I'm assuming this means a visit to the set a la her Glee visit?

I just got this report from my Google newsbot too.
I had a good feeling that she will appear in the show.

It looks like Ryan is a big Stevie fan.

They're really inventing and assigning meanings to a rather vague tweet and passing it off as journalism, there. I think it'll be a set visit/lovefest. Perhaps a silent cameo role at a push.

Who knows, it could just be a set visit. Time will tell. It's fun either way.
Who knows, it could just be a set visit. Time will tell. It's fun either way.
It is fun. But it's a little baffling to me that people can look at that tweet and say "She's going to be in the show!"
Like, it doesn't say that even a little bit.
We shall see, yes.

Wasn't sure at first but this is a tweet from a half hour ago from Eric Souliere (@ESS421) whose bio states he casts for TV and is based in LA.
"Well it's out there, so now I can say something...Stevie Nicks is gonna be on AHS!"

That's more what I'm looking for.
I hope she doesn't actually have a speaking part. But I guess great shows have the odd bad idea now and again, so who knows.

Looks like the real deal...
If Mama's going to be on AHS they better make it good
Perhaps they could include some live footage (like the '82 Sisters Of The Moon)

File this under bitchin' news!
Stevie Nicks is set to make a guest appearance on FX's hit series American Horror Story: Coven later this season, creator Ryan Murphy revealed on Tuesday. "Guess who's visiting the Coven? The legendary Stevie Nicks!" he tweeted to his followers. (Let's all do a Stevie Nicks shawl twirl over this epic casting news, shall we?!)
While she's yet to pop up in New Orleans, Nicks has had quite the presence on the witchy series thanks to Lily Rabe's kooky hippie character Misty Day, who idolizes the legendary singer-songwriter. And a source who works on the show exclusively spills to us that Misty's dreams come true when Nicks "comes to meet her biggest fan. And maybe sing with her." We. Die. Expect to see Nicks pop up in the Big Easy in episode ten.

Stevie Nicks Headed to 'American Horror Story: Coven'
Show creator Ryan Murphy tweets she's been cast for a cameo
By Mike Ayers
November 12, 2013
In the second episode of American Horror Story: Coven, Misty Day (played by Lily Rabe) details her love of all things Stevie Nicks. Specifically, she cites Fleetwood Mac's classic tune "Rhiannon" as inspiration for her witchy ways. Now Coven fans will get Nicks in the flesh, as creator Ryan Murphy tweeted this morning that she's set for a cameo. No word yet as to what her role will be, but the idea of Nicks and a show about a battle for witch supremacy should guarantee greatness.
This is a nice piece of news for Nicks, who's been on tour for most of 2013 with Fleetwood Mac. Last month, though, the band had to cancel their Australian and New Zealand tour dates so John McVie could undergo cancer treatment.
Coven is the third installment of Murphy's American Horror Story series, which changes its storyline, plot and characters each season. The show takes place in present-day New Orleans and flashes back to the 1830s. The series was recently renewed for a fourth season.

I'm shocked. The show is so "out there" that I didn't think Stevie would ever appear on it. It can get so gruesome. I didn't think she was still resisting the "witch" stigma, but I just thought the show was too gory for her to appear. And not gory in a natural way like a tv show about WAR would be. But just ... they will violently take out someone's intestines on this show during a stroll in the park.

Are they? I like the show well enough. I saw the first season, skipped the second and I probably would have tried to watch this third season no matter what, even without the Stevie songs. I liked the "school" premise, but the mental institution setting last year didn't appeal to me.

I tuned into AHS during the first season because I liked Connie Britton but it was Jessica Lange that really got me hooked on it. Her performance in the 2nd season was just amazing and even though I hated the idea of the asylum it just worked.
I am really enjoying this season as well but yeah never in a million years did I think Stevie would be into making a cameo on the show. I have watched so many horror movies in my life and this show just finds a way to gross you out in ways you never really thought were possible. I cant imagine that Stevie has ever watched this show especially the episode with the incest and beastiality in it.
The ratings are huge for this season though which is really great.

Since I dont watch TV like I used to.I never heard of AHS until I spotted the AHS thread on here on the Ledge.
I'm glad to see the show beating out reality crap shows and I'm shocked its beating out NBA basketball games.
Also add the reruns off off network shows.
I hope the networks notice that this original scripted show is cleaning house and hopefully end the era of reality shows.

Well, Game of Thrones had already schooled her in incest.
While I enjoyed parts of the first AHS season, I kind of like a sequential plot and don't like it when dreams and fantasies walk on and off the screen and you don't know what really happened and what didn't. I don't really have an affinity for David Lynch/Mulholland Drive nonsensical things. But I loved some of the things that happened to Britton and McDermott's characters that first year.
At least with Coven, it is more of a conventional narrative. Things unfold logically and you know everyone's motivations. In the first season, I knew what Ben and Vivien were doing and why, but I had no idea what the ghosts' goals were. It all seemed so arbitrary. Michele

“American Horror Story” has been really into Stevie Nicks this season, and now the show will be going the extra mile.
“Guess who’s visiting the Coven? The legendary Stevie Nicks!” Murphy tweeted this morning. Rejoice, fans of flowing garments: This means there’s finally a possibility of Stevie Nicks and Patti LuPone singing a duet, since LuPone plays the uptight Bible-thumping neighbor who lives next to the witch school that’s the focus of this season.
Make that duet happen, Ryan Murphy! If anyone can, it’s you!

1. When she sang to this owl.
2. When she cast a spell on Mick Fleetwood and made him do this.
3. When she wore this hat to look at the lesser witches with disdain as she prepared to school them.
4. When she told all the other witches to "Stand Back."
5. When she did this twirl on Up All Night.
6. When she blew Lindsey Buckingham witch kisses.
7. When she demonstrated her shape-shifting powers on film.
8. When she proved that she's a White Witch with this tour outfit.
9. When she used her fire power.
10. When she did a witch dance on stage.
11. When she used her powers to conjure Mick Fleetwood out of thin air.
12. When she sassily slapped this tambourine.
13. When she made her own kind of music with an air guitar.

'The white witch lives!' Stevie Nicks to guest star as sorceress on American Horror Story: Coven
By Cassie Carpenter
PUBLISHED: 19:13 EST, 12 November 2013 | UPDATED: 19:13 EST, 12 November 2013
She crafted an ethereal, mystical persona as the shawl-twirling frontwoman of Fleetwood Mac.
And Stevie Nicks will make her acting debut as the 'White Witch' on an upcoming episode of American Horror Story: Coven.
Series creator Ryan Murphy made the announcement on his Twitter page Tuesday, writing: 'Guess who's visiting the Coven? The legendary Stevie Nicks!'
The 65-year-old rock goddess - born Stephanie - was already a major source of inspiration for the show's necromancer witch, Misty Day.
Lily Rabe, who plays Misty, is just as obsessed with the eight-time Grammy nominee as her ethereal character.
'If I meet her, I actually think I might die on the spot,' the 31-year-old actress told Entertainment Weekly.
'I don't get that crazy about a lot of people. I’m usually pretty cool, calm, and collected. But I don’t know if could behave properly. I love her so much. She's just a beautiful creature.'
According to Celebuzz, Stevie 'comes to meet her biggest fan and maybe sing with her' on episode 10.
Eight of Nicks' songs will also be used this season, including Edge of Seventeen and Rhiannon.
Murphy first connected with the Gold Dust Woman singer when they used her music for his Fox series Glee.
'I called Stevie Nicks and first I said, "I want to use you in the show,"' the 47-year-old producer told EW.
But she was very resistant because from the beginning of her career people who are in the Wiccan community had given her a hard time thinking she was a witch and she got a lot of scary fan letters. She didn’t like the darkness of that, and I explained to her the part and she’s like, "Aw f***, let's just do it. OK, I love it.'"
Stevie suddenly found herself with more free time after Fleetwood Mac were forced to cancel their tour Down Under due to bass player John McVie's cancer treatment.
Nicks and her band won't take the stage again until December 30 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
American Horror Story: Coven - which recently got renewed for a fourth season - currently airs Wednesday nights on FX.

Michele, I thought you would find this info most helpful. Stevie had to have told someone this week that FM plans to play Vegas still.

I also noticed that the press release for the CES concert says that the band includes Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, and Mick Fleetwood, and then goes on to mention John's cancer treatment. I took this to mean that this show, as well as the two at the MGM, will go on as scheduled, either with John or a substitute.

Yes and we know that the Monster appearance was only recently announced, well after the news about John, so they have to plan to do that.

Did I get my wires crossed? I thought Stevie was doing an appearance tonight on AHS. If she did, I missed her.

I cant imagine that Stevie has ever watched this show especially the episode with the incest and beastiality in it.
I don't know if she's ever seen it, but i'm sure she's well aware of the attention it's bringing her. Also, her niece is a big fan of the show, so who knows?

No, she's a little way off. I don't know how often the show will be pre-empted with the holidays coming up. They may revert to reruns and then we shouldn't expect to see Stevie until January, in that event.

According to imdb, December 11 will be Episode 9 because apparently the show won't be airing during the week of Thanksgiving.

As I remember FX does not run many holiday shows like the big four does until probably the week of Christmas .
If the show was on ABC/Family channel .I will say forget it until the first of the year.ABC/family will do their 25days of Christmas like they do every year.
I'm glad they have a date of her appearance.
This will give me a time frame to order extended cable again.

But sometimes they won't run first run episodes, if they think viewership will be low, so they insert a rerun instead, so they won't miss out on ratings.
