Her body was not there, because the other girls were still looking for her. If they found her body at the house where Hank killed everyone we would have known, since Marie is living with them.

Louie, Fiona tried to cast a fertility spell a long time ago. She got second sight when she was blinded and now she doesn't seem to have it any more, but if she stopped sobbing and feeling sorry for herself, we might discover she has some kind of new power, after all. I'm sure Myrtle will bring it to her attention. Fiona and Ax-Man are trying to kill all the powerful girls and the one they won't try to kill, Delia, is the one who will end up being the Supreme.

Newzchspy, I don't really think that Madison can raise people from the dead. That was just a set up. She actually did put the grave workers in a type of trance, but I don't think the guy in the coffin was dead anyway. She was just tricking Misty. If she really did have that power, then I don't think she'd feel threatened by Misty.

'American Horror Story': Ryan Murphy talks Stevie Nicks' debut on 'Coven' and which witches are actually dead -- EXCLUSIVE

The “White Witch” finally made her much-anticipated debut last night on American Horror Story: Coven. Yes, the one and only Stevie Nicks popped up as a pal of Fiona’s and gave the Miss Robichaux ladies a little private concert. Elsewhere, Nan, Joan and (maybe?) Misty perished. Plus, Marie did an awesome thing her tongue. EW talked to co-creator Ryan Murphy about all this and more, like which witches are gone for good.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Let’s talk about Stevie first. Did she have a blast? How did she feel about the experience?
RYAN MURPHY: She did have a blast. She was nervous because she’s never acted. But it’s one of those weird things where you mythologize somebody for months and months and months in the scripts and then you tell the actors “Oh by the way, that person is coming.” So the anticipation for her on the set with the cast and the crew was great and everybody wanted to meet her and take pictures with her and talk to her. She’s one of those ladies that’s so gracious. She’s just an amazing soul and kind. I love that she did those songs. She just had a ball. She was also very interested in the acting part of it so she spent a lot of time on set watching them and really getting into it. Everybody couldn’t say enough good things about Stevie Nicks nor could I. She’s a great person.

How did you come up with which songs she sings?
I chose “Rhiannon.” At the end, I definitely knew I wanted her to do “Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You” which is one of my favorite songs. I thought it oddly applied to the Jessica Lange character where Fiona has had all these great opportunities and squandered them and is just looking for some peace after her horrific acts. So that was great and Stevie loved that idea. And “Rhiannon,” we put that in the script months ago and at that point I hadn’t even imagined Stevie could do the show. That song is very witchy and fun.

Now, everyone at home can learn to twirl like Stevie Nicks.
I’ve seen her in concert and Stevie Nicks is famous for her twirling and her shawl changes. I said to the writers, “Do you think Stevie would have a sense of humor about this?” Knowing her I thought I think she’ll go for it and she did. Nobody twirls like Stevie Nicks.

Lily is a pretty good twirler.
All the girls watched Stevie Nicks on repeat to get that twirl down, believe you me.

And she’ll be back still?
Yes, she’s the complete cold opening of the last episode.

Can you say if she sings?
Oh yes! Yes! It’s a Stevie Nicks music video extravagaaaaanza!

Misty sort of had the best day and the worst day. She met Stevie and then was buried alive by Madison. Is that the last we’ve seen of her?
Well there’s two things going on with Misty Day. How does one get out of a tomb? Can she get out of it or is she buried alive? We’ll revisit her torment as the clock is ticking.

I think that might have been one of our favorite scenes we’ve ever done with Lily and Emma. I love how Emma twirls away. It was great fun!

This week's episode was entitled "The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks," which ordinarily would be all you needed to know about this hour of television, but NOPE. So much more happened than that! This was a truly unbelievable episode. Going into it I mistakenly believed the rest of the season would concern the battle between the coven and the witch hunters, but that part lasted about eight minutes total and the rest of the episode turned into what's shaping up to being a Battle Royale With Witches! They all want to be supreme now and Fiona wants to murder everybody! A total of three witches are now dead or otherwise neutralized, a fourth has probably thrown her hat into the supreme ring. Angela Bassett said "shut up" to a baby. Oh and hello, there's a VOODOO DEVIL walking around hassling people. Plus, you know, Stevie Nicks. That definitely happened. I want to live in this episode basically.

***

HAHAH OH boy. Part of me thought this whole cameo thing was kiiinda lame sorry, but it's true. Just so on-the-nose! Like, it was already funny that this show was implying that Stevie Nicks was a real witch, so to bring her in like this felt really jarring and obvious. But on the other hand, WOW. So fun. Stevie Nicks AS HERSELF singing both "Rhiannon" and "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?" Sign me up. I would've preferred a full-on, bring-the-house down rendition of "Edge of Seventeen," sort of a centerpiece musical number like "The Name Game" last season, but oh well. I'll take what I can get.

Then Stevie Nicks gave Misty Day (LOL) one of her best shawls! Just a truly witchy moment. Also there was a bit where Madison, Zoe, and Nan came in and frowned at Stevie Nicks' old timey ways and Madison asked Fiona if she could get Eminem to come in next and Fiona replied "Marshall? You're not his type." A statement that was laced with just enough jealous glee that I have to assume Fiona has f**ked Eminem.

Man, was this crazy. First of all, just the sight of Jessica Lange and Angela Bassett teaming up to drown a woman with Down Syndrome was really something else. But then the voodoo devil shows up and leads her to voodoo hell? In my opinion this is a strange show, but then again, so is life.

Oh, and the whole time that was going on, Stevie Nicks was just chilling downstairs. WHAT was she doing? Probably looking up Lindsey Buckingham on Facebook or something. Oh, also singing Stevie Nicks songs on the piano, obviously.

The song was a very good and poignant rendition of "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You?" and I think we were meant to believe that Fiona has felt neglected in her life because nobody loves her or something. But then again she had just murdered a really nice person in cold blood and is rotten to her very core, but still. The sight of her just weeping on that fainting couch was extremely moving to me. I can't believe Jessica Lange only has one more season left in her. She is so good even in these tiny moments when she is overshadowed by on-the-nose cameos. So good.

"The Magical Delights of Stevie Nicks" was a series highlight, trust me. It is one of the classics. It thinned out some subplots, it reduced the character roster, it galvanized everybody's motives, it introduced a voodoo devil, it featured Angela Bassett doing a voodoo tongue-wag scream, and also it featured Stevie Nicks as herself as a witch. That is some A+ with extra credit gold star work from American Horror Story. And most of it has happened to me for real! I'll explain later.

http://www.broadwayworld.com/bwwtv/article/Stevie-Nicks-Comments-On-Lily-Rabe-Friendship-Jill-Clayburgh-20140108

Iconic Fleetwood Mac frontwoman and rock legend Stevie Nicks is set to appear on this week's episode of FX's hit horror anthology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN and the star opens up about the actress who plays a character inextricably linked to her, Lily Rabe, as well as her notably accomplished actress mother, Jill Clayburgh, as part of a new interview.

Revealing their onset interaction and how she perceives Rabe's role of Misty Day, ostensibly a walking homage to the "Rhiannon" crooner, Nicks relates, "I did give Lily a really beautiful black skirt and velvet jacket that is just fantasmagorical. I just made that word up."

Nicks continues, "She has done me a huge favor by being that girl that takes on my spirit and sends that music out into the world to a whole other generation. There is no greater gift. I thought a beautiful black outfit was the least I could do for Lily Rabe."

Commenting on Rabe's own personal loss of her mother to cancer in 2010, Nicks shares, "She lost her mom [actress Jill Clayburgh] not very long ago, one year before I lost my mom. When I wrote her the note that went with her outfit I said, 'I know you lost your mom and so did I. I'm around if you need me.'"

Nicks concludes of her strong bond with Rabe, "We'll probably be friends forever."

Twirling Tunes for AHS Characters from Bustle by Alicia Lutes

The witches of New Orleans’ most insane coven are welcoming a visit from the ultimate Queen of All This Gauzy and Ethereal, Stevie Nicks. American Horror Story: Coven returns to FX tonight in a big way, and it seems as though Fiona has some tricks up her sleeve that involve the Fleetwood Mac singer. Trying to figure out the next Supreme, perhaps? Emotional manipulation is totally Fiona’s game (and not all that surprising, considering) and she’s desperate to figure out the answer, which may involve the current Supreme contender, swamp witch Misty Day (played by Lily Rabe). Seems as though tonight’s episode — titled, of course, “The Magic of Stevie Nicks” —

After all the death that happened in the mid-season finale (hopefully some of it will actually stick), a little levity would be all-too-welcome in the delightfully dark series. And who else brings more light with her than the White Witch herself? We figured each girl deserves the power of Stevie — why should Misty Day get to have all the fun just because she was there first? So we’ve come up with a list of some of Stevie’s twirliest songs, and which witch they’re perfect for.

Lest you have any fears that the episode might be bereft of twirling, fear not! E! has a clip from tonight’s episode that proves there will be many a spin spun throughout the eve’s events. Nothing like working a fringed-out shawl to make a girl feel supreme, am I right?

Fiona GDW

WIth lyrics like “Rock on, gold dust woman / Take your silver spoon and dig your grave” and “Rulers make bad lovers / You better put your kingdom up for sale, up for sale,” it’s easy to see why this Fleetwood Mac tune is perfect for the ruthless Supreme.

Misty Day’s Twirling Tune - “Rhiannon”

The ultimate twirling tune of Stevie’s is perfect for the swamp witch. And appropriate.

Zoe’s Twirling Tune - “Edge of Seventeen”

I mean could the lyrics “He was no more / (He was no more) / Than a baby then / Well, he seemed broken hearted / Somethin’ within him / But the moment / That I first laid / Eyes on him / All alone on the edge of seventeen” match up more perfectly with her relationship with Kyle (Evan Peters)?

Queenie’s Twirling Tune - “Moonlight (A Vampire’s Dream)”

We can’t help but imagine this as some sick, strange lovesong between Queenie and the terrifying man-bull beast.

Cordelia’s Twirling Tune - “Leather and Lace

A duet perfect for the woman who’s married to a witch hunter.

Nan’s Twirling Tune - “Dreams””

“Now here I go again / I see the crystal visions / I keep my visions to myself” might’ve been good advice for Nan prior to throwing down with mama Joan (Patti LuPone).

Madison’s Twirling Tune - “Wild Heart”

Madison’s life has been a fractured one, so the lyrics of “Wild Heart” — “Something in my heart died last night” is the first line — make the tune feel like her spirit song.

Interestingly, you may be correct about Fiona and herte's why: ET Magazine reported that next years AHS will be the last for Ms. Jessica Lange in any of her AHS roles, citing that it takes a LOT of time out of her life to shoot these series.

I agree. She was the underdog in the beginning, but now they're portraying her as the heir apparent. You know that won't be allowed to last! :p

Same here. No matter how evil she is, you can't help but love her all the more for it. She's the only one who has long-term vision & the necessary strength to keep the Coven going, too.

I keep wondering about Queenie, though. She's been entirely written off as having only 1 parlor trick. Does she have more power to exhibit? Nan's powers certainly blossomed right before her death. And what about Marie, now that she's been brought into the witches fold? What is her fate, or what sort of pivotal role will she play?

I had tears for almost the entire episode. Better than I was expecting. Great job Stevie

The response on twitter is amazing, very positive. Lot of praise from young people. Guessing she will see a bump in sales on itunes.

Stevie aint going to win no emmy
but i thought she was great.
that shawl scene was utter ridic
i was half expecting them to twirl around in the middle of the room and poof away in a cloud of magic
that would have been cool!
Misty's shawl is utter fug tho wtf

that end scene though, oh my heart. it was gorgeous and sad and beautiful
sorry i don't give 2 s h!ts about Misty
maybe it would have been better not to have read all the interviews/articles
but it just seemed to me like it was a Lily/Stevie mutual appreciation society more fangirly than acting for a show.
but Fiona/Jessica and Stevie i could watch all day.
love the little bet they had

ETA: i think they must have known a lot of chiffonheads were going to be tuning in ... who weren't regular watchers of the show
coz as a not loyal viewer (i've maybe seen 2 half eps and the season premiere) they rehashed enough of the plot that you knew what was going on...but there was still a lot of dialogue i had no idea wtf was going on

I think that might have been one of our favorite scenes we’ve ever done with Lily and Emma. I love how Emma twirls away. It was great fun!

that scene was awesome!

Wow .Bravo Bravo. What a great job Stevie has done on this show. She can act. Also she can play that piano with no problem too.

I'm so proud of her doing this kind of stuff.

I cant wait for her next appearance.

I'm starting to get into this show.It reminds me of David Lynch's Twin Peaks back in 1989 which I love watching too.

Ryan must be a David Lynch fan too.

I'm glad there is some producers and writers with good imagination on TV now days.

Maybe I'll change my mind later but that show gives me the creeps and I don't like it. That one scene where the girl goes to put the cigarette in her vagina and the use of the word bitch 3 times in less than a minute does not make for good television viewing for me. That aside, seeing Stevie was the true highlight for me. The last 4 minutes of the show when she sang and played HAEWAFY had me balling like a baby for 20 minutes. I was so thrilled to see my most favorite person in the whole world on a national, popular television show doing what she does best.

Yes I did notice the curse factor is high in that show and other dirty things there .Thats todays TV standard.Nobody cures any more. They would not have this show 25 years ago on cable TV unless it was on HBO or Showtime .And yes the show is strange but I rather see this then reality crap shows.

I could imagine hearing Archie Bunker telling meat head Mike to go "$$^$&^#off and get off your lazy a$$ and get out of my house."on todays TV.

Yes I love HAEWAFY.I wish she could put it back in her setlist.

Thanks for those two video clips Viv.

AHS is an acquired taste!! I didn't much like the first season, BUT the 2nd one (AHS Asylum) will really twist your head, even more so than Coven.

I agree that the ending with HAEWAFY was awesome. Fiona look so "sullen" at the end, as if she'd been defeated and KNOWS indeed that she has no soul. Stevie did a magical job of catching the emotion of the moment.

I'm no fan of what James Wong and his brother, along with Darin Morgan did for the X-Files, even though some people laud their episodes. I've always disliked them, but there's no doubt that this season of AHS has given me plenty of chuckles. I didn't watch Season 2. This is better than Season 1.

AHS is outrageous and I'm shocked it's the type of thing that Stevie would appear on. It was tame Wednesday though. You guys missed out on the incest, bestiality and general mutilation that we usually get.

Touche. Still, this Season 3 of American Horror is downright campy compared to the gorey Season 2. I'm pretty averse to graphic violence (I almost walked out of 12 Years A Slave multiple times because of that), but this season of American Horror seems to have a much better balance of humor to horror than either of the preceding seasons have.

Plus, I think I'm just somewhat desensitized to this particular genre of horror after reading so many Anne Rice novels. Anne went to far greater lengths than American Horror has ever dared... and she did it 2-4 decades before American Horror.

Speaking of Anne, does anyone else see rampant shades of her work across all 3 seasons? So many of the themes, taboo topics, and settings that Anne has dreamt up have come to life on the American Horror screen. Insane Asylum, witches, the Garden District of New Orleans, ghosts who walk amongst the living, spiritual possessions of unborn children, incest, supernatural powers being passed down through the generations, etc. That being said, True Blood seems to pay even greater homage to Anne's ideas than American Horror does.

Blame my gothic heart, but I'm just more attracted to stories that take place in old mansions, as opposed to an institution. I watch Celebrity Ghost Stories and I feel the same way. If it's a school or an old hospital that's supposedly haunted, I'm not really that interested. But if it's a Bed and Breakfast that used to be a sprawling private family home where romances ended tragically and family's braved death and disaster, then I'm all in.

Season 2 was never going to appeal to me that much anyway, but certainly from descriptions like yours, I'm glad I stayed away.

Well, I'm still watching American Horror Story Coven. That says something. Usually, I get bored with all the "gore for gore sake" and quit watching. When everything on the show is shocking, the show no longer is shocking and becomes boring.

This season is interesting and fun. Also the acting is terrific. Jessica Lange's tearful scene to Has Anyone Ever Written Anything to You was a great TV Moment. Angela Bassett and Emma Roberts did some great acting on last night's episode.

I think Nan got short-changed though. It was too easy to kill off her character.

Well yeah. But this is of an extreme nature. I used to watch Damages on FX and it wasn't like this.

Damages is one of the best shows in the history of television. I put it right up there with Six Feet Under, The Sopranos, The Shield and Sons Of Anarchy.

None of Ryan Murphy's shows even approach this level. He is a complete and utter hack. Here is how I assess him - he creates a compelling and sympathetic bunch of characters and a compelling storyline. It is impeccably cast. But after the first season or two, all the ground level relationships and character definitions are tossed aside for preposterous and out of character plot lines that utterly undermine the identities of all the initial series definitions. No one has a base level identity. All the characters become pawns to the plot. So the audience can no longer identify with any of the main characters. I dunno about anyone else, but by the end of season 3 of Nip/Tuck my fondest dream was to have all the main characters die in a fire. They all had become despicable.

Ditto Glee. I wanted to vomit after the first season. The characters had lost their roots. No one has any consistency of moral fiber or identity. I think he is a brilliant show creator but a dismal showrunner. After seeing a number of his shows, I am convinced he must be a sociopath. The New Normal? If I had met those gay guys in the street I would have stuck a knife in them myself. Laws notwithstanding. So disturbing that he says he based those guys on himself and his partner after they purchased their own gayby. So creepy and cringeworthy. Really? A silly shallow Broadway obsessed queen that acts like a stunted 13 year old girl who hooked up with neutered gynecologist? The mind boggles. The stomach wretches.

Thus, AHS is his perfect vehicle. It is a short cycle, and a closed storytelling box. He is pretty incapable of creating characters that have any redeeming value. They always end up unpredictable, evil to the core, and ultimately people you have to hate. AHS is the first show he has done where you can find something sympathetic at the end for any character. Thus the 13 episodes. He doesn't have enough time to utterly destroy every single person on the show.

I have enjoyed AHS on its own terms. I particularly enjoy Coven. There are some epic scene chewing lines for the great actresses he has found. I mean really, Angela Bassett telling a baby to "Shut up. I'll give you something to cry about!" And Jessica - "This coven doesn't need a new Supreme, it needs a new rug." His writers have given Kathy, Jessica and Angela some epic Baby Jane worthy dialogue.

Fantastic.

There are other great lines in Coven that will give drag queens material for years to come. Pretty rich material. But I think he is a shallow storyteller. All flash and no substance. He is no Alan Ball. No David Milch. No Kurt Sutter. He skims the surface and has a great sense of camp, but is for the most part devoid of giving his characters a lasting sense of humanity. He has no idea how to create and sustain characters who are multi-faceted and real human beings who have faults but can remain lovable and human They all become monsters in the end.

And that makes AHS okay. I think he could have used Stevie and her songs in a much more sophisticated manner. Those songs could have had so much more gravity. I can only dream what Alan Ball could have done with it. But he didn't embarrass Stevie. It came off all right. Could have been genius, but it was just average. It could have been far worse.

Even 13 episodes is too much for them plot wise. The setting just doesn't change every year. They aren't really telling a story within ONE season. Each week almost gives us its own vignette. It's like they have a premise and they know what the finale is going to be. Everything that happens in between is just trying to keep us entertained as they tread water. There's no true progression. I do enjoy it more than I did the first season which was too David Lynch for my tastes.

That's actually a really good point. Maybe Patti is hard to work with so all the directors kill her so they don't have to deal with her.

This is the best analysis I have ever read about Ryan's work. I was a huge fan of Nip/Tuck and Glee. I considered both top tier TV shows during its first seasons. However, both shows completely lost their way by season 3. Nip/Tuck, especially, turned into a circus side show with outlandish and ludicrous plots. I totally agree that AHS is much better in the fact he is limited by 13 episodes. It doesn't give him an opportunity to run amuck with the characters and story.

American Horror Story: Coven, FX

A couple of witches bond in a Louisiana swamp cabin, listening to Fleetwood Mac's "Rhiannon." They ponder the greatness of Stevie Nicks. "The white witch!" one gushes. "This song was her anthem. Doesn't it just penetrate your soul and tell the truth about everything you've ever felt in your whole life?" The other replies, "Totally!" Rock on, gold-dust witches.

Thank you. I viewed AHS with utter skepticism from the get go because of this. Murphy has no grasp of humanity. Thus it is best for him to deal with monsters and ghosts. He has no idea what real human beings are like. I like AHS solely for the camp and suspense value. Each season has far too many characters, and even when it comes to the DEAD, Ryan Murphy cannot wrap up their storylines to an emotionally compelling resolution. I really think he is a soulless creature. Nothing he does has a ring of emotional truth. It kind of works for AHS. Kind of. But not really. We all still want to love the characters. If only a bit. But within a few episodes of every series, it is clear he and his writer hate the characters. All of them. So how does the viewer even have a choice? If you cannot love a few of the people in a show it will never truly mean anything.

In last week’s episode we finally got to lay our eyes on the “White Witch” herself, Stevie Nicks. Now, the question on the back of everyone’s minds is, when, or will, she be back again this season. It just so happens that Entertainment Weekly has the answer for us.

According to show creator Ryan Murphy, we will see Stevie Nicks again this season. We will have to wait a few more episodes, but it is coming.

“Yes, she’s the complete cold opening of the last episode.” Murphy told EW.

EW also asked Murphy if she would be singing again. I think you will all be pretty pleased with his answer.

“Oh yes! Yes! It’s a Stevie Nicks music video extravagaaaaanza!” Murphy said.

So, there you have it. We will see the “White Witch” in one more episode this season again. Now, the next question is, does this mean that we will see Misty Day again? I mean, she can bring herself back to life. She’s done it before.

The only problem is, now she has this pesky tomb to get out of. For any normal person, this would be quiet an impossible task; however, Misty Day is no normal person.

There are only 3 episodes left this season, including tonight’s episode. So don’t miss a single minute of arguably one of the best shows on television right now.

The next all-new episode of American Horror Story: Coven, entitled “Protect the Coven,” airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. on FX.

No, on the show she's been called the White Witch several times.

What's not really 100% clear is whether she's actually supposed to be a real witch with powers. When Misty referred to her as the White Witch early in the season, I think it was clearly only meant to be an expression of her kind of deluded admiration / idolization of Stevie. But when Fiona matter-of-factly stated that she was a white witch and she'd never been able to get her to play in the shadows, that seemed to imply that she was indeed and actual witch (albeit a good witch. Glinda, if you will :lol). But she never actually did anything to confirm it.

Based on what Fiona said, I do think Stevie really is supposed to be a witch -- but I dont' think Misty realized this until now.

But Fiona is not a white witch by any means and since I assume that the witch community gossips, Stevie should be aware of the murderous things that Fiona has done in her past, so I wouldn't think a white witch would socialize with Fiona. I mean, I wouldn't expect Glenda the Good Witch to be pals with Fiona.
